The room was great with two seperate rooms for the double and childrens beds made it very practical
The owners were very friendly, welcoming and accomodating. A good breakfast and plenty of it!!! The facilities were suitable and for families and great for couples with small children (toys etc) and I liked the idea that if you wanted to store food in a fridge or make a picnic there was a designated kitchen. I would recommend for couples on a budget with kiddies in tow! Although we didn't have an evening meal I thought this an excellent idea if you didn't want to go out again after a long day
Bed was comfortable enough but creaked evrytime you turned over. Perhaps the frame just needed tightening up. We only stayed 2 nights so didn't worry but would have mentioned it (politely!) if we had stayed longer
Very friendly owners, flexible and helpful
roomss need updating
We were very disappointed with this hotel. We found it very depressing and quite claustrophobic.
Proprietors were friendly and food was good. They hadn't received all the relevant information from you and so they had to adapt the accommodation for our requirements (We had booked and paid for a two bedroom suite but they had assumed two people would only need one room). This lodge is ideal for young families.
The rooms are very basic, more like a backpacker hostel although the main body of the hotel is historic, comfortable and rustic.
Television was not adjusted for the new digital system we think.
relaxed atmosphere, very child friendly though children didn't get under the feet of us older guests
