10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the roomy en-suite with modern luxuries, bright and spacious and spotlessly clean. We especially liked our chats with Mark over breakfast, he is such a knowledgeable person and fun guy to be around. Minutes away from the Donkey Sanctuary which we recommend visiting.
Cons: There was was nothing to dislike.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners were so personable and helpful, the food was good! All home cooked breakfasts and were veey accomidating! The rooms were so lovely
Cons: Was just a little outside of sidmouth but the walk down and back was beautiful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All good
Cons: We liked it all, found taking our shoes off a bother , but could understand why!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was well presented with lots of additional extras. The wet areas were very spacious and the shower fantastic. Breakfast options were extensive and well cooked and presented. The hosts Carol and Mark were very friendly and happy to advise on regional attractions and were very approachable. Addressing each guest by their name is an excellent touch
Cons: Nothing. As a suggestion maybe a writing table or something similar for those of us who tend to spread out a bit in the evening. Did not detract from the stay - simply a suggestion.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Martin was very welcoming and accommodating
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of our hosts. Our room was Amazing. So large. Loved the extra room with the coffee table and chairs next to the kettle! Our bed was very comfy as well. The views out of the window were gorgeous of the sea in the distance.
Cons: It would have been helpful to have some hooks in the bathroom to hang your flannels in the shower unit. With the tea and coffee facilities, some fresh milk would have been really helpful. Especially if you don't like UHT. Also sachets of hot chocolate for bedtime would have been nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: The owners are very friendly and helpful. The house is set in its own grounds and away from the main road although access is confusing through the grounds of another building which has its own large car park. The bedroom is tasteful and comfortable and the bathroom is very well appointed. There are 3 rooms as B & B and a self catering flat which is the left hand windows and doors in the main photo. Breakfast menu is extensive and if you like breakfast it set you up for most of the day. I like a lie in so missed several breakfasts. I think that this would be a good place to stay and explore the area but not if you are there for Sidmouth Folk Festival as I was. There is plenty of room for car parking but it was very dark at night with only one light near the steps. In many ways for me this was a curate's egg of an experience with some excellent aspects and some not.
Cons: When I booked I thought that it was in Sidmouth but it wasnt. It's about a 20 minute journey by car to the sea front and at least a 30 minute walk. Its about half a mile to the Sidford crossroads where there was a regular bus service into Sidmouth based on the number of buses I saw in both directions when driving. There is a bus stop near the guest house but I saw no buses. Having to take shoes off and leaving them in the porch might be sensible if they are muddy walking boots but not normal clean soled ones. If you use booking dot com which I suggest that you dont (as its better to make direct contact in y experience) then I dont like that one night's money was charged immediately on booking, eleven months ahead. I didnt realise that this would happen so if it was clearly stated it was something I didnt notice, and I didnt expect because it doesnt apply to most places on this website.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Friendly hosts. Spotlessly clean and very nice room and ensuite. Liked chatting to other guests at one long table at breakfast very sociable. Good sized parking area. Would definitely recommend it.
Cons: Decent walk to sea but we knew that and liked the stroll along the river to get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and welcoming
Cons: Nothing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay for couples especially if you have a dog. Very friendly, great breakfast and comfortable bed. Super environment.
Cons: Nothing, some have committed on narrow roads.Well this is Devon, I found the road from Sidmouth to have plenty of passing places and no problem. Others have remarked about the decor being dated, all I can say is the bed was fantastic, come on this is a dog friendly farm, not a minimalist penthouse apartment.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very good breakfast good location for Sidmouth
Cons: somewhat dated furniture (about 50 years old!)

Cons: Cooked breakfast was nice but rather small ie 1 sausage 1 bacon 1 egg etc .one important thing was loose stone tiles at bottom of stairs need to be fixed as could result in nasty accident. Heating came on and off randomly through the night so was throwing bedding on and off.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: lovely location with easy walk into town. Comfy and relaxing lounge for family get together.
Cons: The bathroom had a step down into it which my elderly Mum found difficult. The green light for the fire exit was very bright and lit the room all night.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a friendly, well run hotel and all I needed for a stop over visit. Food was good and a selection offered to suit most tastes. I was visiting friends and accordingly the location was not important. If someone wanted to be near the sea it was a 20/25 minute walk. Parking was adequate on site.

Pros: Lovely little place to stay. Atmosphere on the evening was brilliant with the local people. It was Fish Friday and we ordered home made fish and chips with peas. It was probably the best fish and chips I've tasted in a long while! Owners were really friendly and helpful. And the cooked breakfast included was just as delicious! The view from our room was of the church courtyard, the bed was extremely comfy and the en suite bathroom was clean and spacious. Pet friendly and just an overall gem within Sidbury village. Will definitely be staying again if we go to that part of the country again!
Cons: Some entertainment would of been good! But not needed as again, the atmosphere will really good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, done to order, plenty of food. Location though on a main road was quiet from traffic after 11pm, easy to find.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Position Lovely big tastefully decorated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent
Cons: The single room was very small with an amazing terrace but because it was small it got very warm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location overlooking the sea. Particularly loved the balcony.Staff were excellent.
Cons: Loved everything but a tablecloth on the tables in The Shed would be nice. Just being picky though. The road is really noisy but nothing the hotel can do there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's great to have a room with a sea view and just lovely to go to sleep and wake up to the sound and view of the sea.
Cons: As a disabled person, it's not the easiest of hotels to get about in, but it is manageable and the staff are very helpful and very pleasant, nothing seems too much trouble.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: pleasant seafront site with good public space for sitting around, as well as a "proper bedroom" rather than a bolt-hole just big enough for a bed. Food was wholesome and well cooked.
Cons: It might help drivers to know that there are actually only 6 spaces in the hotel's own car park. Reserving a parking bay was not an option on booking.com, but it probably would help the hotel and the guests to know where they stand on that.
7.5 Good
Pros: Sea view. Decent breakfast. Good supper . Great crab sandwiches.
Cons: Car parking was a problem. Although we were lucky to find a space on our arrival. We did find it a bit expensive, but guess we paid for location.

Cons: Our only complaint would be inconsiderate guests letting fire doors slam so perhaps put closer on with a soft close adjustment

Pros: Perfect location to get into Town. A quiet area with a beautiful park at the rear of the building. Hosts were friendly and attentive without being over the top. Our room was ideal, at the top of the house with a nice view of the garden. Spotlessly clean and all the facilities you require.
Cons: Possibly a wider time slot for breakfast. We do enjoy a lay in so the 8am-9am time slot was a little tight, but i am being picky

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast, beautiful location
Cons: Nothing, missed curry night!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great and the location central. Although the Church clock kept my partner awake and I would have preferred a shower rather than a bath, the accommodations were very good.
Cons: See above.

Pros: Really lovely welcome. The food is outstanding, especially the curries!
Cons: Would have liked breakfast to be included in price if room

10.0 Excellent
Cons: difficult to find a parking place as there is no car park at the property.

7.5 Good
Pros: great staff, brilliant location, nice views, easy parking
Cons: shower very very weak, could not really use it properly. outdoor pool area needs attention specially the changing rooms and water did not look very clean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the rooms, the views, the location for sure, the staff, the pool, the environment, the history and the comfort.
Cons: The Jubilee Restaurant experience. It felt as though we were being hurried. Food was arriving too quickly. 5 courses in an hour and a quarter. The food seemed too prepared for speed, not quality.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location real old world charm
Cons: water pressure weak in showers , swimming pool water turned our costumes green,
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous hotel. Wonderful views and room very good.
Cons: We didn’t feel welcome. We were refused an evening meal, having arrived 5 minutes late after a long journey. At breakfast, we had to ask how to order food. Changing a table within 12 inches of my food plate was not nice as bits flew up on my plate. It’s a real pity that we did not feel valued although we had booked one of the most expensive rooms. We paid £381 for a night of luxury but was let down badly by the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent service at all times. location perfect overlooking the sea.
Cons: all great

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The food can’t be faulted, the people are really friendly and I would definitely stay again with hesitation.
Cons: Only the lift. It’s an old style lift but that’s not really worth mentioning. It works so....
7.9 Good

Pros: Excellent
Cons: Request for a deposit upon arrival was unexpected, unwelcome and surprising, never had this experience before. Bed duvet was heavy, making sleep uncomfortable.

Pros: location excellent Hotel full of 'mature' guests and formal coat and tie for diner however they have a new horizon restaurant which is same food but more relaxed which we enjoyed staff were helpful and excellentlovely location
