Nice Character building.
what a stupid idea to put a communal table and chairs outside bedroom windows which everybody used for smoking and drinking into the early hours being very noisy!
The location was great, a few blocks away from the mosque. The staff was very helpful.
They were renovating the floors, so it was a little inconvenient to walk in public areas, and I could hear the noise from my bedroom
Very kind staff, especially one of the guys there who took us up and showed us the room - very serviceminded. A nice, typical hotel breakfast.
Service from staff. Location near train station went for Formula one grand prix walked to raffles about 25 minutes walk. Mini bar complimentary was fabulous especially water bottles and good coffee from coffee machine. Wi-Fi worked well too. Handy was a great idea free international calls to Australia phoned home twice
For one person this was perfect, only thing was after cleaning room air conditioning was turned off unforgivable for Singapore, Sunday afternoon went back to hotel instead of track fortunately or I'd have sweltered went to front desk to ask how to turn it on again. Put it on so room would be cool when got back from Grand Prix in High humidity. Came back at 11pm that night. Air conditioner was turned off again . Luckily never took long to cool the room again.
Great location. Walkable distance to Kampung Glam area. The building itself is beautiful and the reception hallway has relaxing atmosphere. I like the building was only two storey. Got the ground floor which was easier for families.
The standard room doesn't look like in the picture shown in booking.com. I relied on foreigners rave reviews and expected too much. Maybe for foreigners the atmosphere was great but for me nothing special. Should have referred to Malaysian reviewers instead.
With a stay at The Sultan in Singapore (Kampong Glam), you'll be a 5-minute walk from Sultan Mosque and 12 minutes by foot from Bugis Street Shopping District. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, limo/town car service, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
