This place had only been open about six weeks when we stayed. Everything was immaculately clean and comfortable. Beds are all twins but we just pushed them together. Rooms are small but they have a sink and small table and chairs wifi available me everywhere. A little kitchen so you can bring things to make sandwiches, coffee, etc. very nice breakfast available in the morning. Shared showers provide soap. Towels and linens provided, which is rare, it seems. Very nice staff. Free access to the local pool and discount on a local restaurant were bonuses for us but unfortunately we didn't use them. I would consider it an upscale hostel. Entrance not well marked -- it's at the back of the building and up stairs. There is only an Icelandic flag to mark it !
The countryside. The staffs are very unfriendly.
It was a functional hotel and the only one in town - it could do with some updating. A bit drab inside - it could do with some decorating.
The season was off. The manager of the hotel opens it just for us. very nice experience For the dinner no choice only one restaurant available in the city
Based on the fact that hotels in Iceland are very expensive, our room (a studio in the annexe) was very large, clean and quiet, with some very basic cooking facilities for us to make some dinner and save money that way. The buffet breakfast was good too. Dinner not so great and reception staff seemed a little confused - we initially got given a room in the main building which was not as good
People at front desk are very kind. The hotel is well located on Snaefellsness peninsula. It's easy to get around. It missed a little cleaning in shared bathroom and shower.
The location was good. From what we could see, there were not many hotels in the area, so the choice was ok. Otherwise, we did not enjoy the hotel There were no restaurants in the area, so we had to order dinner at the hotel. You have asked not to use offensive language, but the food was terrible, uneatable. Five out of six of us ordered the fish. It was not baked, the taste was terrible and we all left it on the plates.
None Very poor looking
It was not clear from the information on the website that these rooms did not include facilities. Other hotels made that clear.
Original booking was for an economy room hotel which were very poor in quality and not clean. Hotel staff upgraded to a en suite room (free of charge). Also these rooms were the poorest quality I stayed in during my stay in Iceland.
Good location, very spacious simple but comfortable rooms, good breakfast.
Incredible location, beautiful and comfortable hotel. The service was first rate.
The Hotel Budir is located off the main road around the Snaefellsnes Peninsula amid an elf filled lava field, with views of a beautiful beach, a historic black church, and the mountains. As wonderful as the location is, the service and food are even better! We were treated as if we were the only guests, even though the hotel was full, with total attention of the staff at all times. The hotel has its own well stocked bar and several lounges, a gourmet dining room, and a menu to make anyone happy. Try the langoustine appetizer and the Blue Ling Fish entree. When we come back to Iceland, we will stay there again! PS check out the shop behind the hotel as well...
The town of Anastapi is quite beautiful and Guesthouse Snjofell offers an alternative to camping. The restaurant provides delcious lamb but prices are not cheap and there is no grocery store within walking distance. If travelling by bus, it is wise to bring some prepared food since there are no cooking facilities in this guesthouse. There is only one washroom for the whole guesthouse, which created long ques when all of the rooms were being used.
staff and food were good, surrounding beautiful, room clean, bed good toilet and bath faccilities are poor for too many guests
The views and the ambiance Too many rooms sharing just obe bathroom (8, I think),
the location is very special: a tiny village, bird colonies and lava, views on the glacier.
The surrounding area is beautiful. Too bad about the lousy accommodation. Very expensive for what you get. The room was like a youth hostel, but the price was not! The furniture was bottom of the range Ikea. Half the lights in the room were not working, the beds were basic and uncomfortable. The sheets were transparent. Very noisy!! The shower rooms were not very nice with broken light fittings and there was only two showers for over 20 people! The picture for this place is misleading as the nice looking houses that you see are the very overpriced restaurant/reception and not the accommodation, which is very basic. The food was extremely overpriced. The lamb chops were 80% fat. This was by far the worst place of our stay in Iceland. Would not recommend to anybody.
Location next to cliffs Heating was very high; rooms were tiny; could not join beds together; small room; staff seemed rather cold; restaurant overpriced and stuffy, so we at at another hotel nearby, excellent food and service.
The location of Snjofell is amazing. The food was very tasty, local and fresh. The breakfast buffet had everything we liked. Snjofell's restaurant is housed in a beautiful old turf house.
Location - Arnastapi and the Snaefellness peninsula are gorgeous. The staff were really friendly and helpful (only rated good, as the girl who had started the morning arrived got things a little bit wrong, but that was her inexperience, which was quickly resolved) My single room was tiny, and the pricing seemed very expensive compared to elsewhere in Iceland.
