Bikers Paradise is situated in Ólafsvík and features a terrace. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. At the guest house the rooms include a shared bathroom.
Pros: Well supplied kitchen, comfortable beds and well clean house. Also the check-in was really easy. Amizing view from the house.
Pros: It was very comfortable and welcoming and the rooms were super quiet. It was so nice to come home to after long days out. The kitchen was great for cooking and the balcony was lovely to sit on (in the sunshine!)
Pros: Outstanding location and ocean views. The common living room is very beautiful. It's a short walk to all places of attraction in Olafsvik and there were very useful tips on exploring Western Iceland and the nearby Natural Park. The bathrooms though shared - were very well maintained.
Cons: We would have preferred to have one of the two sea facing rooms. But they had been booked by a large family group. The large group also made the place rather noisy and our access to kitchen was impacted.
Pros: Great value for money, actually I found it cheap. Fully automated check-in and perfect communication of the owner. Clean and comfortable, well quipped kitchen. Free parking available. Beautiful view on sea. This venue save us from Icelandic cold, we choose it instead of camp and it was great choice. .
Cons: Rooms are little bit smaller and there is not enough place to put belongings but for one night absolutely ok.
Pros: Good place in the Snæfellsnes peninsula. It was a bit crowded when we were there. Room was ok, good for 1 night stay. The kitchen had main amenities and tools for cooking. 2 shared bathrooms, but just 1 shower, so there was a bit of a line in the morning to get in, as there were 10 people staying at that time.
Pros: Everything! The owner is adorable and makes us feel like home . the entire house is clean and well equiped, a lovely place to stay, really :)
Cons: Add a bedside lamp into the room might be a good thing
Pros: very nice and comfortable place wit amazing sea view
Pros: We stayed at 7 accommodations in Iceland, but Bikers Paradise was our favorite! We were given check in instructions that were timely and clear, the kitchen cabinets were cutely labeled and there were room boxes in the fridge. Everything was super thoughtful! Even though we didn’t meet the owners, we are sure they are delightful people :)
Pros: Everything was very clean and newly renovated. Well-equipped kitchen.
Cons: The common room area was a bit too small for the number of rooms. Our room was quite small.

Pros: Its really clean & cozy!!
Cons: There were some bugs flying inside the room.
Pros: Very clean and nice place
Pros: Bedroom very clean and comfortable. Common bathroom is very clean too. Every room was a small private sink in the bedroom which is very comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast was not good and too less choices. We had also to clean our dishes! Position noisy as it is on the main road
Pros: Very nice Interieur good breakfast clean
Pros: Friendly staff, the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was simple but superb delicious and more than enough. Kitchen facilities was complete and plenty of car parking place. Next to fuel station, easy to refill the fuel after the long driving journey.
Cons: The bed and pillow a little bit soft to me but overall is good.
Pros: The view from the kitchen is breath taking
Cons: The fact that you cannot use the kitchen till 12 in the afternoon.
Located in Snæfellsbær, Gamla Rif is housed in a over 120 years old farmhouse which was later renovated into a coffee house. Today, it is a guest house and features a shared kitchen and a shared lounge for guests. Rooms come with free WiFi and shared bathroom facilities. All units in the guest house are fitted with a coffee machine. Gamla Rif offers some rooms with sea views, and rooms have a kettle. Gamla Rif offers a sun terrace with a great view of the harbour along the glacier. Skiing is among the activities that guests can enjoy near the guest house.
Pros: The location was good for the sites we wanted to visit, easy to get to and really good eateries close by.
Cons: the stairs are very steep going to the second floor apartments.
Pros: The house is located in a tranquil neighbourhood overlooking the harbour. Beware of the sea fowl on the road when approaching by car! The rooms on the upper floor are bright and immaculate, with soft and comfy beddings.
Cons: The kitchen leaves something to be desired in terms of completeness of equipment and cleanliness. The towels should have been changed more frequently. The food cabinet gave off an unpleasant smell.
Pros: Excellent location, easy to find. Super clean room, comfortable beds. Good value for the money.
Cons: The only disappointment was the number of showers: Only one shower per 5 rooms (10 people in total) throughout the house.
Cons: You get a short message with the keycode, no further information. I arrived at a common check-in time, the host was there but just to get the payment from another guest. No welcome nothing. My room was promoted as sea view. In fact it was directly in front of the car park and the street. The sea was far away and only visible from the very corner. Also the room was on the ground floor next to entrance and common areas (noisy). The linen of my bed was (I think) washed, but still full of yellow spots. The bathroom also could have been cleaner. The house generally is very nice and would be a great place, if the owner would take more care about it.
Pros: The kitchen is well equipped. We had room number 5 with a great view of the harbour and the mountain.
Cons: Steep staircase, badly soundproofed; the house was full when we were there and you could hear the other guests talk in the adjoining rooms.

Pros: Great atmosphere. When I arrived a film show was in progress. The sitting room is huge and has lovely comfy furniture.
Cons: Toilet was a bit cramped. Reception was not obvious.
Pros: Didn't have breakfast, great location to a nearby town and very good views around the building. Very nice chilled out vibe.
Pros: The facilities were very good. The rooms were good and clean. Check in was easy.
Pros: Great staff, fully equipped kitchen, huge common area with bar.
With a stay at West Park Guesthouse in Hellissandur, you'll be near the beach, and 13.6 mi (21.9 km) from Djupalonssandur Beach and 15.6 mi (25.1 km) from Snaefellsjoekull National Park. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location was amazing, we had a view of the ocean on one side and the volcano on the other, so the sunset was very beautiful. The host was very responsive when we needed to check-in after reception hours were finished, and we could check-in/check-out very easily. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, exactly what we needed after a day of travelling. The laundry room on site and the kitchen were great facilities. As we were a big group and had the whole unit to ourselves, ending the day in the shared lounge and playing games was really nice.
Cons: There was only one shared bathroom (shower + toilet) for 4 rooms, which made it a bit difficult for all of us to get ready in time in the morning.
Pros: Room and facilities were simple, yet clean! Kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment, plates, etc. Bathroom also provided with dispenser in the shower which was good. Great location!
Cons: Room curtains still let in some light and bedroom door still allowed a good amount of sound in, which could be a problem for some when staying in the first floor room which is right next to the kitchen/dining.
Pros: It was clean and comfortable. There was no problem parking and the price was good.
Cons: It was a farther than I thought from most places we wanted to visit.
Pros: Nice interior, clean, comfortable. Could not find the place where to wash my clothes (it was dark outside and I did not see the sign on the door), staff member called me and explained how to find it. Very helpful. I recommend this place.
Cons: Not too soundproof walls and doors. Just in case you need to know it.
Pros: Great location, right at the edge of the Snæfellsjökull National Park. Our room was situated on the second level, featuring two beds and two separate wardrobe areas so we could each hang our stuff up and place our luggage in that area. The room was well-heated. No need to speak with anyone for check-in – the key was just left in our door.
Cons: Kitchen area was small and fridge was completely full with everyone's stuff, so there was some stuff just being kept in boxes on the floor (6 people sharing the house, with room for 8 people all up). There was a small table for eating and a small couch in the living room, meaning only one couple could eat and one couple could relax at a time. Bathroom could've done with some cleaning.
Pros: Cheap price, nice location Before staying here i was overnight outside all night long for searching northern light Then i wanted to pretty early check in When i came there that was not prepared But staff tried to make it asap
Cons: 4room shared one bathroom Winter season is fine But i have no idea at summer
When you stay at Guesthouse Hof in Stadarstadur, you'll be by the ocean and 17.8 mi (28.6 km) from Rauðfeldsgjá. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The view, the staff very friendly.
Cons: Restroom a little old and small.
Pros: There's a hot tub -- perhaps the property's only appeal -- which nevertheless was too cold to use. The owners -- generally unfriendly -- then claimed this was our fault because we asked them to fill it up... (since the tub was only half when we arrived). The owners' son however, who received us upon arrival, was very nice.
Cons: This was, unfortunately, by far the worst place we've stayed at in Iceland. The room, common area, kitchen, and bathroom were all dated, uninviting, and partly dilapidated. Hot tub wasn't usable. Owners were disagreeable.
Pros: The staff was wonderful and the view from the hostel.
Cons: Unfortunatly the kitchen was dirty and the beds were dirty as well. We wanted to wash dishes and there was no soap at the property and we used our soap. The hot tub was not working and we payed for this hostel because if that.
Pros: The jacuzzi behind the house was really nice. Nice view of the seaside. And we were lucky to have the complete apartment to ourselves.
Pros: A very well located Guesthouse. Standing in the backyard or sitting in the Jacuzzi, you can see the ocean. We really loved that! The host was very friendly and helpful and we felt welcome.
Cons: The closets and the dishes weren’t that clean and there was no dish liquid. The interior was obviously a little bit older and partly broken, but altogether we had a nice stay and would definitely come back.
Cons: 1. The hotel signage at the road side is fading. 2. The guesthouse is old 3. Kitchen is not well equipped. 4. So unprofessional with a kid being receptionist and no toilet tolls.
Pros: Great location. Remote from the city
Pros: The lady who owns this property was lovely and so very helpful
Cons: Communal kitchen was a little small but perfectly useable.
Pros: The guesthouse is in a wonderful location ,with a great view. Kitchen is well equipped. The tub outside is a great and nice idea to relax after a day of travel
Cons: the inside style is old and not so cleaned . Need a restyling .
With a stay at Welcome Hotel by Snæfells Glacier National Park in Hellissandur, you'll be by the ocean, and 14 mi (22.5 km) from Snaefellsjoekull National Park and 14.2 mi (22.8 km) from Snaefellsjokull. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean and comfortable.
Cons: Location not that great as no where to get anything to eat unless you drive. I tried to book another night ( which I eventually did) but as there was no on at reception it took over an hour on the phone !
Pros: Excellent view from the dining room. The view was from our front-facing room was also beautiful. Supper was nice and there was a decent domestic bottled beer selection.
Cons: Room was very basic: tile floors, two twin beds pushed together to for a makeshift double, no iron, simple bathroom and the shower head stand wasn't properly attached to the wall on one side.
Pros: Location; breakfast
Cons: Room was a bit small for 3 adults
Pros: The self check in and out worked well. Due to my limited mobility we were kindly allocated a room near the lift. The room was small but adequate. Beds comfortable. Breakfast simple but good. Good value for money. No complaints.
Pros: The self checkin system based on a code system worked well. And having a staff member at hotel in morning for breakfast also works well. Good breakfast. And very good warm heating....which is very important for us after 2 days hiking in cold weather.
Cons: The lift system did not work sometimes.
Cons: No staff at the hotel. Poor maintenance. Poor cleanliness, old and stained sheets.
With a stay at North Star Hotel Snæfellsnes in Olafsvik, you'll be in the historical district, and 8.2 mi (13.2 km) from Snaefellsjoekull National Park and 8.4 mi (13.5 km) from Snaefellsjokull. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Have you ever had the very oddly specific thought of, “I wonder what it would look like if David Lynch shot an episode of Twin Peaks in the Winchester Mansion”? Good news! If you stay here, you’ll find out. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel...it’s just weird. From the non-existent staff, to the half floors that make you feel slightly crazy, to the slow elevator, it’s just a strange place. However, it was clean, warm, and comfy. I can’t complain one bit about our stay. Can’t comment on the breakfast offered as it wasn’t served until 8 and we wanted to be on the road before that.
Pros: Easy check in system, no contact with humans needed.
Cons: The place felt a bit outdated, bathroom looks like it is from the 80's. So there is a self check-in system, however it still requires you to be there before 21:00, which is odd.
Pros: Location and check-in and Food
Cons: Rooms too hot
Pros: Location, self check-in
Cons: The breakfast was pretty modest, will be great if the are gonna give some hot food
Pros: Rooms are big enough and location is great near many restaurants, supermarket and gas station...
Cons: I stayed there with a group for 2 nights. Windows are not sealed enough and creating noise from the wind blowing outside. Breakfast was very basic and not so choices
With a stay at North Star Apartments in Rif in Rif, you'll be in the mountains, and 12.4 mi (19.9 km) from Snaefellsjoekull National Park and 12.6 mi (20.2 km) from Snaefellsjokull. Featured amenities include express check-in and express check-out. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: The communication by the person in charge was rude.
Cons: I am not recommending this company! They will let you know in every email or message that you have to check-in before 21:00,write it in red with three exclamation mark. Our flight was late and we came in around 3:30 to Keflavik, then the car rental was a bit late also and basically our shedule to get to Rif(where the accomodation is) got tight pretty quickly and we could have been late. We tried to call them on the number they have in their booking contact but they didn't pick up. Fortunately we made it to the accomodation 20 minutes before "deadline" and we realized that this time limit is completely unnecessary as there is self check-in, you get your code to your door and thats it,no reception, nobody to talk to or get checked by, so it's only stressful that you have to get there in some made-up time limit. We came into the room and it was cold. There was only this smallest possible mobile heater which even though was on its highest,it had almost zero effect on the room temperature. The floor heating was broken and the heater was brought there to somehow made up for the fact, only it didnt at all. Another thing was- we ordered a room with wifi. There was no wifi in the room. We called them, they surprisingly picked up, told them we have no wifi, they said to wait a few minutes and it should be allright. After 15 minutes the wifi still didnt function, we realized its possible to catch it in hallway, but not in the room. We tried to call them again but they declined the call. We tried 5-6 more times and they declined each of it, also wrote 2 emails with the issues and they didnt respond, completely ignored us, no response not even the next day. So please,do not book this one, they are completely unprofessional, ignorant, and tourist un-friendly. You could have multiple other problems and they would not care whatsoever. We also wrote them email after several days to ask at least some refund and they still did not answer.
Pros: It’s a lovely apartment comfortable well appointed
Cons: Bathroom SMELLED terrible. So bad I could not use shower. Goodness knows what rotten things in there. Drain in shower blocked so when partner used it, water almost overflowed. No one could not notice problem. Shouldn’t be rented. No apology from owner.
Pros: Not much, it was adequate, very small, glad only staying one night.
Cons: Very difficult to get into the place, had correct key code and it went green but no go. Eventually got onto someone who very quickly gave us another key code and hung up.
Cons: There is no heater in the room which makes it very cold. There is no reception so it’s self check in and out.
Cons: The building is in an industrial area. The outside looks super sketchy, but once inside it was clean, neat, and everything we needed for a great price. The waitress at one of the local restaurants told is there used to be a grocery store and a hardware store on the ground floor. They are closed and that's why it looks so bad. The only other problem was the TV never really worked right. But we didn't come to Iceland to watch TV so that was ok.
