New, cozy and lovely spa resort hotel! Well selection of delicated classy glassy fabulous materials and declorations for touch, look and feel starting from reception counter, small comfort but grand welcome area, heartedly warm sunny breakfast room to each individual bedroom. Clear plexi-glass shower room with special designed glass floor-right at the end of the bed (seperated from the restroom by sliding matching glass door). woww... candle light, heart shape ornaments, coloured glass containers full of floating fresh roses and their scents are everywhere including the ladies' room next to the automatic exit doors to the convenient parking space. Excellent indeed!!! No big table for working!!!
staff, and the mountens and very quit for relax the road and distance from interlaken is far a way
Very Expensive. We had a modern room, however, the shower and toilet facilities are in the centre of the room. ie no privacy
Hospitality, friendly employees, decent impression
Friendly staff and good location Very small bathroom
the staff were very welcoming and pleasant, the buffet breakfast was complete and delicious The room comfort did not match the wonderful charm of the hotel.
We stayed in Hotel Chalet Du lac for two nights in mid February. The hotel was really lovely, friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were a good size and were very clean. We were lucky and given a lake view which was stunning. The food in the hotel was excellent and we were not disappointed for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The rooms were lovely and warm and the beds were very comfortable. I especially loved that there was a little wall heater in the bathroom! Overall, a wonderful place to stay and we would love to stay there again. There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel
Great location; wonderful restaurant, both for the included breakfast and for dinner, where we joined many locals who come for the great food. Not cheap; we paid 180 CHF (about $175)/night for a double room with lake-view balcony. Not their fault; just a poor exchange rate at this time.
I t's really a Chalet in front of a Lake. If you are on Honey moon or want to make you wife happy. I suggest you book this one.People are very friendly and helpfull. I enjoy it a lot.
we really enjoyed it, unfortunately only one night...
Everything is perfect. Location is not far from center, easy to travel by bus and very beautiful lake. Nothing
We loved this Chalet. It was so cozy and beautiful. It was probably our favorite place out of all of the hotels we stayed during the trip. No
This is a very beautiful hotel in the countryside of Interlaken, you can breeze the fresh air from lake Brienz. Three star hotel with good and clean facilities. The network connection is not that good, there's no use-able wireless, and only one wire connection in the conference room. People have to struggle for that resource...
perfect location next to the lake, free parking, great breakfast
Perfect location with complimenting staff.
The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. I particularly liked the fact that many things were not only allowed but welcomed (like bringing pets with you, swimming at the lake), this gave the place a pleasant atmosphere. No.
excellent staff, great location and most amazing views room furniture quality can improve but otherwise it was very clean
Awesome both scenary and cuisine.
Everything - view, staff, breakfasts, proximity to bus line, which takes you dfrectly to train station.
The location, right next to the boat quai and bus stop. The hotel's decor and atmosphere, which I felt to be old and boring. The lady owner's dry and rude demeanor, which made me feel not welcome. The way this lady speaks to customers totally offsets the very good efforts and courtesy of her son, who was very nice.
The warm hospitality, the location in front of the lake, and the staff who were the owners of the hotel made my trip to Interlaken unforgetable!!!
Situated on a lake with beautiful views. Service and cleanliness were fine. Room layout rediculous. TV facing bed, but no headboard, so impossible to watch TV, or read, or anything except lay flat. Bed backed on to empty bookshelves. Also lousy selection of TV channels. Only English channel was CNN, why no BBC?
The central location permitted ealking to all points of interest in the area. A minor problem was the traffic noise because we like to sleep with windows open.
Weisses Kreuz is very conveniently located right by the railway and bus stations and the pier (boat trips on the lake) and the start of the Brienz Rothorn Bahn. Our room was at the back overlooking the steam-powered Rothorn Bahn - great for children and railway buffs - and who could object to being woken by the sound of a steam engine? (they don't run frequently, so not a huge problem). Although the parking space is a bit limited, it does not have to be reserved (contrary to what the website says). The dining room usually seemed a bit understaffed - often only one waitress trying to do everything, including washing up behind the bar. Our bathroom extractor fan didn't work and didn't get fixed (though I have to admit we only reported it the once, partly because of the language problem) and there were a number of minor housekeeping problems - not worth complaining about, but detracting from our sense of value for money. The hotel advertises free wi-fi: it accepted the code but neither I nor another British guest could get it to work. I didn't bother to report this (language again!).
The location is superb. The room was clean with all necessary amenities. Staff was often busy and unavailable.
Nice view from the room on the lake side. Best location to ride Rothorn Bahn and train to Interlaken. Nice staff. Breakfast was minimum level.
Great view of the lake and across from the rail station. No services after 11PM. Old and small t.v. with only CNN available in English.
It is very convenient to the lake steamer, the Swiss National Railways station, and the station of the narrow-gauge mountain cog railway. I felt at a disadvantage because I didn't / don't speak German
The staff were fantastic, the breakfasts generous, the location gorgeous and convenient to transport. I was surprised how quiet Brienz is out of season, but it was a very enjoyable stay.
All was ok. I didn't find shower gel in the bathroom.
We got to the hotel late but the staff took the time immediately to ensure we got our room and a quick tour of the hotel. Room was clean, met all of our expactation and then some. We would definately stay there again and recommend to others. It was a little noisy. Walls were thin and it was quite noisy until late night (or early morning).....
Special croissants which were gluten-free had been made for my breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was good (dinner & breakfast). A good stop-over place travelling through Switzerland. Enough shops in the small town for everyday items. Not too far from Lucerne and its attractions.
Unusual friendliness of staff. Excellent "continental" breakfast (much more than croissant and one coffee). Nil.
Good value of the money, quick check-in/out. Hotel parking lot was full
Very kid friendly, comfortable bed, free parking
The staff at The Kreuz were very helpful and we would have stayed there again on the way back from Italy but they had their well deserved holiday for couple of weeks. The cleanliness was exceptional, thanks to the cleaners for that. A very busy hotel and the restaurant seems very popular with the locals as well so all in all excellent, Will be back if we go to Switzerland again. No.
Quiet location. Check in a bit cold as we did not speak German.
location, cleaniness, friendly staff, spacious rooms.
Nice and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. High quality restaurant. Good breakfast service. Internet and car parking facilities. Easy access to Luzern by train.
Clean hotel, great breakfast, friendly staff. Wish breakfast had started earlier so we could have caught an earlier train.
Attention to detail on everything that would make guests feel very comfortable, at home; e.g. plates of dried/fresh fruits and nuts in various places give a very warm welcome to guests. Simon's cuisine was definitely the best, something to look forward to after a day's outing in the Alps.
Center of village, staff attitude, close to tourist atractions, parking, clearness of room' rich breakfast room size very small
The hotel is kept very clean and in a good location to explore the surrounding mountains and lakes. Ample free parking for guests. If you plan on eating in the restaurant or bistro make sure you bring a book or because you will be in for a long wait. The food is really overpriced (chf 40.- for 6 shrimps in a plain curry) and some of the serving staff can't seem to motivate themselves to be friendly to their guests. Although in their rooms they promote the local water to be the best in the world, don't try to order a glass of tap water in the restaurant (with a 2 course meal and wine), they won't like it and will tell you so whilst pushing for you to order expensive bottled water. The hotel lobby gets used as an office by the management tohave difficult meetings with their staff, which can lead to awkward situations in which the guests are asked to leave!
Beautifull modern renovated hotel in the centre of Meiringen, with very friendly and helpfull staff. Great breakfast buffet and a fine restaurant. Our room was light, clean and pleasant to stay in. We would definitely recomend this hotel! A little fridge in the room would have been nice and the diner prices in the restaurant are relatively high. Because of perfect location in the centre it's easy to find an alternative restaurant nearby.
