Breakfast and location were excellent.
There could have been some soap in the bathroom, not just a tiny little bottle of wash cream.
Everything. The proprietor was very professional with a level of service exceeding that of many high quality hotels we have stayed in. If you want a high quality B&B near Edinburough we could not recommend this more highly. Probably one of the best and most professional run B&B's we have stayed in in Europe
Hosts are great, location is quiet but close to many attractions. Perfect if you are an Outlander fan.
Parkhead House is a real gem. It is a lovely old house situated down a country lane that makes you feel as though you are a world away from Edinburgh, even though you are quite close to both the city and the airport. The estate that the house sits on is both rural with sheep and deer, as well as bordering the Firth of Forth just to the west of the rail and road bridges. It is also very close to historic South Queensferry which has some great places to eat. If you want something different to a city hotel - but not far away from everything, then this is the perfect choice ... and on top of that, your host, who lives next door, is a great guy who is always available to help.
Remember that this is a small gorgeous farmhouse style residence with all the quirkiness that this brings, so don't expect designer style stone bathrooms and all the trappings of inner city hotels; instead expect the opposite, which is the very reason for going there.
Great place conveniently located 20 min from the airport - we chose to stay here for our last night instead of having to go back to the city which was so much more relaxing after 2 weeks of driving around Scotland. James is such a nice host and we had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We loved the deer park behind the house and how we could see them from our bathroom window. Breakfast was also ready for us early, which we really appreciated!
Located in South Queensferry, Parkhead House is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Blackness Castle and Hopetoun House. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
