This is the type of Inn you like to be, as seen in numerous English county series. An inn with a story within a partly medieval village. It has everything: comfort of a high standard, big terraces. Beautiful furnished rooms with spacious bathroom. Great bar and excellent food. Very keen landlord. Typical for the caretaking in this place: in the middle of the pub is low hanging beam: upholstered with leather to keep one's head in one piece.
Nothing can be better there.
Pleasant bar area and garden
I was refused a drink at 10:30pm even though a hotel guest by a sharply spoken barman, The 'wardrobe' was an old narrow cupboard The room was full of old 'pub designer junk' - books, ancient phones etc. The TV remote stopped working and new batteries failed to correct the problem TV channels were the usual 'freesat' selection but lacked a good 'SKY' tv selection like Discovery or even foreign TV channels for our European visitors
A very nice bedroom and a wonderful bathroom. The dinner and the English breakfast were excellent. The staff was attentive and very kind. Thank you.
Excellent staff Room was very spacious and loved the roll top bath
Fabulous pub with rooms . The staff were very welcoming & the bedroom beautifully appointed. The bathroom was very clean & well set out. We choose to have dinner in the court yard - great menu & excellent service .The food was beautifully cooked. Breakfast was served in the bar & again lots of choices & helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again .
