The Austrian inspired Trapp Family Lodge in beautiful Stowe, Vermont makes the perfect European vacation without the trip across the Atlantic. This Alpine-style lodging just a few miles away from the Stowe ski slopes is perfect for families and winter lover’s alike.
The Bavarian-esq lodge features 96 rustic rooms, with studio suites, and one or two bedroom options. All rooms have sophisticated, European old-world decor, free wifi, a shared balcony, comfortable bedding, jacuzzi tubs, cable television, and spectacular mountain views. Some suites feature fireplaces, mini fridges, and pull-out sofas.
There are four onsite European-style restaurants -- The Dining Room, The Lounge, Bierhall, and the Bakery. The restaurants serve farm-to-table dishes, delicious pastries, craft beers, and fine wines. Seasonal menu offerings reflect a combination of Austrian and Vermont cuisine.

Cons (-) I did not feel welcome. I was uncomfortable as though I was being watched by people at the front desk. It might have. Been slow because of the late spring but it seemed like we were the only news staying at the lodge.
