Jessie from the bar was great, makes tasty hand crafted margaritas. Bell boys and housekeeping were very friendly. When I called reservations, the guy was not helpful or accommodating (when there was a mistake on our reservation). Although, I did book via a third party, he was not willing to resolve or help with it. Personally, hotels should not work via third parties (like Kayak) if they cannot resolve a problem. Makes a hotel and their staff look bad. And could ruin a vacation for a family, couple, group of friends.
The view was fantastic. They should include the parking fees in the cost to stay at the hotel. $12 a day is ridiculous.
2nd floor room had a view of HVAC system. Worst view ever.
Loved that they had surf racks in the bell closet! The staff was helpful and responsive to complaints. The location is wonderful and I believe all rooms have a view of the ocean (we didn't pay extra for that). For the price, I expected this hotel to be MUCH nicer. It is very average and the bathrooms are sorely outdated. It was also very annoying that they charge $12/night for parking but their parking lot is tiny and you will probably have to park at the structure next door. If you do park in their lot, make sure you use the validation correctly or it won't let you out! We were trying to leave for a wedding and had to go back inside the hotel because the validation wouldn't let us out. Ultimately they comped my parking due to the fiasco which was appreciated, but beware!
Beautiful views and great staff. Next to both freeway AND Amtrak train
view of ocean, nice bar Didn't tell me no restaurant (under construction)
Great ocean view from the 8th floor!! Staff was very friendly. We were very comfortable! The floor was quiet. We booked through KAYAK and we're very pleased.
Dont have to break the bank to get a killer ocean view room. Clean, fast and friendly staff.
location, staff the noise from different parties was horrible
LOVED THE FRONT AREA WITH FIREPIT VIEW FROM ROOM nOISE FROM NEXT ROOM
The room smelled terrible and everything seemed really old. The train waking me up 2x's during the night was terrible.
Great prices. Clean rooms. Way better than I expected. Rooms recently remodeled. Flat screen tv. Very updated bathrooms. Simple but totally worth it for a single night stay. Very friendly staff!!
Breakfast setup is excellent, a great value. Happy hour is nice too. Big negative is the poor internet signal. The rooms are a bit dated, the hotel needs an update.
Great location and free breakfast. Very minor but tight parking spaces in the lot.
every one was very nice I really like this hotel....It just needs a little pick me up to modernize it....
Great breakfast for value hotel, friendly staff. We visited on holiday; hotel would be better for business/work travel. Aging property, needs maintenance, especially carpet.
Desperately need renovations. How can this property keep the Country Inn flag?
Great breakfast, abundant water in shower, large room, conveniently located. Quick response to fix a problem. A bit run down. Only usa today in am
Breakfast server could of been friendlier ... seems like he was more focused on "controlling" than providing customer service.
Perfect. Will definitely stay there again. Breakfast was excellent. Curtains are see through. Not that big of a deal just saying.
Loved the property. Part of the hotel has been newly rennovated and it is lovely. Definitely recommend
Great renovated building from a classic design. Easy beach access. Lovely grounds. Only marred by intrusive traffic noise outside. Not a problem inside.
The view was not good.
Bed was comfortable Worst Wyndham we've been to. Furniture was very old didn't match some of the newer pieces. The little bit of renovations that have been done, we're poor quality of work.
Evan at Check in was very helpful. The bedding was very comfortable. Nicely sized rooms and nice finishes. Close to the 101.
Clean room with quality amenities Right next to freeway with no sound barrier. 5 AM traffic was loud and made it impossible to sleep.
Helpful staff, pretty pool, close to the I5 I reserved 2 queen beds, but I ended up being stuck with 1 king. The room and facility showed how old the Inn is. Upgrades have been done, but it still shows its age. No counter in the bathroom.
Location and we attended a wedding at the hotel which was well done. Food at reception was excellent.. Wonderful location and view. Service lousy. Did not clean our room one day and the room of at least one other family member. Would not give a statement or receipt said because we booked through you.
The room was extremely comfortable and clean. The property is walking distance to the beach, however we drove since we had three young children. Parking was available for $10 and worth it.
rooms were very clean and well stocked. we loved the fire place and the wonderful view from our rooms patio
staff was friendly -the area was nice -the room it self was ok - even though u are next to the highway it doesn't effect the stay its a older INN the bathroom was just bad you can see that the maintenance on this place is not important the repairs that were done are terrible maintenance crew s/b replaced or their budget needs to be improved
Property needs a lot more upgrading to warrant the rate.
Remote controlled air was wonderful. Very comfortable mattress!! Best sleep I've ever had in a hotel. Construction was underway at the hotel so we had to park far away. The food was ok.
Clean. Easy freeway access. Frog and microwave in room. Staff available 24 hours. Right next to train. Bring ear plugs
Walking distance to downtown Some questionable people hanging around outside
Free breakfast with all the fixins. Close to main street. Inside lobby had a fresh 60s vibe. The rooms looked redone. Outside parking lot and face of hotel looking very rundown and tired. I don't feel like I got what I paid for. Could have gone to the motel 6 and paid a lot less. Plus some unsavory folk lurking about.
Room was nice and spacious for my family. Excellent location from beach and downtown area. Excellent value
Room looked like it was recently remodeled. Room was located next to train tracks. Didn't notice at night but In the evening.
Best Western Inn was a great place to stay for get-away weekend. The whole staff was friendly and also very helpful with giving tips for where to go during our stay.
Clean and comfortable
friendly, helpful staff....especially Alice!
The room was clean and appeared recently renovated. I liked the microwave and refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was a plus. I heard the train both nights as I arrived at the hotel, but not while I was in my room.
Clean room & friendly staff no view
Awful smell outside and tap water - sewer smell. Older hotel, was disappointing. Staff = great!
Very friendly staff Room smelled a little stale, but was very comfortable. Have stayed at comparable hotels in similar areas for a lot less than $178 a night.
Convenient, nice harbor, happy restaurant open for Xmas. Long hall way on 2nd floor running kids; Luke warm jacuzi
Close to the hsrbor with view of some boats. Room felt freshly remodeled. Shower was great. Tv had a menu where you could jump channels but no program descriptions. Jacuzzi was worth it. Surprised with a $10 overnight parking charge.
Excellent and helpful staff. Very slow wifi .
Great staff, breakfast included clean. plenty of parking. Overall a pleasant stay. Great value for your traveling dollar. I would stay there again. The internet! Oh. my. god. it was slow! Practically useless. I had to use my iPhone as a mobile hotspot to get decent internet. Used Speedtest.net to get the numbers: 0.28 Mbps down / 0.10 Mbps up with a ping of 31ms. Strong wi-fi signal, though. Notified the staff, so hopefully they will have it fixed soon.
Clean, with no apparent flaws, except for what I listed. The rooms were tight when I arrived. When I opened the room, a stale smell of smoke greeted me. I looked at the TV cabinet and saw an ashtray. I lived with it knowing how full it was. Upon leaving I asked the front desk staff whether this room had ever been used for smoking. She replied "no, but I would give you credit to your account, but you booked though Kayak and we cannot help you". This was the frustrating part.
Close to the freeway and great value for the money. Nothing fun to do within walking distance.
I like the friendly people at the lobby n the room were clean I would defenaly would stay again at this hotel Nothing bad yo ssy
Once we finally got the room we paid for, it was spacious and clean. And it's dog friendly. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They didn't have the room we booked when we arrived, so we were put into a terrible double that they claimed was non-smoking but smelled strongly of smoke (and was wedged between nonsmoking rooms). The beds were canoes and the pillows were equally uncomfortable. The poor girl handling reception was apparently the only employee working at the time and the check-in line was several families strong. I had to return to the front desk because the first two sets of key cards completely didn't work. While the staff was great, they were definitely overworked. The whole place seemed mismanaged.
Liked that it was close to what we were doing Didn't like the $75.00 incidental fee that the hotel charged that wasn't mentioned until I checked in
Comfortable and large rooms. Clean pools. Several activities for children. Close to paved bicycle and walking trail. On the beach front. Black mold on window hardware. Leaf blower noise at 8am daily.
Everything else was really great, bed very comfortable, linens very new and fresh, pool huge and pretty green area, SuPER close to beach (walking distance), kind and responsive hotel staff, etc. Bathrobes upon request; bathtub had a few hairs around the drain that escaped the cleaning.
I liked that it was walking distance to the beach. I also liked the low price compared to properties in the area. The pool was very small and crowded. The restaurant was very expensive and mediocre. However, for the price, the facility was nice.
Friendly, clean &close to the beach. Had to pay for parking & Internet.... at almost 300 $$a night
Location, cleanses, Stuff are not well trained, does not know answer when some asks a question, then just say some but was not correct.
Conveniently located, neat and clean, nice room Could not get internet to work
the king size bed, the shower, the big flat tv the color of the lights. I know tthis is a detail but this could be changed in order to have a more cozy room
The staff were extremely friendly/helpful with suggestions regarding where to go in town for nice restaurants, groceries, etc. The room was clean, stylishly decorated, and comfortable. The only thing that was missing were kleenexes.
My stay at the hotel was a pleasant time. At first I was a little worried because the outside wasn't what I imagined, but once I entered our room, it was very nice inside. My Boyfriend and I got that room because we were going to the Channel Island. The hotel was close (10 mins away) from the pier and it was a really good price. The room exceeded my expectation. I wouldn't mind staying there again. Upon our arrival, the sign was messed up, it didnt my the hotel look pleasant, and parking was a little tight, but overall, there was nothing to complain about the inside of the room and that is what's most important.
Clean room. Comfy enough bed. I talked to the owner for a bit. I really appreciate that he is actively renovating to fancy the place up, and doing a great job of it too. Don't judge this place based on the street view! Nothing. More than expected, especially for the money.
The rooms are remodeled Oct 2010. Large flat screen TVs. Nice soft comfy beds.
The rooms have been remodeled for functionality.Good price for a room with a full kitchen. It is located central to the area and has a nice size flat screen.Good for business trips.
Gentleman at front desk was informative & courteous. Bed blankets & bathroom towels were stained (but not dirty).
The room and bed were comfortable and clean. No ice machine on site.
Clean room, comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Very pleasant experience overall. Nothing major. The Lysol they use to clean room between guests is a bit too pungent when walking in. Opening window for an he clears it up. Not a huge issue
The room was very clean and appeared to be recently refurbished. The bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Wireless internet was reliable and fast. Window and door locks could be more secure. Parking was inadequate. No shampoo provided by hotel. Motel is located in a neighborhood past its prime.
very nice staff, helped me with all kind of stuff
The front desk girl Nicole made you feel at home and was very kind and welcoming.
Good downtown location Advertised wine and cheese served which was not the case, no internet available in rooms, rooms could use updating.
Was close to main street, freeway access. 1. Small round toilet seat installed on large elongated oval toilet was strange. 2. Water damage in bathroom between tub & wall with black mold was gross. 3. The only chair in room was a hard wood dining room type chair. 4. With reservations, it took 10 minutes for desk clerk to get checked in. 5. Skipped the breakfast offered, its the worst of any motel I have ever stayed at. 6. Homeless around the hotel parking lot.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The shower in my room was broken, and the staff changed my room easily. The location was perfect! All of the downtown nightlife is walkable from the Clocktower, including a top notch whiskey bar across the courtyard. Value of accommodation for the price is exceptional. Free breakfast buffet was a joke. Paid extra for a "nicer" room with a balcony, was originally booked into a room on the first floor. Patio is different from balcony. My first room had plumbing issues with the shower. The type of issue that the last guest probably complained about. Since it was not fixed before this room was sold again, I was given a poor impression of this hotel's standard of service.
I've stayed here several times. It's close (waking distance) to downtown, restaurants, bars and the beach. Room was clean, great balcony. Breakfast is marginal but they do have coffee and juice and sometimes eggs if you want to risk ptomaine poisoning, LOL. Staff is always overwhelmed although they try to help. Ice machine never working but you can get all you want at the restaurant next door. Don't go roaming around outside late at night, really sketchy area although the hotel grounds are locked up tight. Parking is really tight on holiday weekends but they always find something for you.
They showed us to a adorable king size bedroom with a fireplace running! It was quaint! But we needed two queens. We got a very large room with lots of Windows! Breakfast had no juice. Hardly any food left. A little worn out. No mattress on the hideabed. No keys so we had to be taken to our room. Desk clerk was awesome though.
Great location to uptown Ventura and the beach. Restaurants are within walking distance. Very noisy so don't plan to get a good night sleep
Great and helpful staff. Within walking distance to downtown and beach front, literally a block away. Wonderful location. Definately coming back. Some homeless around the area but they're really peaceful and keep to themselves. Nothing to worry about :)
It was close to the start of the race It was old and dirty. The bathroom door wouldn't close. The tv had no chanels. The carpet was dirty. The furniture was old and beat up a the drawer on the chest of drawers was stuck. I didn't feel like they every cleaned the rooms just once overestimate the blankets... Maybe
Great location right in heart of downtown old town Clubs Restaurants night life walking distance Cool park adjacent to hotel local transients hanging out but harmless Close to beach and fwy Place has been great in the past lots of nice plants around patio and autrium Breakfast used to be good real eggs bacon sausage Now cheap as could be Super continental generic pastries if management could make cheaper I'm sure they would Went in morning to get coffee dispenser was out informed the clerk They copped a little attitude with me pulling them away from playing on fb I'm gruppy in the morning before my coffee just pissed me off I returned to my room to use the coffe machine there Place is a great price for what it is But don't expect anything to be completly right I'm not one to rate things very often take much to please But if u include breakfast and know it's sucks least have some fuking hot coffee for your guest in the morning I love Ventura This place has eroded management orsomething has dramatically changed for the bad here I hope the owner pulls his or her head out of there ass fixes it Place has lots of character history and charm to the city of Ventura to just throw this very neat partially converted old firehouse down the drain I hope I see better reviews in the future Save the clock tower lol Staff extremely poorly trained Bad moral Obvious owner manager has changed from the past I speak from the heart if you don't like my grammar or punctuation Too bad Is what it is Love America buy American
Location, friendly staff, clean room, amenities, very quiet. No parking due to an event next door we were unaware of. Given parking pass for adjacent lots but were refused entrance.
Nothing Everything was bad here, black mold in the bathroom free breakfast consisted of runny powder eggs stale bread and the creamer was out dated. The gal at the front desk was continually apologizing I felt bad for her. This hotel is next to a park and the parking is shared with a public parking lot that was full of homeless people. At night we could hear people fighting in the park which was right out side our room there was a 6 foot fence that separated the window in our room and the homeless people continued to look over it into our window we complained to the front desk but was told nothing could be done because they didn't own the park and it was a public area. Good thing we were only staying one night
Very convienent to the business address it was going to. Didn't like the fact that their computer had no record of my reservation through your company. Had I not called to indicate a 'late' arrival I would have arrived and found I had no room! A call to your help desk solved the problem.
The room and the staff Small off freeway
Right next to the freeway for easy access, an In-n-Out burger next door. Free breakfast at Denny's with your room rate. Clean basic motel, decent beds, lousy pillows, clean bathroom and a pretty good shower. Nothing special but meets the needs for a decent place to sleep.
- hotel perfectly filled our need to stay one night between LA and SF. - vicinity of shopping malls and restaurants in downtown Ventura - breakfast service catered next door was OK - nothing negative to report
The hotel was very clean quiet and had a great location to eateries and the beach.
Very comfortable bed! Room very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed my two night stay. Would definitely stay at this motel again. Did not dislike anything!
Good base for exploring the area North of LA. Free internet access plus printing facilities.
Our daughters were given this hotel stay for a birthday gift. We already wrote you that they had to shell out their own money because we reserved this hotel online, but the hotel staff would not take our credit card # on the phone and we were not at home to fax it for them. That soured and ruined their stay. Please read our other email to you written last Monday. See above and the previous email to you.
The king sized bed was very nice. This is a very straightforward hotel. It's a place to sleep and shower. The staff was very polite and kind. The room was clean.
The pillows were awful. Allegedly there were soft and firmer options but all were uncomfortable and everyone in my group woke up with neck pain. The room smelled like mildew, despite us opening the window and leaving the air on when we went to dinner. The walls are made of paper and we could hear everyone nearby. Only saving grace is In and Out Burger in the neighboring parking lot. Not worth the inflated price for Valentine's day weekend. Hope your stay is better than ours.
The room was clean. The staff was friendly. It was close to the beach.
Only complaint I have is there were no towels in the room and I had to phone for them which was a bit disappointing as I'd driven from San Francisco and just wanted a shower and go to bed. They did however bring them promptly.
The location was amazing. There is a walking overpass that takes you right to Ventura pier. Staff was very friendly, rooms were very clea, and it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept on. My kids loved the pool. Don't let the outside fool you, it's very clean!
Location, Train noise
The room was very clean and I liked how close I was to the beach. I wish it had a refrigerator, there was a family staying next to us that were obnoxious.
Your staff are lovelyI'm .There was sand in our bed when I pulled down the covers. We hadn't beeN to the beach...
Loved that the night girl who was so sweet allowed me to request a later check out time and then the next day staff also even gave is an extra 30 min. Very nice of them all to do. WONDERFUL area for dogs potty. Cigg holes on comforter, non smoking room had ashtray and smelt like smoke , door had to be slammed really hard to shut properly
The proximity to the beach, the room's comfortability was standard. Previous occupants of our room smoked in the bathroom, despite our request for a non smoking room
Staff was friendly on both check-in and check-out. The room looked exactly like the pictures on line, so there was no surprises. There wasn't enough towels. Although we had the air set for 68 it still felt humid and the blankets were really thin. Only ice machine was located by the front desk.
Close to beach Rooms are way to small for a family...Showers to small.
Came across one sweetes treceptionist. Good price It says it's a nonsmoker yet it still kinda have a bit of a cigarette smell
This hotel, overall was pretty nice. It was a pretty nice location, right by the harbor. It did seem a little outdated. The staff was pretty nice, although we didn't really have a lot of contact with them. The breakfast was okay, but there was such limited seating we had to eat in the outside area, which was locked from the inside. Other people were able to let you in, but I would hate to see what would happen once those people had left.
The room was great. They upgraded us to a room with a view of the harbor at no extra cost. Bed was a little firm but not bad. Price of room included self serve breakfast.
My husband and I stayed here in 2007. We arrived at 11:30 am and was told we can't check in. We informed the desk clerk we were going to a Santa Cruz Island cruise and would not return till after 5 pm. She told us there wouldn't be a problem since we had reservation. Upon return, no room for us. Checked us in a room that was not what we reserved. Then they threw someone out of their room so we could have their room. I guessed the former guest was so pissed off, they dumped water all over the bed. We left to go to dinner, when returned, they gave our room to someone else. Our luggage were all over their office and some of our personal belongings were still in the room. No apology, nothing. We felt like we were treated like criminals. Will never return there.
I used to stay at this Hotel all the time - but like most thing in Ventura - This hotel is going down hill - I found they have all kinds of different room rates so if you make the mistake of staying make sure you work them over I paid $*+ and talked to 3 othere people that pd from $ *to $* for rm's- The Front desk the worst I have ever come accross rude and the management is just as bad - the room I had there was gum in the carpet-bathroom was dirty hair and all kinds of nasty thing around the totial sicking - we cut are trip short after our run in with this place - Don't stay - it's OVER Priced and dirity -
My wife and I just visited Ventura for the first time and this hotel set the tone for a great relaxing vacation. We requested a room with a view of the harbor and a balcony which gave us beautiful sunsets and a real nautical feel for our stay. The breakfast was first class with a staff that seemed to anticipate every thing you could want or need. Our trip was to short to see and explore the Channel Islands, but we will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to do that.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our room and bathroom were clean and roomy, the beds were great, the kitchenette was the perfect addition and the amenities were great. Our family of 5 was quite comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The free daily breakfast was good with a nice variety. The only drawbacks are that the pool is actually located at the Four Points Sheraton next door to the Holiday Inn, so you have to walk next door, and our room faced east and the view off our patio was a high stucco wall. Otherwise, the harbor is beautiful, downtown Ventura is charming, and Santa Barbara is only 30 minutes away. We would definitely stay at this location again.
The bed was super comfy & the room had a great view of the marina. We enjoyed our stay thuroughly.
We loved the hotel. It is definately worth the extra few $$ to get the Harbor View. The view from our balcony was great! The breakfast was very tasty wtih the hot entrees a nice addition. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was clean, clean, clean! Will be going back next month!
My room was upgraded to a suite. Everyone was very friendly and I enjoyed my stay very much. The location is perfect.
My husband and I do not live too far away but we love gettting away in Ventura. We love the location and the lovely view of the boats. The only problem is that this hotel is small and I often cannot get a room on short notice.
We could not have been happier. We were met by a wonderful staff that were available for any questions or needs we had. We had a great room that was clean and comfortable. A full breakfast was included in our stay. Bay windows overlooked the marina. We're makiong plans to go back in a few weeks! Excellent value!
The staff was very friendly, available and helpful. Nice to have full kitchen! The street it's on can be a bit loud if you are near the front.
The reception was remarkable. Friendly atmosphere and service was great and you got answer immeaditely to all your questions. Room was really nice and big, especially considerung the price. Location is little interesting, next to used car sales, but don't let it bother you.
Great staff, nice rooms1
Rooms were large and clean. Parking was very convenient and property is located on street not too far from Beach and recreation. Suite was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly, very welcoming and very flexible. I would stay there again. 10% tax not included in price quoted on the internet
they tried very hard, but it was what it was!
The room was beautifully remodeled with a full kitchen and a soothing shower head and the staff was very friendly. I noticed a slight smoky smell in the room and the bedding.
The manager stayed till midnight to wait for our late check-in. He also allowed us to check out later than 11am. The kitchen is very convenient for a family. No coffee in unit.
Rooms have been recently remolded with a modern look. Outside run-down, needs attention. No pool or spa.
There was mold in the bathroom and we could not stay the second night because we could not breath in the room! Would not recommend this motel to anyone! They didn't even have a band aid.
Clean room for low price. Holes in Blanket, Big TV but didn't work properly, lot of Streetnoise, old Fashionated.
We got a free upgrade from a extremely friendly manager. The room was spacious, well stocked with jaccuzi and large flatscreen tv and above all very, very clean. The bed was comfortable. We slept like babies. Would recommend this to all. We stayed at the Luxor in Vegas the night before, but the Viking was better!
The customer service and courtesy was excellenct, they even up graded my room to a suite. The room had a large flat screen tv and a descent size kitchen, but the rooms themselves could use some upgrading. The doors would stick and I had to put some shoulder weight on them to open; the walls were thin and I could hear "EVERYTHING" from the surrounding rooms. If all you want is just a room with a bed to lay your head and a shower to clean yourself up, this is your place. If your looking for luxury you might want to skip this one.
Beach is beautiful, private. Open bar for 2 hours! Decent food free breakfast helpful, friendly staff Bike rentals!
Almost everything was great We had plumbing issues in our room and we were not able to put have movies
How close we were to the beach and pool, breakfast was decent just depends on the time you go, the room was big Only warm water in hotel, bath faust wasn't working right, the garden view we had a big pillar blocking it, drain was broken if you wanted to take a bath, loved the scenery BUT not worth $200+ a night
The size of the suite. The breakfast had a nice assortment of foods to choose from We had been there before, several times. The lobby is boring and doesn't have that elegant feel. The coast grill is the same as the lobby. We were in bldg. 2, no signs telling you were the elevator is, and our room, 310, is on the other side of the bldg. with no elevator near by. We will NOT go back to this property. It looks like the hotel is going under.
The room was very nice. Spacious with nice amenities. The free cocktail hour was okay and the complimentary buffet breakfast was awesome. I asked why the pool was closed and the employee said, "Some kid barfed in the pool earlier today". Perhaps some training on how to communicate with the public is in order. Although I did appreciate the girl's honesty.
Comfortable bed, working A/C, clean room, hot water. What else could you want in a budget motel?
Despite the fact that this hotel is now part of Motel 6, it's a decent place to stay in Ventura - right downtown and near the waterfront.
The man behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. At one point the cable wasn't working but we called the office and he immediately came to our room to fix it. My girlfriend and I are fairly easy to please so just the fact that we had clean beds with adequate comfort, clean sink and bathroom, and a mini fridge gave us all we could ask for to enjoy ourselves.
Satisfied with the stay, overall. Missing bathroom towels and the iron. Front desk was very nice about it, and apologized.
The title says it
i had to have a place to stay. there was not even a clock in the room to keep time. I did not feel safe there. Someone in the room next to ours was getting beat up the second night we were there. Many shady characters here.
We were surprised when we walked into the room. It didn't seem half bad, and though we didn't use a black light to determine how clean it actually was, the appearance did not indicate any dirt, however it was clear the bathtub had some stains the staff couldn't get rid of, and they didn't choose to replace the tub because it still worked fine. For the money, we would have been overall safisfied with our stay if it wasn't for one important detail: a working toilet. The first night the toilet worked fine for urine, and even the first round of #2. But by the next morning, #2 was not flushing. (Also the sink was not draining from minor facial hair from shaving). We alerted the staff when we left in the morning and by the time we got back in the evening, our room had been cleaned, the toilet seemed functional again, and so did the sink. However by night time with just urine (and very little (if any) toilet paper use, so as to not disrupt the delicate plumbing,) it was clogged by the end of the night. In the morning while getting ready, we of course had to urinate so we had to do it in the toilet that hadn't been flushed from the night before. Before we left in the morning we tried flushing it again, and this time it overflowed (urine and all.) We quickly threw towels on the ground to catch the waste going all over the floor, preventing it from leaving the bathroom, while we simultaneously turned off the running water to the toilet. We again alerted the staff before we left that day. When we returned, the toilet looked fine again. Long story short, we had 2 more days at the hotel that were pre-paid thanks to how kayak does things, and since we didn't feel it was a problem unique to our room and more likely a problem of plumbing for the hotel overall, we just simply had to "make due" (pun intended,) by using the toilet strictly for urine and having to use toilets at restaurants while we were out throughout the day, for our #2's. We feel like the ability to fully utilize the restroom that comes with your hotel room, is key to actually being able to call it a hotel room. We weren't mad at the staff because I would imagine they get tired of getting these calls and having to fix/unclog toilets all day, and they'd love nothing more than to have the problem solved for good, but the higher ups would rather squeeze as much profit as they can from what already seems a slim margin. Honestly, I don't think this is a problem with motel 6's overall (though this was our first,) so I would try a motel 6 again, but probably just not this one. (Oh, and no shampoo... Not a huge deal I guess.)
It was available Non smoking room had ashtrays and cigarette burns everywhere. My pregnant wife was bummed. I was just mad.
Overall good hotel. N/A
It was more comfortable than sleeping in my car You can't find this address with an app or gps, it's not on S Victoria but on Ventura Blvd. Room was shabby, frayed carpet, bagged up paint, bedside lights didn't work.
Folks were friendly Very basic: no wash clothes and no breakfast
