10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Very pleasant experience overall.
Cons: Nothing major. The Lysol they use to clean room between guests is a bit too pungent when walking in. Opening window for an he clears it up. Not a huge issue
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room. Comfy enough bed. I talked to the owner for a bit. I really appreciate that he is actively renovating to fancy the place up, and doing a great job of it too. Don't judge this place based on the street view!
Cons: Nothing. More than expected, especially for the money.

6.0 Good
Pros: LOVED THE FRONT AREA WITH FIREPIT
Cons: VIEW FROM ROOM nOISE FROM NEXT ROOM
6.8 Good
Pros: Beautiful views and great staff.
Cons: Next to both freeway AND Amtrak train
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dont have to break the bank to get a killer ocean view room. Clean, fast and friendly staff.
4.2 Okay
Cons: 2nd floor room had a view of HVAC system. Worst view ever.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Jessie from the bar was great, makes tasty hand crafted margaritas. Bell boys and housekeeping were very friendly.
Cons: When I called reservations, the guy was not helpful or accommodating (when there was a mistake on our reservation). Although, I did book via a third party, he was not willing to resolve or help with it. Personally, hotels should not work via third parties (like Kayak) if they cannot resolve a problem. Makes a hotel and their staff look bad. And could ruin a vacation for a family, couple, group of friends.
7.4 Good
Pros: Loved that they had surf racks in the bell closet! The staff was helpful and responsive to complaints. The location is wonderful and I believe all rooms have a view of the ocean (we didn't pay extra for that).
Cons: For the price, I expected this hotel to be MUCH nicer. It is very average and the bathrooms are sorely outdated. It was also very annoying that they charge $12/night for parking but their parking lot is tiny and you will probably have to park at the structure next door. If you do park in their lot, make sure you use the validation correctly or it won't let you out! We were trying to leave for a wedding and had to go back inside the hotel because the validation wouldn't let us out. Ultimately they comped my parking due to the fiasco which was appreciated, but beware!
6.5 Good
Pros: The view was fantastic.
Cons: They should include the parking fees in the cost to stay at the hotel. $12 a day is ridiculous.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: location, staff
Cons: the noise from different parties was horrible
3.4 Mediocre
Cons: The room smelled terrible and everything seemed really old. The train waking me up 2x's during the night was terrible.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great ocean view from the 8th floor!! Staff was very friendly. We were very comfortable! The floor was quiet. We booked through KAYAK and we're very pleased.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: view of ocean, nice bar
Cons: Didn't tell me no restaurant (under construction)

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean. The staff was friendly. It was close to the beach.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed! Room very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed my two night stay. Would definitely stay at this motel again.
Cons: Did not dislike anything!
3.4 Mediocre
Cons: The pillows were awful. Allegedly there were soft and firmer options but all were uncomfortable and everyone in my group woke up with neck pain. The room smelled like mildew, despite us opening the window and leaving the air on when we went to dinner. The walls are made of paper and we could hear everyone nearby. Only saving grace is In and Out Burger in the neighboring parking lot. Not worth the inflated price for Valentine's day weekend. Hope your stay is better than ours.

Pros: Room was clean, close to the beach

Pros: Everything else was really great, bed very comfortable, linens very new and fresh, pool huge and pretty green area, SuPER close to beach (walking distance), kind and responsive hotel staff, etc.
Cons: Bathrobes upon request; bathtub had a few hairs around the drain that escaped the cleaning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and large rooms. Clean pools. Several activities for children. Close to paved bicycle and walking trail. On the beach front.
Cons: Black mold on window hardware. Leaf blower noise at 8am daily.
9.4 Excellent
Cons: Under construction but staff and room, grounds and fitness room more than made up for it. Everyone accommodated my dogs. I am very appreciative of that. I will return if I get the job and will recommend your hotel to anyone who stays in Ventura.
8.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked that it was walking distance to the beach. I also liked the low price compared to properties in the area.
Cons: The pool was very small and crowded. The restaurant was very expensive and mediocre. However, for the price, the facility was nice.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great prices. Clean rooms. Way better than I expected. Rooms recently remodeled. Flat screen tv. Very updated bathrooms. Simple but totally worth it for a single night stay. Very friendly staff!!
5.7 Okay
Cons: We picked this hotel because it had strong reviews, but the reality was a room that I wouldn't stay in again for half the price. A huge section of the fake leather on the desk chair had the surface peeled away, there were oil stains all down the door from a leaking door closer, and the ceiling had water damage in several places. They had signs up saying they were remodeling (which is great because they definitely need to, but they're not remodeled yet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect. Will definitely stay there again. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Curtains are see through. Not that big of a deal just saying.
6.5 Good

As expected, I will be sure to let people know Four Points Sheraton is one of the worst hotels in California. I

Pros: Great staff, nice rooms1
6.8 Good
Pros: The customer service and courtesy was excellenct, they even up graded my room to a suite. The room had a large flat screen tv and a descent size kitchen, but the rooms themselves could use some upgrading. The doors would stick and I had to put some shoulder weight on them to open; the walls were thin and I could hear "EVERYTHING" from the surrounding rooms. If all you want is just a room with a bed to lay your head and a shower to clean yourself up, this is your place. If your looking for luxury you might want to skip this one.

Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Thin walls & noisy neighbors
8.2 Excellent

4.5 Okay
Pros: Cheaper than most surrounding hotels and close to beach
Cons: 1st room was already occupied. Beds were worn out and sagging. Lots of highway noise.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The man behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. At one point the cable wasn't working but we called the office and he immediately came to our room to fix it. My girlfriend and I are fairly easy to please so just the fact that we had clean beds with adequate comfort, clean sink and bathroom, and a mini fridge gave us all we could ask for to enjoy ourselves.
Rex Motel - Ventura - Bedroom

7.7 Good (846 reviews)
5.4 Okay
Pros: Charming old motel on the outside, remodeled room inside. The parking was roomfront, most with a carport. Management accommodated request to switch from 2 queens to a king bed. Windows front and back to let ocean breeze flow through.
Cons: NO COFFEE!! Many “local” weekly residents with “guests” visiting throughout the days and evenings. Other than a little unwanted noise, we had no issues with them (wife a little uncomfortable). Our room was acceptable to us, but probably not for many (we prefer camping, but were on our motorcycle this weekend). The “remodel” was probably one of the older ones. Sheets, towels, etc. were clean, but our mattress was old/stained, fortunately, there were several layers between us. With better maintenance, housekeeping and long term guest discretion, this could be a great little motel!
6.0 Good
Pros: The room is clean and quiet. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Clean towels.
Cons: There is no clock in the room. Night stands aren't working. There is no counter around the sink. Although I did't need a hair dryer, there wasn't one.

6.0 Good
Pros: Clean, with no apparent flaws, except for what I listed.
Cons: The rooms were tight when I arrived. When I opened the room, a stale smell of smoke greeted me. I looked at the TV cabinet and saw an ashtray. I lived with it knowing how full it was. Upon leaving I asked the front desk staff whether this room had ever been used for smoking. She replied "no, but I would give you credit to your account, but you booked though Kayak and we cannot help you". This was the frustrating part.
7.1 Good
Pros: The public relationship service at the reception lobby
Cons: 1) The bed matresses should be change to a firmer matresses as it is wearing out. 2) The microwave oven need to be clean as it has a bad odor 3) Aircon filter need to be wash frequently ( which I washed on behalf ) 4) Hair dryer filter need to be clean often 5) We paid a upgraded room but it seems no big differences are all upgraded rooms on the 1st levels ?
4.0 Okay
Cons: It was dingy, recently remodeled, but dingy. The breakfast was budget, the carpet was sticky and damp. If you are on a budget and must stay in Ventura, this probably isn't the worst you could do. However I usually expect more from LaQuinta. Won't be returning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and helpful staff.
Cons: Very slow wifi .
5.1 Okay
Pros: Once we finally got the room we paid for, it was spacious and clean. And it's dog friendly. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: They didn't have the room we booked when we arrived, so we were put into a terrible double that they claimed was non-smoking but smelled strongly of smoke (and was wedged between nonsmoking rooms). The beds were canoes and the pillows were equally uncomfortable. The poor girl handling reception was apparently the only employee working at the time and the check-in line was several families strong. I had to return to the front desk because the first two sets of key cards completely didn't work. While the staff was great, they were definitely overworked. The whole place seemed mismanaged.
7.1 Good
Pros: Liked that it was close to what we were doing
Cons: Didn't like the $75.00 incidental fee that the hotel charged that wasn't mentioned until I checked in
5.1 Okay
Cons: Stayed here in the 2008 and it was very pleasant. Clearly they have done nothing to keep up the property since then. It need work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the friendly people at the lobby n the room were clean I would defenaly would stay again at this hotel
Cons: Nothing bad yo ssy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were traveling with a dog for an event in Santa Paula and the La Quinta was close by. The motel was fantastic in providing a lovely room for my dog and myself as well as having easy access on and off the freeway. I want to call out Mason at the front desk, who was especially accommodating and suggested places for me to walk my dog, throw a ball with him, and even several dog-friendly beaches in the area. It really get gave me the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Ventura and it's lovely Shoreline. He took the extra time to print out directions to get to all these beaches and areas. Ventura is a lovely city and well worth a visit next time just for liesure. Would never have known how much it had to offer had it not been for him . He obviously takes pride in his job and is eager to provide all who stay there with anything that might make their stay more comfortable.Thank you Mason for making my stay exceptionally nice!
Cons: One of the few LaQuintas which does not have a full breakfast . now. Waffle cereal and toaster still good, but it is really nice to have eggs and sausage or bacon as well. It has been nicely updated however.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, breakfast included clean. plenty of parking. Overall a pleasant stay. Great value for your traveling dollar. I would stay there again.
Cons: The internet! Oh. my. god. it was slow! Practically useless. I had to use my iPhone as a mobile hotspot to get decent internet. Used Speedtest.net to get the numbers: 0.28 Mbps down / 0.10 Mbps up with a ping of 31ms. Strong wi-fi signal, though. Notified the staff, so hopefully they will have it fixed soon.
8.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to the freeway and great value for the money.
Cons: Nothing fun to do within walking distance.

Pros: It was Okay. Very nice manager when we checked in.
Cons: Outdated. Very close to freeway and railroad! The “breakfast” was not great. Some food to pick up in the office.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Only complaint I have is there were no towels in the room and I had to phone for them which was a bit disappointing as I'd driven from San Francisco and just wanted a shower and go to bed. They did however bring them promptly.

7.4 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly, and check-in was fast and easy.
Cons: Thin walls. I learned far too much about the couple in the adjacent room. It reminded me of the Marc Cohn song, Paper Walls. I'm not sure the owners can do anything to remedy this.
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: There was a bad smell in the room. Very disappointed for the money we paid and would certainly never rent a room here again.
Cons: Bad smell, cracked windows with perspiration and fungi growing. Really disappointed they rent with a broken window double pane with the fungus

4.0 Okay
Pros: Cigarette burns on bed, blood stains on shower curtain, uncomfortable tile floor, room was tiny
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Don't waste your time/money here! Overpriced for what it is - which is a cheap awful dirty motel with zero hospitality and rude owners. $75 automatic "cleaning fee" for dogs - asks to see service dog certificate (which is against the law as written in the American Disability Act). NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! Run down rooms in disrepair. Overall money gouging and false advertisement. Unable to cancel reservation without being charged $100. Worst experience I've ever had staying at a motel/hotel. Lesson learned - next time I'll spend the extra money to stay somewhere that is actually live-able and where I am treated kindly.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Very clean comfortable motel. Owner/operator is very efficient & helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily & are spotless when you walk back in the door!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Close to shopping mall. Family owed. Very nice people.

Pros: Overall good hotel.
Cons: N/A
6.0 Good
Pros: We were surprised when we walked into the room. It didn't seem half bad, and though we didn't use a black light to determine how clean it actually was, the appearance did not indicate any dirt, however it was clear the bathtub had some stains the staff couldn't get rid of, and they didn't choose to replace the tub because it still worked fine.
Cons: For the money, we would have been overall safisfied with our stay if it wasn't for one important detail: a working toilet. The first night the toilet worked fine for urine, and even the first round of #2. But by the next morning, #2 was not flushing. (Also the sink was not draining from minor facial hair from shaving). We alerted the staff when we left in the morning and by the time we got back in the evening, our room had been cleaned, the toilet seemed functional again, and so did the sink. However by night time with just urine (and very little (if any) toilet paper use, so as to not disrupt the delicate plumbing,) it was clogged by the end of the night. In the morning while getting ready, we of course had to urinate so we had to do it in the toilet that hadn't been flushed from the night before. Before we left in the morning we tried flushing it again, and this time it overflowed (urine and all.) We quickly threw towels on the ground to catch the waste going all over the floor, preventing it from leaving the bathroom, while we simultaneously turned off the running water to the toilet. We again alerted the staff before we left that day. When we returned, the toilet looked fine again. Long story short, we had 2 more days at the hotel that were pre-paid thanks to how kayak does things, and since we didn't feel it was a problem unique to our room and more likely a problem of plumbing for the hotel overall, we just simply had to "make due" (pun intended,) by using the toilet strictly for urine and having to use toilets at restaurants while we were out throughout the day, for our #2's. We feel like the ability to fully utilize the restroom that comes with your hotel room, is key to actually being able to call it a hotel room. We weren't mad at the staff because I would imagine they get tired of getting these calls and having to fix/unclog toilets all day, and they'd love nothing more than to have the problem solved for good, but the higher ups would rather squeeze as much profit as they can from what already seems a slim margin. Honestly, I don't think this is a problem with motel 6's overall (though this was our first,) so I would try a motel 6 again, but probably just not this one. (Oh, and no shampoo... Not a huge deal I guess.)
4.8 Okay
Pros: i had to have a place to stay.
Cons: there was not even a clock in the room to keep time. I did not feel safe there. Someone in the room next to ours was getting beat up the second night we were there. Many shady characters here.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: There were bugs because my to son got eaten up. Black mold in the shower.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The title says it
