No frills huge hotel. No fridge no microwave. Weekends full of kids screaming at indoor pool outside our sliding glass window. They finally close pool at 10 pm. By then the drunks from the weddings start yelling and talking outside by pool. No security to enforce quiet time. On a positive note the staff are great. Customer is always right attitude and very apoplectic. Larry, Joe Tom ERIN! We’re all great. Just an old hotel with minimal staff. Price is best in area during season. Bring a cooler if your staying for over 2 days.
Pros. Great for on site wedding ... convenient to many local restaurants / breweries and Old Sturbridge Village.. that’s it.
Cons. I rarely say a place is terrible & I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and motels 2-5 stars. We were attending an on site wedding which made it a perfect location but it was incredibly run down & rooms were gross - dirty linens, worn towels & moldy bathrooms but so were common areas - tiles in the bar were water stained and sagging- they’re about $2 to replace! The whole place smelled like an old musty motel. Also it is pet friendly and while that’s great for pet owners (not me) there were MANY unattended dogs in rooms that kept barking during day & night.. many guests complained about this including to front desk/manager. Front desk staff were fine but restaurant/ bar were either understaffed or overwhelmed. Any place that charges for a fridge is silly in ‘18. Other family stayed @Super 8 a relatively cheap motel across the parking lot & actually had much better and less expensive rooms. I’d recommend staying there .. its a walk through a parking lot to get to a wedding at the inn.
Pros. Excellent location for our purposes. Hot tub was functional and clean. Room heater worked very well in sub zero weather.
Cons. Bed was ok, not great. Mattress could be replaced. Breakfast buffet was really mediocre.
