California's Great America
An older motel in a mostly residential neighbourhood, well kept, clean, nice owner, great price, perfect for our one night stop over.
You can park in front of your room. Wittle motel is located near shopping centers and restaurants. I was able to check out later then the checkout time. The price paid for the room was good compared to similar motels/hotels in the area. The room comes with two free water bottles. They clean the room and do your bed everyday. Check in time was at 3pm, I arrived at 3:30pm to check in but i couldn't because my room wasnt ready yet so I didn't get my room until after 4pm. Many things inside the room are old and need to be replaced; the furniture is faded and had stains inside the drawers, the towels had rips in them & were worn out, the king size bed was squeaky. The housekeeping lady was using a shopping cart for her cleaning supplies, she deserves an actual charlie cart. Although they clean the room and do your bed everyday, there is no safe box for you to keep your money and/or valuables in, so you have to be cautious of what you leave inside your room while your not there. The lady that oversees this motel isn't fond of having kids and children stay here because she feels they will abuse the rooms.
friendly front desk guy, clean restroom, clean carpet floor...you have a fridge,tv,desk, private restroom, shower, plenty of towels, shampoo and soap
The location was good, but other than that, I didn't like anything about this place. I found a live cockroach in the room. The room was dirty, the facilities were poorly maintained. The walls were paper thin. Do yourself a favor and spring for a nicer hotel.
value great location.
Was clean and a perfect location for me. $--- Per night and no shampoo in the room?Wifi costs $2.99 per device? This is just silly stupid. 'Gauging' came to mind.I understand the market is tight and Silicon Valley is big prices.. But charging for WiFi? Come on - get real, this isn't Europe
Booked through Priceline with the standard search engine (no Express Deal or Name Your Price) and could have saved a few $$$ booking directly through the hotel website since solo travelers get a discount not available through the other booking engines. From the outside, the place seemed a bit shady, but the room I was given was clean and got the job done. Some of the guests were a bit noisy (two guys were changing a tire on their car right outside my door around 11pm), but nothing crazy. No shampoo so used bar of soap to clean my hair. No free internet, but didn't book expecting it. Very no frills, clean bed for the night kind of place. Pay little: Get little.
the staff were very friendly, rooms clean and roomy. breakfast.
Building and the room were both clean enough. Hotel is very small and quiet on the inside. Non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke. Wifi was slow and mostly unresponsive.
I just liked everything about it nothing really negative. If I had to be picky the fact there wasn't many movies on the tv but everything is HD so how can I really complain?
It was in a pretty good location since it does have a Palo Alto address and is right on El Camino Real. But, it is not right in the heart of Palo Alto near downtown or Stanford. They do offer a free bag of chips and free water (Kirkland brand) in the room. And, there is a coffee maker if you need it. EVERYTHING! This is a total "bait and switch". The website presents a cute, quaint hotel both through the photography/logo and language that is used. It is anything but. I looked in the closet and saw an old, used "Days Inn" paper cup (why has the closet not been cleaned out!!!), and it made sense. This must be a former Days Inn. The rooms are motel-style where they open into a parking lot. They feature a weak chain for the door. I was 1,000% disappointed, especially for the price. The website said, "our continually updated, one of a kind guest rooms feature plush beds, modern bathrooms, and a full array of amenities." This place is nothing like that description. It is not at all updated. It was formerly a Days Inn, and it looks like an old, out-of-date Days Inn that would be better in a low-end neighborhood not Palo Alto. The only good thing about the room is that it had a large flat screen TV with Dish Network. And, there is free wi-fi. The beds have no headboards, the pillows are bad, the bedspreads have stains, the lamp shades were cracked and showing yellow water stains, the furniture is way out of date, the hangers were old, the room is super small (had to put the luggage rack in front of the entry door to have room). The bathroom is bad – the door didn’t even close all of the way. The towels are like loofah sponges - very thin and really rough. I noticed wear spots on the carpets and the walls were dinged and nicked. And, sadly we paid $238/night - $270+ with taxes/fees (based on the language and imagery on their website). It is really bad. I would AVOID this hotel like the plague unless they offer a super, super low rate. The lady at the desk claimed that they were renovating (I saw no evidence). I highly recommend you wait until the renovations are done and then give it a try (but, only once you have photo confirmation of the end result). If their renovations live up to the website imagery and language (and price), then this will eventually be a fine local hotel. But, right now, it is not good at all. The lobby features tired wood paneling and very tacky decorations. And, they offer a "grab and go" breakfast, but it is super basic with plastic packaged muffins and danish. I highly recommend you avoid this hotel!!
Friendly front desk, clean room, extensive breakfast that ends 10am Monday thru Friday and 11am weekends and holidays.
Room carpet very stained, couldn't tell if it had been cleaned. No matresss pad. Faucets loose, black mold in shower.....
Located close to the Stanford University campus. Murals painted on the exterior walls in the inner court yard are an interesting touch.
It is a good place to stay..and nothing bad about it
Palo Alto is full of more affluent folks, so it was wonderful to find this nice reasonable family place. Wi-fi, newer bath and lighting, comfy duvet, and 24 hr staff to answer a traveler's questions. Variety of restaurants and a Sunday Farmers' Market to enjoy. Coronet added to our pleasure at seeing the grandchildren. Glenna
It had a siting room and a small kitchen( microwave, sink, small refrigerator. The heater/ air conditioner was in the siting room and not the bedroom. Somewhat cold in the bedroom for this time of year. I also felt the price of the room was somewhat high for this time of year. There is no workout room.
Quiet No access to sodas after certain time
The worst experience ever. I'll never stay again.
May not be the swankiest place around, but bed was warm and comfortable, and shower hot. Staff very helpful. Wi-Fi, cable, refrigerator, and airport shuttle. Wi-Fi was a bit spotty at location of table in room
The whole thing felt dirty, nothing in the room feels inviting. Also, that was the worst bed to sleep in, my neck is still killing me.
