9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to an apartment free of charge. The super long bed was superbly comfortable and the large bath great for a relaxing soak. The small garden was a little overcrowded with plants and no view. The property itself is approximately. 5 to a mile outside the small town up a hill. We are at the Smugglers inn a short walk up the hill. Lovely pub to sit outside and have a beer but the good was nothing to write home about.
Cons: No view. A little too far from resturaunts and bars.

Pros: The House was a bit offside, therefor it was very quiet. At Breakfast, we found out that there were more guests than just us, but we couldn't notice them, so it was more than quiet. The rooms very clean and the bed very cosy, for Breakfast we could order nearly everything and the stay is highly recommended!
Cons: Nothing to add here.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was an excellent place to stay in the country yet relatively close (10 min.) to the nearest town that had some very good restaurants. The food was great. In addition to the cereal, fruit, etc. one could choose from 3 different hot meals. All were very good. Liz was so friendly it was like saying goodbye to a good friend when we left.
Cons: Our sat nav had a bit of a problem finding the place. Mainly because the address is listed as a postal code and we were directed to a different location. But with a little effort we found it. After the first time, no problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cafetière in the room was a lovely touch as were the home made biscuits. Bed was excellent with quality bedding. Shower was roomy and had full size toiletries. The breakfast room was lovely and the choice of cooked items was very good and all local produce - especially the eggs from their own hens. Very nice welcome from the owners.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location. Excellent friendly host, couldn’t do enough for you, very helpful . Bed was extremely comfy
Cons: Wouldn’t say I didn’t like but as a suggestion have a fan in room as extremely hot. Also someway to be able to lock room when out as felt odd leaving valuables and no wY of locking door. Felt safe to leave with host but not knowing who other guests are!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem of a find. This B&B is one of the best places I have stayed for a very long time. The owner is a very pleasant and helpful lady and goes out of her way to help you. The breakfast was excellent as was my room. The cleanliness is excellent and my room was lovely and restful and very well furnished with lots of little extras and the shower room well that was AMAZING! A lot of work has been put into this establishment and I wish Dawn all the very best for the future.
Cons: The fact that I hadn't found Crossroads before but I will definitely be back for another visit.

Pros: Dawn was very friendly.. Put us at ease as soon as we arrived.. Told us to use her home as our home.. Breakfast was excellent.. Could not of wished for a better place to stay than here.. Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Cons: There was nothing here not to like.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a very pleasant 1-night stay at Crossroads B&B! After recently having an unpleasant experience with another B&B earlier this year, Crossroads restored my faith in this style of accommodation! The room was exceptionally clean, decor was tasteful and had all that we could need - generous toiletries, a selection of coffee/tea, fresh milk, bottles of water etc. The English breakfast was sensational + there are also continental breakfast options. Dawn is the perfect host! While there's no onsite parking, it is very easy to find free or very cheap spots nearby. The B&B is conveniently located right in the centre of the village and many beautiful hikes in the Dartmoor national park are nearby. The village has a great range of food options and locals are very welcoming. The property is safe and quiet. I would absolutely recommend this B&B!
Cons: We would have preferred a firmer bed, as we get back pain without the support but this isn't a criticism of the property as we all have individual preferences and others may well prefer a softer bed!

Cons: Too short a stay
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very warm and friendly welcome. The property was was spotlessly clean and tidy The breakfast meal was well cooked, and plentiful. Our host was very friendly and most helpful.
Cons: Because of my wife's mobility problem to negotiate steep stairs, found the additional stairs to the bed within the bed room area, very difficult.

Pros: My wife and I stay at a fair amount of Bed and Breakfast accomodations and this was one of the best. Dave, the host, is exceptional. He definitely goes the extra mile to make his guests feel at home. We also enjoyed the shared breakfast table. It was great to he able to converse with others over a delicious meal.
Cons: As a US visitor the drive into the property was rather interesting as it was a single track road with few pull outs and road side shrubbery that was long overdue for trimming. However, this adventurous drive should not deter your chance to experience the top notch experience Dave, the host, provides you as a guest.

Pros: The bathtub in the silver suite was perfect to soak away those aches and pains. The room itself was very comfortable, clean and bright. Great selection of teas.
Cons: At bit of a dilemma this one. No TV in the room ( one upstairs in a communal lounge ). I think had there been one, we wouldn’t have left the room, it was so lovey. 8.3 Excellent
Pros: The warmth - both actual and metaphorical.
Cons: Not really a negative but the location is really for those travelling by car or bike. I did train and bus so it wasn't as good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The thing we liked the most was that when we arrived Nathan greeted us and explained where everything was and their system for doing things, this was great because I hate that feeling of not knowing where to go or what to do in the morning. The breakfast was good (lovely dining room), the bedroom and guest lounge are very comfortable and the location is great. Dartmoor is just on the doorstep, Dartmouth a reasonably short drive. I feel I should mention the proximity to the A38 as I did have concerns that we might hear it when I booked and others may also be concerned, quite simply it's not a problem as it is the faintest of rumbles in the garden and not heard at all indoors - even with our bedroom window open all night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good location perfect very comfortable room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: Bathroom to small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, really lovely place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bathroom was very clean, which is important to me. There was a small bar with an honesty box, which was nice. The bedroom was fairly small, but otherwise fine.nThere was fresh fruit salad every day for breakfast and natural yoghurts, which I really liked. The setting with extensive garden and surrounded by countryside was lovely.
Cons: I would have liked nice bread for the toast. I am not a fan of ready sliced. The noise from the nearby A road was constant. If you live in a town and are used to traffic noise, you might not have noticed it, but because we live in a part of rural Norfolk, which is very quiet, it seemed quite intrusive. However, it was only audible in the bath, not in the bedroom itself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We received a warm and friendly welcome from Nathan and Kate. We were given a key to the front door so that we could come and go as we pleased, which was great because we were attending an evening function elsewhere. Our room was bright and airy, spotlessly clean and well stocked with complimentary teas/coffee. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was gleaming and had lovely fluffy towels. Breakfast was delicious. The whole experience was great. We would be happy to recommend Gages Mill as a great place to stay. Nathan very kindly gave us a lift to the function we were attending, saving us a tricky walk on busy road.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Loved it, lovely hosts and just what we needed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kate and Nathan made us very welcome in their home. The breakfasts were very good and the whole place gives out a positive vibe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kate & Nathan were wonderful hosts! Their property is about 600 years old and full of character yet with modern comforts and conveniences. Located on the edge of the moor, the setting and gardens are lovely and so very relaxing. And breakfast was delicious! Check out their website for more information! And it's a very manageable walk into the quaint town of Ashburton.
Cons: Not at all a complaint, but by way of information, unless you have a car your best means of getting there is by taxi.

Pros: A beautiful house, good size room, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in and great breakfasts. Stayed 3 nights and on the 3rd morning we didn't feel like a cooked breakfast so Anthony bought us croissants and yogurts. I would recommend staying here.

Pros: Everything!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good hearty English Breakfast plenty of choice and well presented. The owner Antony, was great, extremely helpful and was very attentive to our needs. The room large , clean with its own bathroom. For our room there was a choice of bath or shower. The Belmont was quiet - probably because we were the only ones there at the time. Security wasn't an issue and the locals were friendly. It was a good experience.
Cons: The B & B was located on a fairly busy road with no parking. However there was a council car park nearby, which was inconvenient and added to the cost of the B&B. In terms of the facilities we only stayed two nights so cant really fairly fully comment on this, though most basic things appear to be available
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice owners good breakfast immaculate property
Cons: Parking a slight problem otherwise a really nice :B&B
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, and very accommodating of our wishes for other things, such as avocado. Great recommendations for restaurants for evening meals, too. Very relaxed.
Cons: There was smoking outside at neighbouring property which sometimes drifted into room (so we could not have window open). The room was a little cramped with more 'stuff' than necessary.

Pros: Janet and Martin have bought the hotel in early 2018 and redecorated it very nicely. They are caring for the host, prepare great breakfasts ( try the English one!!). Martin will give you maps and advice on your discovery of Dartmore. We Strongly recommend this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our first visit to Eastwrey Barton, and we were delighted with our choice. Janet and Martin did indeed provide a warm welcome and generous hospitality. They did everything possible to ensure our comfort, and were very accommodating in providing a beautiful room for our son at a very reasonable price. Our rooms were comfortable, contemporary and tasteful, providing a high standard of everything required, and also had the most wonderful views through large windows of the large garden and Dartmoor beyond . The bathrooms were spotless, contemporary and generously stocked with lovely toiletries. Rooms cleaned and refreshed daily. Breakfasts were best quality ingredients and delicious. Janet and Martin were a great source of advice on the area, and unfailingly friendly, but never intrusive. It is their first season - their enthusiasm is refreshing, and their professionalism is commensurate with the most experienced of hosts. We shall certainly return.
Cons: Loved it all. Could not have been better.

Cons: Some refurbishment has taken place, but that does have the effect of making the areas that have not been dealt with look a bit tired.
