It was a fairly good hotel with spacious rooms. But the price was a bit too steep for what you get.
No air-conditioner or minibar in the rooms.
Perfect location 200 meter from the shore. Extensive breakfast buffet. Beach restaurant with good creative cuisine.
Some noise from the corridor probably because the door didn’t close well. Rooms are truly minimalist and not as cozy as they seem on the website. At the beach restaurant time between courses was extremely long (1x over an hour!). Prices match the restaurant’s aspirations, we paid 200 euro’s for 2x 5 courses with 1x matching wines for dinner and lunch set us back 100 euro’s for 2 courses with bottle of simple wine (both beach rest.). Eating elsewhere means you need to go by car so be prepared if elaborate cuisine in tiny portions & a formal setting are not your everyday fare.
If you want to simply get away from it all for a night en route to somewhere, then this is a typically design staged Dutch hotel with basic rooms and access to the lovely long beach behind the dunes.
Unless you're on the top floor, there's not a huge amount of point paying for the dune view, as it's not significantly prettier than the village side and you just overlook a well used path to the beach. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, there appear to be no other options, so be mindful of that if you lack transport and are staying more than one night. Be warned it's difficult to find, make sure you have sat nav or printed directions (not from the hotel's own website) and don't attempt to use public transport to get there unless you speak Dutch. The temperature was hot and the rooms were stifling - there are no fans and no aircon and if there's no breeze from the sea the night will be quite uncomfortable. The Wifi didn't work.
Cool, modernist design. Restaurant / brasserie area had big sliding doors wide-open to the beach access. Staff generally helpful. Daniella was outstandingly friendly and helpful.
no air-con so rooms were very hot (30 degrees outside). no view of the beach due to sand-dunes / dyke unless maybe you were on the very top floor. so"dune-view room" was techinically correct but not what was expected. i like minalism but this was a little over the top - one shower was so dark you couldn't see the soap. no bedside tables, no towel-rails. not much room to move around the bed as rooms were small.
hotel staff was friendly and helpfull, rooms were clean and tidy, dinner was excellent
by default there was nobody at the reception and the waiting time for someone to show up was sometimes rather long
