Pros: The Garrett Inn is probably THE cleanest place we've ever stayed. The owner and staff are very friendly.
Pros: Well kept, clean, friendly staff
Cons: Could use 1-2 floor lamps for area lighting
Cons: Not a thing.
Pros: Friendly staff and clean rooms! Close to restaurants and Deep Creek Lake, perfect for our two-night stay for a wedding at a local venue.
Cons: We had three adults in our room; adding a fourth person would've made the physical space a little tight.
Pros: Out of the way but met our need and clean with a homey feel
Cons: No breakfast
Pros: The room was very clean and staff was super friendly!
Cons: The bed was just a little hard.
Pros: Very updated for a family run Motel. Very Clean and comfortable. Great Location.
Cons: Ironing Board was too small would prefer a standard size Ironing board. But that would not deter us from staying in the future.
Pros: Clean room and friendly staff
Pros: The cozy atmosphere created by the room decorations.
Cons: On a busy street.

Pros: The manager was excellent about resolving an issue with the air conditioning in our reserved room. The cleanliness exceeded many other places we have stayed.
Cons: The in-room dehumidifiers were a great idea in this damp area, but the noise level of that with the window air conditioning units was rather loud. I'll take the noise over having a damp & moldy room smell.
Pros: Clean comfortable room
Pros: Very clean neat decorations. Nice owner
Cons: Lock on door need a second security lock
Pros: When we arrived, we were told that there was actually a quieter room available, if we would like to switch from the original that we were put in. The option was nice to have (of course we took it). The inside was very clean, the shower was nice and hot, had all of the essentials, cable TV, free WiFi, coffee, fridge, microwave, etc. Even had control over the temperature in the room. All of this for a great price...couldn't have asked for better! Would stay again.
Pros: Very clean cutely decorated room. Staff friendly and accommodating. Liked that the owner lives on site too!
Pros: The check in was very quick. The room was decorated in a unique style. Ours was nature and my friend's room was USA. The room was very clean and cozy. The property was within walking distance to restaurants.
Cons: Nothing could have been better.
Pros: The hotel was very clean and close to dining options. Every room seems to have a different decorating theme. Very cozy. Would definitely stay there again.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was great
Pros: Privacy, cleanest, staff friendly. Also they have decaf coffee
Pros: What breakfast?
Cons: No laundry facilities.
Pros: Very clean room. Owners were friendly.
Cons: Entry door did not have a dead bolt lock but the owners said new doors were on order.
When you stay at The Lodges at Sunset Village in McHenry, you'll be near ski lifts, within a 5-minute drive of Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Resort. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, express check-out, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Room was nice.
Cons: The beds hard, no blankets, only a sheet on bed. Hot tub was extra $45.00 a didn't work normal and dirty. Everything else fine.
Pros: Duplex cabin. Cabin was clean. Bed and recliners in sitting area were comfortable. Plenty of hot water.
Cons: Wifi wasn't very strong, kept losing connection(but it is in a remote location so it's to be somewhat expected).
Cons: No outdoor hot tub on all rooms, photos on booking.com are misleading. Also early check in was pretty expensive.
Pros: Clean easy access and nice outdoors.
Cons: Kitchen could have been slightly bigger and a small stove would have been nice.
Pros: My husband likes the bed more than other places we have stayed.
Cons: Better common area more picnic tables near grill/ table outside on porch to eat at, got my bathing suit stolen off porch and the neighbors were really loud at night. The office also had inconvenient hours couldn't get towels or toilet paper when we needed them early in the morning.
Pros: The size of the room and overall accommodations were great. Very clean! The location to nearby attractions was wonderful. Will definitely be back.
Cons: Telling the customer that it didn't have a hot tub. Not to advertise then show up dissatisfied!!! Very poor advertising. Never again!!!
Pros: Breakfast was not included. Appreciated having a refrigerator and TV.
Cons: We were under the impression we had booked a room (lodge) on the lake but we were booked on a hill without a view.
Pros: The cabin was clean and comfortable. The location and amenities were great. I had to change to a dog friendly cabin a few days prior to our arrival and the staff facilitated the change happily.
Cons: We (as well as a couple 2 doors down) got locked out of our cabin our first evening there. We both called the after hours emergency line. No one answered the after hours line or returned the call for over an hour. The other couple realized that during check in the agent was pushing them to try a particular restaurant. The couple called the restaurant and found out that they were owned by the same people. The person at the restaurant was able to tell us where the master key was located on the property. The manager came by later that evening and apologized for the emergency line not working. They provided us with gift certificates to the restaurant and passes to the local movie theater to make up for the difficulty.
Pros: Beautiful location for the 4th of July fireworks on the lake. Very private and clean lodge.
Cons: My neighbors were noisy.
Located in Reedsville, Modern Homestead Guest House is in the historical district, a 2-minute drive from Arthurdale Heritage Inc. Museum and 9 minutes from Hovatter's Wildlife Zoo. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room was perfectly clean and nicely decorated
Cons: The staff wasn’t very friendly, not rude just short, and there was no way to do dishes no soap or anything
Cons: Allowing pets would be great
Pros: The coffee shop, fresh flowers, cute gift shop, friendly staff, and the overall modern farmhouse feel give the property such character and coziness. Already looking to book another stay later this summer. Cleanliness was an A++
Cons: The bed in Unit A was too firm for us.
Pros: Helpful and responsive staff, immaculate bathroom, tidy and adequately furnished kitchen, an attractively designed and helpful guest guidebook, wifi, parking near entrance, easy check-in and check-out.
Cons: Traffic noise made it difficult for me to sleep - and I forgot to pack my earplugs! While the sleeping/living room was comfortable enough, it was completed in a mishmash of styles, colors, materials and patterns.
Pros: Very good job in renovating old homes and converting them into guestrooms. Owners have done an excellent job in helping to revitalize a small town. The combination of garden center, coffee shop, gift shop, and guestrooms gives this place a great vibe. Well appointed living quarters, tasteful decor, very comfortable and relaxing.
Cons: Personally, we like a firmer mattress.
Pros: Trellis was super nice. Room was adorable and clean and I felt very comfortable in it. Would definitely stay again, when we’re out visiting family.
Cons: The TV programming could have been better . There were barely any TV channels
Pros: Everything was absolutely clean and the apartment has such an inviting atmosphere. Even though we only stayed for one night, we felt very comfortable there.
Pros: Nice kitchenette, spacious rooms, comfortable bed
Pros: Great apartment, very clean, perfect for us. Liked the parking around back. Even though we were looking forward to eating in their restaurant across the street, we did find a great place just up the road.
Cons: No services. Had to use same towel / linens for 3 days. Was told that if we had any questions or concerns, that we could let them know at the restaurant across the street and they open at 9 the next morning. Then there was a sign on restaurant door that said they'd be closed for several days!

Pros: Location and we liked the pool.
Cons: Smaller than the last place in Deep Creek for the same money
Pros: Great place.. location is awesome..nice lake to fish and enjoy an evening stroll..
Cons: The pool was out of service due to maintenance..
Pros: Very upset, they wanted to kick us out after 3 days. They said it is booking.com fault as they overbooked and they needed the room for someone else who requested that room. Ruined a day of sightseeing and troubled the whole family
Cons: If the planning were better thru booking and the inn as to not cause such stress when a vacation should be relaxing
Pros: Staff very friendly pool was perfect
Pros: Quiet and spacious room
Cons: The limited lake access and not much sand play area for kids from the Inn, but the public "beach" is only a 5 minute drive away with a small fee to enter.
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It seemed like there was a lack of effort devoted to the some maintenance. Although the lobby restroom had a large soap dispenser, there was no soap. Where caulking was applied around the bath tub, it was done very sloppily.
Pros: Nice and quiet in back area where our room was. Very friendly & helpful staff at the front desk. Nice having tea bags & coffee in living room. Good parking & location. Great books on hiking & activities in living room area. Ramp in back area to roll suitcases. Table & chairs outside room. Nice large refrigerator in the room.
Cons: A little musty smell in living room area. Bathroom vanity could use renovation or replacement. Could use one more towel rack in bathroom. No handrail in shower/bathtub.
Pros: I liked the location of the property and the availability of a pet friendly option. The room was large enough and comfortable for 3 people and 2 dogs. It was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: I would like to have been informed about the dogs having to be in cages before I arrived. They called and told me of the extra fee for the dogs, but not about the cages. Also, there is a small kitchen, but no utensils or plates, just cups. That would have been nice to have. We were in a pet friendly room, which was clean, but the bathroom floor had an odor that was not very nice. I did inform the front desk upon check out.
Pros: Super location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool and grilling area clean, quaint and ideal.
Pros: Great location, the pool was nice, friendly staff.
Cons: The room was dark, and it would have been nice to have a light-admitting curtain as well as the room-darkening drapes for privacy but light.
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Beds where soft.
With a stay at Oak Mar Motel in Oakland, you'll be 4.7 mi (7.6 km) from Swallow Falls State Park and 10.4 mi (16.7 km) from Deep Creek Lake State Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The shower was awesome! Bed was comfortable and loved the refrigerator.
Cons: One chair comfortable, one not.
Pros: I liked the location and cleanliness
Cons: No disappointments at all
Pros: Staff very friend Room very clean
Pros: Great location.
Pros: Loved everything about this place. Parking lot and sidewalks are current with nothing torn up. Rooms are up to date and clean. Owner is very involved. He was on the property last night and walked over to check out our motorcycles. Very friendly and we ended up talking for a half hour. Definitely will be back.
Cons: Too expensive for the type of room we had. We paid over $100...was more like a $50 room.
Pros: Very nice and gave our family a very warm welcome.
Cons: There is an attached restaurant to the hotel. So on the weekend it would get busy. The restaurant guess would park in the spaces in front of the guest rooms.
Pros: The attached restaurant has the most amazing pancakes, omelettes, etc. And, the price was very reasonable. We highly recommend The Diner for breakfast!
Pros: Very clean and convenient. Very friendly staff. I will stay again when in the area.
Cons: The pillows we're a little bit hard.
Pros: With in walking distance to the meeting. Quite atmosphere . Good food in the 3rd St dinner.
Cons: Rain on the drive home.
Pros: We had a great weekend at Wisp right before the summer rush! The resort offered a wide range of activities, the rooms were large and clean, and the location was great!
Cons: The beds were not extremely comfortable, and we had trouble regulating the temperature in the room. (But to be fair, that could be user error!)
Pros: The hotel is nothing special, in need of refurbishing and updating but clean. You're staying for the great location to what Deep Creek has to offer, so enjoy that
Cons: Dingy, scuffed up hallways Older facilities
Pros: One of the best attributes of Wisp resort is its staff from the hotel, restaurant, instructors to ski patrol. Friendly, helpful and just pleasant and nice.
8.5 Excellent (304 reviews)

Cons: So close to a prison Staff was sparse
Pros: The window seat in the room was so nice. The bed was very very comfortable. The room was clean. The bathroom need a little more shelving around the sink but the tub and shower were very roomy. We loved the breakfast it had sausage gravy and biscuits which is rare for a continial bkfast. The front desk staff very sweet and accommodating and the housekeepers we meet very very nice spike to us and had smiles
Cons: The side door would not take our room key to gain entrance. More shelving around bathroom sink
Pros: CONTNENTAL BREAKFAST
Cons: FIRST ROOM DIDN’T SMELL TO GOOD. THE GAVE US ANOTHER ROOM.
Pros: Everything quiteness breakfast staff was great an very helpful loved them
Cons: The tv reception but fine
Pros: Great hotel if you’re looking for a place to stay in the area. The staff was very friendly and the location was quiet.
Cons: No fitness center.
Pros: Friendly staff, clean room, nothing super fancy, but nice!
Cons: Not enough tables and chairs for breakfast.
Pros: Very clean. Looks like it was just built.
Cons: The room was very small. This was my first time staying at a microtel. So that might be what they are known for.
Pros: The bed was one of the MOST comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Hotel very clean. Staff very friendly.
Cons: Location but you can’t do anything about that. There really aren’t any restaurants close.
Pros: We liked how accommodating the hotel was for our pet. Even though items were not brand new, everything was very clean!
Pros: Quiet, and Clean. Nice rooms and Staff
Cons: The location of the hotel is poor. There are no restaurants.
Pros: The desk personnel were nice. Check in and check out were seamless. The building and room were maintained well.
Cons: The cable tv did not function properly and we were unable to watch television the entire three nights we stayed. The front desk person came to the room and was unable to fix. A call was placed with the carrier to fix, but service was never restored while we were there. The only other complaint is that there are only 4 tables for breakfast. When coming down for breakfast at 8:30, we found ourselves wandering around waiting for a table to empty. Many people were forced to take their breakfast back to their rooms to eat. When staying on the 3rd floor, that is not convenient.
Pros: It was close to highway
Cons: Food choices but hotel can’t do anything about that
With a stay at Alpine Lake Resort in Terra Alta, you'll be on a lake, and 17.2 mi (27.7 km) from Deep Creek Lake and 18 mi (28.9 km) from Wisp Resort. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It had a lot of amenities
Cons: No breakfast on Sundays, not even a coffee stand
Pros: Everything! Beautiful location and so much to do. GREAT place to unplug and enjoy the family and nature!!
Cons: Don’t follow the GPS if you are heading west from Cumberland area. It will take you on the BACK ROADS of Western Maryland.
Pros: The activities offered (golf, kayaking, miniature golf and indoor swimming) were inexpensive (or free in the case of the pool). The room charges were likewise much lower than properties near Deep Creek and Oakland, MD. The view and grounds were likewise beautiful.
Cons: Nothing, really. Did not try the restaurant.
Pros: Great place to stay. Great staff. Good Dinners. Beautiful scenery. Many things to do. Very reasonably priced. Over all great property and beautiful drive in the mountains
Cons: Breakfast needs to be better- would love to see more entertainment for weekend visits
Pros: Bed as great staff in restaurant great
Cons: Carpet was wet and dirty. Air was not cool
Pros: It is a beautiful view and nice and quiet after dark. The restaurant was good. We will be going back.
Cons: Need more staff in the restaurant- everyone was very nice but we waited for 1 hour and 12 minutes on our breakfast - and then it was over cooked and cold.
Pros: the place is beautiful and awesome to relax. the private beach(lake) is great. the pool are is also amazing.
Cons: No breakfast included, the building need some painting.
Pros: This was a spur of the moment weekend trip. Alpine Lake was great. The room was nice and clean. The surroundings were beautiful.
Pros: Nice views
Cons: Breakfast quality was not very good.
Pros: Beautiful views Peaceful Friendly staff Lovely restaurant Pristine lake I plan to come back!!!
Cons: Balcony didn’t have chairs. It was a little worn.
Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful. We have traveled 3 times to this property since Spring and enjoy it more and more each time. The golf course is absolutely amazing well kept and a bit challenging. The price for golf is unbeatable worth the 2 1/2 hr drive. Dinners are good and very reasonably priced. Staff has been friendly and make you feel welcomed. The property has homes and cabin rentals. What we liked the most is you can Golf, Fish,Kayak,Hike or just sit outside , have a drink and enjoy the beauty.
Cons: Breakfast is not as good as the dinners and the service is a bit slower
Located in Oakland, Haley Farm Bed & Breakfast is within a 15-minute drive of Deep Creek Lake and Deep Creek Lake State Park. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a library, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
When you stay at Heldreth Motel in Kingwood, you'll be 13 minutes by car from Hovatter's Wildlife Zoo. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make me comfortable. I was able to check in quickly and sleep comfortably.
Cons: I was given a room with no shower capability and no plug for the bathtub. It was a little inconvenient.
Pros: It was just what we needed. Came to visit family and their house doesn’t have showers or air conditioning. The restaurant was nice too we had breakfast there every day if our stay.
Pros: Cleanliness comfortable
Pros: Breakfast not included.
Cons: No coffee available
Pros: Location was good. Easy to get to and close enough to stores, food, gas etc.
Cons: My non smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke. The bath towels were slightly bigger than finger towels and very scratchy... horrible. The hot water in the shower ran out before I could get even half through a short shower, the TV remote barely worked.. no guide and the TV looked to be at least 20 yrs old, the door of my room was very hard to close and it had to be slammed to get it to close, the fridge (though I appreciate having it) made a terribly loud humming noise constantly that made it hard to sleep.
Pros: Close to my event and good value.
Cons: The only real issue was with nats in the room.
Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: The sheets in the bed weren’t clean, the refrigerator in my room didn’t work
Pros: Price wasn't bad
Cons: Tv outdated, bed not too comfy, door had a big crack top and bottom, little musty smell.
Pros: It was clean no trash laying anywhere, everyone was nice and friendly and they have a restaurant right in the parking lot.
Cons: There wasn’t nothing I didn’t like about the property, everyone was nice. It would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room and maybe a couple extra pillows for the bed. I can’t say there wasn’t 1 thing I didn’t like about the motel or the property.
Pros: What a find! Located in the beautiful hills, stayed during the changing of the leaves.. Sunday morning breakfast beside hotel was perfect beginning to our day of hiking in the mountains. We'll stay again!
Cons: Need larger and more towels for a couple.
Pros: Remote for the TV didn't work. The wall covering in the bathroom was coming loose. The tub had numerous scratches and was dated. All in all the room needed a make over. The carpet had stains.
Cons: Fix the items above.
Pros: Very enexpensive and able to get in last minute.
Cons: Very outdated. Had difficulties with room charges (they fixed them but shouldn't have happened in the first place). Small room. Did I say outdated? Very 60's.

Pros: The location
Cons: Was run down and not clean
Pros: Didn't partake in breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is badly in need of a remodel. I didn't expect a 4 star hotel but it was shabby and run down. The room we stayed in was large but it was damp, everything we touched felt wet. The AC unit worked but was noisy. Staff was pleasant. Pool was closed. It wasn't bad enough to leave but it was close.
Pros: The tub in suite 418
Cons: At check in the entire lobby was leaking buckets everywhere. I had to place buckets in the dinning area. The pool was closed and the ice machine was out of order.
Pros: Comfortable bed. Clean room.
Cons: Breakfast - scrambled eggs were lukewarm. Electric was off for almost 5 hours, from 7pm - 11:45pm. My husband was there at 7pm when electric went off. Took a lukewarm shower, went to bed with no lights. No AC. I arrived at 9:30pm. Emergency lights were not working on one hall. Front desk said we could go somewhere else. It was too late to do that. Would have appreciated discount for the inconvenience.
Pros: Location was great
Cons: It was dirty and very poorly maintained
Pros: The beds were very comfortable
Cons: Our room and hallway reeked of fresh cigarette smoke. We had the hardest time falling asleep. It was as if someone was smoking in our room.
Cons: Swimming pool was advertised as available which played a role in selecting hotel but was not open.
Pros: Breakfast was pretty good
Cons: I was turned off by the stains on the rugs and The hotel didn’t look very clean in the common areas. Smelled mildew and would have stayed elsewhere if there were other hotel options
Cons: Not very clean.....door handle of bathroom was coming off....had to fix ourselves. Deadbolt doesn't lock and safety latch was coming off as well.
Pros: Large rooms. Free hot breakfast.
Cons: Pool was closed.
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Where to begin, the mold, the scum in the bathroom, the beds on wooden platforms, the COBWEB we walked through when we entered the door. it smelled as if it got flooded with toilet water and they did nothing about it. there is absolutely no way it could pass a health inspection and it should be shut down IMMEDIATELY
