That they had a room for us. It was not the room that we reserved 2 months before the hotel stay though And it cost 8000 yen (about $80) more than the contracted price. No explanation was provided other than the room that we resrerved was not available.
That the room cost $80 more than what we reserved. We were only informed when we arrived after specifically reserving another room type. They did ont seem to think that this was an issue but for a 2 might stay trying to find another hotel at the last moment for the price that we reserved for would have been impossible. Beweare when reserving at this hotel. It was more than a problem with translation.
best pool in Tokyo!
prices at the pool bar
Very professional staff, from concierge to room service, to housekeeping.
The fact that you had to pay $20 per person per day at the outdoor pool and $50 per person at the indoor pool. The only hotel I have been to, and I do travel a lot, where you had to pay for using the pool.
Very helpful staff. Helped us locate a camera left on the airport shuttle bus.
Equivalent of £30 for a single use of the good gym was too much.
* perfect location on the Ginza line with direct links to main attractions in Tokyo * swimming pool is a real asset for summer season (don't forget to become Otani Club member for better access) * Tower Cafe has a great view over the city and decent prices
price is a little different from the moment you do the booking depending on yen value in the check in day (you may get lucky or not)
Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower is a massive hotel that has a long history. It was originally opened in 1964 to ensure there were enough places for people who were coming to the Tokyo Olympic Games to stay. It was popular for a number of years, and underwent a major renovation in 2007, and is now one of the most popular luxury hotels in Japan.
This large hotel has 836 guestrooms at the Garden Tower. There are many different types of rooms in the building, including standard rooms and suites. Some of the types of room amenities that can be found at the hotel include toiletries, free Internet access, Italian bedding, and coffee and tea facilities.

The hotel also has 33 banquet rooms. There are 38 restaurants on-site. A total of18 of them are directly operated restaurants, and 20 of them are tenant restaurants.
The location of the hotel puts it right in Tokyo, so guests will find that getting to all of the various areas that they want to visit and explore should be easy. Some destinations will be reachable on foot, and others will be just a short drive away. They can see the Tokyo Imperial Palace and more.
