Comfortable rooms, efficient wi-fi connection, friendly staff, large car park and good value for money: very good hotel for business travellers.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. On the exterior it doesn't look so inviting, however inside was spacious and modern. we had a family suite which was large and comfortable. the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant meals were very good. From a family point of view the location is very close to a brilliant playground - adventure town, and also pools and waterslides etc. which it wasn't warm enough for us to try. It is minutes drive from centre of town. no negative comments to make about our stayat this hotel. We enjoyed it.
I do not have any complaint on this hotel. It was a better hotel than I was thinking. It's not the hotel's failure. Just that the location was further outside the city than I thought. It was excellent if I had a car.
helpful staff and good massage facilities
We were treated with courtesy by the efficient and helpful staff. Facilities and comfort were excellent. The room had a nice balcony with a pleasant view of the lake across the road. It was quiet and peaceful. The restaurant had good opening times. The breakfast arrangements were good with a wide range of food and drinks. The Hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the town centre and was convenient for restaurants, cafes, shopping and sightseeing.
Jacuzzi Two beds, not one big
Spacious room, porch with door, view of lake and hills, food was excellent. No in room coffee, internet service was not working, mattress was extremely worn and uncomfortable, few tv channels.
The free on-site parking was very convenient for us.
The staff were very pleasant and spoke English well. Any requests made were swiftly met. The food was nicely prepared and presented. Good value for money. Perhaps just a little too far to walk into the town centre (not really a problem as taxis are reasonably priced)
Hotel services and facilities were good. Made the stay easy and relaxing. Staff were very helpful. Quiet location. Although the hotel isn't far out of the centre of the town, the walk back to the hotel at night is quite dark and not something I would like to do on my own.
It's good, we liked it every time we stayed there. When we come to Szombathely again, Pelikan Hotel is definitely our choice.
Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Very nice rooms with high ceilings and spacious bathrooms. Excellent breakfast. While the spa/welness facilities are very nice (jacuzzi, pool, infra sauna and Finnish sauna) and clean, especially seeing as this is a city-centre conference-oriented facility. The salt therapy closet, however, wasn't as good as others. The best salt therapy rooms have loose salt everywhere while this room had two walls made of compressed block-style salt. I did not get that usual good, tingly sensation in my lungs after using this room.
Great air con! Nice pool. Secure parking. Good location. Restaurant food not great.
very efficeint. clean, and comfortable. breakfast can be richer.
Nice hotel, close to center. Helpful and friendly staff. Wi-fi not available in the room, just on reception.
Nice and comfortable hotel witth friendly staff. Good breakfast. Internal and safe car-park (free) Rooms on the main road are a bit noisy.
The breakfast was the best bit of the two night stay.
Very nice comfortable room.
Helpful and friendly staff, dispite lack of common language. Good menu selection available in restaurant. rooms were stuffy, due to excessive heat. No airconditioning avaiable and little air in room. For full English breakfast read ham and eggs!
Outstanding experience, tidy room, excellent cuisine, excellent staff. If stay in Szombathely then here. None
Pleasant hotel, very helpful staff, decent restaurant all at very reasonable prices. Our room was very spacious (it was actually a triple room, although we booked, and paid for a double). We chose Szombathely as a base from which to explore the surrounding area, which worked out very well for us. We would be happy to stay there again. As in many places in Hungary outside Budapest, the 2nd language is German not English, so if you do not know German, be prepared to learn some Hungarian!
Located on the edge of the town, so reasonably quiet. Staff were helpfull and had basic English. Its about 1.5km from train station and took about 20 minutes to walk.
All was ok, nothing special but no problems. Its a long walk from the bus or train station.
employers, rooms, restaurant, atmosfer, ....and many things are good
To far from rail station, hotel was not listed as being near to station
Nice staff, good location for visiting Burgenland
Good behavior of personel. Now problems at all, silent place with good restaraurant nearby.
it only served us for an overnight stay. the accomodation was actually provided to us into an additional building, called panzio, a sort of small apartment house which is completly different than the hotel itself or something proper we expected for a 3-star type hotel. The hot water supply was at inadequate pressure, bads were unconfortable, the towels were mostly threadbare and dirty, the linens felt a nonreasonable quality, and the furniture, although new brand, is tired and very cheap. That said, this adjiacent building called "panzio", and not the hotel itself, is very much overrated and should be downgraded accordingly.
Good accommodation with a pleasant restaurant and breakfast area. Good sports facilities. Well located for ease of access to transport.
very good restaurant at hotel. interesing food, huge portions and good value.shame it closes by 10 pm. also enjoyed using the gym, and good free wifi connection in room, or free internet terminal at reception. hotel is c.30 minute flat walk through residential areas to tourinform office on main square. buses stop about 5 minutes from hotel for a ride of about 7 minutes to town centre. i believed from net that gym usage was free, but found an extra 2200 forint on my final bill for two sessions...
The food at the adjoining Gerendás restaurant; enormous portions, helpful staff, and the best food we had in Hungary. The chanterelle soup and game stew are both highly recommended. The a/c was dysfunctional, the room (actually a suite over two floors, with a total of eight beds !) had not been fully cleaned, the hot water supply was at inadequate pressure, and we were (as far as I could tell) in an adjoining apartment block rather than in the hotel proper as anticipated. Facilities /may/ be better in the hotel proper : I cannot tell.
