It was okay.
Pool facilities were good and there was organised entertainment at night. We were actually placed in the RIU Costa del Sol as Covid meant the Nautilus was closed. I had high hopes having stayed at the RIU Mas Palomas (which was exceptionally good). This hotel however under delivered. Food was lackluster and drinks were poor. Service, whilst ok, was nowhere near the friendly approach at the last RIU. Everything was 'okay ' which is an overall summary of the stay.
Buffet was only serviceable. Drinks were the cheapest variant possible. Staff, whilst efficient, were not very friendly.

We were changed to Riu Costa del Sol Hotel,due to Riu Nautilus closure and placed on All Inclusive ,instead of the half board we had booked.

The fact that they only have all inclusive packages. I didn't find quality of the food to be up to a 4 star hotel standards. It was quite basic and lacked variety

Great location
Amazing location, 15 min from the airport and beachfront literally (not a private beach - you're given a card which gives you access to the promenade) I watched the sun rise on the sandy beach on my last day... Hotel cleanliness was superb - pool staff were always around to spray sun beds or wash them when not in use, the in door staff were more than helpful and attended to my every need.
Food was OK as there were not too many options (due to COVID). Room size was great, views were stunning (partial sea view) but the bathtub was uncomfortable to use and could hear music noises from neighbouring hotels. Hotel itself is outdated and there aren't too many things to do in the hotel nor the area itself, but if I were to want an affordable relaxing holiday, where I have easy access to a clean sandy beach and large pool, then would most definitely visit again.
