Great facilities, very clean. Good breakfast too
Fantastic location in the centre of town
Huge, very comfortable bed, excellent black-out curtains, and a nice, quiet luxury stay overall. We appreciated having the toilet in a separate room with its own sink. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent, service less so. Overall the feel was of a luxury hotel at a reasonable price. The laundry service was also excellent.
The Internet went out hotel-wide our second night there and was still dead when we checked out two-and-a-half days later. I ran up a lot of extra cellular data costs as a result. In the restaurant (La Touraine), the woman who maintained the reservation desk and took our orders was a bit rude and pushy when it came to ordering dinner, at least with us. We ate there twice and in both cases we weren't given enough time to make a proper choice from the menu and felt that the prix fixe option was forced on us. The second time we ate there she made an annoyed face when we came in at the time of our reservation. The other restaurant staff were just the opposite, very helpful and considerate.
This little gem of a hotel is tucked away on a quiet street in Tours. It has first class facilities & is located near amenities and the main shopping areas in the city centre. Wish we could have stayed 1 more nite to enjoy the facilities eg spa & heated pool [which opens till 11pm (a rarity indeed)] & explored Tours and its attractions. We’ll definitely return to Tours & stay here again. Will also recommend this 1st rate oasis in the Loire Valley to all our friends & relatives!!
Wish they had a fridge & small kitchenette in the executive suites for simple meals to be prepared on lazy days.
Very DOG friendly hotel - we could even bring our dog into the restaurant which was great! The dinner we had in the restaurant was lovely
Part of the Hotel is very run down and looks a little 'dusty'
Very comfortable, great location, easy walk to sho
Staff - very friendly and helpful
"In a lavish ""Grand hotel"" spirit, this unique establishment, redolent of history, has successfully retained its character, right in the centre of Tours.Opposite the town hall, our 4-star hotel is ready to welcome you following the creation of a spa and the complete renovation of its common areas and 91 rooms, which perfectly blend tradition, design and modernity: high ceilings, warm colours, some with hydrotherapy baths The restaurant has also been fully refurbished. Everything has been done with the goal of conserving and showcasing the authenticity and charm of the building, with the addition of deft touches of colour, chic and elegance. The spa and well-being area boasts a superb stainless steel swimming pool that places the accent firmly on modernity. The Jacuzzi, hammam and fitness room are perfect for a break that blends relaxation and well-being. The Oceania L'Univers**** Tours hotel and restaurant is one those historic hotels thats deeply marked by the illustrious figures who have stayed here, to whom the hotel pays homage with an impressive gallery of portraits overhanging the immense lobby. Thanks to the new colours, materials, furniture and facilities, our hotel will offer you a truly remarkable level of comfort during your weekend or stay in Tours."
