Friendly staff and clean. Very clean, value for money. Perfectly comfortable for a one night stay. Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly. Proximity to airport. Very handy location. Packed breakfast as had to leave before 7am. Great hot and pressurised showers, fantastic. Budget room. It was nice staying there. The air conditioning was good. The receptionist was helpful and assisted in carrying my heavy bags up the stairs to my room. Perfect breakfast. Great location. Clean room. The location to maccas. The location was good. Great location. Incredibly comfy bed.
What are the cons of staying at ibis budget Melbourne Airport?
Floor in room was very dirty. Carrying our heavy suitcases up stairs. It was like being in a prison cell. The “bathroom” wasn’t pleasant, and there were some hairs in the shower area. The bathroom is so small. The design of the shower, better to have something like curtain to avoid spilling the water to the whole toilet. Be aware there is no lift so if you get a second floor room you have to carry all your travel bags up two flights of stairs. It's a bit noisy. People come at all hours from their flights. No lift with all the luggage. Very low quality rooms, bathroom was a pod that you couldn’t shower in without getting the toilet floor wet too. Mould in the shower. Rooms were not soundproof at all, could hear anything happening in the building. Expensive for the quality of the rooms. The look of the building. The colour of the building. No curtains. Blind had to be either up or down, no in between. No extras. No tissues, only 2 teabags. Used all the small packets of milk on one cup of instant coffee. The bathroom size, breakfast options, no lift, and television options. The lack of an airport bus is a disgrace. It's a long walk from the terminal and not easy to follow along roads and through traffic lights. It's also not covered so pushing an airport trolley that distance (much more than the 600 metres indicated by the hotel) was unreasonable after a long flight. Added to that it was piping rain so I arrived soaking wet and with soaking wet bags. It's totally unacceptable in my view for an airport hotel to not provide a shuttle bus service. Smelt mouldy and was dated it was more like a backpacker hostel. The bed was very firm. Definitely a budget hotel. The power outlets to charge my phone did not work. I didn’t know until I woke up in the morning with no alarms because my phone had died. This caused me to almost miss my flight home. Shower. The quality of the food should be more variety. Also there was no service available to order takeaway. Had to carry heavy bags up stairs No where to keep downstairs despite staying for 8 hours Location hard to find Hard to get to/ from airport. Taxi wouldn’t come. Had to walk in rain and dropped bags many times and had to walk in road. Perhaps I should have read the fine print but for people with kids and luggage no elevator up stairs was a pain. Our air conditioner didn’t work. Pictures made it look bigger. Couldn’t even sit in the room and eat. Was hard to find to get to from airport especially in the dark. Since I had very heavy luggage it was quite tough to get the airport. Also, there is no elevator in the hotel so bear this in mind. Walking there though close is quite confusing you have to go around and under the overpass. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your big bag up because there won't always be a desk clerk that can help. Location in terms of very noisy. Extremely noisy with my room facing the freeway. Couldn’t hear the TV properly without blaring it. It is also over priced for a budget motel. Walking there though close is quite confusing you have to go around and under the overpass. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your big bag up because there won't always be a desk clerk that can help. Small room. A little expensive for the size (limited)room. The price was fraudulent for the paper thin walls and you can hear everyone coming and going. The rooms are tiny and for what you pay for a high end room elsewhere we paid for this budget backpackers. Very ordinary room but it is a budget hotel! Bathroom bit tiny good for one night. Seriously overpriced -probably playing on some alternatives being renovated. The tiny bathroom and the key card would not work sometimes. Small bathroom. Soundproofing inadequate. Not much sleep between jets and other guests. Just the breakfast issue. Bathrooms are very basic. Everything. Dark, dank smelling room with minimal ventilation Cost $220 for an even tinier room than it appears on the photos. Bathroom was prefab and damp, mould over the inside. Flooring pretty gross - gunky and nasty.
