Overview
In 1925, the 19-story Mayo Hotel was the tallest building in Oklahoma, attracting thousands of celebrities, political figures, and titans of the oil industry. In 1981, the building fell into disrepair, and in 2009, a $42 million renovation returned the old hotel into its former glory. It was hailed as one of the most remarkable transformations of a historic gem.
Located in the heart Tulsa, the hotel is within walking distance of the Cox Business Center, BOK Center and several restaurants, bars, and shops. Oklahoma State University and Tulsa International Airport are also a short distance away. In 2019, The Mayo Hotel has received the title of being the No.5 Best Tulsa Hotel, No.3 Best Downtown Tulsa, and No. 12 in Best Oklahoma Hotels.
The beautifully styled Mayo features 102 luxurious hotel rooms and suites that are well-suited for business and social travelers. The retro-chic atmosphere, bold patterns, and modern décor are unlike any other hotel in Tulsa. In addition, the various suite styles are spacious and thoughtfully appointed with a variety of convenient amenities. Select rooms at the luxury hotel offer incredible river views, downtown cityscapes, or The Osage Hills.
The renovation brought back the prominent clientele at The Mayo, but many guests find the hotel bar the most notable feature. The Penthouse Bar was once the famous Presidential Suite where Elvis Presley once stayed. It is still an elite rooftop location to see and can be seen today providing the only unobstructed 360-degree view in downtown Tulsa. The Mayo also serves full meals at The Boiler Room, which you can then work off in the 24-hour fitness center.
Business travelers, couples, and solo travelers all find their home at the historic Tulsa hotel and make their mark in history at The Mayo Hotel.
