Everyone was so friendly and the rooms are beautiful. A/c after a hot day was great. Ceviche to die for. Beautiful beachfront property.
Amazing hotel for a quiet time. The staff is great and ready to help with whatever you need. I would come back definitely.
Staff very friendly! Good location
No internet in rooms! For this price category its a real no go !! Room 22 is not what I expected as a Sea View Room Taking also the sargasso problem into consideration the room is clearly overpriced
Great location, right on the beach, sit down breakfast included, spacious rooms, AC worked a treat, the balcony was lovely! When I arrived, the attendant greeted me and gave me a map of places to try (had received the same thing from the other property I stayed at) and a porter took my luggage to my room. The attendant pointed out different areas of the hotel like restaurant, beach, massage, etc. My room was on the second floor and the staircase was a bit scary (deep/high steps) but it was all good. Only precarious when it rained and it was slippery. My room was HUGE and had a little seating area, a safe, a closet, a sink with a separate toilet and shower space. It also had a great balcony with hammock. It looked out onto the property/foliage. The beach cabanas were free to use and you could get drinks from the waiters that were very attentive. They would also come around with little treats like a fresh towel or small snack - very thoughtful! For breakfast, you eat in the restaurant and they have a wrap around porch where you can eat outside. It was SO pretty in the morning. Their breakfast menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I recommend the chilaquiles with verde salsa. They also have a different fruit juice every day, and iced coffee. I setup a trip to the cenotes with Cynthia. She was super helpful in getting that scheduled for me and outlined exactly how it worked and how much it was. I would highly recommend the casa tortuga cenotes! Overall, Hip Hotel was fantastic!
The rooms didn’t feel super clean - there were stains on the bed and towels. The towels were thin and not fluffy at all. The shower didn’t drain properly so water got everywhere. The toilets didn’t flush anything effectively, it took a few tries. It was very very loud at all hours. My room backed up to the main road and cars were constantly honking or vendors were ringing their horns. There was construction going on too so I could hear the maintenance team hammering away and chatting very early in the AM. I didn’t sleep well there and I think it was a combination of the noises from the road and construction. There was a bird that took shelter right outside my balcony which was also noisy. You had to pay for the bike rentals with a minimum of ~20-30 USD for 24 hours. You couldn’t just take it to dinner then drop it back off which made me not use it st all. Wish there was more flexibility there.
Everything! Staff was amazing! Food was so good! I didn’t know breakfast was included and it was a nice surprise. Everyone that worked there was so accommodating with all of our requests. It was the perfect home base for a perfect weekend. We absolutely loved this place.
I didn’t love the bed. Not the most comfortable but I’ve definitely slept in worse at more expensive resorts.
