Pros: Shirley proved a wonderfully welcoming host. The rooms are large and guests have the use of a downstairs lounge / dining room with TV, fridge with milk, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. The setting is very rural and extremely quiet, a few minutes walk from Rathdowney. We were staying over for a wedding at Castle Durrow, and Shirley (who also runs a hairdressing business from home) was on hand to blow-dry and style at no extra charge! Rathdowney deosn't offer much for eating out in the evening, but there are plenty of options in Abbeyleix (20 mins) or Durrow (15 mins).

Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was incredible...literally a 2 minute walk from the castle and historic center of town. Parking was simple...best thing to do is call as you approach the hotel and ask them to open the gate for you-then pull into the driveway right next to the front door and under the archway. If you don’t find a spot immediately in that area, drive through the second archway to a larger lot in back. Still no spot?..then just double park and give them your keys when you check in... they will move your car when a spot frees up! The desk staff are all wonderful and extremely helpful and the breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had. Hot and cold buffet style but if that doesn’t work for you then you can order off the menu! Fantastic! Thanks to the entire staff for providing us with a great stay in Kilkenny!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very convenient to explore Killarney. Super close walk to everything.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had an accident in our rental car before arriving to Bridge View. Emer was so amazing to us and made a very stressful time better. She gave great recommendations, and she made the best breakfast we have had in Ireland during our trip. The next morning part of our group had to drive to Waterford to pick up another rental vehicle, and she was kind enough to let us hang around until they were able to return. It was pouring rain and chilly, and she made us tea when we got back from the shops. She was an absolutely amazing hostess, and my entire group and I wish we would have been able to stay longer in Kilkenny. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hostess was as good as they get. She knew the city, inside and out. Her recommendations, suggestions and directions, we're spot on! Quaint 1860's B&B, located right on the river and a short walk to downtown. If you like talking to the local residents, I can't recommend Bridgeview highly enough. I'm glad we stayed 2 nights.
Cons: All was good.

6.0 Good
Pros: Great service. Room was as advertised. Bathroom very tight, but did the job.
Cons: The front door lock.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location for exploring Killarney on foot. Simone who served breakfast was lovely.
Cons: Building has timber frame so need to be in upstairs room not below someone. Had very little sleep due to hearing every footstep from room above at midnight, 3am and 7am. Host seconded neighbour to let us in so never met host. Meter parking only. Extra, unneeded bed in room made it very cramped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was so helpful and great music across the foot bridge ...walking distance to everything
10.0 Excellent

5.4 Okay
Pros: Location . Gentleman was welcoming.
Cons: Very dated. Shared bathroom with what appeared to be the owner as there were gentleman’s toiletries in it. Shower needed cleaned particularly the glass door. Single bed in a very dated sparse room creaked with every move and was very uncomfortable. No cooked breakfast available just shown he microwave and left two choices of cereal to help myself. No TV in room could use the owners living room to watch TV if wanted. The gentleman owner was very gracious and welcoming. Facilities did not match the price charged.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tony is an exceptional host. My wife and I were just visiting the area for the Feile concert. Tony was very welcoming and got us setup comfortably. He drove us from Templemore to Thurles to the gig and offered a late night pickup if we were stuck getting home (thankfully we weren't). he also made sure the TV was setup on the Sunday morning for Ireland's rugby wWorld Cup opener against Scotland which was really appreciated. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: There was no breakfast included and we did not use the kitchen, the location was good enough and peaceful
Cons: There was a shared bathroom with only a shower, no bath included, it could ha-sve been cleaner. there was no television in the room, and the sitting room door was closed i think host was using it, so we declined to use it because we didn't want to bother him. There was no en-suite in the room, or tea making facilities

Pros: It’s location and comfortable
Cons: Heating was on
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I'm not saying the Oakdale is the reason I passed my physical test, but.... it is possible. Tony is the man, sound host and a great spot.

Pros: The Auburndale BnB is a delightful place to stay . An excellent location for getting in and out of Kilkenny and a good starting point for exploring the area. The room was excellent , the facilities were sparkling, clean and comfortable. We even had the luxury of two bathrooms! Patrick and Teresa are excellent hosts. The Irish breakfast was scrumptious. The dining room was light and very welcoming. Tea and coffee ( and biscuits) were available 24/7. This will certainly be our first choice when we visit Kilkenny again.

Pros: Superb hospitality! Great atmosphere and lovely breakfast
7.5 Good
Pros: It was immaculately clean and tidy and Patrick was very friendly. There was coffee and tea available and it was a very good distance from everything.
Cons: The tv was too high and much to small for the size of the room. It was hard to see unless you sat upright against the bedhead. The shower was so small and was very awkward to move at all in it. I found that difficult to turn around in and wonder why there’d be one built so small.

Pros: The food was absolutely brilliant! Very impressive quality around the hotel. The house was absolutely lovely and the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Also the surrounding area was stunning. As mentioned below it is a shame our room needed a little work!
Cons: Our Room was a little shabby in places. The bathroom needs better extraction, it also was quite dated and needs refurbishing. Our room was also very hot being on the top floor. We have to sleep with the windows wide open for our whole stay. Also our large bed had 2 single mattresses with an uncomfortable join in the middle. The mattress quality was also not great, it seemed rather old and needs replacing!

Pros: The stylish and relaxed atmosphere throughout the entire manor house; The dinner at Lady Helen The surroundings and grounds

Pros: Reception area was lovely and bright.
Cons: The spa was a let down. Very small.
6.0 Good
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Wonderful spa area. Loved the "top to toe" treatments (thanks Laura).
Cons: Went to use the hydrotherapy pool facilities at 9am. Sauna was cold and no steam in steam rooms. Was 9.30am before we could use them (not great when you have paid for the facilities for an hour and then can't use them). Had been informed by the spa staff that breakfast was available until 11am on Monday but when we got to breakfast room at 10.20am, we were abruptly told by a member of staff that breakfast was being cleared away and that we would need to hurry and grab what we wanted. Disappointing end to our stay. We were then overcharged at reception for the use of the spa. Have had lovely stays before but won't be hurrying back again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed there many times, great location to town, staff very attentive, rooms always first class, breakfast a real treat!
Cons: Multiple search sites give different prices than their own. I'm not looking for a lottery.

Pros: The food ! We only ate at the Grill Bar and it was exquisite. The pool (not the one in the thermal suite, the other one) was absolute perfect toon. We almost had the place to ourselves. The bed was so comfortable - like sleeping on a cloud.
