Pros: The facility and location and the staff was very friendly and helpful
Pros: -clean -very spacious -has kitchen -bathroom has heated floors -restaurant on site serves great food, perfect post hike meals
Cons: - Lighting is dim -bit of drive from bessegen hike (45min)
Pros: Very nice location. Lovely chalet style houses. Cows walking just in front of your door. Beautiful area for hiking.
Cons: We would have liked to stay longer, but we needed to leave. Will come back.
Pros: Check-in/out was really easy and the staff was super friendly! The cabin was very nice, impeccably clean and very well conserved (it looked brand new!). The kitchen was very well equipped and we cooked some meals there. There was a big table and 6 chairs, perfected fitted for our group. It had a dishwasher, which was very nice! The living room was spacious and cozy, with a fireplace. The bathroom had heated floor, which was plus :) Our cabin had one room with a double bed and another room with 2 bunk beds. We rented bed linens and towels for our stay and this was a super easy process. They were able to provide a baby cot for your younger son, which was of great help. The views from the cabin were amazing, to the lake Lemonsjo and the woods! The area was very quiet and peaceful. Our hostess really wanted us to have good time during our stay, so she gave us many tips to explore the surroundings! There is a hiking trail that starts very close to the cabin that leads to a peak called "Trollhoe" (1370mt), with excellent views. The location is great as we are very close to 4 nationals parks: Jotunheimen, Breheimen, Reinheimen, and Rondane National Parks. So it's the perfect headquarters to explore this area. We enjoyed our stay very much and we plan to come back!
Pros: The cabin was very cozy. The view was amazing. Honestly it was a blast. The location was very convenient. It was close to several hiking trails with varying views and difficulties.
Cons: Nothing really. Just the curtains were very thin that the rooms never really got dark enough for a good night’s sleep.
Pros: Location, log cabin, clean and good
Cons: Only 1 mirror in cabin!
Pros: The hike right from the hotel was excellent!
Pros: Beautiful location and charming cabin. Very friendly and helpful host.

Cottages include a seating area and a kitchenette. Some have a balcony with lake views. Leisure options include a sauna and a terrace. Canoes and boats can be rented on site. Traditional Norwegian dishes are served in the restaurant. The hiking trail for the Besseggen mountain ridge is a 7-minute drive away. Lemonsjø Ski Centre is 35 km away.
Pros: We stayed here for 3 nights in 1 hotel room (the cabins were booked full, so I can't comment on them). We choose 3 nights because that allowed us to choose between 2 days to hike Besseggen Ridge. We are glad we did because we arrived and our 1st day was rainy and foggy. The 2nd day was perfect with morning clouds and then sun. Anyway - back to the lodge. We enjoyed the basic hotel room that had large bathroom and my wife says the shower was fabulous with excellent water pressure. The beds were 2 twins pushed together, but quite comfortable. The included breakfast started at 06:30 but we grabbed some items before we left for the hike at 6:05/10 (they also offered a lunch option to pack for the hike). Really, the only reason to choose this lodge would be the location -right around the corner to the Besseggen trail head. If you don't want to tent camp before of after Besseggen, this lodge is simple, yet perfect.
Cons: Wifi is only available around reception and didn't reach our room, but we didn't have a data plan during our Norway holiday, so not a huge issue.
Pros: Very convenient for Besseggen hiking. Staff gave us useful advice about parking and taking the shuttle to the ferry dock. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was good.
Cons: No wifi signal in our cabin
Pros: Location. Atmosphere.
Pros: All the homemade food for breakfast. Lovely dinner .
Pros: Very nice and comfortable living room and kitchen, well equipped. Perfect location for hiking in Jotunheimen national park.
Cons: Very small bedrooms, no place to put your luggage.
Pros: Very close to Besseggen, a lot of beautiful hikes close to the hotel. Food is good, nice choices for breakfast.
Pros: We liked everything
Pros: Great lodge to stay when visiting the park. The staff was nice and helpful - they kept the kitchen open to prepare us dinner even though was arrive late. Beautiful location.
Pros: We had a Hütte Nr 9 - great location (just 4 min drive) - 2 big rooms and a living room with open kitchen. - in the house you have everything you need - perfect view - great value for money
Set in a late 1800s wooden building, this countryside hotel is in Hindseter, 60 km from Otta. The hotel restaurant serves Nordic cuisine with local produce. Hindsæter has a wellness area, plus views of the Jothunheimen Mountains and Sjoa River. The rooms have a private bathroom with a shower. Binoculars can be borrowed from reception to try wildlife-spotting from the bedroom window. Other facilities include a lounge with fireplace, a sun terrace and lounge with views of the valley. WiFi is free in the lobby and in the lounge. Hiking trails and cross-country ski trails start from Hindsæter, and Lemonsjø Ski Centre is within 20 minutes’ drive. Pros: The hotel is an extremely pleasant place to stay in the Bessegen area. The staff is very nice and helpful, the food is excellent, the atmosphere is rustic and pleasant.
Pros: Very cozy and clean everything was perfect from start to finish. Great food and service.
Pros: The place is very close to some of the top hikes in the area which makes it very convenient.
Cons: We were charged a ridiculous amount for dinner, which was ok but nothing amazing. The rooms are very small, bathroom is so small you can barely move. For this price, you should be getting a bit more than just a basic room. Rooms look outdated.
Pros: Incredible food and inspired chef
Pros: Absolutely lovely place. The stamp of quality is in the details. The room was good, not too spacious but not small either. The bathroom was rather small, but recently renovated. The dinner is optional, but well recommended. Breakfast is included, and very worthwhile. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great for walks and hikes, but not for much else.
Cons: The hotel shows signs of wear and tear around the edges, but nothing too obvious. The price of dinner was rather high.
Pros: Nice place to be for a couple of nights to venture out into the beautiful countryside. The hotel has it's own charme and the food was very nice.
Pros: Excellent breakfast and dinner. Nice location with good hikes nearby
Pros: This is a beautiful place. A most gorgeous setting, very remote and stunning views. The main communal areas are well decorated, very comfortable and the staff are very pleasant. The puddings are a dessert lovers heaven!!! We slept really well and got to our next destination (the Besseggen Ridge) really early the next day which was our plan. You can make yourself a lunch for your days out, from the breakfast items and you get charged for that per person. This was nice as we were doing a very long walk the next day.
Cons: The rooms are small and feel a bit more institutional than the rest of the lodge but they are warm and very comfortable. There is nowhere else to eat in the locality, so book yourself in for dinner. Another review alerted us to this and it was a good tip. That said we didn't know what was for dinner, or how much it cost and it comes out as set menu for the appetiser, starter and main course. There is a huge choice for pudding. If you don't eat certain things (my partner is vegetarian) then being offered reindeer cooked four ways is not an attractive option. When we asked for an alternative he was given a vegetarian plate which was very much welcomed and we thank the hosts for their quick solution. Our conclusion is that being veggie isn't really an option out in the wilds of Norway, so beware before you travel. It would just be nice to know what is for dinner and the cost in advance.
Pros: Very comfortable beds, nice decor, beautiful lounge and dining room, there was even a plush reindeer on our bed! Amazing view from the lounge and the rooms. The dinner was excellent, quite pricey for our pockets, but it was Michelin-starred style and quality. There is a spa open in the afternoon but we couldn't use it because we arrived just before dinner. The staff was always ready to answer our questions and gave us good suggestions for hikes.
Cons: The bathroom was very small, it was a bit difficult to enter in the shower. Our room was beautiful but small.
Pros: Lots of character to this little hotel, manages to balance the classic atmosphere with modern amenities. Great place for a foodie, the dinners here are gourmet standard and made with fresh, local produce. They have over 60 beers, all local Norwegian microbrews with a variety of styles and flavor profiles. We arrived late on our first night, but they were really nice and still willing to serve us the main for dinner. This seems popular even with the locals, so book the morning of if you want dinner in the evening.

Pros: Was quiet and peacfull.
Cons: Very basic.
Pros: The hut was cosy and the sanitair was clean. The staffel was friendly and the common spaces were charming. The location makes it easy to go hiking.
Cons: The matrass did not have a good protection sheet and was not thick but it was just ok. There was no fire detection or fire extinghuisher what shoud be good in a totally wooden shed with several heating equipement and only one exit.

Pros: Good location, friendly stuff. Fair price for the facilities we got
Pros: Everything perfect-camp was calm, few people, bathroom clean...personal nice and helpful. Great to stay here.
Pros: The hostess was fantastic, very friendly and helpfull. The cabin was great, we had a nice and comfy couch and beds. The facilities were perfect, there was enough kitchen equipment available. The people were nice and the atmosphere was good.
Pros: The small lodge had everything you need to cook (except for no water inside the lodge). Shared restroom and shower was very clean.
When you stay at Vågå Hotel in Vaga, you'll be 2 minutes by foot from Vaga Church. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: There was so much atmosphere at the hotel. Especially in the restaurant/bar. We also enjoyed the great breakfast with a lot of options.
Cons: We were three persons in the room, so one slept on the couch. The couch was not very comfortable.
Pros: Location. Food was quite good and rooms comfortable.
Cons: No lift so not disabled friendly.
Cons: Very expensive
Pros: We needed a car Hotel near Geiranger. Rooms are dated with quirky wall art. Common areas better than rooms. Nice swimming pool although we didn’t use it. Excellent breakfast. Lovely evening walk to Stave church a bonus.
Cons: Our room was a long maze-like walk from front desk. Unusually hot for Norway, so the room was a bit uncomfortable.
Pros: Helpful staff, friendly atmosphere, good wifi, free access to coffee
Cons: Bathroom small and shower wets toilet
Pros: Hotel is located in a beautiful village. The hotel is a bit outdated but the rooms are up to date, super clean and very comfortable. The front desk individual was the only person in our entire trip who said "Thanks for staying with us, have a wonderful trip". This small gesture put a BIG smile on our faces. I would also recommend the local restaurant Andre Etasje for dinner. It was fantastic! We wold be back for sure.
Cons: We enjoyed it. I cant think of anything at this time. Keep up the good work.
Pros: Has a indoor swimming pool!
Pros: Very good breakfast and coffee, nice and helpful staff good fitness center, swimming pool and sauna near the hotel shop and gas station the hotel is easy to find
Cons: no objections
Pros: The personell was very friendly, clean, comfy beds.
Cons: Old rundown hotel, lacks love and smelled like a swimming hall. Showering without watering the whole bathroom is not possible.
