This is an elegant hotel just in the middle of town between Vail Village and Lionshead. It is not ski in and out but village bus service makes the slopes readily accessible. Apres skiing at their Frost Bar is great. They have four steaming jacuzzi's and a small heated pool. A gas-flame bar makes the temperature around the pools bearable even if it is 30 degrees outside. We had one of the smaller rooms but it was quite comfortable. I liked that it had a Nespresso Coffee Maker in the room with pods replaced daily. There are restaurants for breakfast, lunch & dinner but just outside the doors are all the restaurants from the village. There is a spa which I did not get to use but the gym in adequate.
This hotel is a find - great value. The staff is gracious and knowledgeable, with attentive, personal service. The decor combines a fresh and contemporary ambience with plush, traditional decor. The location, nestled in the heart of Vail Valley, couldn't be more convenient - steps away from downtown restaurants and shops. My only regret is that I couldn't prolong my stay.
Wow, what a hotel. Exceptional quality and fantastic service.
My wife and I had never been to Colorado before, so we didnt know where to stay or where to go. I just knew i needed to get out of town and see some mountains. I knew that Vail would get me both. We stayed at the Sebastian, and from now on, all my hotel stays will be measured against this hotel. The staff were absolutely amazing! Some of the most friendly people you'd ever meet. Granted, we stayed during the off season, so there werent many guests there in the middle of the week, so i think we had all the staff to ourselves for most of the stay. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL, and warm. Our room was small and our view overlooked the neighboring building, but for what we were paying, who cares? We werent in the room much anyway. The food was very expensive, the bar wasnt that bad pricewise. It's Vail, you dont come here for a budget vacation, even on the off season. The free bottled water was great. The beds were pretty hard, and the down pillows compressed pretty quickly. But that isnt the hotels fault, I like sleeping on a veritable cloud. Because it was off season, I asked about paying full price for the vallet parking and they knocked a LOT off that bill.
We were greeted at our car by Spencer (who is the creme dela creme of hotel staff). Spencer explained that I could leave my ski gear with him and he would my gear to the hotel's Base Camp (located at the base of the ski slope) were I could pick up my ski gear when I was ready to ski and they would care for my gear when I was not skiing. When I shared with Spencer that I intended to ski Vail on the day of our arrival and ski Breck the remaining days, he said after I was done sking the first day in Vail they would get my ski gear back to the hotel and put it in my car for my trip the Breck the following morning...they did. This same level of service was evident throughout the hotel. While the view from our room wasn't great, we didn't spend muck time looking out of the window. Other than the view, our room was beyond our expectations. The beds and linens were the nicest I have experienced in any hotel. Oh, and did I mention the awesome staff!
Our first time staying at this hotel and we enjoyed the location and all the offerings. Close to shuttle bus, restaurants and shops. Lobby was warm and inviting with fireplaces, sitting areas and staff always around to help. We will be back!
this place is sweet. super clean and great location.
We had a fantastic time at this hotel. We only spent one night, but it was phenomenal. I wished we could stay longer. No detail was left to chance and everyone was helpful and friendly. I have been recommending The Sebastian to everyone I know.
From the moment we got there, till the moment we left, we had a wonderful stay. Everyone of the staff was so friendly and accomodating. The front desk person even gave a brief tour as he walked us to the elevators. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom products and nightly turn down service with robes, slippers, cookies. water were awesome. The fridge is also stocked with free coke. The only ammeneties we used were the pool and hot tub, and these were great next to a fire. Would definately stay again.
Eric, the front desk manager was there for every thing we needed, suggesting a great restaurant to literary coming to our room personally to help us figure out th DVR! The room supplied COMPLIMENTARY soda, water, 2 different trail mixes, DVD rentals, an expresso machine, and their own spa shampoos and lotions. My only 2 complaints ( small ones) are bad lighting in the room to read and a little noisy sleeping with windows open....it's close to street. Loved everything else about it, a very reasonable rate (off season) and great location in Vail village. Will be back and tell my friends!
