it was a nice stay there, staff was friendly and helpful, room was luxurious
good and friendly service. my dog was allowed in the hotel which I appreciated very much. Large flat screen tv, nice bathroom, very comfortable beds. I can recommend this hotel any time. Pity the restaurant was closed when I stayed (september 2010) apparently it is vey good. Good breakfast. Cannot think of anything negative!!!
We had a good clean and comfortable three bed room with plenty of space. The buffet breakfast was well laid out and we enjoyed our stay. No
The location was excellent and the staff extremely helpful. The rooms were adequtely sized and had a lovy bathroom and separate toilet. The spa was great too. Didn't try the food but the bar was very good - bloody Mary's great! We had a superior room and a standard for the children - I couldnt tell the difference really so not worth the extra money. Car parking underneath the hotel was expensive -but then everything was - as should be expected in the resort!
Very good kitchen, good spa (not big) and pleasant hotel Relative small spa for so many rooms
The hotel is beautiful, the staff are friendly and the rooms are extremely stylish. The best ski hotel I have ever stayed in - will definitely be coming back.
Hugely convenient for ski slopes and very central in village. Friendly, English speaking staff. Comfortable and very warm. Ski rental in basement, and efficient security in ski room. Not far off the claimed 4 stars Very hot at night. Soem noise from surrounding bars
The design of the rooms, internet connection and a great bar. I was disappointed for a 4 star that there was no freshly squeezed juice at breakfast and it was not easy to get into the room with the card entry.
The staff were incredibly helpful and understanding, willing to help. Modern, well appointed. Our bed was like a board - very very firm. If not for that the comfort rating above would have been excellent
1.location-it's really very comfortable; restourant The Paul is not bad 2.The hotel overpriced strongly!
Prices of extras. Minibar empty. Furniture too "design"
Good location for skiing as very central Expensive, no pool
Nice bar, good setting, modern rooms/furniture Poorly designed - no ski lockers, no WC on the ground floor where the bar is located (you have to take a lift to the basement!), no mini-bar.
Beutiful decor and wonderful staff.
Central to village shops, restaurants and five minute walk to ski lifts. Contemporary designed interior with comfortable rooms and great bath and shower room. Restaurant was a disappointment with no change over the week to a very limited dinner menu and the one time we tried it the meal was poor.
Staff were very helpful and it was kitted out very nicely It was too hot
Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern contemporary refit of hotel. Central location close to main lifts and nursery pistes.
I found this hotel to be fabulous. The staff were very nice and the location was right in the center of town.
I just finished a week in France with my daughter. Five of the nights were spent in the Alps. We both agreed that Hotel Ormelune was the best hotel of the trip. Val d'Isere is a gorgeous place and this is a great hotel to stay in while there.
Very 'Retro' and modern. Convenient for skiing, Clean and spacious room No Information in room...Tv. Village guide , room service etc. Too hot, no eggs, ommelette etc for breakfast. No mini bar or water in room. no tea or coffee, No info on hotel facilities.
Nice hotel, nicely located centrally in town. Lots of space for clothes. Big room with nice view over the city center.
Very friendly owners, fantastically decorated, and super stylish. A very, very cool hotel.
The huge bed, excellent internet connection, good food, value for money
Excellent location. Spacious ski room with boot warmers. Staff friendly. Personalised service. Restaurant food excellent and dinner menu terrific value for guests. Very comfortable huge bed. Bedrooms in process of being updated. Could do with satelite tv as opposed to just french channels.
Close to ski facilities. Acoustic isolation of the rooms.
Excellent location for skiing, good food and very helpful staff. High standard of cleanliness. Overall highly recommended.
A very pleasant and enjoyable stay in a friendly hotel in a very good location.
The location (central, directly between town centre and lifts is idea). The owners are present, engaged, and welcoming. The spa is beautiful. The ski room and drying rooms are perfect. I think they could help with luggage, parking, weather forecasting, and how to get the best out of the day, more.
Good standard contemporary 3 star hotel
Hotel Le Kern is right in the centre of Val D'Isere up a small side street flanked by two luxury hotels. So we got the position without having to pay the high price. The rooms are modest but clean and well kept and we were there to ski not to spend time in the room so that suited us perfectly. The hotel staff speak good English and were very friendly and helpful and the coffee at breakfast was really good. They have a basement for ski's and boots which is locked each night and there is an underground parking lot very near that charges £13 a day if you need it. The shower was a little tight and poorly designed so it was a challenge to stop the bathroom turning into a swimming pool. However the rooms are serviced everyday and fresh towels given so it was more an annoyance than a real issue.
A superb hotel. The rooms were clean and warm with comfy beds and ample hot water. The lounge area is warm and welcoming and daily buffet breakfast was generous even for hungry skiers. We would recommend this hotel highly.
Very helpful staff speaking fluent english, good location, nice lounge with wi-fi internet
Great location, friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast Small room, inferior lighting, dubious, noisy wc plumbing, no lift, narrow staircase, primitive skiroom, general need of refurbishment and modernisation
We booked this hotel last minute, we were very impressed with everything at Le Kern, staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms clean, in an excellent position just off the main street so not very noisy at night, we also got an upgrade to a room with shower and bath which was prefect to relax in after a hard day on the ski slopes. would love to come back next season.
The manager was very friendly, helpful and spoke very fluent english. The hotel is particularly well located in the village and close to the ski lifts. No
An excellent location, budget priced and a bit tatty in parts but all in all a good prospect for a ski week in the middle of a very expensive town.
Huge amount of space in the rooms and lots of storage - most unusual for a French ski resort. Interesting design, cool place! Lovely staff who went out of their way to help. Great breakfast buffet - not huge, but seriously good quality and totally fresh. We had a great stay. The hotel is relatively new, and there is a distinct lack of information - from the most basic, eg breakfast times etc, to the most sophisticated, eg how to use some of the technologically advanced facilities in the room (spa bath, tv/blue-ray etc). We couldn't see where to alter the temperature of the room - if indeed that was possible.
