10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. Beautiful location and views 2. Gorgeous bungalows with beautiful gardens, hammocks, swimming pool, good showers and large king sized comfortable beds 3. Owners are locals who know the area but have also lived in Europe for decades so understand what travellers want and deliver a quality experience. 3. Great restaurant with good prices 4. Make it so easy to enjoy the surroundings by providing quality advice on what to do. 5. The owners can organise everything from tours, scooters and transport to other cities. 6. Owners support Laos people on a local level and at the country level.
Cons: That I could stay longer :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, well maintained bungalows, staff. It's in a beautiful scenic area. The included breakfast was good too.
Cons: A refugee from the touristy town. Pretty bungalows in a scenic area. The owners are kind and very helpful in arranging tours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden, hosts advise about and organize activities (if you want). Renting a scooter helped us a lot to explore nearby lagoons, caves and the city.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent host. A bit far from the town for us but quite and peaceful a result. Though you need to travel a few k for meals etc . Excellent breakfast and great views. Would recommend to those wanting to get away from the packs of adrenaline junkie tourists.
Cons: Need to rent transport get to restaurants etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great place
Cons: All was very good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for 2 nights (as part of 3 month travels in SE Asia) on our way from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. It is such a beautiful retreat with lovely individual bungalows set in spacious and beautiful gardens away from the bustle of Vang Vieng town. The view, sitting beneath a mountain, is just beautiful. The recently installed pool was great for a swim after a busy day out. The owners and all staff are so hospitable, friendly and helpful- nothing is too much trouble - it has real friendly family feel to it. They arranged a full day out on a tuk tuk at a very reasonable cost, picked us up from our bus and took us to the bus departure point. It is quite away from the centre but our impression of VV is that unless you want to party all night you’re better being slightly outside - the owner will drop you off at the bridge and pick you up when you’re ready up till 8.30pm. The breakfast was excellent and we ate here both nights - no dearer than town, good choice and the meals were fantastic. We can not recommend this hotel strongly enough. If you are in VV stay here.
Cons: Everything was great
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite and peaceful bungalows in a lovely garden setting a little outside of the centre of Vang Vieng town. Lin and her husband (the owners) were very kind and welcoming and we enjoyed chatting to them. The bungalows are a good size and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the garden - we didn't have a view of the mountains but some of the bungalows do. We enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool after a hot day. The breakfasts were amazing - lovely plate of fruits followed by a choice of eggs and bacon etc. Very nice coffee.
Cons: The pillows on the bed were old and lumpy and the bed was a bit too hard for our liking. The room wasn't cleaned properly on our second day - the tea cups weren't washed and the bathroom area wasn't cleaned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely place run by a super helpful and smiling Lao lady with family still in Berlin. All the cottages are away from each other. The whole property is quite big. Tall limestone cliffs jut out and make a dramatic backdrop for the cottages. The breakfast is very good. Because it’s a couple of km away from main town, it’s quiet and untouched by the Vang Vieng’s party scene.
Cons: Nothing really

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff. I liked the cake provided for my wife's birthday. Nice touch.
Cons: The service during the Christmas special menu was very slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location in town next to the toll bridge, overlooking the Name Song River. Staff extremely helpful and attentive. Our rooms were on the lower ground, no view which we chose as our stay was only over night otherwise the option was for views over the pool, river and towards the mountains. Rooms are a good size, clean and with a bath and outdoor seating area. Drinks and snacks to purchase offered poolside, while watching travellers on speed boat going up and down the river, and balloons high in the sky. Breakfast was nice - chef cooking omelettes, pancakes. Kids loved the hot chocolate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: By far the best hotel in town - excellent location, good ambience (hard to find in Vang Vieng), impeccable service and outstanding food at the restaurant
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, professional, English speaking staff. Clean, comfortable. Great pool. Fantastic views of the mountains. Within walking distance to the city center. Closed car park with guardian. Calm and perfect for relaxing.
Cons: The room itself was a bit "worn around the edges" so to say. Clean and comfortable, but less than perfect details for a room in this price category. The balcony door lock was broken. The balcony door was very stiff to open. Not enough light in front of bathroom mirror. The water release handle in the bath tub fell off one day. Minor maintenance needed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and great staff - truly beautiful spot in a kind of otherwise kitchy dusty and touristy city - but a good starting off point for lots of fun active day trips out of the city.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly team, they made arrival and departure very easy. Perfect romantic location, good food, we enjoyed every moment!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow what a location. It is off the main road and so it’s quiet and peaceful. 6 bungalows that are well spaced with million dollar views off the lake and mountains. Beds and pillows are soft and comfortable. Kettle, water and coffee are provided in the room as is a fridge with small freezer. You do have to take the kettle up to eating area for refills. Bring your own tea bags for afternoon tea on the deck. Coffee packets are a bit like hot chocolate. We had some instant coffee to add to them which made them better. You can buy beer or wine and hard liquor but no coolers. Morning coffee on the deck is worth the price of admission. One morning there was a fisherman fishing on the lake right in front of our bungalow. Kayak’s are free to use with life jackets. Never a problem getting one. Just grab whatever. We found an island with monkeys not far away. They came down to the water but we where told they don’t go in the water. 15 minute paddle to the right...ask. Pool was one of my favourites. No shade there but I had an umbrella and would stand looking out at the lake...literally spent hours doing that...epic. Pool is about 5’ deep. You can swim in one spot as the jets are powerful enough on one end. Did the 4 hour lunch cruise aboard “Perfect Journey” on Christmas Day. The lunch stop island we had a choice of swimming or leaning how to use a throw net. We fished. Lunch was plentiful with spring rolls.bbq fish, rice and fruit. Killer views from the breakfast and eating area. Can see many light on the lake at night as they night fish. Awesome curries for 45k and large red wine glasses for 25k. Hugh breakfast is included with the room. We stayed for 3 nights but wished we had booked for 7. Bring along an umbrella, tea, coffee, snack food and coolers. They also give you a ride to the gas station or bus station at the end of your stay. Bus is 50k to Vang Vieng or do what we did and stand across from the gas station and wave down a songtaew for 20k. Was 30k coming out.
Cons: Could give an explanation of how to get there from Vang Vieng. Price for tuk tuks or bus. Also explain about the songtaews which are a more authentic experience. They do give you a ride out which is nice. We walked in the 2kms with packs and found it to be no problem. We are in our early 60’s.More shade at the pool area and maybe on the bungalow decks for the afternoon sun ie deck umbrellas. Need wifi in the rooms and on the deck. Currently you have to go up to the eating area. Tv did not work but that’s ok and we did not ask about it anyway. All in all this is an absolutely fantastic way to chill and relax. We are 2 1/2 months into a 6 month trip and by far this is and most likely the nicest accommodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful hosts who organised transport. Peaceful location with great views over lake from the room. Enjoyed the isolation with nothing to do but kayak on the lake, swim in the pool and read. Restaurant food simple but tasty and prices same as Vang Vieng. Great place to relax for a night or two between Vang Vieng and Ventiane.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: View was great and the atmosphere as well. The owners were helpful and friendly.
7.9 Good
Pros: Fantastic location the views were incredible - the pool was awesome , great open area to have breakfast and drink in the evening and play cards . Was good because it made us relax and chill .
Cons: Should have done some more research in regards to location and the need for transport to get to town to take advantage of the activities .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bungalow was nice and it was facing the lake.Lovely view. The staff was helpful. It isn’t easy to get there, the road is dusty and uneven, but when you get there the please is really nice.
Cons: I think that breakfast could be more varied.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, view and ambience, would totally recommend it
Cons: The room was clean but had a lot of geckos inside

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean new property in a great location. Lots around the place. Nice rooms.
Cons: Lacks some character. Some of the staff were a bit cold.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, comfortable beds, friendly staff
Cons: We were lead to believe we would have a mountain view but this was not the case - very disappointing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location ! View ! Pool !
Cons: The moment that 20 Chinese customers returning from a kind of trekking jumped fully clothed in the pool as if it was a river to clean themselves ... we were astonished. A hotel cannot let this happen. It can be difficult to ask them not to do, but it is not impossible. A bit more authority should have been a good tactic.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool area and pool staff were great
Cons: Some staff at reception did not seem particularly honest: wrong things were charged on the bill and it seemed to take them awhile to correct even when the mistake was pointed out to them.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was just no noisy. We had music from 4 o clock in the afternoon till 12 o clock at night. If you are in your 20ties it's maybe a good choice but if you are looking for some relaxation you should consider another hotel. Breakfast needs an update there is room for improvement.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good standard but over run by rude Korean tourist I went to Amari due to the good reviews and I have to say it is very good also compared to European standards, there is no doubt on that. The breakfast buffet is huge but the coffee is a disaster unfortunately. The should absolutely get new coffee maker since this is lightyears away from the rest of the standard. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The TV does not allow you to steam, neither from internet nor from your phone. The pool is amazing, absolutely stunning view!
Cons: coffee at breakfast is not good in terms of taste Very loud and rude Korean Tourists Unfortunately the hotel is very noisy since there are lots of Korean tourist which have no idea of behavior! They will slap doors, order food and have Partys in the hotel. Unfortunately the rooms are not enough noise proof for this. For this reason I would never take this hotel again. I rate anyway 4 stars since the hotel, facilities and stuff is great.
7.0 Good
Pros: View from the room is great.
Cons: The price was very high during the new year holiday and the party was very loud (understandable though).
5.4 Okay
Pros: Clean
Cons: The AC did not work properly despite we asked the staff to fix it. I was very unhappy for the the price I paid for the breakfast. The breads were very old different from the picture from the advertised pictures.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location ist at the river, with nice view to the river and the nearby mountains. New rooms with enough space, bright bath room. Friendly employees.

Pros: Clean, quiet and peaceful

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A big thank you to Alex the manager, who makes our stay unforgettable...
Cons: Everything was perfect
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The place has a great location and view on the Nam Ngum Lake. The floating restaurant was a major plus. The bungalows are well-equipped and the restaurant has a commanding view overlooking the lake.
Cons: There should be a toilet at the swimming pool, as it is a bit of a walk up to the hotel especially for the kids. I would suggest a few walking paths around the property in addition to the actual roads.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect with beautiful views. The staff were friendly and courteous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff excellent, friendly and helpful, especially the manager who was in the restaurant every night. Reception staff spoke good English and Thai. Location on the lake was wonderful, very peaceful, room was clean and big. Scenery was amazing. Lots of things to do and excursions if you so wished to do. Food in restaurant was very good as well. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: Menu in restaurant could have had a few more dishes on it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing resort if you look to relax in a paradise place. Beautiful large rooms in front of a lake, many various water leisure equipments. Excellent staff, good restaurant at fair prices
Cons: Nothing , it takes a ride from ventiane or luang prabang to reach the place but you won’t regret the journey
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful and quiet. Nice food. Lovely views. The Manager, Alex, was very helpful and attentive.Very nice shower.
Cons: Hard uncomfortable pillows. Nowhere to put things in the room (no shelves or cupboards).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: 17-20.November 3 night in room no.4 A quiet place and nice view over the lake. To stay here is much better than in the crowdy town vang vieng, but if you will go there, they manage everything, there is also a free Shuttle 2x a day. Also extra shuttle available with fair conditions. Alex and his staff are a top team. Thanks to all.

Pros: Beautiful hotel, superb view from the balcony overlooking the river and karst mountain! Very comfortable super single bed and pillows. Friendly and efficient front hotel staff. Nice ambience overall.
Cons: Breakfast were rather disappointing for such a beautiful restaurant - limited choices and not much options for vegetarian. Don't bother dining in here for lunch / dinner as there are other much better selections outside the hotel all within walking distance.

Cons: The usual: no shower curtain and a hard bed. No chair in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and they cared about us, when no one showed up to pick us up for the bus. The room is simple but clean. The breakfast was very good. Free water refill available. I would recommend to stay herr for sure!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was awesome, they gave us water and new towels daily and they were so attentive. The breakfast was made to order and quite good. The location was perfect being just across the street from the river. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The room was clean and large and we even had a view of the mountains.
Cons: The only thing was that the shower was cold. But this is pretty common in SE Asia.
6.7 Good
Pros: The owners was nice and friendly. Wifi was good. The rooms were clean.
Cons: A nearby disco was noisy, our neighbours who worked at the place was noisy from 7 in the morning and the water in the shower was cold. Maybe my opinion of the place is reflected by my dislike of the town.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast was simple but good, the location was ideal and the staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: Nothing really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were lovely. Rooms and hotel VERY clean and was in a terrific location. It is run by a small family who work very hard for sure. Was a pleasure to stay there.

Cons: - cockroaches in our room, needed insect killer and after 3 nights those fellas were gone - Windows cannot be completely closed, that’s probably where the insects can come in (insect killer helps, put it on the window)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely, and substantial.
Cons: There isn't anything we didn't like. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We loved sitting on the verandah in the back!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is good if you want to be outside the noisy traveler city. Room interior is stylish and functional. The outdoor shower is great!
Cons: I don't understand the concept behind this hotel. The, admittedly slightly strange, but very stylish design suggest that this should be a more up-market place targeted towards customers that are willing to pay for value and comfort. But then, the bar by the pool was not really attended and it was apparently not possible to put beverages on the room bill. The staff at the reception was friendly, but had no knowledge whatsoever of transport in the area. The breakfast was really sub-par. Only three options. The combinations of egg and coleslaw seemed random. The offered "juices" were outright disgusting. My pledges to leave out the sausages and ham were simply ignored.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the whole place. Beautiful gardens. Fabulous pool. Perfect location easy walk to town by little free foot bridge. Very nice staff. A little oasis in Vang Vieng.
Cons: It was really cold at night. Despite thermals a jumper a husband and 2 duvets it was still cold. Make sure you ask for extra bedding.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed sleeping in an air conditioned shiping container, accommodation unusual but very good. Shower room was superb. Quite location but an easy walk into town.
Cons: Container heats up during the day when air con is switched off, requires time to cool down upon return, time for cool beer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, cool design, based on the Living Big in a Tiny House YouTube channel. Definitely recommended if you want to downscale and have an Tiny House experience before taking the plunge. More quiet because at other side of the river
Cons: Hotel rooms are a bit small, no place for suitcases. Heats up quickly when airco is off at daytime
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The unique interior of the hotel.
Cons: Room size was kinda small but that doesn't really matter. No english channel at all and the bathroom was a lil dark. The reason to pay to walk across the bridge doesnt really make any sense.
7.1 Good
Pros: Pleasant staff, Good swimming pool. Quiet rural location on edge of town. Friendly helpful staff. Free late check out and shuttle to bus station.
Cons: Configuration of the room not quite right. Huge shower room but very cramped toilet and wash area. Very dimly lit. Kong is a very original idea (converted container crates for accomodation). Upon arrival we felt a certain "wow factor" for the novelty of the idea. However, as our stay progressed somehow we didn't quite warm to it. Others may feel differently.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very modern and clean rooms, comfortable bed, relaxing athmosphere because of pane with view of small garden and creek. Friendly and helpful stuff. Relaxing in the big garden. The area across the river is peaceful, very green and you have a nice Mountain view.
Cons: Nothing

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely accommodation on a very very busy section of the toll Bridge.
Cons: Didn't get much assistance other that 'everything you need to know is in the book in your room'. Very different from other reviews of how helpful Pon was, we didn't even see her, maybe she would have been more helpful.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome breakfasts and coffee.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Relaxed place, bungalow is comfortable and clean, nice and helpful host. Wifi works great even in the bungalows.
Cons: There were some (older) spider webs in the bathroom, but they did not bother me any further. Breakfast seems to be a bit more expansive than in other places, but it was tasty and the coffee was great. I gave only 4 out of 5 for comfort, because some persons might find the matresses a bit hard (I slept very well, though!)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owner and nice bungalows. I enjoyed my stay here. There is a free walking bridge just a few minutes further, so no problems at all with the fee.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Neil was extremely helpful with our requests and super friendly. Accommodation very good for the price. Quiet at night and easy to walk across the bridge. Would recommend. Great breakfast options too!
Cons: Accommodation a little on the small side and not as clean as other places stayed in South East Asia.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely wooden bungalows just across the bridge from the town. Easy to get to town for restaurants, shops etc. but away from the main noise. Really helpful owner who booked balloon trip for us (amazing, do it if you can!) also general info on walking routes and places to visit. Good breakfast with lots of choice ( the banana porridge is a superb)
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Nice bungalow in a lovely garden. Very friendly and relaxed staff. Recommanded!

Cons: There was a problem with the door lock and took ages to open and lock the door of the room.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed is comfy, the view, the pool and it’s overall good value for money. For around $8/ night, you also get free breakfast, bbq on Fridays, AC, hot shower, ear plugs, pool and really nice spot for sunset. The reception can also get everything you need. From tours, tultuk rides, laundry etc.
Cons: Guys please fix your mirrors. They’re too high, we can’t even see our foreheads lol.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - great location - helpful staff - amazing view from the garden - comfortable -swimmingpool - the bungalow looks great (I slept in a dorm but the houses look amazing)
Cons: - some small insect from outside come to the room - but not harmful : ) - hmmm I saw how the staff cleaned the bed and it was not so satisfying
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great food. Beautiful location where you can watch the sunset. Beds were comfy with added privacy with a curtain. Pool was great. Staff were lovely, couldn’t recommend highly enough!
Cons: A little expensive compared to other hostels in Laos, but worth it!
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The way they set up the place looked nice.
Cons: The bed bugs and how they reacted to us finding out about the bed bugs. When i first arrived i really liked the place. Everything looked nice. Then when i wanted to brush my teeth i realised all the sinks were kind of broken and loose which is a bit dangerous. Then when i lied down in bed and started reading in the dark on my ereader I saw a few bedbugs crawling. We immediatly went downstairs (2am!) and asked for another room. After difficult communication we got it. This one looked free of bedbugs. The next morning they tried to charge us for the second room we had. And then when we tried to explain how severe the bed bug situation in the dorm room was, the guy at the desk said he will clean the rooms with boiling water, which is not very effective (as reviews about bed bugs go back a year). Gassing the place would be the way to go.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff are friendly and it was a good atmosphere for meeting people. The Friday night BBQ was a great idea. It was good to be able to make our breakfast or order it.
Cons: The toilet in our bungalow did not flush well and we had to spend considerable time trying to flush the toilet even after we’d been instructed on how use it. Also the pool was not clean. It was a murky colour and as we left it was turning green. Don’t recommend swimming in it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice view from the bungalow, guaiet and away from the noisy street
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice quiet side further from town centre but still walkable distance! Awesome sunset and country side view, would not prefer to stay somewhere with a balcony but looking to another building. Great garden space for hanging out with other travellers within the establishment with privacy of ur own little bungalow and a patio. Loved it!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The common areas are absolutely beautiful! The staff is amazing and so helpful. It is best to book everything via the Hostel! It is safer and they have cheap prices. The restaurant available is delicious. They have a free bbq on Fridays and the staff is served us a great meal! We had the possibility to exchange with them a lot! They are really cute We had an issue with our night bus and the manager was really kind and keen to help us with everything we needed! I totally recommend this place!
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view of the sunset from the bar area is nice, staff are helpful, really cheap dorm-type bed but quality place, location is a bit far from the center. Best value for money with free breakfast.
Cons: The mirror inside the toilet is too high for average Asian height sometimes heaters are not working.

Pros: this hostel is a massive party hostel. while overall organisation is good, it felt cold... a money machine
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice private rooms, quite spacious! We were pleasantly surprised. The noise really isn’t an issue as it’s turned off early.
Cons: The pool was grossss, it’s a shame because I kind of booked for the pool but it’s quite unusable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: the atmosphere was unbeatable. Very easy to make new travel friends and have fun. Strongly recommend for solo travelers
Cons: the food was not very good but you have restaurants around the corner. My last room was next to the Pool area and it was quite loud at night. If you are in a room inside the building it’s quiet and you can sleep
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are cleaned daily. The tubing they organize is fantastic. Although a party hostel, it's also very sociable and easy to meet people.
Cons: Pool is completely disgusting. Water is a dark green. You can't even see the bottom of the pool. Wasn't able to use it for the entire stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Pool side daily free "Tiger Vodka/Whisky" between 1900-2100 hrs and later the music upto 2300 hrs.
Cons: If you are not young or young at heart the noise could be disturbing.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is out of the town centre, nice and quiet. Also it only take 10mins to walk to centre. Room is spacious, clean and the surrounded by trees
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Your room is in the big beautiful garden with full green and animals such as dogs and cats but from the accommodation will welcome you so we were so happy to see the friendly animals as well as the staffs in the cozy nature oriented accommodation. The restaurant on site is reasonable and quite delicious. The staffs were so kind and the room was comfortable. So quiet and everyone was chilling and peaceful. If only Wifi in the room worked, I would have given MAX score. Highly recommendable.
Cons: A bit far from the city centre but walking distance. Wifi did not work in the room but it did in the reception lounge. If you do not like animals, you may care about some cure dogs and cats in the garden.
7.0 Good
Cons: Sad room, nothing deluxe about it, in spite of its name. The bungalows looked nice, the garden is super nice but my room was in some danky, dusty, fairly dirty annex.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is beautiful and very calm with a gorgeous view of the mountains outside each room or bungalow. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was nice and chill. Plus it's a great value for the money. I would stay here again!
Cons: We booked two private rooms on booking, but when we were arrived were told that only one room was available and one bungalow. It worked out fine, but was a bit inconvenient. This is also located on the other side of the private bridge, so you'll have to pay a small toll every time you go back across.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow... what an amazing little gem! The views and grounds are beautiful and peaceful. A wonderful zen hideaway from the hustle of the main town but only a few mins walking. I stayed in one of the bamboo huts overlooking the mountains which had a hammock on the porch. I enjoyed just relaxing watching the sun go down, reflecting on the mountain. Very clean and comfortable! Really can’t recommend enough!!!
Cons: I wish I had found this place earlier!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet environment with beautiful view from the balcony. Big clean room. Friendly staff.
Cons: nothing I didn't like
7.5 Good
Pros: The guest house not far from the city. Its near orange bridge that you can walk. Nice view at the balcony.
Cons: Bed sheet and blanket are brown color and towel light blue color, I feel not a brightness on it might be they would like to match color with the wood floor. Anyway, not so bad
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I doubted booking this guest house when I read the reviews and saw some of the owners comments on some bad reviews. I decided to book anyway and stayed for five nights because we loved it so much! The room was beautiful and rustic, and the garden was so beautiful, a bit of paradise. We also met the owner - who is indeed a bit of an angry old man - and understood his concerns. The room we had offers many things that are not always there in hotels in South East Asia. The shower is hot and you can adjust the temperature; the tiles in the bathroom are not slippery; there are no live wires near water; the door post is big enough for westerners; the cushions are actually soft; there is a safe; and I could go on. I guess many guests take all of this for granted, but it sure is not. We've been travelling for several months and Maylyn is one of those rare places where you get an authentic bungalow, while you also get luxury like a hotel. And all that for a neat price. We loved sitting on the veranda which oversees the majestic mountains. It's on walking distance of the village (the walking bridges at Grand Riverside and Green Restaurant are free), but we didn't hear any noise from the streets at all! Would surely come back.

Pros: Good location for Sakura bar lover Good price Helpful saffs
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Their staff is super kind and speaks English very well. Nothing is a problem for them and they make you feel welcome. Our room was cozy and clean. Especially the bathroom was very nice in comparison with other hotels across Laos. I would definitely come back!
Cons: They could only improve their breakfasts. There is only a few options and they don't bring new food when it runs out...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpfull! Close to restaurants and bars.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is perfectly situated as close to the main street, with some great restaurants and bars right next door and only a 5min walk and you are on the riverfront. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and far enough off the street to have a good night sleep. The staff are helpful and polite. We didn't use the pool area but it looked clean and few beds. Good shower/air con and wifi. There is also a water refill station.
Cons: The breakfast selection was very bland. Never any juice. And they need to sort the ant issue in the seating area. If you get noisy neighbours then you can hear them walking along the corridors etc.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location was great, near to good restaurants and not too loud from the bars. Breakfast was fine, you can have fruit with added ants or you can have eggs cooked in different ways. We passed on the fruit due to aforementioned ants. The room itself was tidy and the bed was nice and big with decent pillows. Shower hot and powerful. The pool looked clean but we didn't get round to using it. Air conditioning very powerful and much appreciated. You can book tours and tickets via the front desk and laundry is available.
Cons: To be honest it's overpriced for the quality of the facilities. You have to ask to have the room cleaned every day which is a very odd policy. For the price you pay you'd expect them to just do it, you know, like a normal hotel! On booking it advertises free bikes but when we asked we were told there was only 1 bike and it looked very beaten up so that's a little porky pie. In light of having to ask, we ran out of loo roll and the bins quickly filled up. We didn't get fresh towels. The corridors were filthy with bundled up dirty towels/sheets in the corners and one evening there were cigarette butts in the corridor where someone clearly couldn't be bothered to walk downstairs and had decided to smoke out of the window and just leave their butts there. Breakfast was always crawling with ants. I'm really not normally fussed about them because we're in Laos for heaven's sake, bugs are normal, but all it takes it a little bit of cling film or a resealable box for the fruit and then people can not spend ten minutes every morning picking ants off their breakfast. For what we paid and given other places we've stayed before and since in Laos, this sadly missed the mark.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location Close to river, excellent food and bars on same street Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient

Pros: Got a room on fifth floor - really great view. Friendly staff, very good laundry service, good location - well worth the money!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A perfect room with everything you need but no unnecessary luxury. Staff was generally pleasant. Bus and trip tickets were delivered in minutes. Good restaurant next door. A breakfast option! I slept rather well.
Cons: One staff member was a bit rude. Bed could be a bit softer. Shower could be a bit warmer.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very polite and helpful. The lobby, dining room and room was very neat. Check in was smooth. Location is excellent. Breakfast was very good. Coffee and tea were available in the dining room at all times.
Cons: Room was a bit small.
7.0 Good
Pros: View, bathroom, breakfast
Cons: I put lower rank for location, as if you plan to go further to luangprabang minibus, you'll be picked up as the last one. Therefore you have a highest probability to be seated at the total back of the minibus. As for us, we had even worst case - there was left 1.5 seat for 2 grown ups at the back... We asked our money back, but the driver told us that we must go on this back sit or go away, no money refund, no possibilities to raise a claim. So , we decided to go..... As the outcome, It were the worst minibus trip in our lifes till now. The roads are very very very bumpy + serpantine and we were simply jumping on our 1.5 seat and get totally sicked when we get to luang prabang. We wanted to die and the whole day was lost. We tried to recover on the next day. But actually we couln't. Many "thanks" to that driver for our the worst bus ride ever! And even more, the driver take for a trip his wife!!! So, basically, we paid for her transfer to luang prabang.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff so friendly ready to help, I like location of hotel it's easy to go everywhere and hotel have a good view So, I will come to stay again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, silent property, water from shower is good. The property have elevator it's great if you bring old person to stay in TNA hotel.
Cons: 1. Breakfast is depend on guest, If you are lucky you will get fried sausage fried rice and fried egg it's so delicious but Chinese food is not good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location on the main drag Friendly patient staff service
Cons: - The front facing rooms are quite noisy due to the clubs noise and it’s hard to get a early night sleep, although the back facing rooms are pleasant with Mountain views - Rooms could do with some table lamps, the spot lighting LED bulbs are quite harsh when you want some soft lighting in the evening - popular with Tour groups....
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The reception staff, especially Mr Wanchai, is extremely helpful.

Pros: Champalao the Villa is a lovely boutique style accommodation on the edge of Vang Vieng, so you are not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Our hosts were lovely, accommodating and very helpful. We had our own porch and hammocks to relax in at the end of the day. The family villa has space for 3 large beds and two bathrooms so it worked well for our family of four. I would definitely recommend.

Pros: The location was perfect with beautiful views. The staff were friendly and courteous.
