Pros: Very helpful and friendly hosts. Room spotless
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beatrice and Patrick were friendly hosts, very welcoming and eager to make our stay perfect. The room was clean & tidy and full of small surprises (chocolates, biscuits, great selection of tea and coffee). The house is lovely and the garden beautiful. You really feel at home. Breakfast was served in the kitchen overlooking the garden which was very relaxing. Food was spectacular: Pain perdu, cheese, ham, 5 types of bread, fruit salad, eggs, bacon, pastries from the local bakery.... Perfectly located for a short stroll into town and to the ferry terminal. This place is probably the best B&B we have visited. Both Beatrice and Patrick really understand what hospitality means.
Cons: Nothing - we will come back !
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The hosts were amazing. Very accommodating for us...a multigenerational group with special mobility needs for my mother in law. Great recommendations for meals. The breakfast..... WOW! Breads, cakes, eggs, bacon, yogurt, just fabulous. Coffee in a big bowl....my favorite part. We had the family house and it was fantastic. Nicely decorated and super comfortable. There were even little chocolates and biscuits. Lovely. Wish we had stayed more than 2 nights!
Cons: Absolutely nothing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely setting in a beautifully restored Belle Epoque era building Gorgeous pool/garden Lovely owners Great breakfast Nespresso machine use all day Central to Vannes and historic district Easy walk to the many great restaurants in the old city
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was very useful for exploring the city. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of breads, jams, eggs, fruit, yoghurts, etc. The accommodation was full of interest and the owners were knowledgeable and we had some delightful conversations.
Cons: The wardrobe in the main bedroom creaked and groaned every time you moved across the floor. Parking in the courtyard was an extra $13 per night which I took exception to considering how much the accommodation cost.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location with a direct access to the old city. The house lords were very kind and extremely helpful providing information about the city and suggesting places to visit. Definitely recommended for everyone who would be interested to stay in a 19th century house.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to explore Vannes and the area. Carrefully renovated vila with lots of deatails making the stay enjoyable and cosy. Great hosts (helping with info and recommendations) excellent breakfast (with home made yogurt and fresh croissants) in pleasant and relaxing French atmosphere - we would like to come again:)
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional. The care taken by the proprietors of this gem was wonderful. What nice people and what a fine hotel they run. It sits opposite the Chateau de l'Hermine and the ancient ramparts. The nearby Porte Poterne takes you into the historic centre past the ancient laundrywomen's cottages on the river. The alluring market hall is right there and if that's not enough, one of the best open air markets in France fills the streets twice a week. Vannes is a favourite town but the Villa Garenne makes any visit even better. The rooms are themed. Our 'music' room came complete with a guitar (in tune...) and a violin (didn't try - for the greater good of the neighbours). There is a free public carpark close by though it is in high demand and you have to be patient. We are already looking forward to our next visit (and we rarely go back to the same hotel twice).
Cons: Nothing at all - except that we had to leave after only three nights.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Helen was a great hostess. The Villa is beautifully decorated. It is close to the city walls. Great for walking around town.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A very friendly comfortable environment.
Cons: No tea making facilities or glasses in room which was up four flights of stairs.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming and welcoming hostess
Cons: rien
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location very good close to old town. Breakfast very good (inc boiled eggs) and even had some made available for early start on day of departure. Vannes is a lovely town.
Cons: Room a bit small. Parking quite difficult, given location and a map could have been provided to direct to free parking.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was continental but local and homemade produce with fresh bread, croissants, homemade yoghurt and fresh fruit. Freshly made coffee and an egg boiler to use. No parking but St Josephs was an easy walk and although always busy, a short wait would get a space. Unloading a car can be done outside the Villa. Really friendly hosts. Simple walk to the centre of the old town and the dock front for restaurants.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds, lovely bed linen. High level of cleanliness. Very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent breakfast with locally or homemade produced products.
Cons: Storage on our room was a little insufficient. Not enough hangers or drawers to store clothes but this was a very minor detail and didn’t cause us too many problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was superb with French press coffee, fresh fruit and cheeses & of course croissants. The service was attentive but not intrusive.
Cons: For older travelers as we were, we did not know there were 40 steps to the third floor. it is okay except when having to get luggage up the stairs. Parking in the municipal lot up the hill behind the property may require you to be patient as local workers also use this lot during the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location & high standard were fabulous. The couple who run this delightful establishment were lovely. The breakfast was fabulous. The bed very comfortable, the shower excellent & our room beautiful. I couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Hotel didn’t have air conditioning We did not notice this when we booked room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everthing
4.3 Okay
Pros: Good location.
Cons: As the most expensive hotel on our trip I would have expected more. No air-con in any part of the hotel, including restaurant which made it most uncomfortable. Very noisy at night . Very poor selection of food in the restaurant. Breakfasts poor and constantly having to ask staff to replenish items.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing, we "suffered" our vacation for the previously booked 6 nights, but if there had been another option, we would have left well before !! Really quite terrible
Cons: Everything to do with the substandard accommodation !!

Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Tasteful, spacious rooms and a brilliant location on a tiny, verdant peninsula in the Gulf of Morbihan, just a few minutes’drive away from of the walled city of Vannes.
Cons: There was not anything we did not like, but it would be great if the hotel had a swimming pool too ...

Pros: Location, evening meals, staff and cleanliness
Cons: No air con
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Located next to the water the views were brilliant. The bed was comfortable and the room had sufficient space for clothing. A fridge (mini bar) was provided which kept drinks col. Good secure parking available. Hotel had a choice of restaurant or cafe/bistro. Research to location carefully to ensure this is what you want before you book.
Cons: Rooms did not have air conditioning but the hotel did provide a fan. Located at the end of a peninsular the resort was very busy which was both a plus and a minus. Location was some distance from Vannes and all its facilities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good food in the restaurant
Cons: There is no air conditioning provided although fan are. With the balcony window wide open during a summers night that was temperate, the room tended to be stuffy with little or no through draught.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful private garden and Madam who welcomed us and served our breakfast. The walk to the harbour was pleasurable and passed several nice restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The room was delightful, with a lovely little private terrace, very comfortable bed, and nice furnishings, and even tea-making facilities (unusual in France). We both enjoyed our treatments in the spa. The reception rooms were very well appointed, lots of wood and relaxing areas with books and magazines. The overall impression was one of calmness and tranquillity, and it was obvious that a lot of money and thought had gone into making the hotel so welcoming. Pretty outdoor areas with a Japanese theme. Overall, far exceeded our expectations.
Cons: I would like to have seen more effort in eliminating plastic from the room - wrapping for toiletries, slippers etc. ( I would prefer to bring my own and not have them in the bathroom at all) and considering all the efforts to make the hotel as luxurious as they have, the towels were poor quality and very small!! Also, the dressing gowns provided for the spa were way too small - my husband had an XL and it didn't cover him at all, and my M was too small also.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff and warm welcome.
Cons: The towels were not changed and the heat towel rail was not working and as a consequence wet towels on day 2.

Pros: The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staf were friendly and helpful. The location was good.
Cons: The room did not have air conditioning so was very hot although a fan was provided. There was no fridge or cold water available and only paper cups not china. The breakfast area was poor and lacked atmosphere and there was no facility to take breakfast outside in hot weather despite there being a garden. This was not good enough for a 4 star hotel. We are currently staying in a 3 star that has all these things.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big hotel with spa, conference espaces and parking. Perfect choice for business travelers with car. Closed to railway station and old center. There is own parking. Pros: The staff were lovely. The decor is very nice and comfortable. Great shower.
Cons: The location is not in a nice part of town. Breakfast was a joke with one poor member of staff trying to cope with several guests at the same time. The eggs were cold, the bacon horrible and not much of anything else except baguette. Extra charges for dogs. The room is too small for 3 people.
7.5 Good
Pros: A nice breakfast especially fresh orange juice. Modern design and freshly renovated room. Elevator.
Cons: Stink from the sewer in the room (we couldn't get an other room, because all 3 persons room were booket). One set of disposable cosmetics on the arrival, the other one - after 3 days, not enough for 3 persons, regularly bathing family. A bit tiny room with no shelves.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: It is minimalist but all that is required

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a modern property in a trip dominated by smaller options. It was a surprisingly good choice with helpful staff, well designed rooms, small but complete spa facilities located in a modern development with many dining choices and a cinema within easy walking distance. It was a great value and very popular with French clients.
Cons: It requires a car and you need to be comfortable with a somewhat curious access for the sprawling modern development. Get in late and parking can be tricky but always worked. It is in a thoroughly modern area but less than 15 minutes drive to Vannes centre-Ville. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location convenient to go places. Parking was easy. Bed was comfortable, room pleasant enough.
Cons: Front reception not polite. We were rudely told that we could not check in any earlier than 3pm. Not an issue but it is the way it was said. When we came at 3pm, we were sent in a waiting area in once again quite a rude manner and got the room quite a bit later. The spa is too small for the hotel so dreadfully busy, could not get in the Jacuzzi or the sauna and steam room was out of order. No towels for the spa, had to use those in the room. The door to the swimming pool has a code but then the door does not open. Swimming pool was full of couples kissing, not a good impression.
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff was very polite and friendly and the bed was comfortable. We also really appreciated the hotel’s pet friendly policy.
Cons: I expected more from a 4 star hotel. The room was nice but needed some maintenance work as the paint was chipped in a few places. The shower was seemingly working fine but the water temperature was shifting from hot to cold and back to hot every 40secs or so. No minibar available. Additionally I wouldn’t describe the wellness facilities as a spa but more like an indoor family pool. When I attempted to enjoy a relaxing swim after a 12h drive at 22:30 I came across 4-5 children around 7 years old diving and running around the pool area. They seemed to be enjoying themselves and I have nothing against that, I just wanted to use this example to explain that the facilities were not accurately described by the management.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist was most welcoming & helpful, we were much later due to a car accident, and she was sympathetic & understanding about such a late check in
5.5 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Terrible pool. Shower with fluctuating temperature. Wifi not working
5.5 Okay
Cons: This is not at all a “fuor stars”. No refrigerator, plastic disposable glasses, broken shower, no courtesy set, etc. Outside the town in an industrial landscape, but that was known
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is modern with sauna and really small swimming pool.
Cons: No shelves or hooks in the bathroom. Location next the shopping center was a minus for me. It may be a plus for others
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable and I could get English news in the tv.
Cons: It was too far away to walk to the centre of Vannes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy. You should open more with the same format around west coast France.
Cons: Breakfast could be cheaper..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location good, breakfast good
Cons: Forgot to get a receipt for the accommodation and have requested one but 5 days on I'm still waiting - am going to chase them again today

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was spacious, useful for me, as I have mobility issues. Bed was huge and comfortable. Bathroom very well planned for people like me. But it was the people who made it brilliant, receptionists, breakfast staff, restaurant people, all pleasant and helpful.
Cons: A grab rail in the shower.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was very clean. I enjoyed the evening meals in the the Brasserie Edgar where the staff were very polite and helpful. It was good to have a Hotel car park
Cons: Perhaps the bar area could have a little more atmosphere
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good but expensive. Although the view from our room was overlooking car parks the location was generally good with a lovely waterside walk into the city. Good, secure private parking
Cons: It was disappointing that none of the staff we encountered appeared to speak a word of English - not what we would have expected from a 4 star hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was okay for us although if you wanted to be near the city it may be a little far out. It was clean, quiet, staff were friendly and helpful and it was easy parking.
Cons: Nothing really
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and on-site restaurant excellent. Parking excellent. Wi-if excellent.
Cons: Room smelt of body odour. Had to spray with smellie s twice a day to cope with it. Toilet seat noisy. Only BBC 24hr News English tv station. Not good for a commercial hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is good.. nice location
Cons: Bed is very hard and the room is not really clean. There's no toothbrush & toothpaste.. lucky we brought our own things. I heard everything's noises from outside and also from the hotel building self.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed. Convenient location in Vannes, if you have a car. Excellent on-site "Edgar" bistro/restaurant.
Cons: The staff could have been more useful about late opening groceries, since after 8PM it is very difficult to find a shop open.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Giant king size bed was very comfortable. Staff were helpful and the attached brasserie served good quality, tasty food. There is a bus stop right outside that takes you to the port and the old city.
Cons: Breakfast is of a good quality (personally took room service), but is a whopping €16 per person.
6.8 Good
Pros: We stayed here in December with our 3 years old daughter. There is free parking. The location is ok, there is a Casino across the hotel where you can also use the restaurant. The hotel’s restaurant and breakfast are also nice enough. We stayed in junior suit and the room was big enough. Wifi works fine too.
Cons: The staff cannot speak english. The room was VERY dirty. There were dust strings even coming out of the ceiling. There was a horrible smell in the room especially in the toilet. There were previous guests’ clothes etc that were forgotten in the closets which shows the cleaning was not through.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Was not a double bed it was two beds together. Pillows were really soft and no blanket available. Paper cups. No milk. Wood sticks for spoons. Dark Brown depressing decor.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfy and easy to get out of! Superb shower and bathroom! air-conditioning perfect! Plenty of space for stuff - easy access.. bottles of water provided every day! lighting very good.. TV good but couldn’t get films in English.. Good window that could be opened wide. good thick curtain.
Cons: The loo was too small - couldn’t really close the door properly.. view onto car park - at least it was quiet.. No kettle etc.. would have been nice to make a tea. No colour - white and very dark brown - not at all feminine! perfect for a man but maybe some flowers could have given a feminine touch and colour! Impersonal feel as a result! Hotel next to busy road - but also near centre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Great location. Comfortable room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Secure underground parking. Central location.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location Comfortable
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: I liked its very central location, extremely close to all the shops, stores, restaurants and the historical center. The breakfast was also really tasty, they have lots of varieties of food and the products are good quality. For a 1-2 day stay it's fine but not more. Also, they have Rituals products in the bathroom. :)
Cons: I didn't really like the fact that the personnel wasn't very willing to help. I booked a room with parking and breakfast and somehow when I ended up there, they told me that there wasn't any parking or breakfast booked. The problem is that they told us that there is a central parking - really close to the hotel - where the price is the same for what they would charge us at the hotel. On the contrary, the price was double, so we ended up paying 40 Euros instead of 20 + 48 euros extra for the breakfast for the 2 days. They didn't have any solution when I told them this...they just told us to go park the car in the central parking after I asked them a couple of times to give us a solution. The room was extremely small, you can hardly move around. For more than 100 euros per night, everything was rather dated and small.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I Don't ate croissant. Bed ok
Cons: Eggs on breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff had good english, offered us a map immediately and were friendly
Cons: Parking at the hotel was a little tricky for a large car
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Underground car park good for motorcycles. Really close to town. Town very interesting, historical and loads of restaurants. See most of it in a day. Lots of fashionable clothes shops...
Cons: Liked all of it - the pound euro exchange rate could be better....
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location and lovely rooms
Cons: Sadly aircon broke down and rooms very hot.... could not open window as facing noisy road
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The shower was fabulous as my wife just over a hip replacement found it very safe and roomy. The bed very comfortable and bedroom was very clean. Breakfast was very adequate but maybe bit pricy. Otherwise everything was fine and the staff went out of their way to facilitate us with parking
Cons: Not much

6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Size of room
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel location was very close to the old town and the port. We had secure parking under the hotel but there was street parking available. The room was clean and comfortable with a very large bed.
Cons: Breakfast was not satisfactory but the hotel acted promptly to improve things. The tables had not been cleared and relaid. The food ran out and had not been refilled when breakfast was open for another hour. There was no hot breakfast on the first day of our stay. As breakfast was included we were compensated by not being charged for our parking.
6.8 Good
Pros: Lovely enclosed outdoor area at the back of the hotel. Room was two story, spacious, very clean and well laid out. Breakfast was basic enough.

7.5 Good
Pros: The room. Friendly reception staff
Cons: The restaurant - shabby. The crockery -stained/dirty
5.5 Okay
Pros: Room clean and bed comfortable
Cons: Overpriced for the services included in the price. Parking is 9.5 euro although it's listed in the services included and breakfast is not included too. Rooms are clean but very basic, no fridge and we couldn't drink the tap water as there wasn't cold water in the bathroom
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Central situation, car parking, friendly staff
Cons: No dislikes
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the receptionist on booking in was very polite and helpful
Cons: The air conditioning in room 115 did not work, on telling the receptionist she said it would be checked out, if it was nothing was done to rectify the situation, on our return from a day out the same receptionist told us the air con was OK, it wasn't, we suffered 5 days of uncomfortable heat. The bar was a total disaster, hardly any stock, the staff didn't know what a French coffee was, and she didn't know how to heat up the milk, my friend had to go behind the bar to show her, considering how far the hotel is from the centre of town, unacceptable.

7.0 Good
Pros: Good location for old town and port
Cons: Whole hotel was tired and worn e.g. public areas and door of bedroom had delaminated.
6.3 Good
Pros: Position
Cons: Placed directly on the restaurant so smelling of food. Shower broken AC not functioning but quickly repaired from the staff.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room is modern and of a decent size. Large enough for two people to be comfortable in. On site parking - quite a blessing in a busy and popular place like Vannes Vannes! Beautiful town, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre. Excellent restaurant. Really stand out good. Staff encountered were friendly and professional
Cons: I didn't have the breakfast, but my wife did, and she said it was in its own league of bad. On arrival, the receptionist, Maud (?) was on her own and dealing with what seemed to be a rather complicated check in, so we waited for ages. If it wasn't for the fact we'd have been charged for cancelling, we'd have walked out. Might be an idea to put more staff on reception at peak time.
