Pros: Very helpful and friendly hosts. Room spotless
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beatrice and Patrick were friendly hosts, very welcoming and eager to make our stay perfect. The room was clean & tidy and full of small surprises (chocolates, biscuits, great selection of tea and coffee). The house is lovely and the garden beautiful. You really feel at home. Breakfast was served in the kitchen overlooking the garden which was very relaxing. Food was spectacular: Pain perdu, cheese, ham, 5 types of bread, fruit salad, eggs, bacon, pastries from the local bakery.... Perfectly located for a short stroll into town and to the ferry terminal. This place is probably the best B&B we have visited. Both Beatrice and Patrick really understand what hospitality means.
Cons: Nothing - we will come back !
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The hosts were amazing. Very accommodating for us...a multigenerational group with special mobility needs for my mother in law. Great recommendations for meals. The breakfast..... WOW! Breads, cakes, eggs, bacon, yogurt, just fabulous. Coffee in a big bowl....my favorite part. We had the family house and it was fantastic. Nicely decorated and super comfortable. There were even little chocolates and biscuits. Lovely. Wish we had stayed more than 2 nights!
Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Pros: Lovely accomodation, modern, every need is catered for. Easy parking. Quiet, lovely beakfast and our hosts Patrick and Beatrice were absolutely delightful. As B & B's go I don't think you can better this lovely property. Manicured garden setting with outdoor terrace.

Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed here for two nights. the garden is beautiful and the thoughtful and creative design of the house was unexpected. The host and hostess were so helpful. The facilitated a conversation between ourselves and French speaking guests. the house is located within walking distance of the center of Vannes and the harbor where ferries leave for islands in the Bay of Morbihan..Highly recommended

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely setting in a beautifully restored Belle Epoque era building Gorgeous pool/garden Lovely owners Great breakfast Nespresso machine use all day Central to Vannes and historic district Easy walk to the many great restaurants in the old city
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was very useful for exploring the city. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of breads, jams, eggs, fruit, yoghurts, etc. The accommodation was full of interest and the owners were knowledgeable and we had some delightful conversations.
Cons: The wardrobe in the main bedroom creaked and groaned every time you moved across the floor. Parking in the courtyard was an extra $13 per night which I took exception to considering how much the accommodation cost.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location with a direct access to the old city. The house lords were very kind and extremely helpful providing information about the city and suggesting places to visit. Definitely recommended for everyone who would be interested to stay in a 19th century house.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to explore Vannes and the area. Carrefully renovated vila with lots of deatails making the stay enjoyable and cosy. Great hosts (helping with info and recommendations) excellent breakfast (with home made yogurt and fresh croissants) in pleasant and relaxing French atmosphere - we would like to come again:)
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional. The care taken by the proprietors of this gem was wonderful. What nice people and what a fine hotel they run. It sits opposite the Chateau de l'Hermine and the ancient ramparts. The nearby Porte Poterne takes you into the historic centre past the ancient laundrywomen's cottages on the river. The alluring market hall is right there and if that's not enough, one of the best open air markets in France fills the streets twice a week. Vannes is a favourite town but the Villa Garenne makes any visit even better. The rooms are themed. Our 'music' room came complete with a guitar (in tune...) and a violin (didn't try - for the greater good of the neighbours). There is a free public carpark close by though it is in high demand and you have to be patient. We are already looking forward to our next visit (and we rarely go back to the same hotel twice).
Cons: Nothing at all - except that we had to leave after only three nights.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Helen was a great hostess. The Villa is beautifully decorated. It is close to the city walls. Great for walking around town.
7.9 Good
Pros: A very friendly comfortable environment.
Cons: No tea making facilities or glasses in room which was up four flights of stairs.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Charming and welcoming hostess
Cons: rien
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location very good close to old town. Breakfast very good (inc boiled eggs) and even had some made available for early start on day of departure. Vannes is a lovely town.
Cons: Room a bit small. Parking quite difficult, given location and a map could have been provided to direct to free parking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was continental but local and homemade produce with fresh bread, croissants, homemade yoghurt and fresh fruit. Freshly made coffee and an egg boiler to use. No parking but St Josephs was an easy walk and although always busy, a short wait would get a space. Unloading a car can be done outside the Villa. Really friendly hosts. Simple walk to the centre of the old town and the dock front for restaurants.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds, lovely bed linen. High level of cleanliness. Very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent breakfast with locally or homemade produced products.
Cons: Storage on our room was a little insufficient. Not enough hangers or drawers to store clothes but this was a very minor detail and didn’t cause us too many problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was superb with French press coffee, fresh fruit and cheeses & of course croissants. The service was attentive but not intrusive.
Cons: For older travelers as we were, we did not know there were 40 steps to the third floor. it is okay except when having to get luggage up the stairs. Parking in the municipal lot up the hill behind the property may require you to be patient as local workers also use this lot during the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location & high standard were fabulous. The couple who run this delightful establishment were lovely. The breakfast was fabulous. The bed very comfortable, the shower excellent & our room beautiful. I couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We love this hotel and the location is glorious, totally relaxing with lovely views if you have a room with balcony. The staff are always helpful and the rooms very well appointed. We hope to return.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location beside the water. Good internet Restaurant and bar was handy. Outdoor lawn area with seating was a good place to enjoy a drink or two. A couple of nice cafés/eateries nearby.
Cons: No air conditioning Location was nice beside the water but you would need transport to get into town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great.
Cons: The parking was a problem at night when the restaurant was having a large event. Perhaps the hotel should have a valet for the non-hotel guests during those time when it is expected to be over full. The duty manager actually moved her car to give me a space. Bravo!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful location on the sea front. There was a walkway around the estuary. There is a bus into Vannes but we did not use it.
Cons: The room was small for the price paid. Food in outside restaurant not very good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location on waterfront. Superb comfortable bed. Very quiet. Excellent breakfast. Nothing not to like! Great.
Cons: Poor fixed price meal in Brasserie next door. Dead fly on tablecloth not dealt with well by front of house. Had to ask for bread to be replaced due to fly presence.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spacious and filled with light. A large balcony overlooking the garden and sea was equipped with table and chairs and ideal for relaxing. Our bed could easily have slept 3 and was very comfortable. Nice thick curtains efficiently blocked outside light so we were able to sleep, and the hotel is very peaceful and quiet. The pristine bathroom had plenty of room for all our bits and pieces. There is a good selection at breakfast. This was our third visit to the hotel, and I am pleased to say the standard of food in both restaurants was much better than last year. The hotel is in a nature-lover’s paradise with stunning scenery and many wooded areas with footpaths/cycle tracks to explore. Being tidal, the shore is host to a large variety of seabirds. I overheard someone say he had managed to photograph the Milky Way!
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good choice at buffet. Meal in brasserie a bit ordinary but diner in.main restaurant very good.
Cons: Scrambled egg bit synthetic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing hotel where the perfect situation is equaled to the marvellous staff who looked after us.

Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and a relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: Needs air conditioning in the rooms.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly peaceful given how close to the railway station it is. Lovely rooms with a very comfortable massive bed. Short walk to town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The room was delightful, with a lovely little private terrace, very comfortable bed, and nice furnishings, and even tea-making facilities (unusual in France). We both enjoyed our treatments in the spa. The reception rooms were very well appointed, lots of wood and relaxing areas with books and magazines. The overall impression was one of calmness and tranquillity, and it was obvious that a lot of money and thought had gone into making the hotel so welcoming. Pretty outdoor areas with a Japanese theme. Overall, far exceeded our expectations.
Cons: I would like to have seen more effort in eliminating plastic from the room - wrapping for toiletries, slippers etc. ( I would prefer to bring my own and not have them in the bathroom at all) and considering all the efforts to make the hotel as luxurious as they have, the towels were poor quality and very small!! Also, the dressing gowns provided for the spa were way too small - my husband had an XL and it didn't cover him at all, and my M was too small also.
6.7 Good
Cons: Disappointing location. Lacked atmosphere and would have benefited from a restaurant.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable and well decorated. I arrived very late and after the hotel reception was closed, however the hotel was very accommodating and arranged for me to get into my room. My room overlooked the old city walls and it was lovely to listen to the cathedral bells each evening. Lovely shower.
Cons: The breakfast were okay- nice coffee, but I wish there had been some sliced meats available. My shower room basin was faulty- the plug not fitting properly and the water draining away.

7.1 Good
Pros: Close to the expo park really good restaurant terrace outside the french windows of the room with table and chairs great to wind down after working all day.
Cons: Quite a distance from the town center large windows to the room causing the sun to make the room very hot with flimsy curtains and shutters to difficult to close and open quickly.
7.1 Good
Pros: Small, modern, boutique hotel. Clean, nice bathroom Reasonable room size Big bed Close to the ferry port (we made use of trips to the islands) Lovely walking Picnics on the beach
Cons: Hot weather, no air con. So we had the window part open Delivery vehicles arriving around the back from early hours (our room at the back) so our sleep disturbed most mornings. About 30 mins walk (1.5 miles) into Vannes town (flat easy walking but still a bit of a trek). Not many eating options within easy walk. Hotel food was ok but a bit pricey for what it was.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Travelling with family and disabled mother and it was brilliant for her and the grandchildren too. Large comfortable rooms, lots of parking great, great breakfast and the staff were lovely and very helpful. It was a stop off on our way home but we would think of stay8ng longer next time.

Pros: Food and staff were excellent
Cons: Television could have had a news in English
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What can you say staff helpful great place to stay same as last time as i was there highly recommended
Cons: Nothing really
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of Vannes centre if you don't mind a 15/20 minute walk. It's close to boat trips and pleasant countryside and other places of interest as a base. The restaurant is good if limited and it's a nice hotel.
Cons: Nothing really to mention.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nothing special.
Cons: Poorly designed modern bathroom. Only one member of staff at breakfast trying to clear tables, replenish food etc. And not enough crockery or cutlery. It was chaos both mornings of our stay. And the breakfast cost nearly £12 per person. Lots of complaints but no refunds offered. Also noisy housekeeping staff at 7am on a Sunday morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the appart hotel room I was in. Kitchen facility was spotless.
Cons: The fact to have 2 spaces, kitchen next to the 2 beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel offers great value for money. We had a room with a double bed and a single bed, plenty of room for 3 people, toilet separate from bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities in room, a desk and seating area. Plenty of carparking even though hotel was busy. We stayed here for an overnight stay on our way back to the ferry port. I chose the hotel due to its value for money and it's location. It is just a few minutes drive from the beautiful Conleau area of Vannes. A real bonus was the restaurant. We had planned to go into Vannes to eat but it was pouring with rain so we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. We had 3 courses for 25 Euros, a great meal in a modern restaurant where it wasn't just hotel guests eating, thoroughly recommend it. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. A much cheaper option is to go into Vannes (although the breakfast did look great). We drove to the port area of Vannes, but it would be a pleasant walk from the hotel to the old centre. The hotel would be great for a few days break to visit Vannes, the Gulfe de Morbihan and the Carnac area.
Cons: Nothing not to like

TV good but couldn’t get films in English.. Good window that could be opened wide. good thick curtain.

No colour - white and very dark brown - not at all feminine! perfect for a man but maybe some flowers could have given a feminine touch and colour! Impersonal feel as a result! Hotel next to busy road - but also near centre.

It was 20' on foot to the city centre with a great parking space, so you didn't really have to move your car unless you headed for trips to the beautiful villages & countryside around.

Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like so I can’t write anymore
7.9 Good
Pros: Comfortable room with excellent staff. One staff member in particular was superb, always cheerful and friendly. She made the hotel a nicer place.
Cons: The location is not as close to town as expected. One review stated 10 minutes, we made it 20+ to reach the main areas.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet lift to room with balcony on second floor. (Room 205) The bed was comfortable except the waterproof mattress covers do tend to make you sweat through the night. Breakfast well organised and reasonable selection. Only 20 minutes walk to historic centre where you will find many good restaurants and patisseries. The harbour is only 20 minutes walk and a further 15 minutes walk to the boat quay where you can arrange a cruise around the Golfe of Morbihan which I would highly recommend.
Cons: No real complaints except some little problems which can easily be fixed. The reading light on the right side of the bed flickered continuously. The ceiling light in the bedroom did not illuminate. The lighting in the bathroom appears to need replacing as it is quite dim. Not really problems but will need attention.
5.8 Okay
Pros: We anticipated liking it more than we did.
Cons: Reception unfriendly and we waited fifteen minutes for the reception staff to get off the phone and book us in. We chose the hotel because of the restaurant but it was closed. This information was not on the website. We then had to drive to a restaurant.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, modern and nice staff
Cons: It was a bit away from town

Really good value and I like that it is close enough to the train station so I didn't have to drag my bag too far. You could not hear any trains, ever, but one came to pick me up when it was time to leave.

7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely. The decor is very nice and comfortable. Great shower.
Cons: The location is not in a nice part of town. Breakfast was a joke with one poor member of staff trying to cope with several guests at the same time. The eggs were cold, the bacon horrible and not much of anything else except baguette. Extra charges for dogs. The room is too small for 3 people.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very pleased and will revert in coming years.
7.5 Good
Pros: A nice breakfast especially fresh orange juice. Modern design and freshly renovated room. Elevator.
Cons: Stink from the sewer in the room (we couldn't get an other room, because all 3 persons room were booket). One set of disposable cosmetics on the arrival, the other one - after 3 days, not enough for 3 persons, regularly bathing family. A bit tiny room with no shelves.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was v good. Staff were delightful and helpful. Directions given and service given were impeccable. And we slept extremely well. And the car park is huge.
Cons: It’s a fairly hideous building which belies a very pleasant interior. Still, you can’t have everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was spacious, useful for me, as I have mobility issues. Bed was huge and comfortable. Bathroom very well planned for people like me. But it was the people who made it brilliant, receptionists, breakfast staff, restaurant people, all pleasant and helpful.
Cons: A grab rail in the shower.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good but expensive. Although the view from our room was overlooking car parks the location was generally good with a lovely waterside walk into the city. Good, secure private parking
Cons: It was disappointing that none of the staff we encountered appeared to speak a word of English - not what we would have expected from a 4 star hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was okay for us although if you wanted to be near the city it may be a little far out. It was clean, quiet, staff were friendly and helpful and it was easy parking.
Cons: Nothing really
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and on-site restaurant excellent. Parking excellent. Wi-if excellent.
Cons: Room smelt of body odour. Had to spray with smellie s twice a day to cope with it. Toilet seat noisy. Only BBC 24hr News English tv station. Not good for a commercial hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Giant king size bed was very comfortable. Staff were helpful and the attached brasserie served good quality, tasty food. There is a bus stop right outside that takes you to the port and the old city.
Cons: Breakfast is of a good quality (personally took room service), but is a whopping €16 per person.

Cons: Nothing.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room interior
Cons: Refill of water bottle daily
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staf were friendly and helpful. The location was good.
Cons: The room did not have air conditioning so was very hot although a fan was provided. There was no fridge or cold water available and only paper cups not china. The breakfast area was poor and lacked atmosphere and there was no facility to take breakfast outside in hot weather despite there being a garden. This was not good enough for a 4 star hotel. We are currently staying in a 3 star that has all these things.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big hotel with spa, conference espaces and parking. Perfect choice for business travelers with car. Closed to railway station and old center. There is own parking. Reception very helpful and polite, possible to leave luggage here. Rooms clean, there is a kettle (rare in France!), hair dryer, coffe, tee, water, locker. I had a nice view from my window to Cathedral. Recommend this hotel
Cons: Room was too small for this price. (But bed very big).
7.0 Good
Pros: Large bedroom, with good size bathroom. Good location just outside the old town, so an easy walk in but within own large car park.
Cons: Breakfast had been heavily used, so hard to find a clean table as the clearance was slow. They use keys which they like you to leave at reception, meaning in the evening you need to call the receptionist to get your key back when you return.
