Pros: The sunset water villa is awesome. It's very clean and tidy, and everything we need are well provided. The view is absolutely stunning. The food and drinks are great too. We tried the fine dining restaurant called Falhumaa and the food is of very reasonable price and excellent quality. The staff is very kind and helpful too. We will come back again for sure.
Pros: The staff were all very attentive. The managers were all very kind and always paid attention to our needs. At The Residence customers are always right. They will always prioritize their customers they will immediately attend to your needs and concers. They are the best! The water villa is very peaceful with lots of fishes in the water. The mini bar also in the villa is the best. They will always replace them everyday with drinks and snacks as a complimentary from them. The food in the buffet were delicious we always finished our meals like we could not breathe anymore because the food were all just very delicious with lots of different varieties. Thank you The Residence for your warm accommodation. Surely we recommend this place. We will be back for sure next time I will bring my Mother my daughter and my sisters
Cons: Nothing that we did not like at all
Pros: Very clean villa, relaxing, friendly staff, delicious food
Cons: It is a little bit far from Male airport the domestic flight take more than an hour .. other than that it was an amazing journey
Pros: the villa was great, the hotel facilities were great, especially the restaurants which deliver very delicious food. stuff was so friendly and helpful, professional enough to deliver your requests on time and with high quality.
Cons: In such weather guest will expect that both rooms are provided with A/C and not just the bed room, especially that guest is there for enjoying the marvelous view and will prefer to keep the pool door opened
Pros: We had overwater villa with pool. In real life looks much better than the pictures. The house reef in front of the villa is magic (sharks, tortles, string rays, colorful fishes); The Staff is the best I have ever seen; they are friendly, helpful, polite and very smart. They will do everything possible to make you feel confortable and welcome. Our butler was Francis: excellent professional. He made us feel VIP and without him our vacation would not be so magic. The private dinner is fantastic. Our chef was Sultan from Indonesia. The best dinner I have ever had in my whole life. In the diving center we met instructor Tiago. An excellent experienced diver. It was our first diving and he made it feel very easy and confortable plus we saw a lot of marine life diving up to 12 m. Excellent and honest instructor and I highly recommend you to dive with him when going there. I injured my foot on the coral during snorkeling and a doctor came in less than 5 minutes to our villa and took care of me. The bycicles are a plus in this hotel. The SPA provides a fantastic massage. The room service is excellent. The room cleaning is excellent: they clean the villa twice. The buggy (small electrical car) service is excellent. We had half board but we ate on dinner buffet only twice. Food on buffet is very good .The other nights we ate in the other restaurants and had private dinner.
Cons: The related problem is not hotel’s responsibility but must be commented here: When arriving in kooddoo island we discovered Maldivian airlines did not send our bags in our flight. We just received it 3:30 h later when our bags came in the next flight. I advise you to put some clothes and necessary things in your carry on bags.
Pros: Clean , good services
Cons: Food not our taste , it’s more Asian
Pros: Incredible staff, nothing was too much trouble and everyone went far out of their way to make us feel so special. Truly amazing service. And the resort is beautiful and the food superb.
Cons: Nothing. It’s paradise.
Pros: Everything was perfect: the villa, the beach, the service and the island itself. The house reef is wonderful and perfect for snorkeling. The staff is kind and helpful.
Pros: All the villas were very private and nicely furnished. No cars just bicycles which was fantastic riding down these beautiful white sand roads and lovely greenery growing with lighting on at night. Absolute magic. The jet skies were great and kayaks free to use and also snorkeling gear free. Lovely main pool. A beautiful French Restaurant surrounded by sea about 30m from the rim of the atoll which was fantastic. The Tapa and Lunch Bar were a favourite for us. The Spa was beautiful and great staff. A fantastic Resort and definitely not touristy as it is in the south Maldives.
Pros: Our stay was short and sweet. We didn't want to leave the place! The staff were amazing - they took care of us really well, and the place is a paradise.
Bringing stylish mid-scale accommodation to the pristine south of the Maldives. Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort provides one of the best value accommodation options in the spectacular Maldives. With 68 villas including 43 located over water and 25 scatter ed along the white sandy beach. The resort is built using local materials, bright colours and stylish furniture and interiors designs to reflect the Maldivian culture and the spirit of travel.
Pros: This was the best vacation ever!!! Everything was excellent and with a highest quality of service. When we arrived at the airport, we were a met by a gentleman who arranged everything for the internal flight without any delays. The water villa was amazing, and it was above my expectations and much better than the pictures in the site. The coral reefs in front of the villas are astonishing. We were snorkeling till the end of the reef and we saw turtles, sharks and millions of fish. Thr food in the 2 restaurants is also excellent. Maybe only for breakfast the choise could have been more extensive than the present one, especially for european guests. In general - I have spend the best vacation with my wife. Thank you for that.
Cons: The only maybe negative thing is that the resort is enclosed and you cannot take a walk around the island because of the airport.
Pros: Clean beach, amazing staff.
Cons: 1- Unfortunately the cleaning service does not match the resort standards and you have to check on them over and over to make sure they clean everything 2- Few items in the mini bar
Pros: Villas are spot on with infinity view of ocean. Picture Spots were beautiful all over the property. Lots of places for chit chat and views all over the resort.
Cons: Too far from male airport. Options of food could have been more that what is offered. Dinner and lunch menu is very less
Pros: I loved the private sun deck in the water villas and your private view of the sea with a staircase into the ocean. So peaceful and calming. The outdoor shower was also a nice addition to the water villa. I really enjoyed the diving with the turtles and dolphins expedition. I'm missing the resort already. The international breakfast spread was lovely - great French cheeses - and the evenings meals of Ceylonese food were great too. Lovely wines as well. An excellent stay and I highly recommend this property.
Cons: I wish the housekeeping staff would ring the bell before entering the room. Plus I wish this resort offered a half board option.
Pros: From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out the resort staff were all very professional, attentive and had a friendly smile on their face. The overwater sunset pool villa is worth every dollar, prior to our stay i had compared other hotels to mercure maldives, this one was offered the best value for money. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Beds are really comfy, you can easily drift away into sleep and then wake up again in paradise. I booked in advance of 10 months as on this trip i planned to propose and it was perfect, the Mercure team went above and beyond to assist Can't thank the team enough.
Cons: A few minor feedback on the resort facilities. There are very limited supply of equipment such as snorkeling gear. We had to wait for 3 days before they had any snorkel gear available for hire, that just isnt enough for the demand.
Pros: Everyone and every thing was perfect. Even when our flight was delayed your staff grabbed our bags and ran them to the gate to make sure we made it on time. Resort was mind blowing and we will return
Pros: I liked that this Resort is secluded, not crowded ,giving your needed privacy on your beach and pool area. Quite ambience, romantic setting and safe for babies/toddlers! Staff treatment is more than kind and sweet. They used to hold my baby while i was eating in the restaurant. Room service is more than amazing, they are quite and clean. Kayaking and snorkeling is offered for free . Their fishing trip is fun. Also they have good spa services! I like the fact that everyday in the restaurant they do different theme nights, one of which was BBQ night outside. They also do activities such a cooking shows, Maldivian art, dance, hanging out with staff, and even cinema in the open air! You will never get bored!
Cons: Coming from the middle east, i found the food could be a little bit spicy and exotic to what i am used to. They have delicious breakfast and sweets. But maybe the lunch and dinner could be less exotic (less Asian impacted) and could be more a little bit more global such as offering pizza, burgers, steaks...etc Yet the chef was very nice and he once did Mediterranean night especially for us!
Pros: The over water pool villa with the sunset view was beyond amazing , the staff were nice , friendly , helpful , Dinesh at the bar made sure we had free flowing cocktails always , Majid was an amazing restaurant Host, so helpful & the head chef Juber words fail me , we had daily treats from him , he was simply amazing , they made our stay so incredible . On my birthday they made me feel so special. It was an incredible experience. I would recommend this property to anyone lookin for a homely out of world experience in Maldives
Pros: We have spent 6 days at Mercure Koodoo in a sunset overwater villa and had a great time. Everyone was really nice and we felt like at home from the first minute. Special thanks to Rediana, Harsha and Tholath. They were amazing to us and we loved to be at the sunset bar and have a chat with them. Tholaths Cappuccino is worth to mention too- very tasty! They were super attentive and organized two times a Thai dinner for us which was prepared by the Resorts Thai chef Sauce after we had mentioned that we love Thai food. The Curry and fish he prepared for us was really really good and we can only recommend to ask for this as well during a stay. Last but not least we also want to thank Carolina and Flo, our two dive instructors including the entire boat crew. They were super fun and we had great dives with them. We'll for sure come back and hope to see the them again. The staff is a true value for the Resort. Axel & Isabell
Cons: Close to the local airport so airplanes can be heard from now to then. Local prayer could be heard from now to then. No big deal or disturbing though. .
Pros: Great location really convenient close to the Airport (2 minutes)
Cons: Increase the child menu option ( add pizza and burger)
With a stay at Village Life Maldives in Maamendhoo, you'll be by the ocean and close to Kooddoo Harbor and Kodahuttaa Island. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean , welcoming stuff . Good food . Easy to get there . The owner is friendly makes his best to ensure great vacation
Cons: No beach (owner took us to the picnic island , as beach on the island was not clean and pleasant) , nothing to do on this island, unless you are ready to do and pay for entertaining activities outside the island On diving center was closed and another one on kooddoo island was fully booked .
Pros: Naz (the manager) is a high-energy, hard-working guy who makes everything run smoothly (and who is also trying to improve his local community). He also makes a great fish curry! My room was large and well-designed and Naz will supply a kettle for making tea and coffee if you ask. The island is friendly - everyone smiles and says “hello”. I joined some local ladies for their version of “aqua aerobics” in the sea... And the Guesthouse restaurant is a good place to meet other people - I made two new friends there as soon as I arrived! And the Mercure resort on Kooddoo is a short boat ride away if you want a beer, a meal or just a change of scene. They welcome non-residents and the service there was outstanding too.
Cons: My room looked out onto/into the restaurant and was a bit dark inside with the windows closed (but this is the way houses there are built to keep cool). I thought the meals were a few dollars more expensive than I would like and I preferred the traditional Maldivian breakfast of tuna and coconut to the “fry up”. Again, a personal preference. The beaches on the island have a lot of garbage on them, but Naz is organizing regular clean-ups - so hopefully this will improve with time and education in the local schools.
Pros: SInce the booking time itself all the queries were very elaborately answered by Anil, he made us relax from that moment itself, then it was just a matter of reaching there at Village life & experiencing it. When we reached Koodoo airport, both Naz & Anil were at the airport to receive us. The boat transfer to village life was smooth & once at village life they made us more comfortable. The calmness of the place, the love & caring of the people in village life is really something different. We felt at HOME all the time we were there. The professional way in which both of them planned our stay was amazing. During our stay We visited picnic island, beach at Maamendhoo, did snorkeling, sunset cruise & watched dolphins without anyone closeby an amazing experience. The feeding for sharks, the jetski experience ( unforgettable experience for our Kid)The islands we visited were just perfect as that gave us good time for ourselves. To top our stay we had amazing meals (variety of fish dishes) prepared by Naz himself. The desserts were just too good for our likings. All the support staff were too understanding & caring, just made us feel Home Away from home. kudos to team Village life.. Naz, Anil, Falah... thanks for all the love you have shown towards us... we r already missing you guys... We will be back soon....
Cons: I agreed with the manager for the transfer from male to koddoo for 605 usd ( for 2 people and baby less than 2 years) and 50 usd for transfer from koddoo to the hotel but when paying je added 12% of tax which was different from what he said before the reservation
Pros: The Room is clean, bed is comfortable. All the basics needed are there. Staff is very nice and try all they can to make us happy. New years eve dinner was great and delicious lobsters were available !! Also, I would like to add that the owner of this place tries to promote awareness to protect environnement and by going to this place you are making a difference in helping towards increasing local island economy and waste cleaning (which is a real issue in the whole Maldives) !!
Cons: Food choice is very restricted and basic. The current beach is a 15/20min walk from the guesthouse. The beach is basic (none of pictures featured)... They are in the process of developing the rest of the island in order to have a clean beach close to the guesthouse. This is a brand new guesthouse, a lot of the description on booking is false and this was very disappointing for us... however, the host made us discover the REAL LOCAL ISLAND LIFE and this was an amazing experience which made up for all the cons discovered when we got there... overall and honestly speaking, most reviews below are not true but it is worth going to discover an amazing local island life ! There is nothing to do on the island and only one beach available for now. All excursions are wonderful but extra to be paid.
Pros: True village life away from the resorts. Great trips with the owner! Perfect place to relax and see the amazing underwater life!
Pros: Excellent value for money considering you are in the Maldives,
Pros: Room was nice
Cons: Nothing is as described and very expensive and you pay for everything dirty island To full and dirty and absolutely nothing to do or something to buy impossible because there is nothing.
Pros: The owner Naz is an amazing person who will guide you through all natural wonders of Maldives. He is a good cook himself. The whole experience is dream like and you will forget any of your old tough times and get rejuvenated when you are there. I will recommend you to do one activity per day. I had done several of them: 1) Interacting with Dolphins in the ocean. 2) Island hopping. 3) Live fish catch and barbecue in a remote island. 4) Snorkeling to see beautiful marine life. 5) Shark feeding. (please note for each activity the owner charges an amount) The people with him are very friendly and one of the most hospitable people in the world. Maldives is a place for complete relaxation and place where all your past worries melt away into the serene nature. This is something I am looking forward to do every 6 months to 1 year, which I recommend others to do the same. Cheers!!!
Pros: The room was good. Shower áswel. Owner and staff are friendly but if you asked them something you aren’t getting it.
Cons: Island dirty and full. Piece of nice beach over one km. Food expensive for what you get and same everyday. Very basic 12 $ for one fried egg a little bit of baked beans and some slices of sausage and toast. 15$ for small piece of fish and rice. Overpriced in every way cause you paying for everything boat to get there and on top of whatever you do. For example. One dive from the next door Mercure hotel costs 85$ go and come back 3 minutes by boat 44$ plus taxes 24% is about 162$. And that goes for everything. All the facilities described many are not true or available from the next door resort costing a lot. Bicycles for example weren’t there but where on the list. When I read the reviews from village life I was really impressed and excited but the real thing is completely different overall very expensive and dirty nothing to do island.
