Serenity Island Resort - Bounty Island - Bedroom

9.2 Excellent (309 reviews)

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were lovely - I originally had a garden bure but due to a faulty lock was upgraded to a beachfront bure! The garden room was nice but if you can, definitely go for a beachfront room as the hammock and beachfront view are well worth it. After reading reviews on the meals I was a little dubious, but the quality of all meals I ate at the resort was fantastic. There was a good choice, the service was efficient and the food was delicious. Having the pool was a huge bonus for when you just wanted to laze around without getting sandy. There were loads of comfy sunloungers and couches in both the sun and shade. The beach is beautiful but does have some coral washed in on the tide, so not great for lying on. This doesn't matter as there are plenty of loungers by the pool and by the beach. The snorkeling is really good and easy to access off the beach. A highlight for me was the baby turtle sanctuary. This combined with great snorkeling, a beautiful beach and the pool facility is a winning combination.
Cons: Nothing, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location close to mainland. Felt like we had the tiny island all to ourselves. Super comfy bed and the rooms are so close to the water. The performances by the staff were so wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff since arrival, received with a Fijian Welcome... The Island and the beach front bure are amazing... Good spot for snorkeling...
Cons: Restaurant food could be better, but apart from it everything was amazing.
7.5 Good
Pros: The place itself is beautiful. Staff was very helpful trying their best to accommodate us in every sense.
Cons: Infestation with bed bugs, causing us terrible skin problems that needed medical attention after holiday. Very poor breakfast and lunch choice; same menu every day.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Serenity is a great place to relax and the Bures are recently updated so clean and comfortable. The staff are both friendly and helpful. The resort is small and not overly populated so you can enjoy a very peaceful stay choosing whether or not to engage with other guests.
Cons: The restaurant is fine in the evening and the food ok but some meals were disappointing. During the day the restaurant suffers with lots of flies especially at lunchtime we chose to avoid. The water is undrinkable as it is desalinated so recommend you take a few litres of your own as some guests have reported the shop running out. Would also recommend taking fruit juice as the mixers available at the bar are limited.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Awesome location only 20 minutes from the mainland. It’s a beautiful island with lovely, modern rooms and great snorkelling right outside your room! John was great! Free Kayak and paddle-boards and they have an amazing turtle breeding program!
Cons: The staff (mainly the women) were unfriendly. The food was diabolical... it was bland, tasteless, tiny portions and very underwhelming the chef just isn’t up to scratch at all. The flies in the restaurant are terrible and investment in fly screens is surely a must! The “free” continental breakfast was laughable. Only 30% of the things on the food, snacks or drinks menus are available and being only 20 minutes from town this is just not acceptable, take them off of the menus if he staff can’t be bothered to order stock. The rooms where clean and tidy and newly modernised, however... after 3 nights in our room (Bure 8) we found 2 bedbugs!! After telling reception about the bed bugs it took several hours for them to move us to a new room for the final night of our stay. This place has so much potential but a serious overhaul of staff, chefs and operations needs to addressed. Also, for reasons unbeknown to us, we were the only couple over a 4 day period not to have been greeted or wished farewell with a song sung by the staff on the beach. Every other couple that came or departed got the welcome song and the goodbye song accept for us, why? Who knows? Overall we were left feeling very disappointed and underwhelmed by our stay at Serenity Island Resort and having now visited many other incredible Fijian island resorts we would never even consider returning to this one.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The beach and island are amazing and the staff were soooo friendly! Sunsets to die for.
Cons: They ran out of drinking water!! and coffee pods and booze twice during our short stay. The food was AWFUL! I saw cockroaches crawling over the processed cheese in the mornings. Take food, coffee pods, booze, water and snacks with you!! The coffee machine was also broken too :( Cocktails were very inconsistent sometimes they were too strong and others couldn't even taste the booze. They ran out of so many things everyday.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The pool set up is great for kids and the choice of 4 restaurants at the resorts provides lots of food options. Kids liked the kids club activities Staff very very friendly and helpful
Cons: Beds were a bit firm for our liking other than that hard to fault the facilities
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location Great facilities For families
Cons: Food and drinks very expensive especially if you are taking a few kids
8.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super friendly and excellent with my younger son. No need to watch him entirely. Great location if you're just doing what we did and stopping due to a flight stop over anyways. Just stayed two nights.
Cons: If I was deliberately going to Fiji, I would want to stay at a place with a nicer beach. Denarau is a man made island, (although beautifully done; reclaimed swamp land), so the ocean looks muddy. While the main beds in the room were comfortable and had lots of pillows, the sofa bed was the most uncomfortable sofa bed I have ever slept on!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room and the bed were very comfortable.
Cons: Some of the signage could have been better. The toilet didn't flush particularly well!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this hotel - the staff were extremely friendly & helpful from the moment we arrived, great service, very clean, great amenities. We especially enjoyed our beach massages and the adults only pool! It was also great how you could stroll along the beach and visit the other resorts for a drink or meal.
Cons: There really wasn't much to dislike! The only thing I could say is it would have been nice to have an adults only bar/restaurant as there were quite a few kids around!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were fantastic, very friendly
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good facility inside my room
Cons: I have to wait for > 1.5 hours before I could have my room. Their checkfin time is 3 pm, awfully late.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were all very friendly at this resort. The Bula bus was great to get around the island.
Cons: Too many children. Whilst there is an adults only pool it is next to the main pool and there is very little breeze which makes it uncomfortable to sit around. Sadly, I wouldn’t stay here again for that reason.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Fijian people are beautiful people. Nothing is a problem for any of the staff Always smiling & welcoming with a “Bula”
Cons: Nothing
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Most staff very nice and helpful; villas good for kids; pool out the back door.
Cons: But pricey; some wait staff were rude; banging doors at all hours was a bit annoying but not the hotels fault - although soft close on doors might be good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great pools! Rooms very comfortable. Great to have a washing machine and dryer in the room. All staff were friendly and helpful. Extremely comfy beds! Choice of breakfast at Sheraton or Westin- both were good.
Cons: Bit confusing to get around the 3 hotels- bit of a maze. We weren't sure where to check in as you need to go to the Westin for checkin and checkout which we didn't realise. Luckily the staff at Sheraton arranged for a porter to transport us in a golf buggy so we weren't traipsing around in the dark.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good sized apartment for all the family
Cons: The overall size of complex to big to busy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous villa resort that catered for everyone and everything as you can also enjoy the sister resorts facilities. Staff excellent especially at check in with Semi at the Westin. Only tired 2 restaurants/cafes but food great. 2 Shuttles, one free the other you pay for but great if you are elderly or have young kids. We walked around and loved it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: perfect, they had everything we needed for all our children & the adults
Cons: everything

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden and environment were fantastic.
Cons: The bed was a bit hard and the noise from the road during the night woke us up a few times.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved the bures nestled in amongst the tropical bush setting. The breakfast and coffee was delicious. The staff were lovely. Very peaceful and tranquil holiday - no kids at the resort!
Cons: There's a gravel road right next to it, but our bure (#3) was a good distance from it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful bure, nice staff, surprisingly good breakfast in comparison to awfuk dinner
Cons: Disgusting Summer, straight from the microwave, we could even hear its sound. Disgeaceful
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were so polite, friendly and knowledgeable. They helped my husband and I organise things to do as well as a rental car. The rooms are nice and have everything you should need. The garden and pool are lovely and it’s nice and secluded if you are after a quiet get away.
Cons: It’s quite far away from the touristy activities if you don’t wish to just stay in the room. The room we were in was close to a road and you could very clearly hear every car that went past. It’s quite expensive - you would pay a similar price, if not less, to stay in Denarau (the very tourist focused area) but it’s good if you wish to be away from people as there are only 6 bures which is nice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bure was excellent. The area was super quiet, great for relaxing. The staff was super nice and welcoming. And I loved the in house pets
Cons: It a bit far away from Nadi and Port Denarau, which makes it a bit tough if you want to go out for dinner, though I think they have drivers that can give you lifts. We had a car so it wasn't an issue for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing and accommodating
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and accommodating Exceptionally clean and beautiful gardens stylish bathroom Excellent Wifi
Cons: Some aspects of the resort are a little tired ie pool. The resort is isolated need to take taxi No TV in bedrooms

10.0 Excellent
Pros: WOW this resort is an absolute delight! Not far from the bustling city of Lautoka, it has a beautiful golden beach, great swimming pool, lovely bures and warm and friendly staff. The owners are amongst the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet. We have stayed at a number of other island resorts in Fiji and would regard this one as the best. It is a smaller, serene, resort with less people and suits all types of travelers including if you are on your own. The boat is available 24 hours and it is no trouble at all to go back and forth from the mainland. The food is delicious, dont miss the kakoda!
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Occasionally smoke drifted across from the mainland
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the breakfast fruit platter. And on request they also served eggs and a little cheese. We really liked the traditional Fijian dishes and the wonderful salads. We could even drink the water off the tap! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were also so lucky to have the owner of the resort plus his family holidaying there during our stay. They made us especially welcome and inclusive.
Cons: The breakfast was very basic. Most of the time there was no yogurt available. The loud music in the pool area close to the accommodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Is was relaxing and you can snorkel right there and it is easy to venture into the city. Quite at the resort. Small pool was nice. We stayed just a couple nights as part of our trip. it’s small so if you want a more private getaway this hotel has that feeling. They will easily take you back and forth from the main island.

7.9 Good
Pros: We originally booked at the sheraton, however due to some issues they moved us to the Westin. The experience was very good though, and the credited us with some funds which covered breakfast and dinner for the duration of our stay.
Cons: I think it could have warned us that we may be moved. We were lucky to have a car to move around all our luggage but that was the only minor thing about the experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had amazing staff, from cleaners to bar staff to wait staff to pool attendants! The grounds were beautifully maintained and the room clean and spacious. We enjoyed relaxing and sipping cocktails by the pool and loved listening to the band every evening. The facilities are great for families too.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: quiet and classy room and amenities, bad beach so book tour or private island tour - great honeymoon and it was close to all - taxi tries to rip you off
Cons: quiet and classy room and amenities, bad beach so book tour or private island tour - great honeymoon and it was close to all - taxi tries to rip you off
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great room, friendly staff.
Cons: Price of drinks is way too high. $83 AUD for a bottle of Australian Rose, $8 AUD for a ( not cold ) Fiji Bitter, $18 AUD for a glass of wine and it goes on - silly prices. Does not stack up when you consider the overall cost. We stayed in two other places before the Hilton on this trip so can make a direct comparison.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spectacular. The food was good and the staff was wonderful.
Cons: My only complaint about this property is that if you are looking for clear water and white sandy beaches....do not stay here or anywhere on Denarau Island. Nobody goes in the murky, nasty water and only a few people venture out on to the beach for any time. It is a lot of very nice resorts with great pools and that is where everyone stays. Not what I was looking for in paradise. This is not a knock on the property itself, just its location.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Free transportation to airports, Very good breakfast buffet.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff
Cons: Didnt have variety during breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for a night after 6 nights on one of the islands. We'd stayed at a nearby hotel (I won't mention it by name) for a night at the beginning of our holiday and expected more or less the same from the Tanoa, being a similar class hotel. However we were much happier with the quality of this room than our previous hotel- it had been reasonably recently decorated, was clean, and the air-conditioning unit was much quieter than the last place we stayed! We were so happy we'd chosen to swap hotels to this one for the last night. The restaurant downstairs offers a reasonable choice for dinner and staff were friendly and helpful from the concierge, porter right through to the wait staff in the restaurant.
Cons: Breakfast wasn't great. Bad coffee. Cereals in individual plastic packets (when lots of other hotels are trying to reduce waste), no dairy-free milk option, and limited fruit choice. The shower could have been a bit cleaner. But these were outweighed by the overall good points - cooked breakfast was good and we were really happy with this option for an overnight stay before we flew out.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location close to the airport was a bonus. Staff were great and they even paid for our taxi as the shuttle bus was overloaded with a rugby? team. Dinner options were good and we made use of the pool area and the gym facility
Cons: Rooms a little dated
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to Nadi Airport
Cons: Apparently changed their computer systems and the booking and price weren't in their system at checkin. It had to be resolved at both check in and check out (price discount) Our room was over the pool and restaurant/bar area. there was a loud person drinking at the bar and yelling for almost 2 hours which became very annoying and wasn't handled by security staff so appears this is normal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable hotel with a gym, yummy breakfast, extremely friendly and welcoming staff.
Cons: I booked a few months in advance, yet there were no single rooms left. As a result it was quite costly for one person.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The outside front if the property is poorly designed for pick up and drop off

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Value for money, very convenient recommend for another visit
Cons: Stayed for 7 days room was no being vacuumed
7.9 Good
Pros: The self contained room is very good. HAndy with the washer and dryer. It is self catering so no breakfast included - and no restaurant at the hotel. There is however a good supermarket in the same building.
Cons: The TV system has a good selection of channels for Fiji BUT the control system is complex and unreliable and needs some printed instructions as it is a unique wifi based system

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed. Bula bus convenient to Denarau
Cons: Construction was annoying. Very noisy with kids. Not a place for a quiet break
8.2 Excellent
Cons: AC wouldn't go 24 C and safe did not work and repair efforts at both were futile.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms could do with a facelift (particularly the bathroom which was more like 3* not 5*), but the staff were fantastic throughout the resort, kids club was brilliant, and the pool was so relaxing! For a hotel near the airport, I’d definitely stay again!
Cons: Breakfast options limited (unless you want $50pp champagne buffet), rooms were drab and not 5* luxury.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It's all good
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, great bed, great hotel location right on the water, huge pool, plenty of activities on site
Cons: a few areas of resort need updating - pool tile looks a little tired, etc. people saving lounge chairs by pool means there aren't enough seats and despite a hotel sign saying towel left on chairs would be removed after 30 minutes, when we asked, the person responsible wasn't willing to help. Not a major deal - we ended finding chairs on the beach, but a annoyance they are obviously used to dealing with.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great for kids and adults, really enjoyed the pool area. Staff went above and beyond for our kids!
Cons: Meals and are expensive but no worse than any other resort on Denarau.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The resort was fantastic, however the costs in Fiji have escalated dramatically and they are now becoming a lace not to have a holiday unless you can get all food and drinks included
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, amazing food also with gluten free options, nice activities and huge swimming pool with enough places in the shade for our 2 year-old daughter.
Cons: The bathroom was very old...I think it's good that Sofitel started to renovate them in all rooms. Unfortunately, the sea in this area is not a blue lagoon like we thought it would be.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic rooms and wonderful check in with the Waitui club staff. The meals at Solis were delicious.
Cons: Loved everything

Pros: The staff were so helpful and friendly especially the lady behind the travel desk who went out of her way to help us the best that she could. It was such a nice place I loved it xx
Cons: The location, the staff, the rooms and the beach
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - good location, by the beach - friendly staff - good food - beach volleyball everyday
Cons: - the dorm room is next to swimming pool so sometime it is a bit noisy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly great value for money
Cons: It’s about a $15 taxi ride to hostel rather then 150m walk
8.8 Excellent
Pros: If you are looking to go to Fiji for a reasonable price this is the place to go! The staff is really nice and helpful with answering questions. Taxis were right there ready to take you wherever you needed to go. You could sign up for activities there at the activities desk.
Cons: The bathroom in the lobby/bath area could of been cleaned more often due to the volume of people using it. The common area was terrific for hanging out: Hammocks, ping pong, pool, swimming pool, lounge chairs. the food was unique, healthy choices, and reasonably priced.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good hostel to kick start or finish your trip to the Yasawas. Staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is fantastic at the bar. Have the Ika Vaka Lolo, amazing meal!

Cons: Nothing - I wouldn't change a thing to be honest and we will definitely be back!!

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The food at the restaurant next to the pool was amazing! Seafood pasta the best i have ever had!
Cons: Lack of hygiene in bathrooms. Very dirty, mould, rusty shower and taps. Cracks in bath. Felt more dirty being in the bathroom than outside. When requested to fix lights, staff said yes but did not happen. Main light out, could not see well. After room was serviced, daughter earphones were on the side table, we came back after day out and they were gone. Staff were called, no response back.
6.7 Good
Pros: It was good for what I needed at the time
Cons: The place needs a bit of love
6.0 Good
Pros: The hospitality I liked.
Cons: The servings of food were too small. The price you pay for food on the menu is too expensive.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff. Poorly managed
Cons: Derelict condition. Unclean rooms. Experienced rats at the breakfast buffet. Reported the matter to the bar staff and front desk.
7.1 Good
Pros: Sea view from room
Cons: Little bit more garden would add lots of value
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great.
Cons: Roads was in disrepair very deep pot hole that jerked you around. And when rained fill with water turned to mud making it terrible to walk to pool or restaurant Plus the Sugar cane trains going passed your door @ 2 3 4am waking us up. Also failed to pick us up to go to office. Went to bathroom at night and had minimum of 4 or 5 Cockroaches to greet me also toilet seat was attached on one side. Beware walking on the beach south of resort a mass of broken bottles and rubbish not related to resort.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was great. Activities advertised weren't on offer as at the very beginning of the season (so no pool bar or evening entertainment) but it wasn't a problem. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were wonderful.
Cons: Bathroom could do with a refurbishment. Sugarcane train comes through the resort every morning (very early) and is noisy! not a luxurious place but very friendly.
