Napua Club amenities are great which includes a continental breakfast and afternoon hor d'oeuvres among other things. The concierge was very friendly and helpful, and nearly all the staff was warm and friendly.
The resort is massive and takes awhile to walk between shops, food, pool, and beach. The pool-side chair is first come first serve and is INCREDIBLY popular so it’s very difficult to get a chair. The Napua Club rooms have a great view, but the downside is if you have light sleeping little ones then the live music playing until 9pm can be clearly heard through the room door. Also, the walls are fairly thin: we heard the neighbors alarm and TV too clearly and either made it hard to sleep or we woke up with them.
Pools and beach were amazing. Grounds were very well maintained.
Prices were OUTRAGEOUS for food and drinks. Hotel starting to feel dated -colors, furniture, building structure... Regular rooms are small for the $$ being spent. Breakfast service was terrible. Need more activities that are included.
Amazing hotel. Great amenities, restaurants, and pool is a lot of fun. Will come again
The room was old. Needs updating
Will not go again. Overpriced, sloppiness here and
Location. The view. The beautiful park like gardens. The bathroom was very nice.
The hotel messed up our booking. The famous water elevator didn't work. Cleaning happened very late and one day only after asking. The doors so are thin that everyone walking by sounds like they're inside the room. Too few pool chairs. 7 waterslides - 5 of them are a joke. The coffee shop has a pathetic supply of goods. The gym is average.
Great for young families; sub-par to expectations
Landscaping and Christmas decorations were done well; bell hop, valet, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were very pleasant.
The environment was very busy (family groups and children were the major customers, resulting in lots of little ones running about the resort). It's not a very relaxing atmosphere for folks looking for a quiet getaway from the busy aspects of everyday life. Attention to cleanliness was subpar to expectations (missing tissue box; (not requested) playpen was present in box on floor in main room; balcony rails had dirt residue throughout; light switches were dirty for misaligned--due for replacement). We asked valet to retrieve our vehicle, but valet staff did not alert us of our car's arrival resulting in a 15-min wait until we finally asked what had taken so long. Greeting staff in lobby failed to provide lei to my fellow traveller upon her arrival despite it being a customary practice for all guests.
Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. I love the lotions, linens and towels. Pools and beach are marvelous. Breakfast buffet is delicious. I enjoyed the visiting jewelers and artists Perfect vacation
Luxury and Romance
It was so beautiful. They put flowers on the bed and the room was beautiful. We ordered room service in the morning and the food was amazing! I can't wait to go back to this beautiful resort.
Overflowing with amenities, the Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, is a destination on its own—an impressive feat considering its location along Maui’s prized beaches. Four restaurants, two expansive pools, and a 50,000-square-foot spa help create a destination favored by all, including honeymooners, families, and business travelers. The beachfront location is just 30 minutes from Kahului Airport. Boasting about 40 acres of lush property dotted with Hawaiian trees, pools, and colorful flowers, the Grand Wailea makes an instant impression with a dramatic waterfall along the resort’s driveway. The water features continue into the lobby with manicured trees leading the way for guests. Guests enjoy ocean views from many of the rooms, which feature kitchen areas, HD television, cozy robes, fast Wi-Fi, and more. From the waterfall- and grotto-laden Canyon Pool to the quieter, adult-only Hibiscus Pool, the resort boasts many ways for guests to relax and recharge. An on-site spa features a full menu of massages, as well as a fitness center, group classes, and complimentary on-beach yoga. The resort’s stretch of sandy beach is ideal for soaking up the sun while the gentle waves were made for beginning surfers. Activities at the resort include snorkeling—the best is found at the beach’s southern end, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Gear for all can be rented on site. Guests can explore the surrounding area by checking out one of the resort’s complimentary beach cruisers. An arcade/hangout spot allows kids to burn off energy playing video games. Once guests work up an appetite, four restaurants, two bars, and a coffee shop are available, in addition to room service.
