The rooms are big and nicely decorated; the town it is situated in is adorable. You feel like you are staying in the middle of a forest. Some of the staff seemed a little unknowledgeable about the hotel. We thought it was slightly misleading because you don't stay in the actual castle -- you stay in other buildings on the castle's grounds. The main castle is actually a summer, outdoor theater.
Small town atmosphere, short walk through the woods along the Jags River. The breakfast buffet was set up in the center of the large dining hall. I think it would be better if set up in a more intimate area.
Unfortunately my TV did not work for a long period of time, however i was offered another room.
My husband and I were very happy with the hotel and the service. It more than met all our expectations. Our room was very large, nicely furnished, had a view of the river below and was very clean and quiet. The breakfast is one of the top ones we have had anywhere. We love smoked salmon and there was heaps of it as well as a good assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, eggs and coffee. It would be a great location for a wedding or any other sort of function where you want people to be together and have a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful too. While it did not bother us because it was very clean, the bathroom is due for a refurbishment. Perhaps, as the room is so large the bathroom could be expanded and modernised.
Everything was just perfect!
good room with adjacent lounge; well-furnished
The castle was beautiful, the room was charming and very comfortable. The dining room was the favorite of my whole trip; the buffet breakfast was varied and all the food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The village of Jaegsthausen was charming and scenic to walk through. The staff is what makes the Hotel Die Goetzenburg so excellent- they are knowledgeable, helpful, very accommodating, and well spoken. We will definitely tell others about this gem.
I can't say enough about this hotel! As a family with young kids, it's hard to travel and find a hotel the whole family can love. The room itself was spacious and clean and big enough for a family of four. The breakfast buffet was copious and delicious (one of the best I've experienced). The biggest draw for us, however, were the facilities outside. Their park is amazing! A zip line, climbing wall, swings, playground, fun participatory sculpture games and the beautiful surrounding gardens and orchard made this a kids paradise. Highly recommended. We also loved the fact that Schwabish Hall was only minutes away, but that we were staying in the countryside. Would loved to have tried the spa facilities. Next time!
Nice size, clean and comfortable room with large opening windows. Ask beforehand if a wedding or party is due to be held as it will be noisy, depending on the location of your room, until the early hours.
The staff and owner treated us great(like part of the family) None
Nice friendly interior, fine breakfast buffet sortiment. Seems more for business than for leisure purposes, really poor seating comfort in rooms, small tv placed too high, not so clean in room and breakfast area.
I enjoyed the location of the hotel, more out in the country than in the city. The service and food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. A very clean and confortable hotel.
Was a beautiful room with a good view. Was within walking distance of restaurants and some shoppong. Enjoyed dinner in the Hotel and the breakfasts were excellent. no
Comfortable and clean rooms. Good food, service and atmosphere in the evening in the restaurant. Bright and spacious breakfast area with extensive buffet. We stayed on 2 seperate occasions. The first room we stayed in had velux windows which proved noisy when it rained heavily in the night. The second room however had ordinary windows and was very quiet.
Nice room ; very friendly and helpful ; parking place for bycicles ; excellent evening meal Far from center of Schwäbisch Hall (and busy road to get there with a bycicle)
Nice hotel, excellent breakfast.
Restaruant was closed. Car parking poor.
The staff went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable such as setting out breakfast for me at 5:30 am as I had to catch an early train. The free wi fi in the room was a pleasant change from my other hotel experiencews. There is nothing to mention in this category.
it is central in the town cleaning of thhe rooms must improve as i had the same towls each day and the same half filled glass of water left out each day.
The hotel staff was cooperative, welcoming, attentive. The food in their restaurant was excellent... and I'm not easily impressed. The local white wines were excellent examples of reisling. I felt I was in the heart of a lovely town. The walks invited you to tour the city. It was a comfortable, well designed update of an older building and made me feel apart of this lovely old river town. No AC and thus it can be quite noisy at night, especially since one of the nights I was there was "band night," a city wide promotion that featured many types of music in many venues. There was no escaping the noise until 2:30 in the morning. Such is life.
The hotel was positioned near a river and had some nice views, a short walk over river via foot bridges and you found yourself in a very old and pictures city centre. Found Some good food and a selection of local bars. The bar could have been better, it is only very small and on our second evening was closed on our return froma walk at 10.00pm. No chance of a night cap.
Central location. Excellent buffet breakfast. Bathroom very well equipped and installed Not really, but at EUR 125 it was a little above the price level we would normally pay for this class of hotel. But it was high season and we wanted to stay near the centre of town.
Peacefulness, and politeness from staff
Room was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful, and location was right in the city center.
Location and cleanliness Lack of space - ground floor full of dining tables.
The staff were helpful & friendly. The room was very good. The breakfast was very satisfactory With a room in the front, it was rather noisy from the traffic
Comfortable clean bedroom. Very friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast Very small bathroom. Beautful town but no view from the hotel room.
The room was very small but it was still very nice, especially the bathroom and the bed were confortable. The breakfast was very good and the location excellent. The front room and breakfast room was fairly small because of the shape of the building.
The hotel is in good location, close to St.Michael's Kirche . Though the elevator was very compact, the room was very clean and the bathroom was very modern.
Very friendly staff and great location.
Small but very beautiful bathroom, Friendly staff, Good breakfast, fresh fruit
Nice hotel with very convenient location for those who travel by car. There are two options for car parking, including one free of charge. Spacious 'garden view' rooms with the balcony. The English speaking hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Free of charge computer with Internet access on the ground floor. Good restaurant and bar facilities. Everything was good for us.
very quiet place at countryside on our way from Prague to Paris and also a very safe indoor car-park useful when your vehicle is full-up going to holidays
Very good hotel, excellent service, good access,...
A very pleasant place to relax after a long car journey No
The fact that there was an excellant Bar & Resturant in the Hotel, Food & Drink where reasonable priced. As with Irish Hotels - 3 Star to 5 Star, there is always Coffee & Tea making facilities within the room. This is something that European hotels typicaly don't offer which is a shame.
Very spacious room, great breakfast buffet. There is a charge for a car park on site, this should not be the case for any 4 star hotel which charges EUR 130 per night per room. Also, the beverages in the room were stupidly overpriced. Needs new approach to traveling families.
Very helpful staff. Comfortable room with balcony. Everythig clean and cosy. Good breakfast. Hotel, bowling were closed on 24.dec.
Nice staff, quiet location, excellent bedroom, very clean, quiet balcony, handy for the town . Really enjoyed it. I had not realised how little German I could remember. So although I could tell I was chosing a bit of pig to eat I was not quite sure which bit. Perhaps there was a translated menue in English or French, but I did not see it. It would have been handy, though not so exciting!
Friendly staff, the atmosphere is very relaxed with guests saying Guten Morgen in the breakfast room. The hotel is between Schwäbisch Hall and a rural area. I liked both very much.
We were very pleased with the close proximity to Swabisch Hall for the price. We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel lounge was great and had a lively crowd and we had fun just staying in the hotel that night. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to meet our needs.
The food was great, the staff were very helpful, and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Good views of the countryside a bonus.
The room was very clean and comfortable, lots of hanging space. The bathroom was small and not well lit but adequate. The staff spoke some english and were very friendly and welcoming. On the map the hotel looked convenient for strolling into Schwabisch Hall but in reality the very big hill between the two made the journey less of a country walk and more like a mountain hike! The route was also not lit at night so after dark you need to get a taxi from town.
An excellent hotel. The staff were very polite and helpful. We stayed in the new wing of the hotel. The room was clean, well equipped and quiet. The breakast was excellent and the evening meal too. Both excellent value for money. The hotel is only a ten minute bus ride or twenty minute walk from the charming town of Schwabisch Hall. we will stay there again.
