The way I was treated by the front desk clerk made me feel so welcome. I am disabled and she understood my needs and was very helpful. Every time I saw any of your staff they always greeted me cheerfully and said "Hi" or "Good morning etc." The room was always clean and inviting. I had nothing to complain about.
Clean, bed comfortable Needed extra blankets, stronger coffee and directions how to get there.
Family and pet friendly- close resturants and clean. We made reservations and called ahead twice to ensure we would have a ground floor room because we were bringing our dog. Both times the staff said yes you have a first floor room. When we arrived they said the first floor was full and we were on the third floor. Don't feel they were trustworthy .
The 24 hour spa, fitness and pool use. The location and view. The friendly staff with helpful suggestions of the local restaurants. Nothing
Great breakfast. Fast internet. Nice pool for kids. Great location The room had an odor.
Loved the location. Room size was good and beds comfortable. Kids loved the pool. Front desk lady was awesome! You hear everything. People walking above you, showers running. Breakfast was lack luster.
The carpet in our room was in dire need of replacement. Also our room was too warm and next to the 24 hour pool. Alot of pool noise, late into the evening. We won't make that mistake again.
Location was fine for Columbia River and Pacific coast activities Rooms were not ready by check in time, we had to leave and come back later, Carpets were stained/bleached out, The controls on the AC had been removed, So we had uncomfortable/muggy night. The breakfast was adequate, but mostly included prepackaged food, or frozen food that could be microwaved. Parking was an issue in the limited parking area combined with several vehicles taking up more than one space. Staff was not helpful, when we asked about the removed AC controls we were told we don't need them because they have central AC. I won't be going back.
Best most comfortable bed in the mini sweet!
The location is great, easy to get to and easy to get to many places nearby. The hallways smell like melting crayons, the decor is out-dated, the beds are like sleeping on concrete and the pillows are really lumpy. I would not pay more than 85 a night for this place, it is just too outdated and the rooms need some serious updating.
Lication is great right by the boardwalk and access to the town Traffic is a nightmare to get to the hotel. It is pretty rundown. Gordon ramsey would have fun .
Hated beds and room. Can hear and feel every door slam
The location was nice. Easy and quick access to all the local shops. Thin walls, very small rooms, expensive in comparison to the overall experience, low quality and outdated facilities i.e. pool/ hot tub, workout room, etc.... Let's just say if the decor and upkeep to the lobby matched their rooms, most of this wouldn't be an issue. I would NOT suggest this hotel to anyone, nor will I be staying her again. Eb Tide next door is much better for the money, and comes with great amenities and staff.
I like the location of the hotel. The beach is right in front of the hotel. It closes to everything. I paid for a queen size bed and paid extra for partial view. First, the room was so so tiny. Our room was right above the roof of the hotel, so we got half view of the ocean and the other view was the roof. The bed lean on to one side. The fan was making noise. Yet, hotels have no AC by the ocean.
Nice location. Overall nice. Staff very pleasant and professional Surprised there wasn't a/c
The bed was really comfortable, as were the two chairs. The room was clean, and was cleaned while we were there. We did make a request for more pillows and coffee packets, which were delivered immediately, followed by a timely call from the desk to see if they had been received yet. Both lamps were broken; one was replaced and the other wasn't. The room was so small we had to put the suitcase by the bathroom door, and the tiny refrigerator was barely off of the floor, making it almost impossible for us (seniors) to use.
Great value, location and ammenities! It was a home run for us. I would stay there again.
Location was perfect. Good for a one night stay. Room had no A/C so it was very uncomfortable trying to sleep. Bed was lumpy and pillows were flat. Thin walls and heavy doors.
location is great for my activities very dated facility-also room had no AC (on a very hot day)
Great place to stay!
Hotel is rundown dirty fireplace fridge did not work no screen door on the patio door was not happy with this hotel at all
Great location everything was in walking distance. They upgraded my room without any problems. Loved being right on the beach. We had a great stay.
My wife complained about the dirty room . The stuff wasn't great also Breakfast
My family really liked that the Hi-Tide was at the end of the row of hotels lining The Prom. We had easy beach access, and it was much less crowded at our end than it was closer to the center of town. The pool and spa were nice and warm. The room wasn't fancy, but it was clean and looked out on the beach. Although there are "no pets" signs all over the building, the staff was welcoming to our dog, and we saw several other families with dogs as well. The things we didn't like were minor - an informational binder that was out-of-date (TV channels that weren't listed correctly, no instructions for using the DVD or accessing Wi-Fi, at least one restaurant listed no longer exists), a toilet that didn't flush very well, very squishy pillows.
Close to beach. Great price. Could use an update.
We had a 3rd floor room. The view was wonderful. The beds and linens very comfortable. There was a mini kitchen and free breakfast. Our room was very clean. The pool area nice and they supplied pool towels. Staff was helpful and friendly. The bathroom, closet area was a bit small for us. We could have used more counter space overall.
The staff were very friendly, they had cookies from 7-10 pm and the rooms were clean. I will be staying here again in future travels. The walk from the hotel to the beach and downtown was very convenient. Will recommend this place to anyone. As it stated on the checklist, my room did not come with a/c however they did provide a fan. That's the only con for this hotel :)
It was such a nice family place: indoor pool/hot tub, small kitchenette in room, cookies when we arrived, ocean view, close to downtown Seaside and AWESOME staff. We loved the stay and place to always book our future beach vacation stays there. They get an A+ overall for everything. I could totally see me staying there for a week and it being comfortable with a home away from home feeling. Also had an elevator to the 3rd floor so if you had a lot of bags you didn't have to walk them upstairs. Didn't know about small kitchenette so didn't bring food with us, Also bathroom decor was out dated but didn't change our opinion.
It's an older hotel, so don't expect top of the line ammenities, but it was very comfortable, had a mini kitchen with dishes, toaster, etc... Great view of the ocean and affordable. The staff was great! Will definitely return!
Inexpensive. Clean. Great ocean access. Old fixtures, but the price break is worth it.
Room was clean bed comfortable are room had partial view loved walking board walk staff friendly and helpful Had to leave
Right on the water and walking distance to everywhere. The staff seemed nice and the pool and hot tub was nice. The place is really old in the rooms. It needs to be updated from like 20 yrs ago. For example, most tvs are now small flat screens. The hotel still uses the old tube tvs. The room just feels dirty because everything is so old. When we came into the room the trash from the previous guests was still there. Honestly, we got a cheap deal on it, but I probably would never stay here again.
Would like to keep this place a secret, low key atmosphere, very friendly staff, great view, good location
Came across this place looking for an affordable very last minute. The room was about 62$, the cheapest we could find in seaside. We stayed in room 121 in the building across the street. I honestly wasn't expecting for the price, but when we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised! Very cute cozy room, big comfy bed and a little kitchenette. Me and my girlfriend loved it and are definitely going back everytime we are in seaside! The only thing bad about the room really was a shower head. Just a crappy old one that should be replaced.
The full kitchen, bedroom, living room, fireplace, jetted tub, washer and drier, the location one block from the main drag. It's an awesome place to stay and I always recommend it to anyone I know heading to Seaside! I found it a little strange that all the TVs in the building are queued up to play Fox News, but it's not like you can't change the channel.
Rooms were very nice and clean and very current. Room looks great!
Everything I would want. Walking distance to beach, gas fireplace, DVD player, jeted tub, full kitchen, balcony.
everything was nice the breakfast could be a little better also the water got shut off for 30 min there should've been some of compensation for the inconvenience
Upon arrival, we were greeted kindly by the front desk staff. Our room was on the 3rd floor facing East. We stayed in a Queen bedroom junior suite. The room had a full kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer (which was large enough for us to fully stock during our weekend stay) and all the pots/pans, dishes and utensils you'd find in your own kitchen. We were impressed. The kitchen comes with soap for dish washing, as well as detergent for the dishwasher. The room was very clean, and well stocked with extra blankets and pillows. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom has a closeted washer/dryer combo with laundry detergent (so useful when needing to get sand out of your clothes!). The bathroom was well stocked with hotel sized shampoo/conditioner/body wash, a hair dryer, tissues and a big one that some hotels forget about: extra toilet paper! The toilet and tub were spotlessly clean. The jetted bathtub was extremely relaxing, with 3 speeds to choose from as well as a self cleaning mode. We did not use the pool, nor did we take advantage of the free continental breakfast. The hotels proximity to city center and shops was awesome, as well as the free parking. Staff was friendly and inviting every time we walked past. We will definitely recommend to others and stay again!
Our sweet was incredible- insanely comfortable beds, a full kitchen with marble counters, a balcony, two televisions and access to the hotels respectable DVD library The continental breakfast was wildly unimpressive
Excellent room layout A bit noisy on the street end of the hotel
I stayed four days in a studio with a small kitchen and also had a washer and dryer...worked well for my 7 year old and me. It's so nice not to have to eat out for every meal and also have the convenience of being able to wash everything and not have to pack or mix dirty with clean clothes. Breakfast was ok...cereal, yogurt, bread & bagels, fruit, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, biscuits & gravy, something for everyone. The staff definitely made the stay very pleasant and probably boosted this stay from three to four star. Found dried salsa on the carpet, cookie chunks under the coffee table. The place was pretty good, but needed a much deeper clean than just wiping things down.
Really appreciate the comforts included in the room. A number of plugs didn't work. The rooms were not as well maintained as they could be. Clock didn't work and so on... Wifi costs $10. 2002 much?
Great central location. Breakfast was very basic.
Clean, beautiful hotel. Has free washer/dryer in the room. No free wi-fi in the room. Every other hotel has free wi-fi, why can't this one?
The room was very clean. However, there was black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and the carpet had not been vacuumed. Although, the housekeeping staff thought it was a great idea to vacuum the hallway right outside our room at 9 pm and then again at 7:30 am the next morning. The room itself was comfortable, but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were way overstuffed and too firm. Our room overlooked the parking lot and the road below. It was very noisy, but would have been worse if we had not been on the 4th floor. We did not get a good night's sleep and woke up stiff and sore. Now the good, the breakfast was pretty decent. The location was within walking distance of the beach and downtown. The staff were mostly helpful and friendly. The jetted tub was very nice, although the tub was not super clean, so I had to scrub it out before I filled it. I probably would find a less expensive place to stay next time, but would be perfect for someone staying more than one night as the room had all the amenities that you would need for an extended stay, including a washer and dryer! It was more than we needed so we could have stayed in a cheaper hotel and had our needs met.
The room was very clean. Didn't have far to get to the beach. If you like a very firm bed this is the place for you. When booking our room, we believed we would have an ocean view. Not so. When we were checking in we were told that going through the internet as we did we would not get an ocean view. Very disappointed. Will go back to the old fashioned way of booking a room - via telephone. That way we really will know what we can expect.
This hotel is in a great location and a friendly staff. The breakfast and cookies in the afternoon is a very nice touch. It was a very hot weekend and the air conditioning in room 207 did not work. The condenser fan on the outside of the unit was not working. The staircase between floors needs to be replaced as it was very soiled. The hotel was going under some construction so this issue might be on the list to replace.
The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. All of the staff members that we encountered while there were very nice and friendly from front desk to (I'm assuming) maintenance guy, and welcoming to my large dog which is surprisingly hard to find it seems. There was nothing I didn't like and I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting seaside.
Staff was exceptional. Price was pretty high, but it was the volleyball weekend so every hotel was marked up.
The best part was the location. There is a nice view of the river. Also a small balcony. The room was small. The furnishings were not great. The bathroom light and fan was noisy and rumbly. There was no fitness center.. It was a very busy week in town and the prices were way too high for the quality of the room. Very unimpressed. The service was OK but not special.
Had a great stay. Romm was clean. Staff was great, breakfast was good. Will stay again!
Cleanliness and price was well worth it. Staff was basic.
Location, clean, quiet Size of pool
Room was nice. Was noisy and the bed was too soft.
Location of hotel The queen room had an outdoor hallway with a light outside the window. We couldn't open the curtains or open the window for fresh air.
The view! Smell and hair
Everything! Accommodations, comfort, room was a mite stuffy at nite, couldn't open the windows very much. Comped us videos for our entire stay free for my Birthday! Gave us microwave popcorn, and candy for our movies. Needed plates and silverware for cake, we were told to go to Salvatores, and ask to borrow them! Even had cards and board games for us! Staff was excellent!! Anything we wanted was given with a smile!
It was nice and comfortable. Sure a few things were a little outdated but it was clean and close to everything and we had stunning views of the ocean! I am so picky and I was pleasantly suprised Nothing really..just need a few updayes
Great location, ok food go to twisted fish. Breakfast was good.... Tiny room, horrible young lady, rude no patience at all, was a weirdo. Charged me for a service animal that I showed upon arrival, and someone else's bar tab, rooms have A n B like 404A etc. She was terrible on the phone and at the desk for two nights, not good
I liked how every time our neighbors left or came in, the door would slam and all night long we could hear them coming and going. I loved how the staff was non accommodating when we asked to put the points on our Best Western card, that was special. Also a fan of having to pay for breakfast after not sleeping all night in an uncomfortable bed.
beautiful view. Everything was great.
Beach Front I prepaid for the hotel and the staff charge me again via my credit card. After explaining the problem to staff several times they said they needed to charge my card. I call the site where the booking occurred and they said there was no situation where this should happen. The Desk manager needs training and staff need not manufacture and answer that they think will resolve the problem. Be aware that this a frequent occurrence at this Hotel
It was a last minute booking. Good value for one night stay. Hotel room is small, but cozy. No coffee made, restaurant was closed and small rooms
I was very tired and at around 9pm a loud drilling noise came from right next door. Even the front desk customer service attendant was shocked the noise was that loud. I just wanted to rest and I was called by front desk twice for reasons that were not relevant.
Right on the boardwalk with great ocean view. Room had a balcony and kitchenette, but my favorite feature was a king size bed, plus a Murphy bed for the kiddos!
Location was unbeatable as it is right on the boat docks. Not great for ambiance or creature comforts but as a fisherman, that isn't what is important. Location was great as I had a 2-minute walk to my charter's slip. Pretty pricey but at the height of the Buoy 10 fishery, it's a matter of supply & demand for a good location.
Comfortable lodging overlooking Marina with great views of bridge and use of bicycles.
The view of the room was awesome! The amount of things to do. Goonies! Beaches! The ac in the room didn't work. And the balcony light was burnt out.
The comfort level, room quality, scenery, and service were tops. The facility shows some age but doesn't hurt overall quality. We'lloyd go back. Nothing special to report.
The TV in our room and was reported to staff on numerous occasions. The woman would tell us she needed to call her supervisor and be back with us in 20 minutes. 30-40 minutes later it was me calling her back giving me an oh I'm working on it attitude. Our second room had a non-functioning sliding glass door to the balcony which extremely disappointed our sons who could not enjoy the beautiful views the balcony offered. This was reported to staff on numerous occasions who said they would fix it, but it didn't get done prior to our departure.
What a great view! Our room looked out to the marina, and beyond it rose the Astoria Megler Bridge. Lots of fun to look out. I appreciated the free use of a bike to go out on the River Walk. Delighful. Very reasonably priced and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but solid. Good value. I had a lovely stay.
The location is great - right on the Columbia River, overlooking a boat dock We stayed here years ago when it was a Red Lion. It used to be really nice, but has not been maintained well at all. The rooms look shabby, The towels and bedding were very cheap. There was a chemical smell in the room that we couldn't get out. The hotel needs extensive renovation.
I really liked the history of the property. I liked the coziness and the ocean view. The staff was friendly and helpful.Fresh fruit, cookies and taffy in the room were a nice perk.Common area was very well kept and inviting. It was a very cold weekend and the room was a little chilly as there is only a small wall heater, I get that it is a historical building, it was not a deal breaker and we just cuddled a little more ;) Could hear neighboring rooms nighttime activities.
Very clean and comfortable. Good location. Would stay again.
Beautiful room, kind staff, perfect light breakfast each morning. Nothing! Great stay!
The view from my room was very nice. Would have been better if it wasn't stormy the whole time. The staff was all very nice The comfort of the beds. Didn't sleep very well.
The rooms had nice finishes and were tastefully done. I loved the layout of the lobby and breakfast area, very spacious. I felt like we got what we paid for. Had a wonderful view, great location. Convenient to amenities at Pier 39. Staff was very attentive and thorough.
Very clean. Comfortable bed. Room was not ready when requested. Cleaning staff entered room just after 9 am. I didn't have a do not disturb sign up, but check out isn't until 11. So this caught me by surprise.
Wonderful location, updated decor, amenities. Good complete breakfast and great value for the price. Could hear people outside walking by and doors closing. Also, our door was right outside the first floor main elevator so increased foot traffic went by. Thin walls- if not for that, it would've been a five star rating.
Toilet kept plugging up even after we reported the problem and it was allegedly fixed
We stayed in a room with a view of the river. We could hear the seals barking throughout the night. We loved it! The staff were friendly and very helpful. They accommodated us when we arrived early.
The 24 hour pool and hottub Breakfast Cleanliness
Friendly staff. Gave great food recommendations. They gave us a water aide room. And there are sea lions.....
The location was close to the water and by the River Walk Trail. Felt a little shabby, view out of the tiny window was of HVAC units.
Central location in Astoria. Within walking distance to many restaurants and the river. Nice view from the roof. Roof has viewing area with fire pit.
We love the location of the hotel and the staff is always great. We also love the rooftop deck, great views and perfect for snacks and a glass of wine.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was comfortable, quiet and the bed was very comfy.
Nice view and clean room, good parking. Easy proximity to shopping and food. Room was well stocked with dishes and appliances. They advertised free wifi but it was only one bar or no service and for the most part, didn't work.
Partial ocean view was nice, kitchen had a nice selection of pots and pans. The rudest people in Oregon work the front desk.
The beds were uncomfortable!!! The rooms were over priced!!! Wouldn't stay there again
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, I'm diabetic also but am responsible enough to not eat all that sugar or complain about it.
We like the jacuzzi rooms and shaved stayed twice. Quiet hotel, friendly people. The driveway is hard to find but once you know where it is it's fine.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on in a hotel. We are 57 years old. The lobby is beautiful with a gas fireplace and comfy seating. Breakfast was excellent! Room décor Maybe the hotel would consider a different pool additive as chlorine is not friendly.
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the pool was great. Within walking distance of the beach and downtown seaside, which was great. The breakfast options were sufficient and the staff was very helpful and kind. The facilities could use an update. Not the best hotel I've ever been to, but for a few nights on the coast it was definitely worth the price.
Staff was nice, and it was too far to the ocean. The bed was as old as the building! You could here the people talking next door to us, thin walls?? and the breakfast was really mediocre.
Actually seemed very clean and staff was friendly. Last option for the weekend but still better than some. Little far from the beach and can not open the window. Had to drive to the beach every time, be about a 15 min walk to beach. I do like that they cleared near the river, hope they do something with that like picnic area or something. Actually very nice right by he river. Need to highlight that
Staff(guy) is his name. 24hr pool. Quick response on request.
The location is horrible, spiders in our room, bed hard as a rock, pool dirty and spa out of order. Not a $100 a night place!!
The boiler went out and there was no hot water for a shower, nor was I offered a discount for my stay.
We liked the price and that the carpets were just cleaned, but still wet. First they tried to give us a room with a full bed and a love seat pull out when I ordered and paid for a double queen bed. When I went to ask them about it, they said it was what I ordered. After I showed them my information(which thank God I brought copies of), they did give me what I ordered. Should not have had to fight for what I ordered. The hot tub was VERY discolored, kind of scary to go into. But the kicker was, the power went out in our room in the morning, when I went down to the desk to find out what happened, the young man at the desk took the information and said he would ask his manager about it "when he woke up"! We packed up our things, without being able to get ready for the day or have a relaxing morning, and left. I would not go back!
The room was clean and comfortable, the continental breakfast was nice. Good room as a home-base to return to after exploring the area. The view of the auto parts store from our room, the closet outside our room with a propped open door and a loud generator running...
Love the fact that the room had a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The hotel is also very conveniently located. Your breakfast choices were better at your Tillamook location than Seaside.
It was convenient to the main area of town, close to the beach, and the only option for less than $100. We were very glad to have found it. The room was very clean, and well appointed. The bed was just too hard!! It's so hard to find a comfortable bed in hotels... sigh
The staff were extremely helpful and nice. We actually walked in, wanting to upgrade to Shilo Inn Oceanfront and the staff did everything they could, with no hesitation, to try to make this happen. Unfortunately, because we booked through Kayak, this was not possible unless we pay an extra fee. We decided to stay at Shilo Inn-East and the front desk lady upgraded our room to a King room instead of a Queen room, due to the inconvenience that we were not able to upgrade. The room itself was very clean, the building itself was old, but it was not dirty. The pool and hot tub is open 24 hours and we were able to use the Shilo Inn East pool AND the Shilo Inn Oceanfront pool (which was a bigger and deeper). The pool was heated, warm, clean, and the same with the hot tub. At night, the place was very quiet and no issue with parking. The location is convenient, it is VERY close to downtown and the beach (1 minute drive). Check out time is also a late checkout, noon, and they allowed us to check in early as well! The bathroom definitely needed an update.
Staff were very friendly and professional. Hotel is centrally located and close to everything and yet just far enough away from the main street noises. Bed had little to be desired. Very uncomfortable mattress. We woke up each morning very sore. Walls are very thin and you can hear noise from other rooms.
Great location Great staff Good food after a key mix up we were given a comparable room with a bit nicer view. close to lots of restaurants, beach, and other attractions. Uncomfortable mattress/bed small room no privacy curtain in room over looking beach coffee maker in room did not work
No Internet access as promised.
Room was very clean, and although the building is older, they have done a great job keeping uptodate. Location is perfect, right in the middle of everything!
When we booked and saw pictures of the exterior, we expected an older, worn, outdated room. We didn't care because we choose to spend less money on low-budget rooms when we won't spend a lot of time in them. When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised! We were in one of the bungalow-style rooms, and they had obviously been repainted not too long ago and had beds and bedding to rival any major competitor. I haven't slept on a bed that comfortable in a long time. The whole room felt pretty cozy and was immaculately clean when we arrived. We had a flat-screen TV, a fridge/microwave combo, and toiletries. The establishment left lots of info in the room that was useful to have for out-of-towners. They even left us a little welcome gift of some local saltwater taffy! Having a little porch to put our sandy shoes and dry out our beach items was fabulous. We would definitely stay here again. Our only issue at all was with the capacity of the pool, which was really popular and often overcrowded. That is not the fault of the hotel, though; the fact that they had one at that price point was amazing.
I loved how small and personal it was. There isn't a lot of rooms but it was very well taken care of and managed. It was very romantic if needed to be but perfect for a single person too. The staff was friendly as well. The heater didn't work for us but it really wasn't an issue.
Great location. Room was loud due to car traffic. No breakfast.
It was perfect lil stay
