Everyone staff person I came in contact with was helpful and professional, especially the gentleman who greeted us out front. He was extremely pleasant and helpful, pointing us to where self-park was (to help us save $50 from valet parking) and making us feel really appreciated as guests. When it came time for departure he was just as helpful.
It was my first time staying at a Hilton hotel and I had a great experience! The Capital Hilton is a wonderful spot because it's in the middle of downtown DC. The White House is not far from the hotel. I appreciate that there was lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and metro stations nearby too. I felt very comfortable staying here and the room was cleaned daily. The only issue was that the WiFi was slow. I would recommend this place!
The exercise equipment using pulleys was broken. No refrigerator as advertised in the online description. PA system had glitches. Most everything else was fine. Convenient to stores and transportation. HVAC worked well. Heard about bed bugs in other rooms, but did not experience them in mine.
The service was terrible and the staff was argumentative. Worst business experience we have ever had. We checked out early and got another hotel incurring 2x the cost for the trip. Low price is not worth the poor treatment of guests. No return call from the manager. No return call from Hilton corporate.
When we first checked in the room smelled like smoke. The front office guy was super nice and immediately accommodated us and put us in a different and larger room. This is great customer service
Pros. It's a great location behind the white house but I wish they'd offered a free breakfast
Cons. at least letting us know they're going to be replacing AC units on the roof and not having to look at a giant crane truck the next morning
Pros. you can find a better price at hilton homepage. I got a free wifi at lower price. building is quite old( built in 1943 and is a national heritage) but managed excelently. I arrived at noon and a staff gave a room just cleaned-up for an early check-in. official check-in time is 4pm. staffs are super-friendly. location is just behind the whitehouse and at the K street known as a DC's splendid street. we could find every kinds of restaurants within 10-min walk. I want to use this hotel again if I could visit DC with my family again.
Cons. When I opened room door, I found directly two beds. if there were a person at the corridor, he could have seen anything going on in the room.
Pros. It was in a great location and has a very opulent feel when you enter.
Cons. The gym is not included in your stay unless you are a certain level Hilton Rewards member. The beds were not as comfy as I expected for a Hilton.
