Cons: My husband thought the room was very noisy, although I had no trouble. We later found out that it has a disabled room as my husband is unsteady on his feet, so next time we come we will book one.

Pros: Friendly host. The room was very nice, nothing exceptional, but clean and comfortable to stay over night for someone who's planning a trip to Arran.
Cons: Breakfast. It's hard to criticize someone's cooking, I'm sure the lovely woman does the best she can, but if you're not British I suggest to make a breakfast for yourself or go somewhere to town.

Pros: We upgraded to an en-suite room which had a very comfortable king sized bed as well as a single which we did not use. The bathroom had everything required. The location so near the seafront surprised us and we enjoyed the pleasant company of hosts Margaret and John.

Pros: The Hotel is located in the perfect place with a beautiful sea view. We were made to feel extremely comfortable and welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Margaret. Very clean room with a great shower. I would definitely stay here again.

Pros: We chose this guest house for it's location near to the ferry as we were doing the 5 ferries challenge but it gave so much more. Moira is super friendly and makes you feel welcome. The room we stayed in was spacious, the beds comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and even on the day we had to start early there was something available. Also good WiFi and car parking. Hope to be able to go back.

Pros: Margaret went above and beyond to help in every way she could. Facilities in room for tea/coffee/bottled water, free wifi, hair dryer and really anything on request. Large room with side room and on-suite was perfect for our stay, spotless and very homely. She also helps with fundraising and with the local kids. Nothing is to much trouble, very rare to find such kindness. I highly recommend and will be back.

Pros: Good location for catching the Arran ferry. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the bedroom was extremely large and comfortable. Both the bedroom and bathroom were clean and well-kept. It had a good WiFi connection, lovely garden area to sit out in and an excellent breakfast. Would have no hesitation in stopping here again.

Cons: Very close to a busy road and able to hear all cars passing by. Room was very hot so had to keep windows open. Breakfast which was included was very poor.

Pros: The location is amazing - right on the beach with stunning views across to the Isle of Arran. the Chef special Cajun Salmon was delicious. I was accidently overcharged (I hadn't realised) but had a call from reception to inform me and to say that the difference had been refunded. Excellent customer care. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Very cheerful, helpful staff. Great location. The food was excellent. Our room was beautiful, clean and very spacious. It was not too far a travel from home either. The outdoor areas were excellent too.

Pros: This place is not the norm. You are staring in a working Victorian Cathedral. Don’t expect mod cons. Also this is a quiet peaceful place, no TV. So don’t come to party, people are here for the peace and quiet. Grounds are fantastic, beautiful surroundings. Super clean rooms. Rooms feel like being at Hogwarts. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Eating in the Refractory is part of the experience. Staff were just amazing. Friendly service. Close to town few minutes walking.

Pros: Food was good, location was great for getting about. Staff were polite and friendly. Towels were replaced when required.
Cons: Lack of electrics. One room had no lights in the bathroom all the time we were there. Another room had one light down and the fan stopped working in the bathroom. Cups weren't replaced nor was the tea and milk. Shower gel and soap were extremely low.

The food in the Carvery : meat ok but vegetables looked like they were from the previous night. Over all, room ok but the rest not up to standard. and will probably not us you again

Cons: To me the pub was to much an "eating house", not really a pub at all. As my wife is disabled, the distance from the motel block to the pub for breakfast was excessive. We had to drive over.

Or amount .staff saying they were running low on food and it was only 7pm .Other diners using fingers to pick veg out of containers

Pros: The food was good, bed itself was comfortable as was the room. Good parking facilities and convenient for sightseeing.
Cons: The pillows on the bed were far too flimsy, they need to be of a better quality. My partner and I both suffered with sore necks the following morning. If you can fix this then your pretty much onto full marks all round.

Pros: Very comfortable bed and views from our room were lovely.Had dinner there a couple of evenings and the food was very nice. Location of the hotel was excellent with a bus stop outside and train station only a couple of minutes walk. We would definately stay here again.

Cons: Only two bulbs out of 5 working in room. Very dull but when reported was fixed immediately. Had to ask for WiFi code, no info given on arrival. Had to ask for glasses for room but again was quickly rectified. Hotel was very busy to be fair. Toilet light very dull.

Pros: Fantastic location with stunning view! Very friendly staff, comfortable room and nice restaurant. Perfect place to get around and for example spend a day on the Isle of Arran. There was an issue with the boiler but the staff contacted me immediately and we could agree on how to proceed.
Cons: Everything was great! If I should mention anything, maybe that the room was a bit small but this was not an issue as I spent most of the time outside or at the restaurant from the hotel.

Pros: The staff were very friendly, the restaurant was very nice and the food was fantastic. Room was clean and comfortable but ours was dated when compared to the photographs. The breakfast was a self service buffet but very nice all the same.

Pros: Choice of 5 items promised - only 3 variants offered (except for the 1st morning, which was ok. Only consolation is that we left without paying, by mutual agreement. This place could be a little goldmine, if attention was paid to the little details.
Cons: Not very well organised staff. Had to ask for plates or bread at breakfast. Kept waiting when went for evening meal. Took drinks order at table, then didn't return for half an hour to take meal order.

Cons: This hotel needs a makeover. The decor is tired and dated. Carpet on stair and corridor was stained. Shower had seen better days. Breakfast was included in the price but was disappointing. Our stay cost £105 for one night which was poor value for money.
