We loved Quay West Guesthouse. It was relaxing, clean and comfortable in a perfect location. We don't do Irish breakfasts, but there was plenty of coffee and coffee making facilities in the living room all day. The owners were kind and helpful, if not overly friendly. The price was right and we were very happy with our stay.
Pros: The cleanliness and comfort. It was like staying at your grandma's house if she was very, very tidy! And the location between the Quay and downtown was perfect!
Cons: No outdoor space to sit.

Loved this beautiful oasis! They thought of everything, including a wash cloth (rarity in Ireland). Comfy bed, spacious room, good shower with plenty of hot water, easy parking, great breakfast, close to town, helpful advice, good restaurants nearby (they even made the reservations for us), and 'name' traditional music only a few blocks away (Matt Malloy of the Chieftains performed one night, Cherish the Ladies another night). We stayed 3 nights and could easily have stayed much longer. This is a great base for touring in the west of Ireland. The charming town of Westport is large enough to have everything you need (including great shopping for souvenirs, both inexpensive and high-end), but small enough that it is all within easy walking reach from Linden Hall. You could stay a week and have a different breakfast every day. This is one of our best finds from our 8 trips to Ireland.
Pros: Loved everything! Highlights include the fresh fruit at breakfast with nuts and dried fruit mixes. Breakfast menu included the option for local smoked salmon with eggs.
Cons: Need to add sticks to make it easier to close and open the curtains.

Pros: What a charming hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive. There is a variety of interesting artwork and one is encouraged to have a look around at the pieces located throughout. The pub and restaurant attached offer delicious fare at reasonable prices, and the bar man took me through a tour of local whiskies. This place is full of character - both the hotel and its staff!
The hotel couldn't be more centrally located, being right on the octagon with all activities within a short walk.
Cons: That I couldn't stay longer.

It is located a couple of miles outside Westport, so make sure you get good directions on getting there - we lucked out and one of the wait staff at the Towers restaurant in Westport Harbour used to work there and gave us step by step directions.
Pros: It was great to sleep in a king sized bed. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean, and the en suite bathrooms were spacious and modern, with huge tubs. Really nice hotel bar.
Pros: The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The view outside is very picturesque.
Cons: Our room smelled of smoke, even though the room was 'strictly' non-smoking. The loudest fire alarm that I've ever heard went off in the morning while we were sleeping for about 1 minute, with no later explanation from the hotel.
