I only stayed at the hotel for two nights, it was pleasant & clean. The staff had problems with english speaking guests but as it's in such a remote location this is no surprise. The booking system was a bit of a mess and one of our party ended up with no room and had to stay at another hotel - the staff arranged a taxi for him but a bit dissapointing none the less.
Great location directly on Starnberger See - a beautiful spot. Located in Leoni which is, thankfully, away from Starnberg itself - a little quieter if you really want to enjoy the location, but only a 7 min drive if you need to go there. Beautiful surrounds and walks - perfect for wandering, relaxing, bike riding etc.
Excellent location at Berg. Very good breakfast and restaurant although a bit overpriced. Free wi-fi. Very clean rooms and the hotel staff were very helpful. A bit noisy at nights if your room is facing the road and not the lake. At our first night there was a wedding reception at the hotel's restaurant and we were told that we could not use the bar! Shame especially during the Oktoberfest period. Very small elevator for a 4 star hotel and 70 rooms.
The biggest advantage of the hotel is the location itself. Quite, relaxing place, directly located at the lake with a stunning view to the Alps if the weather is nice. At the breakfast buffet there was not as much variety as you expect in a 4 star hotel.
Staff friendly and effective. Rooms big and new. Restaurant excellent. Highly recommended. Great value for money.
lakeside and good kitchen room 126 is a room over the staffentrance/delivery and very noisy, staff stands outside talkingboth late and early morning while smoking.not so nice! we had 2 rooms
The view 1-When I arrive to the hotel the give me a room without a lake viow and I asked them to give me a room with a lake viow same the Picture that I reserved in booking.com ,but the hotel told me I have to paid 20 euro extra for that...!! 2-The hotel staff never smiling ..!! 3- the breekfast was very bad.....4-hotel staff was unhelpful and they dont care for guests
Location is very good right on the lake, with lakeside dining, -- weather permitting. It thinks it is much better than it really is ! For this class of hotel ( 4* ) it needs air conditioning and a decent lift! Room was fine, but had nowhere to put suitcases if you did not want to fully unpack. However the biggest problem was the noise from smokers congregating at the front door and laughing and shouting until 3 am. Everything was overpriced for what it was.
Breakfast on the veranda was sublime. No air-conditioning, so got very warm at night (mid-July)
Location on the Starnberger See was superb with a ferry pier next to the hotel, making it ideal for a long walk and a ferry back. Even though our room did not have a view of the lake it was comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant menu was original and varied and the food of high quality. The terrace on the lakeside is great both for summer meals or drinks. Free parking was a bonus.
Very nice breakfast, good accomodation, friendly hotel staff, very nice spa facilities and right on to the lake. Very little provision for families with small children. not recommended for families, but more for couples of a certain age category.
Lovely setting on the lake & very convenient to Munich
Excellent Hotel, asked for lake side view and you could not have wished for a better view it was certainly what it said it was. It did not state lakeside view was in front hotel and balconies in a seperate building at the back. The only restaurant was in the front and if you had a balcony you had to walk down the hill to the front hotel.
Beautiful setting on a lake. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and comfortable room Beds were very hard
All Staff members spoke English. Good food, good location, friendly people.
Quite expensive hotel but we got what we paid for: a clean, comfortable room with a nicely designed bathroom and a balcony overlooking the Starnberger See. No airconditioning meant keeping the door to the balcony open and there were disturbances during the night from ongoing parties nearby.
Situated near the lake. Good atmosphere.
room was clean and large, breakfast was good and staff was friendly and location near München is excellent dinner could be better
Lovely evening walks adjacent to hotel ...... but unfortunately it rained all of the two nights I stayed! A supermarket is located beneath the hotel but does not cause any problems whilst being convenient. Not many local restaraunts and they close early.
The staff was excellent. Rooms were clean and had everything I needed. Breakfest was A-1. Close to Munich and at the same time close to the mountains. Beautiful Kloster at the bottome of the hill. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Very curteous and sociable staff. Excellent service. Very good breakfast. Free WiFi Noisy Trucks delivering goods to supermarket below Hotel in early morning.
Within walking distance of train to Munich. Grocery store (Tengelmann) below hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking and wi-fi access. Perfect place to stay while visiting Munich..you get the quietness of country side, with the convenience of transit to Munich nearby. Vielen Dank für einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt ! Hotel is above a grocery store, so deliveries can be early and noisy if room windows are open (I used earplugs so not an issue for me) . Small bathroom (which is to be expected in Europe).
welcoming invirement, friendly staff, great location: close both to munike and the country side, good restaurents and the river isar nearby. breakfast - the buffet was a little poor.
Nothing particulary . We've chosen the hotel because was near train station and, comfortable enough to reach Munich's Oktoberfest Fest . We've stayed to the hotel without having problem.
a new, well equipped facility with a good restaurant. Not too large. Handy location.
Eating my evening meal upon the veranda over looking the Forest and the Alps was the highlight
Good food, convenient for train station, attentive and helpful English speaking staff, checkout quick and efficient. Over all a pleasent stay. Lack of English guide to room facilities (TV, phone services, fire escape) ground floor front room was noisey both from traffic and drains.
A real beautiful hotel in the Bavarian country near the city of Munich and well connect by train. The hotel staff was really kindly..
The rooms are very generous in size with very nice bathrooms. This hotel has been designed with great attention to detail and to guests' comfort. The breakfast is the best continental breakfast I have ever eaten. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to friends, but our stay here turned into an altogether very enjoyable experience.
Great food, staff extremely friendly. I stayed at the appartment room and I found it very spacious and comfortable. For the price I paid I think it is worth every cent and definately a good alternative to hotels nearer to München.
I was attended of the ESC in Munchen Maybe some kind of noise aproximatly 60-80 db between 6-8 am.
Nice restaurant and late working lady. It was very hard to find the hotel, becouse there are at least 4 Egling cities around with the same streets, zip. Every morning there was incredible noise. It was road construction not far from the hotel, and hotel management did let to use the back yard and parking place for laborers. That was really annoying. We asked for the discount, but did not get that one. The smell in the city was very bad
Very friendly staff, English speaking.
Nice countryside design, comfortable. Away from main road and city center, therefore suitable for family vacation. Peace and comfort.
Not mutch Small rooms. No airco. Room to hot.Smell from the kitchen.
Nice and clean hotel in a quiet area. The room has an lcd tv, so I could connect my laptop on hdmi to watch some movies. The cabled free internet works good with a login that I got at checkin and there are network cables available to use. Friendly staff, and they speak English. I was able to checkout 3 hours later and checkin an hour early without any additional costs, great service! Dinner was good, the menu was in German, but the friendly waitress helped me out by translating it. I enjoyed a nice meal with a view of the fireplace. The hotel is pretty remote, about 30km away from Munich, but for some peace and quiet you should definately visit it!
Very clean in general. No issues.
It was very relaxing stay. We enjoyed observing the wedding reception and dance that was also held there while we were there.
The room was quite comfortable. The bathroom was large and modern and included outlets. The staff was very friendly and helpful for any requests we had. Internet access would be desirable.
Very nice location and a very nice restaurant. We liked the spa as well. Nice and friendly staff, even though they don't speak so much english. Nice atmosphere. The room could need a refurbishment, but clean and nice view over the lake.
The Hotel has a nice view to the lake and the location is good. We booked three rooms. We didn't like our room. No view to anything, just a roof in front of us. The second room was very small and the third one was nice.
Nice location at a lake. Clean spacy rooms. Good food in the restaurant It was a but far from the München center (minor problem)
The location is great , very relaxing ,,,
Very close to the S5 train. Gets you into city/tents (Oktoberfest!) within 30 minutes. Very convenient
Completely refubrished room and bathroom. Furnitures chenged to new. Clean enviroment. Good heating. Strong and fast Wi-Fi connection. Good parking and 1 min. by foot to the S-Bahn line to Munich. Homely variety breakfast, but it's ok.
Close to business location where I was working
Good location, Good Restaurant, and good service
Buffet breakfast was great Low rating on value for money because all hotel prices were inflated just during Oktoberfest - not just this one. Normally it may be good value
Small hotel with relatively big clean rooms and very friendly and helpfull staff (they understand English but not extremely well). The breakfast is good and contains bread, cake, cereal, some cheese and meat, jam, yoghurt, orange juice, coffee and different kinds of tea. The food for diner and lunch is also quite good and not at all expensive. There is a tram (Sbahn - S8) just behind the hotel. It takes aout 45min to the centre of Munich and 1h30 to the airport (direct line).
The Hotel offers free internet access through wi-fi upon registration (with maxpost.de). Bandwith is good and wi-fi signal is strong everywhere. Rooms are big and beds are confortable. The breakfast is not particularly rich, but in line with the budget cost of the hotel. Rooms are generally clean, carpets and furnuture are a bit aged.
using the wireless connection of hotel Seehof! no internet (hotspot), in the summer this room was above the terras (very noisy)
The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
free internet, good restaurant, excellent access to train towels , bathroom accessory
