Pros: Ancient old pub expanded over the generations and boasting a new apartment block for accommodation. Very busy on a Saturday night - caters for up to 70 in a series of dining rooms but room found for us quickly . Staff were caring and efficient , food was good especially the breakfasts included in the price.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed country pub.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was spacious , comfortable and immaculate. Nice pub and good food.
Cons: Our room was on the upper floor and on the wing adjacent the pub. We had to carry our cases up a not easy stairs (no lift/elevator).There was no A/C so we had windows open. At 6:00 AM on August Bank Holiday Monday, we were rudely awakened by the arrival and loading of their refuse collection vehicle. We were also unhappy to discover that the location, despite the Witney post code, was a long way outside the town, surrounded by corn fields - nowhere outside the property to enjoy a walk or explore the locality.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The service in general
Cons: Signal was very poor. Internet very poor

Pros: The rooms were generously big, the restaurant was packed but the service was good as were the meals themselves and the breakfast , included in the price, was too big to finish. Overall, it was a great experience out in the country

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attention to detail and welcoming. Fabulous room and delicious breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the hotel itself, shouldn’t put this in here, they could charge so much more for hat leave of luxury. Perfect for Blenheim and Woodstock which is a gem.
Cons: Nothing, though the staff want to pamper you (which is lovely) so make sure that’s what you want, it’s not a hotel for those rushing around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm reception from owner , excellent standard of room and breakfast. Everything just perfect.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent

The attention to detail is second to none and the gorgeous dining room at breakfast is an outstanding experience in itself; Francesco is an attentive host who goes the extra mile with absolutely everything. The location is perfect. Woodstock is a vibrant small town with plenty of places to eat and drink. Blenheim Palace is literally on the doorstep and there is an extensive, effective bus service to Oxford. Would very highly recommend!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms very clean, bed comfortable, access to a lounge, WiFi, owners very friendly.
Cons: Would’ve preferred to be asked about breakfast options on check in. Previous experiences in other B&B’s included cooked breakfast. Whilst what was on offer was good and eggs were offered after a while I’d have preferred options including bread/croissants which were just given.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the owners here are very friendly and helpful; they greeted us with refreshments, made dinner recommendations and reservations and were flexible about timings. All in all a very pleasant experience to stay here, thank you!
Cons: the only thing I would change would be to have a black out blind as the current one does very little to reduce the light coming in, and with an east facing room it is quite bright from early in the morning.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

In the morning we have a bicycle riding around the hotel and enjoy the beautiful scene. The staff is nice and helpful and help to fix the bicycle and introduce the route to us. 5.4 Okay
Pros: Rom was good , service correct, breakfast vert good
Cons: Rom no 1 is very noisy !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nothing was too much for the staff. Apart from being very efficient, they were extremely warm and welcoming. The bed was one of the best I have slept in.
Cons: Can’t get a decent cup of cha out of a cup....why not mugs? Towel rail didn’t work and gushed water when switched on. No chest of drawers and radio and TV remote needed new batteries (not checked before we arrived. No instructions as to how to work the aircon system.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, we loved the boutique feel. There were lots of small touches ,wooden tooth brushes were a first for us , the small glass jar with milk by the door in the morning for your coffee. The breakfast was amazing , worth every penny! Shower was a good size as well as the bedroom with king size bed and sitting area.
Cons: Can’t think of anything .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice modern decor in a typical old stone building , well equipped room with Apple TV, Bose Bluetooth speakers and big en-suite with a roll top bath and walk-in shower
Cons: Nothing to dislike
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a large attractive room, which we were able to book at a good price for the Crown. As we were not expecting to be spending the night away from home , the little touches like bamboo complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste were very useful. Our room faced the courtyard at the back. This meant that we heard less traffic noise early in the morning. A number of rooms in Woodstock can be noisy in the morning.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: really comfy bed
Cons: attic room - nice but a bit cramped with the sloping ceilings but the bed made up for it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Another fantastic stay at The Crown. Wonderful facilities and staff. Amazing attention to detail and real value for money.
Cons: If I had to pick something, I would wish for a nespresso machine in the room - but that's only if I'm being picky!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: 2nd visit, if i could , i would stay there forever. This time they even resolved the issue of noise from the street: clever solution!
Cons: Can’t think of anything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our room (number 1) was large with a super king bed, a sitting area and a large shower room with enormous shower. It was on the High St but the street was surprisingly quiet on a Sunday morning. The staff could not be faulted and were very keen to help. This included allowing us to check in early as we were going to a wedding and giving us contact details should we arrive back too late and we could not work the entry code! The small details like bamboo toothbrushes, decent toiletries and fresh milk delivered to the door at 8am made the stay perfect. The only downside was that, because we were In Woodstock for a wedding, we did not make full use of the facilities and had to leave straight after a delicious breakfast.
Cons: Cannot think of anything
7.9 Good
Pros: Room size and very large comfortable bed
Cons: Nothing

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Good To have tea, coffee and cakes and a fridge to use. Room was very clean.
Cons: The room was small and the bathroom a little outdated. It was 30degrees outside so we had to open the window as no fan/ac and unfortunately we were awoken by people shouting at 5am!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was fantastic. I slept super well in that bed in our room. Best bed ever. We loved the dog! :)

Pros: Nice guesthouse in lovely village.
Cons: Nothing all good
7.1 Good
Pros: We liked how central it was with easy parking. Lovely homemade cakes. ( if you leave a review)lovely touch. Lounge area. Breakfast was fabulous.
Cons: The staff where pleasant but dealt with you as fast as they could so they could get back to what they where doing. Toilet didn’t flush well. It looked clean but run your fingers crossed the top of the doors Offt not good. Even when you open the door to our room you can see the thick dust. I really don’t like giving bad reviews but if you had taken that 1 minute & asked. I would have told you rather than writing it on here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in attractive area near centre of Witney. Comfortable beds. Wide choice of breakfast food with hot food cooked to order
Cons: It was a hot night so a single sheet to cover would have been good as duvet was a bit warm

Pros: The breakfast was excellent and all staff were super friendly and helpful. The conservatory was a really cosy space where you could relax and chat over a complimentary hot chocolate, tea or coffee.
Cons: What brought the experience down was the beds, very hard and uncomfortable which made sleep less restful. We had a twin room, two single beds, so our experience can only be based on that.

Cons: Nothing apart from parking.
Marlborough Arms Hotel - Woodstock - Building

Overview Reviews
Located in Woodstock, Marlborough Arms Hotel is within a 15-minute drive of Blenheim Palace and University of Oxford. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt at home as soon as we arrived, we received a friendly welcome. The building is beautiful!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old coaching inn. Quiet room. Good location for Blenheim Palace.
Cons: Much more than I would normally pay for a hotel but my stay did coincide with the horse trials at Blenheim Palace so price was to be expected perhaps.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfy. The room was very clean and the breakfast was lovely
Cons: There was a Tea party on when we arrived which meant there was no room in the car park for us to park which had been one of the factors for booking as you had a secure car park. I think it may be an idea that the car park is kept for people staying overnight in the Hotel as day users could use the free public car park next door.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Period features and a shady court yard to have out ore dinner drinks.
Cons: I wasn’t made aware that my bathroom was not actually in my room. Not the end of my world but for some it might be... remembering to take keys/lock up room/ disturb surrounding rooms was a bit of a pain... and the bathroom was extremely compact...to use the sink required some interesting contortionist moves and a larger person than I would seriously struggle with the lack of space. I think all of this should have been brought to my attention before booking the room, given the choice I would have preferred an en-suite. The bedroom was fine- clean, well equipped ( except the lack of bathroom!) with plenty of room for the solo traveller and had excellent dark curtains which kept out the majority of light from the street light directly opposite my window.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and pleasant. The location was great and parking was easy.
Cons: The hosts were busy with paperwork and not very friendly. We were treated respectfully but not kindly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming property in the heart of Woodstock. Beautifully maintained, comfortable accommodation and incredibly welcoming hosts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This beautiful property was a pleasure to stay in. Our room was superb and met our every need. The bed was absolutely super comfy and a super king size as well, yet there was still plenty of room for a lovely little sofa too. The location couldn’t have been more perfect - right on the quaint little high street, with wonderful pubs and restaurants and Blenheim Palace literally a couple of minutes’ walk away. Fantastic cooked breakfast as well!
Cons: Can’t fault it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay.lovely hosts
4.2 Okay
Pros: The location was good, close to Blenheim palace and Oxford.
Cons: It was right on a busy street with a bus stop right under our windows, and all family rooms facing on the busy street. My son could not sleep during the night at all. It was terribly hot and they only had one small fan in a room which was not sufficient to cool anyone down. I had to cut our stay short and was expected at least one night refund, but got nothing. I had to let 2 nights go, because the conditions were unbearable, and I had to rent another hotel with AC. It could be different if the weather would be different, but the hotel was completely not ready and prepared to accommodate any change based of our miserable situation.
9.0 Excellent

Pros: Nice property - in the heart of Woodstock village - so it's a perfect location for tourists. The staff provide excellent customer service and the food both Evening Meal and Breakfast were of a high standard.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome, friendly staff and spacious room. All very clean and tidy. Great bar/restaurant downstairs and ideally located on the market square. 2 mins walk to Blenheim palace.
Cons: Nothing to dislike, tidy place. Paying for location as all hotels locally are around this price.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for visiting Blenheim Palace, it is just two minutes to the estate entrance. Very good full English breakfast, there are other choices if you prefer. Very comfortable overnight stay. It wasn't a problem for me but in my room you could hear the chatter from the bar.
Cons: The stairs up to the rooms are very steep, narrow and twisty. The staff were very helpful though and took my luggage up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The check-in was an absolute breeze and the check-in person was extremely nice and helpful.
Cons: We preordered breakfast the night before as we had an early start the next morning. The service was great however the breakfast didn't quite make the mark. Otherwise the stay would have been tops!

Pros: Everything
Cons: The room was clean and lovely. It is not a large room , as it's own on suite, but makes up with the hospitality. Can't do enough to make sure you was happy. First class English breakfast, 5 minute walk to blenheim place and saw lots of buses to Oxford. Small town but lovely and friendly. Totally recommend the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A lovely personal welcome, a great location, really friendly, competent and helpful staff and a fabulous breakfast.
Cons: Minor detail, but the bathroom in our ensuite needed a little attention to maintenance, not picked up by housekeeping. The owners have welcomed my well-intended message on this, and have said all will be fixed.

Pros: The bed was comfy breakfast was very nice
Cons: Shower was not attached to the wall properly but when pointed out was assured it would be looked at, but that was pointed out on check out
4.6 Okay
Pros: Clean, warm, nice breakfast, good location... but still rating it very low because in this place you are not guaranteed to have any sleep. And personnel is aware of that. Description and pictures below.
Cons: 3 of us stayed in room 6 which offers 2 single beds and sofa-bed. I was unlucky one who was supposed to somehow manage to sleep on this sofa-bad what was COMPLETELY impossible. This foldable sofa is so curvy! It has hill in the middle follower by gaps. Have you ever tried to sleep on sinusoid? When your lower back and head are on these higher parts but back and legs are somewhere above gaps? Why owners of this place find it possible to offer their guests to sleep on that??? Would they be okay to spend night on similar bed? Why so much disrespect to guests? When I mentioned it to porter in the morning, he said sorry. Seriously... you come to the hotel to sleep, you don’t get this sleep, you get lower back pain and hip pain instead - and they are sorry (and not going to change anything). What an approach! Another thing - very strong smell of cleaning chemicals.

Pros: Very quaint, comfortable and clean.

Pros: Made to feel welcome on arrival and it’s a beautiful place in a great location
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location. Gentleman in the bar ....Octvaious? ...was great.
Cons: The service was hit & miss. We were asked if we would like to see the pudding menu and said yes please, then never saw another member of staff in the restaurant. Also, we were very hot during the night. And on inspection, the bed has a plastic backed mattress cover. Not nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked the garden and restaurant. Breakfast was lovely and also all the staff were very helpful and competent.
Cons: Unfortunately, we had the worst room in the hotel, room 26. I say this in terms of the noise not the decor. However there was also no window, only a fire escape and just outside on the wall was an a very loud extractor fan that came on at 5am! It was like trying to sleep on an aircraft. You could not have the fire escape window/doors open. It was also had been a very hot day and then night. There was a new air conditioning unit in the room however we were unable to operate it aas there were no instructions! We did try! We complained about the lack of sleep before checking out but only our comments were noted. Nothing has been done since and we have not been contacted by The Feather's.

7.5 Good
Pros: The standard of cleanliness. Space for parking. Fridge and Tea tray facilities in the bedroom.
Cons: The time it took to get breakfast. The position of the room next to the kitchen. On the second night, regular high pitched beeps were coming from the kitchen. (Sounded like a low battery warning). It went on for hours. I prefer the formality and anonymity of a hotel.

Pros: Facilities were excellent, room was spotless and breakfast was delicious. Hosts were very friendly, I will definitly go back the next time I'm in Witley. Also there is an excellent pub across the road that serves great food at very reasonable prices.
Cons: Wifi signal is weak in room 1.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All one level no stairs and great parking facilities
Cons: Shower door a bit tight to get through in the room we were staying in
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant owners in a comfortable house just opposite a good pub for meals. Parking on site. Bedroom as clean and comfortable with a small en suite which had a very good shower with plenty of hot water. I would have liked a bedside light on each side of the bed. One side was rather restricted for space. However, it served the purpose well. Breakfast was excellent.- juices, cereals, yogurts, followed by full English which was well cooked and good quality. It would have been helpful to have the option of 1 or 2 sausages /rashers as I could manage only half of what was served.
