Pros: The hosts are very nice and very helpful. You can have dinner at the BandB which is convenient and the food is tasty. They help you book tours in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is set a short walk from the central square in Yanque. The gardens are lovely - it's like a little oasis. Elar and his family are mega helpful and friendly...above and beyond service, helping to arrange taxis to thermal springs, canyon de condor, horse riding and bus tickets to Arequipa. Superbly kind!!! We didn't spend much time exploring Yanque - we stayed 2 nights...travelling with my 5yo twins. The food was an absolute highlight and we didn't venture further. Breakfast was great - a plentiful plate of fruits, eggs, bread with jam and butter... tea was available always. Evening meals were reasonably priced and amazingly delicious. Like michelin star quality! The rooms were spacious, clean and plentiful HOT water...comfy bed, crisp linens, a heater to keep more than snug. Highly recommend this hotel. My children loved the dog...the wifi was also good! Thank you Elar for an awesome stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet neighborhood next to a couple of small convenient stores and the square and church in Yanque. Elar couldn’t be a better host! He was very attentive to my every need and provided everything I asked for. he arranged transportation to and from activities, horses by the door, late breakfasts, you name it. Breakfast was always excellent and fullfilling, and he always asked if you wanted something else or more of the same. Elar seemed to be always a step ahead. i would come back over and over again. great for relaxation and excellent value for money
Cons: Some construction noise during the day, but this is only very temporary. It is during the day only, and you are not supposed to be in your room during the day, right? there are tons of activiities!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Very little English. Had to go to other hotel to get travel and tour info.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, always smiling. 4 of us stayed one night here during a trip, had 2 rooms and both were perfect. Little heater as it was chilly out. They got breakfast ready for us earlier than the specified times as we were leaving on a tour. Yummy dinner and breakfast. Very comfy bed. They didn't mind my terrible attempts at Spanish.
Cons: All great. Loved it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was amazing! The rooms were big and comfortable, we had a portable heating and toiletries. There was a small living room and bar with complimentary drinks inside our room but in a separate space. We had dinner there, it was very personalised and the food was amazing. We only stayed here one night but wished we could've stayed longer!

Pros: Location is very convenient, right in the main square. Since we had to leave at 6am to join our tour, the hosts arranged an early breakfast for us at 5.30am, not packed meal, but full spread buffet with scrambled egg freshly made. Thank you! We went for zip lining after lunch and the hot shower was truly refreshing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel and staff
Cons: No
9.3 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived we both had altitude sickness and just chilled for a day - and what a nice spot to do it! We were there for 3 nights and our room had a large private patio with a lovely view. We had a very enjoyable walk with Paulo and he was very knowledgeable about history, plants, you name it. All the staff (namely Cesar, Orland and Paulo) went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food in the restaurant was very good and we ate there every night.
Cons: The only thing that let them down was their lunch box offering - the vegetarian cheese sandwich wasn't up to their usual standard - dry, hardly edible and expensive for what it was.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything. The killawasi is beautiful, super comfortable and clean and the staff was amazing. They were so gracious, accomodating, and seemed to genuinely care about my comfort and happiness. Yanque is a gorgeous spot in the Colca Valley and I always felt very safe even traveling alone. I would highly recommend the Kilawasi and hope to go back one day.

Paul does yours & he is so knowledgeable His historical knowledge not only about this area but all of Peru is outstanding This is heads above places we’ve stayed in Peru for a lot more money
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The biggest benefit of this hotel is the possibility to look on the surrounding mountains. Something unbelievable and hard to describe :) The lodge itself is has separate building with 4 rooms, which are clean and comfortable. Altogether this is a very good place to stay in after some trekking done in the Colca Canyon.
Cons: It was too cold in the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We came from Arequipa with Colonial (the tourist agency providing the transport and the guide) and decided not to stay in the hostel included in the trip but to make a reservation on our own in the killawasi lodge. We did not regret it! We got an uprade to a superior room with a breathtaking view of the colca valley an the beatifully kept garden. The staff was very welcoming and helpfull! They even organised a driver for us so we could enjoy the hot springs as we arrived a little later in the afternoon. We were amazed by the many languages they speak and they shared very interesting knowledge with us. The offer a free trekking tour, can organise horse riding and the Transport to the hot springs (the real ones!). We paid the driver directly. The restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was enough we left this place completely satisfied and wished we could have stayed some more time!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Their new manager - a real treasure. The client service on the top level. The guided tour cannot be missed! The room was comfortable and clean. Nice garden
Cons: I would change a variety of breakfast. No vegetables. It’s a pity as this is the kingdom of avocado and you can buy also a very good tomates.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is composed of small houses which you can rent. Bathroom is extremely large like in spa, rooms are very warm due to effective heating and there is a fireplace in the room too. I liked the service as the personnel was very helpful in organising transport from Arequipa to Canyon de Colca, then transport around the Canyon for the hikes which we wanted to do. The extra free of charge service include feeding 4 baby alpakas with milk which we liked a lot and cooking lesson.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything especially thanks to Mr Barnaby to help us with the new booking of our new flights - the flights we booked where cancelled. the feeding of the baby alpacac's - the beautiful walk in the resort with marvellous views of the colca canyon - stay there at least 1 night more to enjoy all the facilities of the resort and to relax
Cons: everything perfect

9.3 Excellent
Pros: -Fantastic place, beautiful location, wonderful hot springs. -Breakfast was superb
Cons: -Making your own way there can be difficult as you need to get a bus to Chivay or Yanque and then a taxi to the lodge as it is situated on the opposite side of the Canyon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Heraldo in restaurant made our evening by surprising my boyfriend with a birthday dessert and singing. Thankyou very special.
7.5 Good
Pros: The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and it was lovely to visit the alpacas and wander around.
Cons: The rooms are fairly basic, no TV, and fairly brown and dull, for an overnight tour stay. The staff varied from very friendly and helpful to aloof and unhelpful (restaurant). For a solo traveller, being made to feel welcome and at home is everything. I chose to eat in my room because the reception at the restaurant was less than welcoming. They wanted me to sit at the back of the room instead of by the window which tends to happen when you’re a solo woman - particularly in Peru - saving the best tables for the couples who are of course much more valued. It’s a shame.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The peaceful setting and the amazing hot springs coupled with the dramatic landscape just took my breath away. The staff was so helpful and courteous I truly did not want to leave.
Cons: Well for the price I think they could improve on the towels in the rooms. They were to small and worn.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Splendid location, very nice rooms, anazing private hot springs, nice staff.
Cons: The restaurant is expensive and disappointing. Overall, the hotel offers excellent service but is too expensive.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location, hot springs, amazing gardens. Fairy tale like.
Cons: The big restaurant had no class and accepted large groups of tourists. Breakfast is not what one might expect of a 4 star. I would have liked more information on hiking readily available
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beatiful and the room was wheelchair accessible.
Cons: The hotel grounds are not wheelchair accessible
Casona Plaza Hotel Ecolodge Colca - Yanque - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was great. The staff was fun and outgoing and took extra care to supply our needs. I will highly recommend!!!
Cons: Everything was great.
6.8 Good
Pros: They did not make any trouble about cancelling the second night.
Cons: Restaurant was closed, which is an issue in a small town like this!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the room was massive for $30 a night and two double beds, massive bathroom and the shower was amazing, pressure shower basically and really hot water. The facilities were big in general. Near the condors too.
Cons: I thought when we ordered dinner, the woman in charge did not really have people skills, not very sociable or flexible, as we ordered a dish with french fries and not rice but rice came out and the fries didn't, by this stage we had waited about 25 mins to have dinner, she then took the dish back to the kitchen and we had to wait another 10 minutes while I was eating mine... silly things really but in general I'd recommend it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the beautiful Colca valley. Staff is very helpful. Clean facilities.
Cons: Kitchen staff didn't keep all items supplied on breakfast bar.
5.8 Okay
Pros: 1/The view of the mountains 2/ the lamas 3 / the big room
Cons: 1/We came during the week, just before Cheistmas and the hotel was empty, we were alone at the breakfast and the dinner, it’s far from the cosy atmosphere we’ve seen on pictures. 2/ the dinner menu is about indistrual soup or pizza, not a lot of choice in this lost village..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness,quiet, staff attentive
Cons: Wife’s supper chicken, some was totally raw. Sign on road only says hotel,so pass by not realizing is hotel one is looking for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really like the design of the property, it is located at Yanque wherein the plaza you can see the spectacular active volcano Sabancaya and take nice pictures. The hotel provides a nice view of the mountains with nice shades, you can see the sunrise, it's all that it counts. You have a basic breakfast and a la carte dishes for your dinner. They don't offer lunch because you have restaurants in Chivay only 8 kilometres from there, where you can visit the Mirador, the Hot Springs, and have your lunchtime there. It is all about tourism and you need to explore better with own vehicle. The hotel also has an Alpaca, so the kids can take a nice photo, and there is also a backyard you can do bonfire if you like and hammocks. I really love this place, you can always travel to Peru, and buy your own tour at the main square plaza. I do not recommend buying whole packages because you don't have the option to choose your hotel. With booking you know where to go, and sure the place will satisfy your expectations.
Cons: The Hotel should improve or update the bathrooms, and create a Spa with jacuzzi and massage services, manicure and pedicure. Other than that I am completely satisfied and the staff is welcoming and reserved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice rooms and very warm and comfortable. During the day it's very warm but night during the dry winter months is very cold. The staff are really very friendly and helped us to enjoy our stay and the hotel is situated very well to explore the area
Cons: All good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very large and clean rooms, beautifull location
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Need to have Television
Overview Reviews
It is a dream hotel, full of legends, andean and colonial traditions, surrounded by stunning views, located in the district of Coporaque along the Colca riverbank, three hours from the city of Arequipa. An old watermill located at the entrance of the hotel, welcomes you to Aranwa Pueblito Encantado del Colca, giving the best access to the magical universe that surrounds the Colca Valley. This place has an indescribable flora and fauna, as well as a hypnotic colorful sky crossed by the elegant flight of the condor, one of the most representative birds of Peru.Coporaque is a legendary place, located ten minutes from the town of Chivay. It has a vast colonial history that transports you to a scene of andean traditions, mysticism, devotion to religious festivals, and to the historical past that few have experienced closely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, friendly staff. The restaurant/clubhouse is a great family amenity. LOVE the onsite animals, especially the baby alpacas.
Cons: Our room was very hot from the afternoon sun beaming in. Took a long time to cool off and made sleeping difficult. There was only 1 window in the bedroom and once opened, you loose privacy. Other than that, super stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such peace and quiet, broken only by the sound of running water in the nearby river. Backdrop is stunning Pre-Inca terraces. Gentle alpacas roam the grounds. Restaurant is reached by walking through the beautiful gardens. Food is delicious and reasonably priced (compared with other places we’ve stayed in) Considerable thought has gone into planning the facilities: Solar heated pool, sauna, spa, chapel. Two floor chalet style accommodation, each with balcony and view. Bathroom is enormous with luxurious spa bath. Separate sitting room upstairs with microwave oven. Comfortable King-sized bed. Office and maintenance staff were very attentive and quickly attended to any concern Absolutely loved it. Our favourite place in Peru and probably the world. Do yourself a favour and stay at least two nights. There is much to see in the Colca Canyon but also have some time to simply relax at the resort or go rock hopping along the river (dry season only of course).
Cons: If I have to find a gripe, it was just that the Wait staff in the dining room at breakfast didn’t actually come to our table to ask if we wanted to order an omelette as they do elsewhere. But really, I just had to put my hand up to call them over so it’s not a complaint, it simply helped me to not overeat.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and beautiful and the bathroom was magnificent. The atmosphere in the hotel is vert good and the place itself was beautiful
Cons: Prices of everything in the hotel were too high, Sauna was not working and always turned off, Outside pool was dirty Not enough waiters in the restaurant
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Not clean, too many bugs (even for this type of location)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was set away from everything so the atmosphere was very peaceful! The rooms were very nice with all the essentials you might need.
Cons: The hotel is in a remote location and was difficult to find. The hot springs located near the hotel were great but there was no dedicated path to get to them making the walk to them at night very difficult.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Hot springs next door
Cons: Not very cosy and restaurant and bar lacks atmosphere. Drain smell in one room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the landscape, the tranquility. A place to disconnect from everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The setting, the views, facitities, food, staff....everything was wonderful
Cons: The charge for my accomodation was not the same as I was quoted by booking. It was a bit more, still reasonable for what we got but not the same so it made me wonder whether other hotels booked through booking.com will have the same problem.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It is an amazing location, and very nicely designed location. The massage was amazing and most of the spa facilities.
Cons: There is a lot of maintenance that can be done to tighten things up a bit. The bell man pounded on our door at 6am the first night of our stay, and then walked away. Some of the resturant staff in the morning spent more time watching TV then taking care of the guest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fantastic
Cons: They should change the music on the dinning room.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly fine. Basic and okay for 1 night. The host let me stay until noon (checkout is 10am normally but I was the only one in.) Felt quite welcome there.
Cons: Thought it was a bit dark but that's the building and can't be fixed I don't think.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Marina was super nice and helpful, she gave us great recommendations and even came with us to the bus station to help us.
Cons: It was very, very cold in the room. We had a small heater, but even so it wasn't enough. On our second night there was no hot water.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful with information. The room including the bed were comfortable with good hot water in the bathroom. The breakfast was good. Heater was welcome and was used in short bursts to take the cold out of the room.
Cons: A television with an English channel would have been nice but not essential. Barking dogs early in the morning was a nuisance but this is not the fault of the owner!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Marena was awesome. Helped with recommendations around Chivay, arranged for short trip to neighboring towns, always happy and helpful. Chivay is a great little town. They have upgraded a lot of streets and are continuing to do so. Lots of effort to make the town a better place. Kollawas is on a "main" street, but it is pretty quiet, especially in the rooms at the back of the building.
Cons: Room was a bit small - no real place to stick our luggage, just a small path around the bed. Internet was very slow, but still better than Cabanaconde.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marina is a wonderful kind host
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marina the owner of the hostal is a lovely women. She try to organize all for the guests. Unfortunatly was the time schedule for my trip to short to stay longer. Thank you also for the exelent tour though the Colca Canyon by Palermo. This was the best training for the Salkantay trail.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Marina the manager was so lovely and gracious, and made us feel very much at home. She gave us excellent advice about hikes and restaurants and transport options to nearby attractions like the thermal baths, Corporaque, etc. If I ever return to Chivay I would make a point of going to her hostel again if only to greet her and see how she is doing. Excellent host.
Cons: It was hard to stay warm in the room at night, but this is not the hostel’s fault. The space heater worked ok, but it generated an intense light in the room, so be prepared and bring an eye mask. With that, it’s fine.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: First of all, in Chivay it is hard to find the perfect hostel. But this hostel was clean, had hot water, towels, comfortable beds, and a kitchen. The most important factor is Marina. She helped me with everything, even walking me to the bus station and negotiating a discount for my bus to Puno. She also talked about the town and brought in special fruits for my breakfast accommodating my diet. If you stay in Chivay, you can't go wrong here.
Cons: I thought 20$ was a bit expensive and the WiFi was a bit slow.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming. Marina helped us out from the begining to the end. She even make breakfast earlier than the regular schedule just for us since we were leaving early for our Colca tour. She went above and beyond with hospitallity expectations !!
Cons: For an affordable price you need to be considered with your expectations. Overall great customer service !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: I really enjoyed my stay there, Marina was super nice and she helped to organize my colca Canyon tour

10.0 Excellent
Pros: - really good restaurant with amazing food for good value - stunning location in colca canyon - organised a Cruz del condor trip for us - amazing lodge accommodation - electric blankets and heater were needed - staff were amazing - staff sent our lost passports to us in puno - from what we observed, this is the best accommodation in chivay
Cons: - although it was our fault , the staff did not check our safe properly when we checked out, so we left our passports and it caused a huge amount of grief - observatory tour/show was not in operation.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice gardens and quite comfortable if chilly rooms. Good bathroom. The manager took the trouble to speak to us at length before she left and admitted her staff needed more training.
Cons: On booking. Com it states it has a tour desk. Staff told us they could not help us book a taxi to the Condors mirador but to go into the main plaza. We did and booked a taxi through an agent. The taxi did not arrive. In the end the head porter found us another taxi. The heater in the room was inadequate and its feet fell off.
6.2 Good
Pros: Electric blanket and decor
Cons: Wet bathroom floors
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms with very good warm beds
Cons: Shpere in Brabander dining room. Could be much cosier in my opinion : make it a warm location, for example always lite the fire when it’s cold
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds and friendly staff, great massage too
7.5 Good
Pros: The facilities and the services. They are very good, and in the case of facilities try to emulate the architecture of the valley. The service in the hotel was very good and the personnel very helpful.
Cons: The service of internet in the hotel rooms. Perhaps, this was the negative point of the hotel.- It is a little strange because the wifi service is very common in several Peruvian hotels.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cosy hotel!
Cons: Very bad WiFi
7.0 Good
Pros: People are very nice and helpful
Cons: Everything is more or less basic in the rooms, that could have been of higher quality
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this wonderful hotel, tucked away in Chivay. The grounds were lovely, the rooms were modern and clean, service was great, the restaurant was FANTASTC, and the heated blankets were awesome!! Would absolutely stay here again.
7.0 Good
Pros: The rooms were nice comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: The food at the restaurant was bad. The staff at the restaurant was very slow. One of the electric blankeds didn’t work and we Didn’t have hot water in the morning. I’ve stayed at many Casa Andinas, this one seemed like they have forgotten it a bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel. At this point in my month in Peru I was ready for heat and a bit more comfortable lodging vs a hostel or very simple hotel. Casa Andina Colca was a great price for all you get. The staff was so so helpful and friendly. Room had great blackout curtains and privacy blinds for the day. Hot water was plentiful. Room super clean. Location good - less than 5 minutes to Plaza de Armas. Heater worked fine, if you are cold, make sure to turn it on asap. Oh! And electric blankets were a unique touch! I hadn't watched any TV all month so I loved the tv and the remote control instructions. It is the first hotel that I've seen ever with a cool button you can press to make the show be in English. So say a show is produced in English but shown in Spanish in Peru, the remote brings it back to English. Was nice to watch a movie at night. Would love to stay here again. I ate at buffet dinner once. Truthfully I think it was too expensive but I was dying to eat a huge salad and knew I could trust the raw veggies they had.

Pros: It’s located in beautiful setting. Hot spring bath was amazing. Or though they say there is no WiFi in rooms we had it in ours ( extra bonus )
Cons: Hotel was really really quiet so it lacked atmosphere. I’m sure in peek season is buzzing but it just simply lacked people. Staff is very poor in english language so it was hard to communicate at the time. Food was not great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful location.
Cons: Traveled with two young girls and the food and pay options are limited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room. The food was excellent. The view was incredible. The perfect place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It is paradise and the staff is simply WONDERFUL. I definitely recommend staying here and can’t wait to be back!
6.8 Good
Pros: The thermal pool, the common rooms were good!
Cons: The room could have been better, the bathroom and it lacked of the common facilities (ex. Electric sockets??) Also the breakfast could have been better..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice views from the room, they provided 2 heaters therefore the room was warm and nice Hotel having its own thermal pool was great as well
Cons: The dining area was too cold to enjoy the dinner and the bar. Additionally i would change the lightbulbs to yellow color instead of fluorescent white to give more cosy feeling. Dinner menu could be improved with more options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Amazing service, helpful and friendly (specially with the kids) - Room with view of the Colca river - Natural pool with hot stream - Breakfast buffet of top quality - Amazing location by the Colca river
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great wi fi. Hot water bottle in room.
Cons: Lighting in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location, very helpful and nice staff. Good breakfast and dinners.
Cons: The clothes closet should have at least one shelf. For leisure seekers like us breakfast is too early (until 8.30) for a 4 star hotel. Maybe a service for people that want to have breakfast later would be nice (no buffet would be fine).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, particularly Carla, were fantastic. We had a tricky problem with flights which she sorted out for us. The hotel is stunning in an amazing location on the river with its own hot springs.
Cons: The dinner in the restaurant was ok, but could have been better.

Pros: Loved all of it... The staff was amazing... Lucy was the best cook and Elizabeth took us for a walk that was unforgettable... The owner treated us like royalty...
Cons: Nothing...
5.5 Okay
Pros: Clean rooms and hot showers. The observatory is fun (but only 5 minutes of stargazing). Free walking guide offered.
Cons: The staff had no clue about local transport or activities, and is distant/unfriendly. The pool was closed during our stay, and the 'spa' can only be used after paying 20dollar. Meal menu is overpriced seen the quality.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We felt like at home. Good atmosphere

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really beautiful and clean facilities. Wonderful breakfast and easy to hike through town and to the ruins from there.
Cons: Dinner was more pricey than I expected compared to everywhere else I had dinner in Peru, but they include a Planetarium tour as part of it. The staff was helpful and nice.

Cons: There was nothing I didn't like
5.5 Okay
Pros: Nice fire in restaurant. Horseriding.
Cons: Being told there was a 20% discount on horseriding then having to pay full amount after horseriding had taken place. Would not want to get on the wrong side of the owner. Breakfast not sufficient Pool closed and no apology
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet although near the road. So few cars.
Cons: The dinner menu is not worth a French manager. The cheap and simple "restaurant" where the citizens eat has more tasty menue del dia.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved every minute of staying in this place - reception staff were extremely friendly and we got on so well having great chats together about life and everything in between. Though the place was quite quiet even though it is high season it felt very attentive and there was always someone around to help. Incredible location a 3 min walk to the centre of Chivay, breakfast was great and we could even ask what we wanted to have and they ensured it would be on the table in the morning, and the showers were so hot! One of the best places we stayed at in Peru.
Cons: Bathroom smelled a little bizarre but this was soon dealt with. Amazing place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Before the sleep I went to the reception in my pyjamas to get some coca tea and nobody would make a fuss about this. Very good breakfast for this price range.

6.3 Good
Pros: Warm and friendly staff, freshly made eggs for breakfast
Cons: Not sure that bedding was really cleaned, a LOT of noise on the street.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Our family had a great stay here. Breakfast was good with 6am start which is great prior to activities. Room was basic and very spacious. Large bathroom with big walk-in shower - water was very hot with good pressure. We had a heater in our room which was a nice option. The absolute best part of this hotel is the owner/manager. She is very nice and very accommodating. She helped us book our tour to the canyon and also helped arrange our visit to the Colca observatory/planetarium (which was excellent and very worthwhile). She is a very sweet and caring person and our encounter with her helped shape our trip into a very memorable family experience, even our young boys commented how pleasant and nice she was... Peru is a very beautiful albeit busy travel destination, travel well and make your time in Chivay enjoyable by staying here...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We were assisted by the proprietress in laundry services and calling a doctor to make a visit when one of us had perhaps caught a stomach infection complicated by altitude sickness. She also prepared a diet breakfast based on the doctor's recommendations. We are eternally grateful for all the she did.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is really lovely. The shower were really hot. The small heater in the bedroom was very useful. Free tea offered. Good breakfast. Best place from our trip.

Pros: Decent sized rooms and a location right next to the main square of Chivay Breakfast was good Good for a night’s stay if heading to Colca Canyon
Cons: Traffic along one of the main roads to the square, and the dogs in that part of town, are a regular noise throughout the night so not too good for light sleepers The rooms are very cold and the shower luke warm / takes around 5 mins to warm up Check-in is quite amateur. Don’t be surprised if they have no record of your booking and can’t access booking.com Can take a while to be let in when ringing the front door bell

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice room and nice decore/ art throughout the place. Best hot shower I've found yet in Peru.
Cons: Assistance setting up transportation to the condors was difficult. They told me to go to the square. The tourist booths in the square told me, my hostal/hotel would set it up. The loud music playing next door at 6am was awakening. It was actually good cultural music (not annoying), but way to loud for 6am.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was dry clean, breakfast was basic, but very good.

8.8 Excellent
Cons: Good position, very kindly staff
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location was good, naar the town center. But not easy to find since the location in google is on the wrong spot.
Cons: It was very noisy, at 05:00 we were rudely awakened by the music turned on by our Neighbor. After asking he turned it down a little but still way too loud to call it a social happening.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was nice: bread, butter, jam, tea, avocado, and a fresh juice. The room is big, we had 2 queen-size beds. Quite clean. The lady was kind. Wifi was good, we watched Netflix with it.
Cons: Somehow we had quite a weird night, we hear a strange sound the whole night and at some point we both had difficulty to breath for sometime. At first we thought it was noise from the other room, but after sometime we wonder why it didn't stop. For me, the property has a bit creepy ambience. No kitchen and no place to eat nearby after 9 PM (you should walk a bit to the square and it is very pricey). It is a bit far from the bus station but very close to the main square.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice presentation. Lots of genuine Andean culture around, in terms of objects, art, local dress, building construction, local foods and so on. At the same time designed around the needs of Western travellers, so heating in the rooms at night, a games-room corner, a sitting area with fire. I think it was designed to be comfortable but not exaggerated. They arranged horseback riding for us with a local horseman, which was a good experience for our children (we do speak Spanish, though).
Cons: The hotel seems to be organized around large tour groups arriving, eating, sleeping over, having an early breakfast (5:30am start) and then going off in their buses again early. There were only a few visitors like us on their own itinerary. We were with young children and the evening meal was too late for them, and also too large (a buffet) with no light option. An early light supper would have been helpful to us. (Instead we improvised with bread and bananas from local shops, and hot chocolate from the hotel kitchen.) Also the early breakfast was interesting (e.g. a variety of puffed Andean cereals, and other Andean specialities) plus standard juices/coffee/tea, but all cold food, and not substantial enough for us to last until lunchtime. Definitely not enough to go walking on! We needed something else mid-morning. For independent travellers, there is interesting history/culture/walking in and around Coporaque, but not much in the way of services, e.g. just one small basic restaurant (not always open) and 3-4 small general stores. Colectivo from Coporaque main square (2-3 blocks away) to Chivay is cheap but you'll have to wait for it to fill up, or else pay for the rest of the seats. Hotel lunch needs to be booked ahead.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved the hot shower! Breakfast included was great for leaving early. Dinner was good and reasonably priced.
Cons: Lots of steps. Buffet dinner could have been hotter.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place to stay. Awesome service and stunning green scenery of the Colca Canyon from the hotel.
Cons: Heater setting is not controllable from the room. Our room did not have any view.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great food. A wonderful retreat, without phones, TV or wifi. Just 15 minutes from Chivay. Cruz del cóndor was spectacular
Cons: Rooms are a bit primitive

Cons: The room was still bright from the light outside during the night. We also had a huge spider in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really close to the bus station and to the pick up point of 4M bus. The main square is also close, approx 5 minutes. The host is friendly, he helped me to organize colca canyon tour for next day. Bed was ok, the room was clean and I got extra cover for the night (it's cold in Chivay in April). Wifi worked well in the room. Breakfast was good, egg, jam, marmalade, juice and tea :) There was hot water (just wait 2 min).
Cons: The host helped me to organize a trip for colca canyon for 40 soles although if you do it for yourself at the square it's 5 soles less. He forgot to tell me that there is 70 soles fee to enter the canyon. The room has no heating although they provided extra cover.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff was very accommodating and friendly. It was nice to see the whole family working together
Cons: It was so noisy. The doors on all of the rooms basically shook the building as people banged them shut! This went on until about midnight and started up again around 5:30 a.m.

10.0 Excellent
