9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff and great environment / atmosphere in the restaurant. Loved that.
Cons: The air conditioning did fail at night and there was a mosquito. I prefer it when there is a mosquito net in the space for these situations. Also there was no taxi waiting at the airport as promised. They paid my taxi on arrival but I would have preferred to know this could be the arrangement.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Complimentary airport pick up. Lovely, clean and newly refurbished room. Good AC. Good WIFI. Nice and helpful staff.
Cons: Very basic breakfast with bread, jam and coffee. Slightly better on the first morning (+juice, cake and croissant). What a shame.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully done rooms, garden and restaurant are also nice to relax, dinner at the restaurant was the best we had in Benin. The driver who picked us up at the airport (Kevin) also was very welcoming and helpful to us in our later travels
Cons: They kind of forgot about us still being there on the last day but the staff who remained managed to help us get checked out, breakfast could also be improved to be on par with the rest of the food that they offer

Bars and restaurants just around the corner. Possibility to use delivery service with delicious pasta and pizzas. Very clean, spacious rooms with balcony.
Cons: No complaints at all, thank you staff, you deserve gold!
6.8 Good
Pros: The swimming pool, facilities, original modern paintings and very pleasant staff. Being able to get brekfast in flat. Being in the real core of the city and not with the expats.
Cons: No local bars or restaurants nearby that westerners could go to. Modest would be fine. Location difficulty. Taxis take ages to come (unless ordered in advance) although not cheap. No ordinary stores (for Westerners!) for shopping. All location problems. Little information at the reception as to where to go or eperience. Balanced by the advantage above.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Didn't have time to take their breakfast.
Cons: Some of the staff members(receptionists) were very rude to me and doesn't deserve to be working at this great hotel. Was in a rush and not able to get their names. They were the last two lady receptionist i met on Sunday afternoon before leaving the hotel since i had to leave a little later than my time and had to pay for a half day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about Maison Rouge. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were spacious and well maintained and the food for the most part was excellent. The pool was divine, excellent at the end of a long hot day.
Cons: The meals were great and well flavored but I had 1 experience with a fish that was over done. Sorry guys...I love this hotel so having to say that I didn't like something is hard. Oh, the showers are a bit small although the bathrooms are large.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff and service Nice art
6.8 Good
Pros: The quietness
Cons: The size of both room and bathrooms
7.0 Good
Pros: Food was quite good, ambience very calm. Room was large, internet works.
Cons: It was too expensive for what it is. The place needs a facelift- it's 25 years old and seems it- bathroom is tiny and a bit of a mess (cold water tap didn't work). tv didn't work. Staff sat around yacking a lot with nothing to do.
6.3 Good
Pros: location is great
Cons: The breakfast was really poor, food was expensive , room looks smaller than it does in person.. Shower area was so tiny, water pressure was so poor, i felt over charged. Looks like an old people retirement home
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely boutique hotel only a few minutes from the Cotonou airport, easy access to the rest of the city. Staff were exceedingly friendly and welcoming, and the pool was a great end to humid weather days. Room was very comfortable and clean, and the restaurant's dinner specials were exceptional, with great breakfast as well.
Cons: Some wifi issues, but that's par for the course, and the hotel had technicians on staff at all hours to troubleshoot.

Pros: Simply the best hotel in Cotonou! Nice feel of a boutique hotel, well designed and decorated. The staff was very professional and very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything

9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was located in a good area near the artisan market, and many restaurants. Walk-able to all the locations we wanted to go to. Younger man in his 20's was very very nice. The bread from breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Its important to know that if you stay that there is a curfew. Rita does not want you out past 11 at the latest. We werent told this and she scolded us like we were children the morning after we got back at 1am. Additionally if you dont like dogs I dont recommend it because there are two dogs and one is big. Finally the water pressure wasnt great. Breakfast was nice but it was simply just bread, nescafe, and milk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was amazing. The worker in the house- young guy, i forgot his name- went out of his way to make sure i was comfortable and help me with my passport which was stuck at the airport. Private driver who picked me up from airport (i was 4 hours delayed and he waited) and who took me to the border was expensive but i think worth it. Nice guy, nice car, safe driving. Continental breakfast (bread, butter, coffee, juice, fruit) adequate.
Cons: Wifi died on second day (Sunday) and couldnt turn on because the office was closed- the bill had to be paid. Not a big deal- i had a local sim for internet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, located in an affluent part of town and with a helpful and affable owner.
Cons: It's a guesthouse rather than a hotel so doesn't have a clear sign. None of the zems (mototaxis) I encountered knew of it so expect to have to give them directions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location close to Center of Cotonou
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet place, close to the centre. Nice to stay if you're here for more than just a few days. Breakfast on the terrace is great, also to sit after a day's work.
Cons: Breakfast could have a bit more variety than just the bread, butter and jam. Mind the fresh fruit and fruit juice are great! Bed is a bit hard. Would be nice to have a small fridge in the room instead of general use fridge downstairs. Some rooms have TV other don't.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It is a very nice property in a quiet area of Cotonou. It is very conveniently located close to the airport and they can arrange transport to and from the airport. There are also two nice restaurants close by (L'Impala and Maquis de Residence).
Cons: You may have some problems to communicate your wishes if you don't speak any French. Communication on this platform is not a problem but the staff did not speak any English during my visit so it had to be sorted out in French and with some communication issues (which was all fine in the end but sometimes a little problematic).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I would like to start my review from the fact that I requested an airport pick up taxi at 21:10 but could get out of the airport only at 23:10 and the taxi driver was still waiting for me! The driver had to wait so long, because my luggage as well as the baggage of many people traveling from Istanbul to Cotonue was lost somewhere on the way and never arrived (at least mine did not). I was the only one, who stayed at the hotel at the Christmas eve. Popo, who is taking care of the hotel, speaks very little English, therefore he had to call all the time to the owner, who communicated with me. I would like to thank all people, who tried and helped me to buy some clothes and change money with a very good exchange rate. Bring 50$ and 100$ new banknotes produced after 2009, if you want to have the best exchange rate. At the end I was even offered to stay one night for free, if I wanted to get some news on 26th of December from Turkish Airlines, who lost my luggage. I had to leave, because I booked a room in Ouidah, but it was an unexpectedly pleasant offer. The hotel is very well located in a safe embassy district. My room had a double bed, AC, mosquito net, hot shower, terrace outside, strong internet. One time I wanted to get bananas late in the evening and Popo went to his place and brought 2-3 kg of fresh bananas from his own tree! Absolutely for free! Amazing hospitality!
Cons: The bed was a bit hard as in many places in West Africa and breakfast can be improved. You get an African baguette, butter and jam, instant coffee or tea, condensed milk, fresh orange juice and a bowl of fresh pineapple. I was actually full after the breakfast but it misses some variety.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Value for money and excellent home made food.
Cons: Cannot think of anything to complain!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The B&B is located in a well off neighbourhood near to the GIZ and Swiss Development offices as well as close to the German Embassy, so it feels secure for foreigners to walk around without any issues. It is a small B&B run by an older lady who was very friendly and welcoming when I arrived. The room I stayed in was clean and well equipped with AC, a fan, a desk with a chair and a large bed (with a mosquito net over the frame, unlike many other places with AC). Breakfast was pleasant with bread, butter, jam and fresh fruit as well as juice and coffee (nescafé as per usual in Benin). Also, it is within walking distance of the Marché des artisans. I felt really welcome at the B&B where you notice that it is only small (with 3 rooms) in a positive way.
Cons: There isn't so much choice of places to eat directly near the hotel (compared to Cadjehoun) but there are still enough places that this isn't really a problem.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ocean view is wonderful and food is excellent.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Almost resort-like, and great value for the price. The hotel has everything. Nice view from the lounge terrace and very relaxing place to unwind. Plenty of places to sit and hang out. Room was immaculate. Staff very helpful.
Cons: Pool is not chlorinated like in most western countries. Not all that bad, and I still swam in it, but it surprised me a little. The terrace can smell like the dirty river during a strong breeze. Not the property’s fault though.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very clean and the staff very helpful. The restaurant was also very good which overlooks the ocean and lake
Cons: nothing much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are now regular customers and get a better room each time we stay. Always friendly staff and great food at the in-house restaurant which is unusual for a hotel. Best place to stay in Cotonou, Benin.
Cons: Everything was fine. Very pleasant stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The food was great.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: There we mosquitos in the room, but the hotel provided me with a mosquito net

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really helpful in coordinating transportation from the airport. They were really responsive and easy to get in touch with.
6.8 Good
Pros: Great location. Great owner who truly cares ti make customer confortable
Cons: Rooms too small and tight ok for 2 very small people. Beds long enough for people of 1.70 cm not more
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I like that I had my own private villa. It was clean, all the necessities were included (ac, toiletries, hot and cold water, & electricity). The bed was large and comfortable. I felt safe and secured throughout my stay at Hotels Residences Easy.
Cons: The spotty WiFi, it was consistently cutting off and on. Aside from that the location was alright but I felt that the hotel is more developed than a lot of the nearby homes and businesses. However that’s just my personal observation. The nearby beach made it more enjoyable and the cheap street foods.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and amazing location. Very good service too!

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Airport shuttle
Cons: No safety box in room, I ordered from Room service they didn’t provide me . Restaurant service is very slow. Internet it was very slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is a buffet which caters to different kind of diets. The buffet selection is really good.
Cons: I didn't like the way people my visitors were treated. I understand the hotel is trying to improve security but there should be a balance.
6.3 Good
Pros: It has the trappings of a good hotel - concierge service, airport shuttle, attentive staff etc. The rooms are nice and modern. Highly recommend the little extra for a balcony, which was great.
Cons: Except for the rooms the building is tired; it was probably great 20-30 years ago but less so now. The restaurant feels kind of oppressive to be in. Not much life to the place. If you ever wanted to live out one of those post-apocalypse movies where they hang around in a crumbling grand hotel then this is the place for you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast caters to a variety of diets
Cons: We should have the option of having cold water not just room temperature for breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: While inside the hotel, it feels so great, I loved the fact that each room had a very high noise control. The staff were very prompt in response to requests. Breakfast was excellent
Cons: The area outside the hotel had a terrible sewage smell and the view from my room overlooked a slum sharing fence with the hotel.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The swimming pool and the views from the gym.
Cons: I was given a musty smelling room on the second floor, no natural day light since it faced a dark dirty courtyard. No windows, no views, very sad experience. Staff at the reception were quite unfriendly too, not too willing to help. Gym had really old machines, none of them were working properly.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff very kind
Cons: No vents in Bathroom, mold in corners , the place needs improvement, lack of DECOR power in hallway is off very dark! Bed was hard like a box spring, not comfortable. Food overpriced, I have to say this as I was very upset, they allow PROSTITUTES on premises as one approached my husband, they hang out in LOBBY and at the Bar outside in evening, I went to restroom and she apparently approached my husband he laughed at her and told me, and I went to her a had words with her and she went inside,. I paid for 10 days plus family visiting another 3 days, and I tipped over whelming, and was very dissapointed in the PROSTITUTES, DOESN'T LOOK GOOD NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE IN A HOTEL VACATION EVERY NOT GOOD FOR THE PEOPLE THAT SYAY ,! also the Security is great with one exception, a guard approached us by the pool in the evening and asked us for MONEY he said he was hungry, I gave him $500 cafers BUT was taken back!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The high level of security and very professional and extremely friendly staff. It was a family.
Cons: The towels were to dirty and and very old. That was very unfortunate. Made an excellent hotel unpleasant The buffet was too expensive and lacked variety. The restaurant should competitive to other top rated restaurant.

Pros: The bathroom
Cons: The air conditioner and the TV Set and Channels
4.3 Okay
Pros: Only the location
Cons: Everything starting from the uncomfortable colors to the rudeness of the receptionist , party on the pool with the loudest speakers and the rooms windows are not sound tight nor mosquitoes tight even
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Should be renamed La Morgue a la Plage - utterly uninviting - deserted for good reason - Hotel de Marie Celeste ? Who runs this place ? Justifiably empty - doubt if more than 3 or 4 rooms occupied Not to be repeated or recommended
Cons: See above - everything - no redeeming features
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Not much
Cons: The welcoming was terrible and they had no room available for me although they had confirmed everything was ok in the morning they wante to send me to another poor hotel. The next day they said they would pick me up at 8h30 but they ended up comimg at 10h30. Never been treated like that sonce 6 years in west africa
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality and friendliness of the staff and prompt response to orders.
Cons: Their inability to communicate in other languages other than French. It might interest you to know that your hotel is an international hotel so staff should be able to communicate fluently in the major languages like English and French (which of course they all speak). There is no car wash(lavage)in your facility which is very important.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very well located, good installations
Cons: Wifi dis not arrive to my room. Expensive meals
7.5 Good

Pros: Friendly Staff, However the Hotel facilities were poor compared to the price requested. The rooms are not very comfortable and no proper isolation with regards to noise. 7.5 Good
Pros: The location was quite clean when I arrived but ...
Cons: I was surprised that no one cleaned the room over the three days I have stayed there. The bathroom was a challenge as I was obliged to use a bucket and collect water to bathe. There was no hot water since the system was not working. They seemed to ignore it but it idiot not seem to be a recent damage. I did check with others and they too did not have hot water in their rooms as well. I was told it was dependent on sun. Breakfast was very basic. Well for the price paid perhaps one should not expect more.
8.8 Excellent

Rooms are good and comfortable, there is a back-up generator, Every morning there is an abundant breakfast wit delicious omelet. There were no staff present at night neither on the night I found the rat, therefore I had to run out into the street to find help from street security. 5.0 Okay
Pros: The location of this hotel is on a lake town. The houses, and this hotel included, are all on stilts. It was something I'd never experienced before. Also the food was good.
Cons: The hotel was not prepared to have us as guests. This is the off season so for our first night we were literally the only ones there and the staff made us all the food they had in their kitchen. Once the owner showed up mid morning the next day we had already decided to cut our stay a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time. Christoph organized diffrend tours and everything was perfect. Thank you so much!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: WOW! The village is amazing and Chris and his staff make sure you see everything! We went for night boat rides and visited the predawn market, he arranged a visit to the local school and told us the history of the village. We got to see so many things that we would have missed if we had just come for the day. Also, the food was amazing.
Cons: This place is rustic. There is no air conditioning, but it is cool at night and you do not need it. The rooms are very basic, but you are in the middle of a stilt village in W Africa if you want luxury then go somewhere else.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Wifi was working. The owner tried to make up for the unpleasant experience with an extra tour through the town on the way back and he dropped us of in Cotonou for free. Food was plenty and good.
Cons: We were very unlucky during our stay. The asked us our preferred arrival and departure time as well as what we would like to do during the time beforehand. This is very good, but unfortunatly he couldn't met the expectations he set himself. As we arrived at the hotel the welcoming of the stuff was unsatisfying, We got a drink and the key to our room, but they didn't really talked to us (we speak mostly english, but i would have expected that they at least try to communicate the next steps.) The owner was not present at that time. After calling him on the phone he arrived two hours later at the hotel and explained us what he can offer. We decided to do a morning market tour the next day before sunset. The next morning unfortunately the driver of the boat did not show up (because he was drunk as the owner explained later) and therefore we could not see the morning market before sunrise. At least we did not need to pay for the tour in the morning. Around 12 the owner asked us when we want to leave and we said at 14.00. He said it's no problem at all and it works fine, but in the end we needed to wait and we left the hotel at around 16.00. I think we were quite unlucky in our case and think that booking one day before arrive is to short-notice for a hotel at that kind of location.
7.0 Good
Pros: Food was great and the staff wanted to stuff me to the brim
Cons: Room a little bit cramped. In general a little bit derelict.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The place, trips with boat and Christopher was very friendly
