Pros: Most things ,the breakfast was excellent, and the position was good with plenty of parking, friends stayed in Aldeburgh and found parking difficult, Karen was always helpful.
Cons: The bathroom needed a shelf we found we had to put our toiletries on the small window ledge and on the sink. With two ladies there were quite a few toiletries!. but this is a small complaint. Would go back.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, good location. Karen makes you so welcome. It is our second visit here and we will certainly return again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, as was the welcome.
Cons: The TV volume couldn't be turned up to a pitch we could comfortably hear. I understand the reasons, but we are older visitors both wear hearing aids, and we needed it to be a little louder.

8.8 Excellent (483 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Aldeburgh, Wentworth Hotel is a 1-minute drive from Moot Hall and 5 minutes from Thorpeness Windmill. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The exceptional history of the building and ambience. Comfortable room and bed. Perfect location for the coast line.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The toast was properly cooked. That is rare for a hotel breakfast.
Cons: One breakfast waiter was rather surley
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The service for breakfast was incredibly slow. I mentioned it to the manager and he apologised but the problem persisted throughout my stay,
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a first class hotel and beautifully kept. Our room was comfortable but a little compact as are rooms in older building in which an en-suite has been formed. The shower was exceptional, powerful and no wait for hot water. All of the staff were polite, attentive and welcoming, we quickly felt at home. I liked that they did not take payment until we were departing and that parking was included in the price. Good variety of food for breakfast, including their own excellent muesli. The cooked breakfast seemed freshly prepared with a choice of extras. We would certainly stay again and hope to get a sea view next time.
Cons: Sadly on our last day both our sausages tasted sour which we did mention to the staff. Shame to have spoiled an otherwise perfect stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotels various lovely seating areas as well as the fabulous outside terrace and garden aided a truly relaxing break.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. We asked for a quiet room and within half-an-hour of making the booking, I received an email from Emma confirming that we would be accommodated in a double room in Darfield House. It's a lovely annex across the road from the main building. The room was excellent and quiet. It looked out on to the garden, where we relaxed with a glass of wine or two. The business has been in the ownership of the same family since the 1920s and it shows. It's certainly not the usual chain or group offering. We'd certainly choose the Wentworth again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very good. Breakfast very good. Some dinners dry. Overall, we would certainly return and would recommend the hotel. My friend said
Cons: My friend said some of her food was a little dry. I was quite happy with my own.I was very satisfied
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was very good. Hotel a little tired but perfect for a weekend away. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection was excellent. Ate in just one evening as we were meeting friends, food choice was good. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Cons: A small fridge in the room would have been an asset as it was very hot. Selection of water would have been a bonus, only still provided.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location parking and staff
Cons: Room small just because I am single traveller doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate some space. The single room was hot and stuffy though adequate should be half price of a double room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent but was a little disappointed with room 4 although we had the sea view it wasn't quite what we expected. We did enjoy our stay and all the staff were excellent.
Cons: Ensuite a little small and Tarmac flat roof covered in pigeon pooh outside the window

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a very nice hotel, rooms were lovely and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Cons: Car parking can be a little tricky in peak season, but overall a small price to pay for such a nice place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great although we were woken very early by the fishing boats coming back in early morning. It wasn't a problem though . We had a cup of tea sitting watching the fishermen unload the boat with a lovely sunrise. Memorable! Had dinner during a thunderstorm in the Sea Spice restaurant. The food was very nice. The service was disjointed with no one knowing what the other was doing. They spontaneously give us a discount for their misgivings. I would eat here again.
Cons: Room decor was very dull.
7.0 Good
Pros: All the staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Bedside lights weren't good enough to read in bed which was a very big disappointment. Pillows were very plump and did not compress causing neck ache. No bubble bath provided. Room very small and cramped and would be uncomfortable for two people.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Position on the sea front
Cons: Tired decor, TV didn’t work
7.5 Good
Pros: Location very good
Cons: Room basic
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous breakfast choices served to your table, in a light airy dining room
Cons: Room adequate for price, slightly on small side, but you pay for location
7.5 Good
Cons: Low pressure in the shower
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food and service outstanding.
Cons: Very limited parking and windows not double glazed so sleep disturbed by gulls from very early hours.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great breakfast, luckily we got parked right outside but parking could be tricky. Location was perfect, sea view room would have been nice the inland view room was a little stuffy!
Cons: Room was a bit stuffy, the wine bottle cooler was dirty when put on our table for dinner in the brasserie and the sofas in lounge area were tired & grubby looking...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly staff, lovely food, very nice room and location of hotel.
Cons: Shower over bath could do with replacing as shower pressure was weak.

Pros: Bar meals brilliant good value for the money. Owner Tina. Brilliant
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food excellent,staff friendly.
Cons: Bed not very comfortable springs had gone in the mattress,so when getting out of bed made awful noise!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The single room I had was in a separate building at the back of the pub. There are 2 other rooms in the block. It was small, a tiny sink in the bathroom, a small stool with a small table to eat breakfast, which was ok if you like cornflakes! There is no choice for any other cereal. There was also an apple, orange, and a pastry. There is a small fridge for the milk for the cereal. There is a small garden and plenty of parking.
Cons: The tiny sink which had a shelf above it and so made it difficult to use, the small cheap stool and table to eat the breakfast plus the lack of choice of cereal.
6.8 Good
Pros: location
Cons: bathroom poorly designed and difficult to use.,cheap washed out bedding
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pods great fun Food available in pub good Hostess brilliant
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the DIY breakfast, there was plenty of choice & a nice little garden with tables & chairs to sit in which we used both mornings we were there.
7.5 Good
Cons: Accommodation turned out to be a brick building at the back of the pub. Lack of cooked breakfast - breakfast was a packet of cornflakes, crossant and fruit. Sink in bathroom difficult to use as the shelf prevented one from washing ones face. Lack of anywhere to sit except on bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: See above!
Cons: Absolutely perfect. Ideally based for exploring the area. Room was large (bathroom bigger than my one at home!), and supplies were generous and welcome. We pitched up in a particularly hot week, so fabulous to find a fan had been provided. Breakfast in the room proved very convenient. No setting the alarm for a work day to get down for breakfast at stupid o'clock in the morning! For me, this really added to the relaxed feel of the week. Bottles of water, fruit, cereal, milk, yoghurt and plenty of teas and coffees. Really left nothing to want for. Thanks for a lovely and memorable week. Will definitely be back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: First impressions of the property , "could be a bit smarter", BUT, once inside all was good, Firstly, the friendly staff (landlord and landlady), we were shown to a well equipped little apartment,(which was detached from the pub), with tea and coffee making facilities, a comfy bed and a nice roomy, powerful shower, later we were served a good ,tasty meal , and then some excellent evening entertainment (4 to the floor) performing mainly 60s music, we had a great night , breakfast was continental style (left in our room) and was quite ample to start the day off. All suited us just fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean. The area was very quiet and relaxing.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Food & drink good in a lively pub with a mix of locals and tourists. The room, in a garden cabin, was quiet & comfortable. Breakfast was a good portion of local produce. Our dog was welcomed, and made many new friends!
Cons: Nothing.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Staff we're friendly upon arrival.
Cons: Room was disappointing, poorly kept, and very dated. Probably worth about half the price paid.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was good close to Aldeburg, in a small village. Breakfast was very good with varied choice, cooked to order. Nice selection of Ales in an old English pub. Evening meal was also very good.
Cons: The shower had a little black mold around tray, which could be easily cleaned. No Hair Dryer.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic and arriving on the Thursday night with an open mic session in full swing was such an amazing bonus. The bar area was excellent and the breakfast lounge was equally excellent.
Cons: Our room was very comfortable and satisfied our needs but it was a little tired.
5.5 Okay
Cons: The rooms were not very clean. Cobwebs everywhere and grit on the floor. We had to ask for one room to be cleaned on arrival at 9.45pm. The TV in one room didn't work. The fire alarm went off shortly before 6am and everyone vacated their room. We all stood around outside in our pyjamas but no one came. It transpired that there was no one on site to help in an emergency like this and the emergency phone number given in the book didn't work. It cut out as soon as it started to ring. My family and the other guests decided to pack and leave at 7.10am. So, we had no chance to shower and no breakfast. And all the time the fire bells were ringing loudly. I think it's bad that there is no one on site at night and even worse that an emergency contact number doesn't work.
7.5 Good
Pros: Evening meal & breakfast
Cons: Need internet access
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, many choices, as were the evening meals we had in the pub. Very relaxing, villagey vibe. Great location in the countryside. Locals all charming. Would recommend for a relaxing few days away or as a base camp to explore Suffolk.
Cons: No hairdryer. Wifi not so good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Blaxhall is a bit 'back of beyond', but it was just right for my purposes. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the range of ales was excellent. It had a 'faded grandeur' that I really liked, and I met some interesting locals. My room was basic but clean, and had everything I needed, and was nice and quiet in the evenings, with a view over some productive Suffolk fields. Breakfasts were great. Suffolk English on the Wednesday. Kippers on the Thursday. Both were delicious and set me up for the day. (I can also recommend the 'Pizza Diavolo' in the evenings).
Cons: Nothing really. Apart from the bevy of flies. To be fair, the pub does face fields, so perhaps this comes with the territory.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, room for a night is perfect great breakfast and lovely friendly staff.
Cons: For basic accommodation - nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Food was really good. Breakfast well cooked and plentiful. Dinner good but tad expensive for saying it was a pub. Staff excellent, made to feel welcome. The separate chalets were a bonus but! Maybe the later built chalets were better didn't look.
Cons: Room really not good. Needs updating. Odd single beds, lumpy mattresses, furniture from secondhand store. Bathroom poor again needed updating even a new shower curtain would have been an improvement.
