The location of the hotel and the comfort and privacy of the hideaway rooms Nothing
Pleasant comfortable small hotel. Excellent furnishings in keeping with Victorian age of building
Hide away rooms are a brilliant design
The room was very tidy and we especailly liked the large comfy bed, fantastic views from the bay window and a great breakfast
Location, scenery, Friendly hospitallity, the unique style and setting of the hotel
The. cleanliness was first class, the breeakfast beautiful Nothing
Quiet and comfortable No telephone in the room
Lovely room and comfortable bed, helpful staff
The staff were all very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable
location, standard of facilities, service
The Hotel is in a great location and staff were really friendly and willing to assist. A minor point but a clearer explanation of the dining opportunities at the hotel to be provided to guests when they arrive. It could be cheaper and more convenient to eat in the bar (same menu) than the dining room.
Friendly, accommodating staff, very good food, lovely village. Very noisy central heating system at 6.30 am!
Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Real homely atmosphere and wonderful food.
Fantastic location and superb dining. None
The food in the bar, the excellent CH, the open fires and friendliness of the staff.
we have stayed here 5 times,it is like home from home...cosy,good food, friendly staff
The food served was to a very high standard and always well presented, the staff couldnt be more helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and well presented, rather small but adequate for the length of our stay at The Britannia Inn, would certainly return to this superb hotel.
The friendliness of the staff, the location, the food and the open fires! Noisy on the Friday night. No herb teas! No soap, shampoo in shower.
warm and friendly feel of a traditional inn with real fire in bar. Relaxed atmosphere . Near to glorious countryside and fabulous walking. everything was as expected for a cottage type Inn.
quaint and pleasant olde worlde pub/hotel in beautiful setting
. . Experienced ,along with other guests, the most rude and offensive watiress at breakfast that we have ever come accross.
We found the hotel in a very convenient position in Bowness. It also had a very lively bar with a great atmosphere, and a night club if you fancy. We were warned about the noise from the pub and club but never heard anything from our room. Breakfast was lovely. We will definately be visiting again. The room was lovely and airy, but i hate to say it, could have done with being a bit cleaner.
At least we had a roof over our heads. Even if it was a stags head! The hotel parking was a 200 metres away which very inconvenient as it was raining during our stay. Kettle had limescale and wasntw working. Bed side lamp wasnt working. I tried to call hotel staff but no one was available. The pub should have been closed by 2am and there were a few people making lots of noise near the entrances. Unfortunately my room was above the enterance.
The location There were four couples in our party and only one had a shower in their room, there was nothing mentioned about no showers, just that an on suite was in every room, this should be made more clear, knowing this we would have booked an alternative hotel.
its location no shower in room, got another room but it was next to extractor fan for kitchen so room smelt of chip fat. breakfast poor
needs an update
the way we were dealt with the staff.they were rude and unprofessional. one of our rooms smelled of stale fat from the kitchens. on booking were told we had a room with a bath and got one with a shower.
The helpful staff. No
location no shower
free access to the club needs an uplift, looked old. staff could be a bit more informative, tried to charge us £160 each when it was for 2 rooms. food was awful.
Staff were excellent Rooms were tired and needed a refresh and didn't like sharing a toiletQ
Good Location, Big bed, Parking. The guy serving breakfast is excellent very helpful, very informative. Expensive, typical Lake District prices.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served fast and well cooked. Very comfy bed too No shower, toilet not in best condition
Good food and excellant service Room decor and furniture rather tired. Good bed
staff were friendly rooms were shabby, crockery unwashed, didn't appear clean. Had to ask for drink provision in room. staff entered room for personal items during late evening without knocking, using key. Bar was in fact a dining room with no where to have a drink
nothing the room, the hotel
In town centre and had parking. Staff was not friendly Facilities wer below standard. No shower gel or soap in bathroom, single glazed, no shower, had only bath.
The food is out of this world, lovely shared bathrooms
Great location for the station. Good breakfast but I was a little too hung over to do it justice. I booked it but managed to give my friends the room with the 4 poster ;)
very close toamenitiesand shops Didnt really get a very personal welcome. When I complained about window of room letting all of the hallway light in, the lady did not seem interested in my complaint and said I should have turned the communial light off. Was not particularly impressed with the helpfulness of staff, I think B&B's and hotels should offer the highest of customer service.
