The BB staff was very welcoming; they booked for us the tickets for the Van Gogh museum; the house is really charming and cosy.
The garage for our car was rather expensive (45 € per day)
The location was great and I loved getting to see the inside of a well-maintained period canal-side house. Our room was beautifully decorated and the beds were extremely comfortable too.
I'm guessing sound-proofing wasn't a priority in when this house was constructed. We shared a floor with another couple and felt that both sides lost out on privacy (I snore really badly:) ). Also, I had read other reviews on booking.com about how there was no bathroom en suite. This bothered me more than I thought it would, especially since the bathroom was on the floor below where we were staying which wasn't so apparent from the website.
worst place, worst value per money, no comfort, dangerous & small stairs need to help by rope, high price for parking, very poor breakfest, no room cleaning, no towles change, no current cleaning of the shared toilets and bathroom
It is very likely that his high rate (over 8) is due to a "friends combination" , howver, 1 is much too much. The worst place since I begun travel abroad (in 1975).
Staff was excellent.
What a delightful hotel. Charming, olde worlde ambience, superb location and comfortable room. It was a real treat to be able to stay in one of the canal houses.
using the kitchenette sink to wash hands/face etc. However this was understandable due to the age of the building and was not a real problem, just different!
very disappointing. stayed in their 'luxury room' and had to share a bathroom, room not cleaned during stay
Friendly, helpful staff, excellent location close to the centre of town but on a quiet street. Very clean rooms with very good facilities. Good value for money. Very welcoming.
Great place to stay. We will definitely stay here when we return to Amsterdam.
We cant say enough good about B&B De Baronie. Tuhami was a great host and keeps a very nice clean home. The location is great and both our rooms had canal views. Beethoven was a very nice surprise, he is an awesome dog and very well behaved. We took breakfast on the day we left and it was great too.
We had a great room with the kitchen and dinning area. The hotel is located by a canal in the town center but still away from the noise. The room was very spacious and with the fresh roses. We had a great fresh breakfast.
The kitchen area is well equipped but no utensils to wash up, the room doors do not have locks because it's a listed building and it's against fire regulations, but saying that you feel safe. The private bathroom for which we paid extra £25 per night it's actually outside on the corridor but you don't have to share it with anyone else. Be aware of the extra charges on top of the room rate for Local tax about £6 per night and the breakfast £8.50.
