location, historical building with renovated rooms
Breakfast should definitely start at least at 7 in the morning. Having to wait on the door for breakfast until 8 is not ideal
Beautiful palace, confortable rooms, good breakfast, very frienly personel
Its a nice and quiet hotel for a weekend retreat.
The hotel is fabulous and has a lot of potential but the inexperienced staff (or poorly trained) who do not pay attention to small details do not allow it to reach its full potential.
The young lady on reception had NO customer service skills nor did the maitre D in the restaraunt. The food was good almost gourmet but the presentation, lack of vegetables and service down graded it. The champagne we ordered arrived in our room at 11.30
It's a very beautiful building, with lots of old details still visible. Dinner was a 5* experience, my compliments to the waiters and chef. The indoor swimming pool and spa facilities were very nice as the outdoor one was already closed when we stayed there.
The wooden floors made it noisy; you could hear the upstairs neighbour walk around and you would hear people passing by in the hallway. The indoor spa facilities could be improved by providing things like scrub salt and turning on all the facilities (sauna) during opening hours. Dinner wasn't only a 5* experience in service, but unfortunately also in price, compared to regular portuguese restaurants.
Imposing hotel which has kept many of its early 20C features but provides modern standards of comfort in rooms and spa.
Hotel is obviously dependent on business conferences at this time of year (autumn). Pity the lido is no longer in use - perhaps seasonal?
I loved the food, it was excellent . The wine also was very good
i didn't like the service and the pool closed
Fabulous place-a dream would love to return
The setting is extremely good and the project to refurbish the hotel has been a great success.
Nice hotel, recently refurbished, now with modern room amenities but having maintained the historical spirit of the public spaces
It was empty ... no athmosphere. Probably only a few (less than 10, I would think) rooms occupied.
