Nice hotel, good parking and connections, close to center. Some noise from road work, but nothing that the hotel could do about...
Staff were very good and attentive to all details. All instructions were in German--how to arrange for a wake up call; the directions on the coffee machine in my room. I cannot read German. Staff were always polite and helpful, but some of these I could have done easily for myself. I also wish that there had been a small sundries store for magazines, water, and other small things to purchase.
The reception staff were always pleasant and helpful. The room was basic but very nice and clean. Small things like extractor fan in shower room not working. Ice machine provided but not working.
The hotel is very close to the city centre and only 36 miles from the Nurburgring
Staff where very curtious, rooms where clean and the location was perfect.
very efficient and friendly staff overall, empathy for guest, swift service
The staff was extremely friendly and professional. I am regularly at Hilton hotels, but I was really struck by the friendliness of the staff.
the facillities no
Well run and comfortable hotel The proce was a little high but this may reflect the fact that the hotel was full.
The Kameha is an overall good hotel for business travelers, clean, fast, free internet access and spacious rooms. I have been coming here for a while and under a previous management service was a bit ostentatious. This has improved under the new management significantly and one feels honestly welcome now. I don't care for the beds. The mattresses could be more comfortable and I wish they would offer down pillows instead of the ones with artificial filling. I also wish the Rhine River bar would open again as the hotel lags a welcoming place to have a drink at the end of a hard working day.
What a stunning place !. We stayed here on the last night of a tour round Germany as a treat to ourselfs & what a treat. This has to be one of the best hotels anywhere. Ultra modern with the finest of decor, superb staff & facilities we were blown away by the whole experience. We were given a free upgrade which was unexpected & treated so well by the staff who advised us on every thing from city siteseeing, local restaraunts (they do have there own) to the best way to get around. It may not be the cheapest of hotels by a long way but you most certainly get what you pay for. If you want to spoil yourself (just the once) then see if you can get an offer on a stay at kameha grand, you wont be dissapionted !. Parking should be free of charge considering what you pay for a room but it seems you pay everywhere in Germany for hotel parking.
well... the hotel itself is impresive from outside but the designers probably do not know the psychology.... e.g. red color corridors ... it is good for one day but after 3 days I was very depressed
beautiful rooms and hotel design, helpful staff, great breakfast parking is expensive - parking yourself is more than valet
The hotel staff r just amazing.. And I really loved the hotel design.. Refreshing..
the design; staff were very helpful & the food was delicious. The all red decoration in the corridors was too oppressive.
Incredible location in a luxurious hotel. Spacy and comfortable rooms.
It was rainy when I arrived at 8 PM so I can get to see beautiful scenery along the River Rheine until the next morning for breakfast. Worth it! My room is clean and quiet which is most important for me.
The hotel gardens are used for late night functions. The rooms adjacent to the gardens are not soundproofed and amplified music into the early hours is hardly conducive to a good night's rest and definitely not within keeping of a hotel with the reputation of the Dreesen. A written complaint was filed during my stay. Unless the situation is rectified, it would be difficult to make a recommendation
Its staff. Also it's fine, elegant and has an excellent location. No.
Like the remote location on the Rhine, great staff, unique hotel, my choice when traveling in this part of Germany.
Free minibar! Excellent views of the Rhein, nice people. The hotel is getting old, and I think the prices are a bit too high for what it is.
everything about this hotel was just excellant from the arrival to departure and upgrade also champ. because it was our anniversary, evening meal and breakfast 1st class no but the was no internet connections and I think that this is important when travelling but did not cause us hardship
The ease we came off the Koln Dusseldorfer boat and walked there. We could also walk to the ferry link to Konigswinter and loved the trip up the Drachenfels. This was part of our rail trip across German historical towns like Koln and Aachen. Hotel view over Rhine was gorgeous. Very easy for Rhine cruising. n/a
The view - right on the Rhine.
The location of room is amazing. In the city center. Our room was in front of railway station. So you can hear the trains and the announcement.
staff helpful and nice, convenient location (next to train station), wonderful breakfast, bright and comfortable room and bed. extremely slooooooow wifi, otherwise option to upgrade to faster wifi unreasonably expensive.
Very nice facility and close to many sites in the city. Clean, comfortable room.
The location super close to the city and the main train station is perfect, especially if you need to travel to "Messe Koeln" (within 30min). The rooms are rather big and clean. Breakfast is fresh and offers a lot. Pretty warm rooms. Opening a window is not an option due to the noise of the train station. The taste of the coffee was not hot and not very tasty. Even with only few people having breakfast we had to ask for coffee severals times. All in all the staff was moderate polite but nothing more. Parking in the hotel is very expansive and the free wifi is only working in slow motion.
Room, location Not enough towels in the bathroom. Soap and shampoo would have been nice.
Very quiet location. Nice large room. Near Museum Mile. Small market nearby. Nice underground garage. Terrific breakfast. Very good restaurant at the hotel. No room service for late dinner. Not near town center. No restaurants nearby. No food available after 22:00.
Everything was perfect! The staff professionality, the big room, the large breakfast, the cleaning and the peaceful, the restaurant's food... May be a bit to expensive the parking (12,5euro)... but...
It was luxurious, beautiful, well-maintained, and more than I was expecting when I booked. I am happy with my stay at Derag Hotel. Internet very expensive. But it's an extra, so.
Staff were very friendly and helpful - always greeted with a smile. The room was clean and comfortable. A trvial thing, but the in-room coffee-tea + min-bar facilities were poorly stocked and not replenished from day to day. Got a bit annoying having to constantly go to reception to get a tea bag :)
great breakfast, clean and modern room for some reason, the elevator that goes to my floor is located at the back end of hotel and i had to wake quite far with 3 pieces of luggages to get to that elevator
Great Staff, very friendly and professional. Knew the Bonn area well. Hotel very clean and well kept.
Just 1 word: wonderfull
the stuff was very friendly, the rooms were comfortable the spa is good fu, the restaurant was very good i needed to stay in that area anyway which is a bit of center, so for me the location was perfect. the restaurant is closed on sunday. and there are no other options within a short walking distance. (we ordered takeaway, with the help of the receptionist :-))
Very nice, imaginatively well equipped rooms for business and leisure. Good location. Excellent breakfast.
friendliness of staff and their sense of initiative. Great location! There is only one entry /exit for hotel guests and parties . When party busses line up one cannot get into the hotel and this creates problems
This hotel is still used for international conferences and has facilities accordingly. It is situated on a hill overlooking the Rhine and the rooms are large and high. Excellent place! I don't know why up-market hotels have to charge a fortune for Wi-Fi, when others with fewer stars supply it for free. They wanted 22EUR per day, we declined.
Beautiful view and a lot of history.
Clean, great staff, great food and service. Fantastic view Crazy road to hotel
Wow this is a beautiful hotel! Fantastic room, amazing outlook, excellent restaurant and breakfast, friendly heplful staff. We loved our stay here only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fantastic facitities more. There's also a lot to see and do in and around the pretty town of Konigswinter.
The Petersberg Gasthof is an historical Castle. It hosted the Allied Government at the end of the World War. Then the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn arranged international events and dinner there. Foreign Ministers used to be guests at the Grand Hotel. Unfortunately, after the capital moved to Berlin, the Castle lost such grand allure but it is still luxurious. It has nice suites filled with antiques. One can enjoy an astonishig view of the Rhine Valley while drinking a Riesling on the terrace or having dinner at the restaurant.
The service, excellent views, great food, relaxing atmosphere, really enjoyed the swimming pool, excellent all round!!
The view from their Rhein terasse was super. The surroundings are beautiful and the town of Konigswinter is near. I had first booked a single room. That was depressingly small and grey. I changed to a double which was only 20 euro's more and it was huge and spacious.
Everything was perfect, really nice staff, it worths the price. I strongle recommend it.
Fantastic historic location, on top of a hill in a beautiful park away from the crowd, and still within 20 minutes drive from the main business and attraction area's near Bonn. Ideal for travellers by car. Good facilities, very spacious standard rooms, nice SPA area. Great breakfast. A little disappointed about the small old TV set in the room. Would expect a larger flat screen TV in such a 5 star hotel facility.
Quality of the food and helpful staff cleanliness of the toilet was below standard
Nice environment, very friendly and helpful personnel
large and very convenient suite, high value for money, good restaurant, nice service. Very good business hotel. High additional charge for breakfast.
I was upgraded to a suite! Restaurant excellent value for money. Close to German ministries where I had a meeting
Very good location for visiting our customer; spacious room Not so good location for dining out in the evening! Overpriced breakfast (17 eur regardless of what you are)
The pool was very good and the breakfast excellent. The staff were very helpful There was no shop where you could buy small necessities, only shaving cream and toothpaste. And the hotel was a long way from any shopping area. The business room (the internet) was often full. It was also very expensive at €15 an hour.
Excellent location Questionable Green Label - water wasting showers. Rooms and especially. bathrooms show age cracks and discolouring.
Unexpected upgrade - very nice as I had to spend a lot of time in my room working. Thank you!
Very Good stay, The staff were very helpful and the location was easy to get to. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bonn
Pleasant, friendly staff 1. The golf range was accessible only by asking for the bellboy to go up with the key 2. Service in the main restaurant was very slow, even when quiet.
The range of facilities and helpfulness of staff made this an enjoyable visit
The hotel was located conveniently to where my meetings were held with excellent access to nearby transit stations. Although conveniently located in an office complex, the hotel is not within walking distance to tourist attractions, restaurants, shopping, etc..
The service at the hotel is first class. Excellent breakfast options and outstanding restaurant. The views from the breakfast/ restaurant terrace is unbelievable. Well located to get to the city or public transport. The room I was given was extremely small and overlooking the driveway. A problem if you have a long stay like I did of two weeks.
I loved the location on the rhine. My room was not made for my second night stay since they did not complete the room by 3:30 when I came back to my room and after that I went out at about 4:30 and I suppose it was too late for housekeeping - so my bed wasn't made, my towels were changed etc.
It was excellent throughout. The breakfast on the terrace is an ideal way to start the day. It was one of my best hotel experiences ever.
Great location; quiet and comfortable, and just a few minutes from the city centre. Staff helpful and pleasant.
Excellent ,friendly service
Very peaceful with views of the river Rhine. Good food in restaurant.
The breakfast was really good (as all breakfasts in Germany), the room was clean and modern The hotel is situated on the Rein river and not far from center, but to reach it in the evening is rather dangerous and scary, as there is park, where are no people and lights. There is no free wi-fi in rooms, in the lobby there is a computer but you need to give the receptionist your credit card or passport to use this computer maximum for one hour. The hotel has restaurant but it is always booked, so if you are staying at the hotel, it's not possible to have a lunch or dinner there, the receptionist woman recommended to go to another restaurant about 20-25 minutes away and didn't mention that there is a room food service.... The windows face either the park or river and it's very noisy outside: songs, loud music...
Spaciousness of the room and the interior decoration - fantastic The structural noise - you could not help but hear everything, and there was a constant rumbrling noise. In the morning this was accompanied by a consistent knocking noise. Despite this the experience was fantastic - my wife shares the same opinion
Location - on the river, and very close to hotel One of our party for dinner did not receive what they ordered, but the staff made us feel it was our fault and could have been more gracious and customer focused. This was the only bad experience with the hotel staff, otherwise they were excellent.
The room and bathroom were very nice No.
No obvious faults.
Nothing really You have to pay for everything...wireless, parking. hall ceilings are only 7 ft. high...Lobby was crowded with chairs. price was high without even breakfast.
Location, view, breakfast. We also had a very good evening meal in the hotel restaurant.
The staff were particularly helpful.
The hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere, the staff was extremely courteous and quick to serve The only thing that was pleasing to me were the pillows weren't plush enough; everyday I had a cramp in my neck from the night's sleep; even if I doubled the pillows
Friendleness and service of staff
Had a lovely adn calm stay with dinner on their balcony facing the river - delicious food and attentive staff - room was very comfortable and well equipped.
Large room with river view, separate living area as well as bedroom & bathroom. Car park secure and large. Staff helpful, swimming pool and fitness complex very clean and great to use. Good location for the town. Our room either wasn't cleaned on our second day or wasn't cleaned well - towels were replaced but that was it. This we reported to staff as we came to leave. One of the bars was closed throughout our stay.
Nice hotel in quiet Konigswinter, in lovely riverbank setting. Good access to Bonn.
Friendly staff, nice room, great breakfast, perfect location in Bonn.
services, staff, comfort none
The friendly and efficient staff...and the breakfasts!!
The location is perfect, staff are very friendly and breakfast quite abundant! Maybe the price is a bit too high, but the service is great
Location Lack of ironing facilities
Great location, the hotel is old but classy in its own way. The staff was exelent.
Very nice city, most attractive hotel with an interesting past, excellent helpful staff. Outside the window there was a noise of glass recycling being moved early on Saturday morning - but only slight.
Old hotel right in the centre of Bonn, but renovated rooms which in the end make it pretty anodine. Decent, with decent service, but far too expensive.
The location was fantastic and the rooms were very nice. The breakfast was a great spread of fruits, eggs, breads and cereals. My one complaint is they gave one login for the wifi so I could only connect one device and it was pretty slow. You could spend more for the premium wifi.
Cleanliness and position of hotel; kindness of hotel staff
The breakfast is really nice, fresh and rich. Location, completely in pedestrian centre of Bonn is great. I did not like the single bed, it is too small. Generally beds are too hard. ( I tried a single and a twin room). The room 208 has a very weird architecture. The shower is located directly in the entrance and the tub in the room.... The room has been renovated recently though.
This is a very nice hotel in the suburbs of Bonn, but with plenty of green fields and woodland around giving a feeling of the countryside -- fruit stall at the end of the road. Good underground car parking. Complimentary mini-bar. Very helpful front staff. Nearby bus stop for town (or one-hour walk). Excellent hot and cold breakfast, but expensive and not included in our room rate. Inconvenient sauna times --- doesn't open until 6.30pm. Restaurant closed on the evening of our arrival (7pm on a Thursday).
The location, on top of a hill to the south of Bonn, is superb. Rooms are comfortable and the whole place is in an area of natural beauty (woods). There are two restaurants. The Brasserie is excellent. I thought the L ORQUIVIT restaurant, while offering a creative menu, was overpriced. The hotel is well out of walking distance from Bonn (you climb a hill to get there) so its best suited to those with a car (free parking) or deep pockets for a taxi. I had business on the South side of Bonn and was able to get there easily without getting into the traffic jams.
all - and soft pillows
Location quiet & picturesque. From some viewpoints in Hotel you could see down into the valley below. Breakfast @ 20 euros per head per day not included in cost, however happy with selection of food available
Nice location No hot water from midnight the second night and the next morning until checkout. My wife and I both had to take cold showers/baths. When I mentioned it to the clerk at the desk - she mearly wrote it down on a piece of paper (took no ownership of the problem).
The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. They provided all sorts of information, transport schedule, activity list, mobile card activation, etc. The location was pretty nice, quite convenient to go into Bonn city centre (direct bus of 18 minutes), but it's also near the nature with nature walks around. As it's located in the countryside (or nearer to nature), it wasn't such a good idea to open the windows during the night, as there were huge insects coming into the room. But the hotel staff was quick to respond.
Wonderful hotel in a nice wooded area. Great walks in the forest. 20 min walk into town, reasonably frequent bus service. Considering how little an internet connection costs, there is no excuse for not having free wifi. The hotel restuarant very expensive, no cheaper food options.
the location in general no fitness and SPA area could have been better
nice staff, nice location, very flexible about checking in times which was much appreciated cleaning trolleys were left in the hall outside my suite for the whole weekend, there was also a bad smell in the hall outside my suite
My stay at all Room was a bit dark
Self check in was really good. It calls B&B but the breakfast was not included in the price, we had to pay 7 per person for a very basic breakfast, I think they can better the food selection and quality. The kids were not happy with the breakfast so we had to go somewhere else.
service/ location no hair dryer
Very spacious, excellent breakfast.
The place is modern, quiet, and ample. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and with nice views of either the garden or the street. The bathroom is very big. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the central train/subway station, which his very handy. As an incentive for business travelers, the hotel manager should buy more iron and iron boards, since there are very few there. As a tourist I wouldn't need them, but as a business traveler, they are very useful.
spacious room, friendly and informative staff, convenient location, excellent breakfast
Spacious rooms; very clean; contemporary and essential furniture; hi-def tv; spacious bathroom; and spacious dining room. Part of the hotel is a former Seminar, which blends very well with an adjacent modern building, where many of the rooms are located. From the street entrance to the lobby you have to climb a few steps. It would be helpful to have a ramp, or a lift, specially when you carry your luggage.
Very close to the train station, yet quiet enough that you only hear the train wheels as they pass. Walking distance to services and Bonn attractions. Buffet breakfast had good selection for varied diets. Maybe the basement bar area is in need of updating / renovation?
The breakfast was superb. The location suited us perfectly as we travelled by train. Very comfortable room and bed. I liked the No smoking rooms I did not like people smoking in the Lobby area. It spoilt the atmosphere of an otherwise great Hotel.
The location is unbeatable; right next to the train station. The staff was very correct and customer service oriented. Nice (hard, I like that) beds and decent breakfast. The interior seems a bit tired, the TV had only 1 English channel, and the heating wasn't working very well. These are all minor points. What is extremely important to notice, and other travelers have mentioned this as well, is that the sound proofing (which the hotel states on its website) only refers to the inside of the hotel. Sounds from outside, including but not limited to trains, can be heard quite easily, even on the fifth floor looking onto the street.
Clean and comfortable rooms Housekeeping service started at 8:30 am on the weekend, too early and annoying. Satellite TV channels included only one in English and none in French.
Sauna Parking costs extra 13 Euro per nignt
Location We booked a double room. But it was a twin room.
All aspects of the hotel were good! If I was to look for something that may be improved it would be that breakfast finishes at 10:30 and when coming at 10:00am you may find that the choice is limited and thingd are being put away. However, this is looking for an item to be critical about.
Excellent location, almost next to the train station and within walking distance to the city centre. Good breakfast choice. The smell of smoke in my room and in the area between the elevators and the restaurant where there would always be smokers. Many TV channels, but only one in English and newspapers at breakfast German only. Just one internet computer, for which they charged 12 times the price of the local internet cafes. If you are a German speaking smoker, go there. If not, give it a miss.
A comfortable and peaceful hotel very close to hauptbahnhof and the bus station. Having breakfasts by a nice garden view with a friendly staff.
The bed was incredibly comfortable. The pool facility was clean and much appreciated (used daily). A computer with internet access was available in for extra charge. The location was superb; frankly, you cannot beat the location given access to public transportation. I walked from the train station to the hotel with luggage, which was no problem at all and gave me an immediate feel for the area. No.
The Kranz Parkhotel is a typical German mid-range hotel located near to the centre of Siegburg. The ICE/S-Bahn station at Siegburg-Bonn is within 10 minutes easy walk with light luggage or a short taxi ride with more. This makes it a reasonable option for visiting cities such as Cologne (10-30mins by train depending on service) and a much more economical location at times of peak demand such as major exhibitions. The ICE line runs to Frankfurt airport in the other direction (40mins) and there are local trains to Bonn and other Rhine cities. The hotel is clean and friendly, with a good quality breakfast buffet. I would certainly stay here again.
Our room was spacious with a very comfortable large bed. The ensuite had both a bath and separate shower cubicle and two sinks. The breakfast buffet was excellent with an extensive range of both hot and cold food available. The staff were very polite and helpful. We will use this hotel again and recommend it to friends.
cleanliness, courtesy, efficiency
I have stayed at this hotel several times, and would recommend it. The restaurant is excellent and the breakfast offers a range of cooked or cold food suitable for all tastes. The cocktail bar is a pleasant way to unwind after a day shopping.
Limited breakfast, not enough pillows
Beautiful room...spacious and lovely bathroom. The staff in restaurant was wonderful. Quiet room for comfortable sleep. Poor lighting and access at the rear of hotel to where we had our car parked. I fell when I couldn't see a step in the dark when exiting to the car. I'm sure most people wouldn't have that happen...but I was pushing luggage and just didn't see it in the dark.
Location, Parking options meaning public parking next to hotel at 2,50 per day is good. Good competent desk staff. Breakfast not up to standard of hotel.
It is a typical congress hotel, laying at an important interjunction of railways and highways. It strikes me that it is very quiet in the room. Travelling with the U-bahn to Bonn is convenient, but it takes a while.
The staff were nice. The room was spacious. Internet connection is not free but charged.
Clean and spacious room. I had the double room. Location excellent only 10 minutes walk from the train station.
Nice hotel in pretty German town. Beautiful terrace overlooking the Rhine. Comfortable rooms. There was a wedding, which occupied almost the entire hotel. We could not use the terrace. It was not possible to have dinner in the hotel, which had not been told at check-in. The next morning, we were not allowed to have breakfast in the nice restaurant. Instead, we had to move to a cramped room together with the wedding-guests.
Very friendly and helpful staff, comfort and quietness of room, location in old centre of Unkel overlooking the Rhine
This is a super hotel in very charming village and beautiful part of Germany. We were very impressed by the decor, all extremely well designed, the colours perfectly matching and the finish was increadible. We travelled around the world for many years but have never before seen a hotel where everything was so perfect and yet so pleasing and homely at the same time. Very impressive indeed and much recommended.
It is a lovely situation and the village is really great. Nice for walks along the Rhine. There is a really awesome, family run restaurant n th village where they serve their local wines and cheese and sausage platters. We ate there both nights we were in Unkel. When we checked in the receptionist was not very friendly. Also, when you book, you have to pay in advance and it is not refundable should you have to cancel for any reason.
Good breakfast Problem getting to the hotel by car through Unkel
