Due to extensive flight delays we missed the first night of our reservation at St. George and did not arrive in Athens until 6AM. However, we forgot all about our troubles almost immediately after checking into this superb hotel. 1. Without even telling us they upgraded our room to the front side of the hotel which had absolutely incredible views of the Acropolis from our balcony. While it wasn't a large room (they never are in Europe!), it was clean, the bed was great, and the bathroom was perfectly OK. 2. Despite our exhaustion, we dragged ourselves out of bed just in time to catch breakfast. Went up to the 6th floor and was blown away by the 360 views of Athens. We asked if we could just grab a plate of food from the buffet (delicious selection) and take it back down to our room. Not only did they say yes, but they had someone carry our food down to the room ON A SILVER PLATTER. No jokes. Also, without even asking for it they sent with a hot carafe of coffee with STEAMED MILK. 3. On the last leg of our trip, coming back from an island, we had 12 hours to kill in Athens before heading to the airport. Despite no longer being guests for over 7 days they graciously stored our bags and let us hang out at the roof pool until we had to leave. WHAT. 4. Oh, and the pool is like a dream. Gorgeous pool with gorgeous Athens view with lounge chairs and great music. Happy hour is from 7-9 offering 6 euro cocktails. The neighborhood this hotel is in is really great and completely safe as it is where all the embassies are located. Since it's on a hill be prepared to climb! It is worth it as there are very charming buildings, great cafes, shops, and restaurants. You can be in Kolonaki (walking) in 15-20 minutes. There is a metro stop 7 blocks away that goes directly to the airport. WHY WOULD YOU STAY ANYWHERE ELSE? I know I won't be.... Thank you St. George! You made our trip.
Most of the staff was helpful and friendly with only a couple exceptions. Located in a safer/nice side of town that is much more quiet. Atm and money exchange available. Nice pool area and great pool staff but not enough sun chairs/space.
The spa wasn't open for all of my four day stay except for one day. The one day they were open they only had massage capabilities available (ie no facials or nail treatments etc) so I went ahead and booked a massage with the only therapist available. I found the male massage therapist to be a bit unprofessional and the massage was oddly touchy. For example it seemed like he was trying to rub his body on the sides of mine while giving my massage. The breakfast buffet is 22 euros and a lot of the food was cold including meat and eggs which is dangerous! All food at this hotel is pretty over priced. No hot tub as advertised? Dirty/moldy between bathroom tiles. If they call a taxi for you the ride is 3 euros more expensive
The hotel was tired. The room and bathroom were not clean. This is not a five star hotel as described by travel sites. The power in the hotel failed in the middle of the night & we had no AC, emergency lighting came on, which is what we woke to at 3am. The house phone was ignored when I attempted to call the front desk to clarify the situation. I called from my mobile & was told 'this happens all the time'. An appalling 'hotel'.
The rooms are very small and this was uncomfortable
Very helpful and friendly staff, they were attentive to all our needs and requests. Excellent view of the Acropolis and overall Athens. The restaurant-bar at the top floor is also a wonderful place for dinner or a drink.
The boutique room (suite) is very overpriced. Small for its price, and without any distinctive features, apart from the balcony with the beautiful view.
Nice view from bar / restaurant
Very disappointed. No way is this a 5 star hotel. Spa, Sauna, swimming pool etc. close on Marathon weekend. Couldn't care less attitude from staff.
Proximity was very good as I like this area of city.
Wish they had heated pool.
The hotel is great, very modern and rooms have a lot of space. The bathroom has a jacuzzi and a shower with many shower options. The bed is very large and confortable. The restaurant on the roof is so wonderful and has a very nice view. Staff has been very kind to us, helping with our luggage that didnt arrive. The relation cost/benefit is perfect.
Situation and nothing else
Very small pool, non-smoking rooms just smoking rooms with apple scent sprayed, tired decoration, lack of porters. Living on its name. Avoid.
great deco, lovely bar and the resturant food was excellent
the sound proofing in the room was very poor and you can hear people's conversation from the corridors.
the good, quiet and very central location..+ exceptional view on the Acropolis
good hotel good location good price
