Built in 1652 the King s Arms is a Grade II listed coaching inn with accomodation. Originally leased from the Beaufort family in 1745 at a rate of sixpence per annum for one thousand years. It is located just in Didmarton just at the edge of the Badminton estate and just two miles from the Westonbirt Arboretum. Combining modern comfort with rustic elegance each of our cottage-style bed and breakfast rooms have their own individual character. Named after the prize-winning hounds from the nearby Beaufort Hunt each room includes sumptuous features such as king-size beds ivory sheepskin rugs and luxurious Feather and Black mattresses and duvets which altogether ensure a relaxing and comfortable night s slumber. All rooms feature wood furniture antique dressing tables a flat- screen TV a tea and coffee tray and complimentary Bramley toiletries. Once the stables of the original King s Arms in the 17th century our two spacious self-catering cottages are ideal for families and larger parties looking for their own private Costwolds hideway. The cottages have been carefully appointed with dark wooden beams claw-foot bathtubs and brown leather sofas. As a true countryside pub we also serve delicious British cuisine using the best seasonal and locally sourced produce. Our menu offers a wonderful range of dishes to satisfy every palette. Daily specials are handwritten on a blackboard and are cleverly complimented with a selection of lighter snacks. Set menus are also available.
