Pros: Delicious breakfast with home made yoghurt and fruit and free range eggs. we appreciated that butter, milk, sugar etc. were served in small jugs, bowls and not in plastic packaging. Big thankyou for that! A lovely garden to sit out in.
Cons: No milk provided with coffee making facility.
Pros: Arrived late, but staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good local ales and a great breakfast in the morning
Cons: My bathroom could have done with some cosmetic fixes, but it was still very clean
Pros: Friendly helpful staff and the cottage was very comfortable
Cons: If anything the cobwebs. But then again it is a cottage. !
Pros: Diner was delicious I had the 'Specials' Pea and Bean Tortellini with a Buttery Sauce followed by the Elderflower and Gooseberry Trifle. Breakfast of Scambled Eggs on Toast was deliciously light and creamy . My room was a Twin in the Cottage, a sumptuous, comfortable bed along with natural bedding (I am used luxurious Wool bedding) and the room was cosy with a 'Chesterfield' type sofa. An excellent stay I will be staying again.
Cons: I believe Kettles are being puchased as I could not work the coffee machine. The paintwork was a little dark for my liking.
Pros: Room exceptional and breahfast outstanding. Good start to the day
Cons: Getting there road not well maitained
Pros: The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to help me resolve a problem involving some lost bags.
Cons: Coffee pot, shampoo and conditioner in the rooms would have been awesome!
Pros: The breakfast was delicious would have liked a choice of fresh fruit. The staff were very helpful and check-in was easy, liked we were offered fresh milk straight away to take to the room.In the evening we asked for milk and he said ill get a fresh pint straight from the fridge. The room was very good, plenty of hot water, good towels, nice toiletries
Pros: very good friendly hosts
Pros: Food and Breakfast was excellence. Very comfy beds.
Pros: Very friendly staff, lovely outside space & excellent food.
Cons: The decor. Very dark walls, furniture & carpets, even the bathroom. Rooms too small to be dark, needs to be light!
Pros: Excellent food and cosy bar with log fire. Warm comfortable room.
Cons: The constant traffic noise started at 4am which was surprising given its location but apparently the village is on a 'rat run'.
Pros: Great breakfast!
Pros: Very friendly staff, beautiful old coaching inn (and yes, has got some low ceilings which feature bumper pads), period decoration, but modern bathrooms
Cons: Shower was not quite powerful enough
Pros: The location was very nice, with very nice old country style pub feel with a big burning log fire. The restaurant was very nice as well.
Cons: We asked for pepper sauce with our meal it did not come until we were well into our stakes, then they tried to charge us 50p extra for it!
Pros: Superb value - we enjoyed a very good meal in the evening.
Pros: Well decorated and food was good.
Cons: Outrageous interpretation of cancellation of our first night that Wednesday afternoon for Friday night did not constitute 2 days notice as required - we were told it would need to be Tuesday!!! Due to the popularity of dining we had trouble getting a car park. Went to the bar at 5 past 11 and were told we couldn't get a drink, even as a house guest, as last orders were at 11pm. Breakfast not available on a Sunday morning until 8:30am.
Pros: good food
Pros: Staff very friendly accommodation of a good standard
Pros: Atmosphere welcome and very quiet place
Pros: Lovely location, interesting old building, good atmosphere in the bar, good restaurant menu
Cons: A later breakfast on a Saturday would have been welcome
This charming 17th century inn is full of historic character furnished with oak panelling and boasting open fires and flagstone floors.
Pros: The proprietor, Dom or Don, was absolutely lovely. Such a helpful, friendly and an amazing conversationalist. He's worth any negatives about the hotel, even though I was traveling alone he made me feel I was among friends. Plus, the weather wasn't great during my stay, but the large garden surrounds would be amazing on a hot sunny day with a pint of the hotel bars finest local ale to hand. Great breakfast by the way.
Cons: Road noise from main road by the hotel. Toilet needed maintanance on a leaking valve and therefore kept topping its cistern up through the night, quite noisily at that. No tea or coffee sachets left in room on arrival, biscuits left but only on first night. This is a personal choice, but I'd of preferred some quiet music during breakfast. I always feel your forced to whisper when morning rooms are as quiet as a library. Backgorund noise, from a radio perhaps, is always good at creating a relaxing environment to eat and not be heard, while chomping away at your crunchy toast and marmalade.
Pros: Lovely location, nice and clean, lovely room and restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely grounds with childrens play area.
Pros: Great breakfast and evening meal, lovely cosy bar area and dining room. Room was spacious with comfortable beds and good size en-suite. Bottled water available in the room along with a lovely tea tray. Plugs in good location for mirror etc. Very friendly staff .
Cons: Nothing really.
Pros: Beautiful building
Cons: Shower needs to be more powerful.
Pros: Lovely hotel, great family room and good value for money. We ate dinner there as well - good children’s menu and enjoyed our meals. Very close to westernbirt arboretum and only half an hour from Cirencester.
Pros: A historic house with a very comfortable room and lovely grounds. The host made us very welcome , even our little Shih Tzu Max. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to enjoy dinner on the terrace and breakfast in the bar area. We loved the famous author themed rooms and the books in the room were a lovely touch.
Pros: The location and character are ideal, the service is friendly and the food was delicious The Room I had was lovely and spacious with patio doors to the lovely lawn area.
Cons: I felt the cleaning could have been a bit better as there was debris under the bed, and the bathroom floor was very sticky.
Pros: good food
Pros: Room was nice and private.

Pros: Lovely place and very quaint. Friendly staff
Cons: Some of upstairs was a bit dated, carpet and wood panels but that was my only negative
Pros: Welcoming staff, clean rooms.
Cons: Decor was a little gloomy. Room was warm but the corridors were quite cold
Pros: Staff were very friendly and cheerful. Good service in the bar. Quick checkout.
Cons: Room was dated with dated bathroom. Shower was powerful yet quite noisy. Room was positioned so it had noise from other guests passing and using the stairs. No noise proofing on door and the gap around it enabled passing noises to be clearly heard. Bed was very firm and pillows uncomfortable as lumpy and obviously well used. lDid not try the food so cannot comment on that.
Pros: Good value for money, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Old, old , old. Desperately needs updating.
Pros: The chap on reception was friendly
Cons: Over priced, dated and not clean. The toilet wouldn’t flush and the room had a stale smell. The floor hadn’t seen a vacuum cleaner in quite a while too. In fact we decided to drive home instead of staying the night. We arrived back at the hotel at 1055 after a concert at Westonbirt and the bar was already closed and reception was unmanned until 8am the following morning. Had it been £65 I’d have taken a different view but not at £125.10 for room only.
Cons: Lovely clean and comfortable room, friendly staff and lovely evening meal. Perfect location for visiting Bristol.
Cons: The hotel is in a very poor order it looks lije its never been updated since the 1980,s How can best western promote this hotel
Pros: Comfortable bed. Convenient location. Good to return to after a night out.
Cons: Slightly dated & slightly overpriced for what one gets
Pros: Comfortable room
Cons: Expensive and didn't even include breakfast that was overpriced at £7 for a continental and £13 for a full
Pros: The Hotel staff made us so welcome. Great parking & a lovely location.
