Pros: Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Our luggage was delayed by Aerlingus/Stoddart. People at hotel went out of their way to help and gave us toiletries. Great breakfast too! Wish we had time to stay longer. Everything was just great. First class facilities, meals and services.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfectly suitable and a great welcome to Ireland. Top atmosphere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My arrival time was delayed and I rang ahead to advise of this. The hotel prepared food and kept it for my late arrival. Food was excellent. Lovely room, cleanliness excellent. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
Cons: I was stuck as the choice of hotels in Longford is poor. So, I stayed at Keenan's. Costs were 25% too high, however the quality was excellent.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location beautiful beside the River Shannon. Restaurant was buzzing and the food delicious. Couldn't figure out why the garden area was closed off, on such a beautiful sunny evening.
Cons: The bathroom is fitted out for disabled users. Hence the mirror is too low, when drying your hair and the shower head too low as we are very tall ! The shower is a wet room as it is custom built for disability which is wonderful but the water was making it's way to the carpet so I put a towel against the door. A disability bathroom is a unique selling point for the hotel and I think it should be better highlighted when booking a room. We booked a deluxe room at €135 WITHOUT breakfast and were so disappointed to be on the ground level beside the pathway where all hotel patrons had to walk past to get to their cars and people walking by the riverside could see through the window unless you kept the net curtains closed... but then you cannot see the river view you had paid extra for. Would have been much nicer to have the rooms UPSTAIRS as privacy guaranteed and would have felt more like the deluxe room pictured in the website.

When going on several long journeys during the days the hostesses gave us fruit for our journey. They cold not have been more helpful with their recommendations for dinners and activities for day and evening. The cruise on the loch was fabulous and the outings to the nearby pubs and restaurants worthwhile.
Cons: - That couldn't stay longer than a week.

Pros: The host Sheamus was extremely welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, if a bit small. The breakfast was very sufficient (we could help ourselves with everything from the fridge, cereals etc), if only simple, which was fine for the price.
Cons: The showers use very loud heating devices that can actually wake up other guests when used -- annoying when you have to get up early, or when other guests use them at 4 o'clock in the morning (really happened, along with some running and shouting). The one twin room I stayed in was very small, only space for the two single beds and nothing else.

Pros: After a long day of touring and driving we were pleased to reach the Riverview House Bed and Breakfast. It is a beautiful location with excellent hosts. Rooms were comfortable and modern. Breakfast was outstanding. It was a short and easy drive into Athlone. We would rebook here if we ever return to this area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was well done. Great food, nice facilities, and excellent hosts.
Cons: Tv was a too small to see from the bed. Not a problem for us as we were mostly away but could be for some travellers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast and excellent hosts. Spotlessly clean.
Cons: The only thing that could have improved my stay would have been to have a decent size tv in the room. The one that was in was about the size of a laptop and at the far end of the room. You needed binoculars to watch it so didn't bother.

Pros: The view.
6.7 Good
Pros: The golf course is amazing. The views from the hotel are lovely and the breakfasts are great. (They seem to rely on the views too much and ignore the actual running of the hotel). Golf checkin and staff were very friendly and the golf academy and club seem very well run.
Cons: The service overall was terrible. Its more a golf type hotel as its run like a golf club. Its no way run like a 4 star hotel. No toilet paper in ojr room, no information given to us on checkin, no receipts or bills issued for anything! We werent asked if we enjoyed our stay. Bar staff kept overcharging as they never issued bills so you couldnt see what you were being billed for. We had to ask for a bill printout and discovered we had been charged twice for drinks in the bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing too much trouble staff all very friendly and very helpful
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The setting was beautiful with gorgeous views of Lough Ree.
Cons: Mattress needs updating. WiFi & phone reception were poor. Very noisy early in the morning from ground keeping staff cutting golf greens.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting for this hotel is so beautiful. Its tucked away in the country side on the banks of Lough Ree. The views regardless of where you are in the hotel are breathtaking. There is definitely a feel of it being a family run hotel. Staff are very professional and friendly. This really is a place to go if you want to get away from it all and just chill. We are not golfers but certainly enjoyed seeing people play.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was great!
10.0 Excellent

Cons: nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was good and the staff in the breakfast room and bar were very pleasant. The views over the lake and the golf course are tremendous
Cons: Upon arrival the receptionist spoke to me while still typing on her computer. Later during my three day visit I asked her assistance regarding facilities in Athlone and she told me I should contact her colleague in the morning she knew nothing about it. I needed my key card re programmed and the guy on reception give me a lecture about putting it with my mobile phone and having it the right way up when putting it in the door as though I had never used this key system before ! The lady on check out the morning I left was very professional.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very quiet, not really a complaint only an observation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was nice, location excellent, staff friendly
Cons: Bed could be improved
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked the location, setting was beautiful. The rooms and bathrooms are large. There is plenty of closet space. You can open the window for fresh air Even though I’ll be a little critical of the dining room menu, the burger I had was very good.
Cons: The beds are too soft- probably too old as I could sense ‘springs’ or ‘coils’. The quilts were too heavy. The sofas in the common area looked very dated. Chairs in the breakfast room not comfortable- very hard No separation from the bar/dining area. There was a large group of golfers there one night and it was very loud and no where to get away from it if you weren’t part of the group. Dining room menu not very exciting, you’re better to go into town for a meal

Pros: Everything. Beautiful location, setting and hotel!

Pros: Hotel had a great location, not just in athlone, but easy to and from Dublin airport as well. Best shower I've ever used in any country including luxury hotels in America. Three shower heads coming from different angles and strong water pressure. Nice and friendly staff. Pub had good food, some of the best soup I've tasted all over Ireland. Very flexible with early check-in once a room was clean and available. I don't have a bad word about this place. We would stay again for definite!

Pros: Lovely hotel and good location. The receptionist was very welcoming, helpful & mannerly as were the restaurant staff and also the young barman. Its only a short walk into town and about 20 minutes walk to Athlone Shopping Centre.
Cons: The fabric on the chairs in bedroom 308 needs to be replaced as drink stains on them. This really is only a minor constructive comment.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's was our Wedding Anniversary and we got upgraded, we had little welcome note,Congratulations to myself and my husband. Then at dessert they had written it on the dessert. Beautiful touches
Cons: We had to leave
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good. Location was nice on the side of the lake
Cons: Wasps were a problem on the day, but we sat at a dirty sticky table. The wasp situation may have been improved if the table was clean. I shouldnt have to ask to have a table cleaned. Our room was nice and cleaned well, however the TV didnt work. Husband mentioned it downstairs, however no action to remedy was taken. It was just a bit boring for us as there was nothing for us to do after dinner. I also was dissapointed that we came home with credit on our voucher. The price of our stay was taken from our account without our knowledge and the value of our food and drinks taken from the voucher. We hadn't expected this. We probably wouldn't have stayed at such an expensive place if we had realised this at the time.
10.0 Excellent
