great location, well appointed lovely room, nice lobby lounge bar area, good staff
There was nothing I did not like however when locating the hotel from the train station, a direction guide would be a good idea. eg 'leave the train station by exit 8 turn etc etc'
Location. Very convenient to many major attractions, restraunts,...etc
Facility. This hotel needs be re-modeled. Room size is small, but considering its location, it is acceptable. Breakfast has lots of variety, but do not expect they are of good quality. Wifi is not free.
Convenient location. Close to subway station and bus stop. Right on the WangFujing street. Friendly staff and clean room.
Location - was easy access to many tourist locations and pleasant to walk around in the evenings.
Was disappointed in the room for a 5 star hotel. Mirror was cracked and bathroom was old. In need of a face lift.
excellent staff, attentive
All the staff were really helpful and friendly. The front desk staff spoke good English and very helpful about our stay in Beijing.
There was a very strong cigarette smoke smell in our non-smoking room. There was no fan in the bathroom to vent the air out and couldn't open the windows either. The smell seemed to have come from bathroom's air ducts which made taking the shower awful.
Staffs are well trained with warm smiles and provides excellent service.
The room is kind of small but i guess it's because the hotel is in the 'golden area' of the city.
Staff & public space
Room was old. Heater didn't work so they gave me a space heater. Furniture wear was significant. Someone was smoking all the time and it kept coming into my room under the door.
Didn't make the bed properly just pulled up the quilt despite creased sheets underneath. Didn't replace creamer unless asked.
Hotel had good choice of restaurants. Less than five minute walk from night market. Safe area. Room was good size.
Hotel restaurant staff did not speak good english.
The front desk staff were excellent and friendly. They even let us check in very early which we were very grateful for.
The rooms were very hot. There was no air conditioning during our stay. I think it may have been broken while we're there perhaps it is nit like that now. The spa was worse spa I have ever been to.
This is a nice hotel with a good location for sight-seeing and visiting the Mall, shopping and the local walking street. Walk to McDonald's down the street. The on site restaurant is quite pricey.
The hotel is ok if you want to be close to the tiananmen square and forbiden city. Room are a little bit old. But overall it recommendable.
Hotel was in a good location. Easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants as well as bus and subway stations. Room was in good condition except carpet was a little dirty. Breakfast was a little too expensive. No free internet.
The main plus point for this hotel is its location. We were able to walk to the main shopping area and Food Street . Its central location allow us to access all the major tourist attractions on foot or by taxi. Hotel reception and consierge are helpful whenever we approached them for help with regards to taxi service/recommendations for tours.
We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed the clean, large rooms and great location within Beijing. My husband and I took a 10 minute walk to the Forbidden City --it was nice to be that close. The hotel is one block away from a really nice shopping area and western fast food, as well as many local restaurants. The hotel's concierge was very helpful, and the lobby is beautiful. The breakfast was amazing, so if you can book your room to include breakfast, that would be great. Be sure to buy bottled water since the hotel only provides 2 free bottles per day, and bottled water from the local stores is very cheap, less than 1 US dollar each. The hotel has a very very nice indoor pool, large exercise facility, sauna, and steam room. They provide down feather pillows, so if you're allergic, request one of the other 4 types of pillows they offer! Great comfy bed with nice linens.
I stayed at the Crowne in January 2009. I expect certain things from a supposed four or five star hotel - such as water. Every traveler to china knows you cannot drink the tap water and in fact the Crowne has a sign in every bathroom that the tap water is not to be consumed. All nice hotels in China provide complimentary bottled water in the room, typically a couple one or one and a half liter bottles, with more provided on request. The Crowne provides a 10 ounce bottle that has to last you a day, with no refills. Try brushing your teeth three times and washing your hands to put in and take out your contact lenses on ten ounces. and god forbid you want a drink - one swig and your daily allotment is shot! Your only option if you arrive thirsty late at night as I did is to buy water from the mini bar at an outrageous 32 yuan ($5 or $6) per bottle - the same bottle the local stores sell for 4 yuan. Whats next - limit you to one toilet flush or a one minute shower or 4 hours sleep - or you get charged extra? My complaint to the front desk resulted only in a sudden lack of their understanding english. You can't be a 4 or 5 star hotel on ten ounces of water a day. Stay at the grand hyatt, keep hydrated and have a way better breakfast.
This hotel was excellent. They make sure you are extreamly comfortable and taken care of. Lots of shopping and food nearby. It is difficult to understand directions in English but we never got lost
This was a fantastic hotel and the service was excellent. It was close to all the attractions and had a great western restaurant.
