Pros: Very friendly welcome, and neighbour! Beautiful house and garden. Large room with terrace. Unusually for France the room was very well lit. Good internet. Parking.
Cons: The space between the bedroom and the bathroom had an automatic light, meaning a visit during the night, woke the other person. Difficult to resolve given the steps, but perhaps a lower lux lamp would help?

Pros: The setting is serene and the property, with its beautiful gardens, including organic fruit trees and blooming roses just beautiful. Our hosts could not have been more courteous and helpful, even allowing access to personal phones for overseas calls to Aus. to sort banking access issues. Breakfast, with its plate of home grown fruit, cherries and berries and yogurt, the freshly home baked corn bread and croissants and great great coffee was a highlight.
Cons: There is no avenue for complaint here. A great place for couples to stay.

There is a small bakery 5 mins by car offerIng fresh baguettes, croissants and other pastries. Hosts are very helpful and friendly. I sincerely recommend this place!
Cons: The only little downside of the place which we stayed was a white gravel which looked nice, but made all shoes and clothes( children loved to play in front of the house in the mornings) dirty.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Maison d’Hotes Anne Fouquet! Everything: the luxurious room, the grounds, the location, the breakfast was wonderful, but the best part was Anne. She went above and beyond to assure that we were happy, comfortable, had dinner reservations, day trip ideas and lovely conversation while she served delicious breakfasts. La Roque-Gageac is one of the most beautiful areas we’ve travelled through. So close to chateaus, great restaurants and charming towns. I highly recommend this lovely B&B!
Cons: It was all fabulous!

Pros: Anne was an exceptional host. And rooms very newly decorated and luxurious
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We can’t say enough about our stay! Anne was beyond gracious, providing advice about things to see, and even providing us with sweet, ripe tomatoes fresh from her garden when we decided to have a simple dinner from the local market on the balcony off the common area. The rooms were elegant and comfortable with great amenities and Anne gets a 10+ for hospitality! Best place we’ve stayed in many years of travel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anne Fouquet, the owner, is incredible. She is the ultimate hostess. We felt like we were friends staying at her home instead of guests at her bed and breakfast. She was warm, friendly and we were the beneficiaries of her vast knowledge of the area, from the best restaurants (where she made reservations for us) to the best areas to visit. The lesson here is: "Listen to Anne". Breakfast was beautifully presented with a great assortment of fresh pastries, fresh orange juice, fresh mixed fruit cup, yogurt, breads, and eggs if you wish. Our room was an attractive and extremely functional and comfortable space with a beautiful view of the countryside. In all, our entire stay of six nights exceeded our expectations in every way and a large part of that is because Anne cares about her guests and she works very hard to make sure you are happy and your visit is perfect and memorable.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This accomodation is situated in a very beautiful location and top notch in every way. Owner Ann Fouquet is lovely and was very accomodating to all our needs. I recommend highly to everyone. This is the best place we stayed in this trip in France for 2 weeks . She also serves a beautiful breakfast.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Without any hesitation, we give the highest score. This was a stay to cherish. Everything was fantastic: the room with the view over the valley, the breakfast with fresh products, the relentless effort of Anne to make us feel at home, the personal but respectful contact, the warm hospitality... Anne puts the bar very high, and moreover is fully capable of realizing it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host at the property, Anne Fouquet, is remarkable. She is a gem - ideas for sightseeing, dinner reservations, information about life in the area. She makes the experience really special.

Pros: This hotel is wonderful. We have stayed there a year before and decided to come back again. It is great for couples and also for families with kids. The restaurant is incredible, the food is great and the staff is really nice. I want to especially thank the owner of the property and his son Max for special treatment. We have got lost during hiking, it started to be late and dark and no taxi was available, we were 6 km far away from the car and 30 min driving from the hotel. The owner of the hotel (sorry I didn't catch the name) come to take us with his son, with 2 cars, and gave us a ride to our car. Since it was late we have missed a meal, but they took care of us and save us a dinner, including the desert :). We will definitely come back.
Cons: nothing

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful grounds by a stream. The host made great jams and cakes. Nothing was too much trouble.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property was well presented and the hosts were more then welcoming. The location close to the river was a bonus. Joelle and Pascall, along with Kirk the dog made us all feel very welcome. Great place to stay when wishing to explore the tourist spots dotted along the Dordogne River.
Cons: While we appreciate the unusually hot weather France has been experiencing the hosts do need to consider air-conditioning in the bedrooms as the heat upstairs was most uncomfortable. That said, it would probably have been fine in the usual mid 20° summer temperatures. Just not 40° plus!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners, Joelle and Pascal, gave us an amazing welcome to their home. We were welcome at any time of the day to picnic and spend relaxing evenings in their garden and sitting room. Joelle joined us at breakfast for friendly conversation and to help us plan our days sightseeing. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We enjoyed our stay so much we were sorry to leave and Joelle and Pascal were there for fond farewells.
Cons: I enjoyed everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: La Chabotine is at a convenient location by a small brook, it is quiet and you can hear the sound of running water at night. There is a reasonably decent restaurant nearby.
Cons: The bed was not the most comfortable that one can imagine, and the door to the toilet was flimsy, fell off the rails after we opened and closed it a few times - the wall plugs did not hold it in place well.

Pros: It is a very nice, quiet and clean place just outside Sarlat with a large garden, on the other hand...you must have a car to get around, there are no restaurants nearby, but if you travel by car and you are looking for nice place to stay near Sarlat, this is the right choice for you.
Cons: At the breakfast there could be some warm choice and maybe better coffee...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with swimming pool, we only stayed for one night and did not take breakfast due to our son's specific taste requests at breakfast. Room was nice. Only comment was the very itchy kind of velour type carpet, but that's my own personal sensory thing, other than that room was great, shower was lovely, plenty of room in there. After an initially frosty welcome, the next reception staff was lovely. Nice outdoor terrace area with table and chairs outside room.
Cons: Location is a little outside of Sarlat but if yo u don't want to walk in to town it's perfect, nice and quiet. Car park is a bit of a squeeze, especially if a supply delivery is happening.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and peaceful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, immaculately clean, really nice location and quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful family owned and run hotel with great rooms, pool, grounds and breakfast. The owners and staff could not do enough for us and were so kind and engaging. Will certainly return.
Cons: Well, one of the beers I had was not as cold as I would have liked... I think they would sell enough to justify having a pression of something splendid..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly and welcoming staff. Large grounds with ample parking, lovely swimming pool and good views. Lovely room - external to main building but in little terrace of cottages with seating outside in the garden area and not overlooked. Very relaxing. Fairly close to town centre but it is not walkable. Spacious, pleasant, rural setting. Good breakfast. Well maintained grounds and central facilities. Clean and comfortable.
Cons: Toilet separate to bathroom, which is fine but it didn't have a hand basin. Seems no regular attention to room maintenance - a couple of things didn't work properly or were broken. No fridge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome by the owners. Nice well kept small Hotel close to Sarlat

Pros: We were welcomed warmly and merrily by the host. Eric was very helpful and easy to get on with. The rooms were very clean, bright and comfortable. Breakfast was typically French, plentiful, fresh and simple. It was a lovely place to stay.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Two friendly dogs, two large geese that thought they were the security detail and one rescued wild Boar. What a great welcome we received each day we returned from our sightseeing journey. Eric, our host, took great pride in providing us with a memorable stay. Eric, no English and us, no French, somehow made it all work. Our room was very comfortable, with a small sofa and chair. It was large enough so that we could comfortably relax between sightseeing sojourns. Breakfast, each morning, was a typical French affair, good and a perfect start for the day. We had purchased some cheese and other items that required refrigeration and we were able to store those in his kitchen. Overall, a comfortable and relaxing stay. If WiFi is important to you it was a little weak in the room, however, in the common area it was fine.
Cons: This nothing against the property. We had a Peugeot 308 and I must say the GPS was erratic . We stayed here for 5 days and it could never find it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Neat and clean with modern amenities. Even if he doesn't know English ,Eric is a very kind and helpful owner. He gave us a big pack of walnuts as a souvenir. spacious room. secure private parking. GPS coordinates are accurate. Basic breakfast. Try to have your dinner before reach the hotel. Outdoor sitting area. Good air conditioner. Big lobby with full of tourist brochures.
Cons: Don't expect a lift in a B&B.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely accomodation in a rural setting but only 10-20mins from main attractions: Sarlat, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Marqueyassac Gardens, Castleaud and numerous other chateaus. So a great base from which to explore.  Very clean, modern and bright. Beautifully presented.  Air con for hot summer nights and plenty of outdoor areas to relax.  Shower was terrific and bed very comfortable.  Sound proofed walls so very quiet.  Parking not a problem.  Breakfast was amazing and lots of it: bread, croissants, baguettes and a selection of preserves.  Eric (the host) is a lovable and friendly chap who is keen to help his visitors.  Despite our embarassing lack of French language (!) we managed to communicate with lots of hand gestures and nodding and were very appreciative of his patience with us!  We would stay here again and highly recommend La Maravela.

She gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing opportunities. She is absolutely delightful and attended to our every need including ice for my Jack Daniels!

Pros: Great facilities, very clean and friendly
Cons: As advertised but steep hill back to property which is in a suburban setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The entire staff was very professional and accommodating with our 3 night stay there lovely and relaxing. It got too hot for us to do all the sightseeing planned one day and it was most relaxing to enjoy the change of plans poolside instead.
Cons: We were in France for over 2 weeks and this was certainly one of the best places we stayed. There wasn't room for improvements.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our third visit to the hotel, it's a lovely little oasis in Sarlat. Christine is a wonderfully friendly and helpful host and the hotel itself is great. The rooms are clean and spacious and the pool is a welcome bonus at the end of a day's sightseeing. The hotel is quite a steep walk up from the town but after indulging in the local gastronomy it serves us well!

Pros: Great place to stay near Sarla travelling by car. Not so easy to get to, but absolutely lovely staff compensate this by their kindness and hospitality. The room is small but nice. The breakfast is wonderful. The most amazing thing in this place was the domain: a lot of trees, tables with benches, the garden illuminated with small lamps, kindly offered by the host, everything one needs to chill out in the evening with a glass of wine

Pros: Beautifully maintained home with wonderful views and terrific amenities like a pool, hot tub, gym and sauna. The breakfast and dinner (cost extra) were one of the best we experienced while in France.
Cons: It is a bit hard to find-rather off the beaten path. No way you could find it w/o GPS and driving to it at night would be quite hair raising because of the narrow, winding back roads.

Pros: It was our first trip to France and we really wanted something unique to take back memories of. Les Hauts de Saint Vincent definitely fulfilled that. It was a great place to stay and very conveniently located near some of our places of interest. Stephanie was great as well and gave us some awesome dinner suggestions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is super, 5 min. drive from Bayenac, and still in a quiet place, atop a hill overlooking the Dordogne valley, with plenty of parking space The lodge is very comfortable, rooms are large and the stone-and-wood decoration gives a very warm feeling. We had a room with a beautiful view of he valley. Mme.Stephanie is an excellent host: multilingual, always ready to help with advice or reservations, and an excellent cook.Breakfast is tasty, based on home-made products. She also serves a full dinner three times a week, not included in the rate.Do not miss it!We spent there a unforgettable week.No better place to stay and tour this area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully renovated old house on Dordogne with lovely decor and quality finishes. Beautiful surroundings and views from the windows. Plentiful healthy breakfast. Coffee and tea available at all times in the comfortable lounge. Stephanie has very good English and was very helpful with booking a restaurant for dinner Unfortunately we were not able to try any of her own cooking due to our schedule.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully presented property.Stephanie was an excellent host & prepared for a wonderful dinner for the guests one evening. A great location so close to all the attractions in this valley - Beynac, Roque Gageac, Castelnaud, Sarlat etc. Hopefully we'll be back to hot ballooning ..

7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast, lots of choice . Bed extremely comfortable , good bed linen , and thick, white bath and hand towels. quiet location tho out of town.
Cons: No available lounge to sit indoors with our friends after an evening out.
7.5 Good
Pros: - Convenient parking - Good breakfast - Rooms are comfortable - The receptionist was welcoming and gave us the details we needed for our visit
Cons: - The noise insulation was not good enough. One could hear all the people outside the room - Lack of a shower. The bathtub has a showerhead but with no holder if you want to shower standing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the edge of town - a 20 minute walk (downhill) to the main area for restaurants etc. It's a very steep hill so takes a little longer to return. The lady on reception (Anne Marie) was excellent - good advice, she had loads of information ready for us and a lovely sense of humour. We loved the restaurant in Sarlat she recommended. We'd definitely return to use this hotel as a base to explore the area. Bedrooms and bathrooms are basic but perfectly adequate and clearly recently decorated and clean. Thank you Anne Marie.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anne-Marie was so helpful and kind! The breakfasts were exceptional. Private patio with table and chairs outside the room was lovely"and the pool is beautiful. As a Canadian I enjoyed the lovely bathtub in our bathroom! Could walk to town down hill.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I particularly liked the little terrace outside our patio door with table, chairs and an umbrella. The pool was also a bonus. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice.
Cons: The very steep half hour walk into and out of Sarlat
7.9 Good
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Good size rooms plenty of storage, very clean.
Cons: We thought the hotel had a restaurant for evening meals as shown on the website and details in leaflets. Not the case. Needs details updating. Long walk to and from town up very steep incline. Would only suit fit people or a car is needed to reach restaurants.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast. The location was a bit complicated but we soon found a quicker route than that shown by our gps. It was quiet and restful. You do need a car to go to Sarlat though as it would be too far to walk up and down the various hills. We would stay there again with our dog should we come back to Sarlat for another visit.
Cons: The terrace outside the room was not private.

Pros: Great location and big comfy bed. Gorgeous room. Spotlessly clean. Late checkout compensates for late check in - absolutely perfect on market day.

6.3 Good
Pros: i loved the whole setting of the huts, its a very romantic place to stay for a couple
Cons: It is really very hard to get to from the train station. there are not axis in the town and the walk up to the hotel looks like 1.5 km only but it is uphill, and you are dead by the time you reach the hotel. So only go if you have a car
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, quiet, in a forest setting. Very peaceful and serene but be advised that it is a family destination so the kid noise can be present.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We liked the place better than we expected. We were on the fence about booking because we were concerned about not having A/C and about being too far from town. The no A/C was no issue. The cabins were shady and cool without it. I just kept my shades drawn during the day. It was too far to walk into town safely with kids, but it was a 10 minute drive into the center. We had three cabins among our group, and they were conveniently located nearby. Parking was easy and convenient. We enjoyed using the grill area and the picnic table to eat "in" one night. The cabins were modern and comfortable. The pool was nice, though chilly (I didn't get in, though many others did). Breakfast had lots of options, including some new treat each day. Do wish there had been some kind of eggs. The staff was lovely and helpful. We LOVED the on-site puppy, Panda--so sweet! And the owners' granddaughter was beyond wonderful with our 6 y/o daughter, playing with her and her friend in the pool. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Cons: Only complaint was the too early check-out--10:00 a.m. We had planned to have a leisurely morning playing at the pool before we hit the road and couldn't.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Rude manager/owner. Poor service. Dog faeces all over the complex.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The cabin was extremely clean and far enough apart to be private. Parking was right outside the cabin. The manager/owner was very welcoming and spoke some English which was a relief to basic French speakers!
Cons: Nothing ton dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality, the trees/forest and proximity to everything. The hosts are really terrific.
Cons: It was great - nothing negative to say.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the breakfast
Cons: The bathroom was very tiny!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast
Cons: Quite far from town

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in La Maison de Tari for a week. The B&B is ideally located to visit Sarlat, Domme, Beynac, and many other attractions in Dordogne, and is in a very quite rural setting. Sarah & Hoel are really great hosts who made our stay comfortable and memorable. We took the dinner options twice during our stay. We ate lovely French meals in a big table with other staying guests and the owners. Although our French is very limited, it gave us a family feel, a valuable experience of real French cooking and gathering. Thank you Sarah & Hoel. We all had such a great time at Tari. Merci!
Cons: None.
